Molly's is a Hanover tradition. The location is basically the center of town; you can easily walk to the Dartmouth quad, and all of the shops along Main Street are clustered around it. The service is warm and friendly. There can be a wait for dinner, but it's usually only a few minutes. While you're waiting, you can stroll around to the various shops. There is sometimes a silver jewelry vendor right out front who is popular with kids getting dropped off at the various camps in the Upper Valley. Food-wise, the menu is broad. Salads are good and imaginative. Of course, you can get the usual burgers and pizza fare. They have a wood-burning pizza oven, and the dough is very good. A lot of times, they'll have some interesting local vegetable special... they clearly get a lot of their produce from local VT and NH farms, which is great. Molly's is a can't miss choice if you're looking for a solid meal with a lot of Hanover / Dartmouth flavor to boot.

Terrible experience. Hostess and waitress were extremely rude and acted bored. Our appetizer arrived at the same time as our entrees, and when one of our meals was prepared incorrectly, we told the food runner, who laughed, and said “ I mean....?”, as though implying that we should just eat it anyway. We sat near the wood oven, and spent the majority of our meal watching one of the cooks type away on his cell phone with gloves on that he never took off or changed, and then went on to prepare food with. I’ve worked in the food industry for 11 years, and I NEVER leave less than 25%, with today being the exception. Will not be returning anytime soon.

Fantastic spot to eat. Food was pretty good and there's a good variety to choose from. Very hippie-like spot that appeals to younger folks... which makes sense, since the college is so close-by. Had the green coconut Thai curry, which almost seemed out of place with all the other items on the menu. Don't bother with the Corina's Switchy if you don't like kombucha... because that's what it tasted like. (Good to try though.) Atmosphere was pretty friendly and welcoming, and obviously they have a good social media team if they are responding to reviews professionally. Highly recommended!

In the Hanover area, this place is a staple. Rarely disappoints due to extensive menu. The decor is museum worthy. The place is a prototype eastern U.S. saloon eatery.

Party of 11(mostly vegetarians) seated quickly during late lunch rush. The food and drinks were very good and plenty of interesting choices for the vegetarians as well as the couple meat eaters. The service in our section was friendly and helpful, but it was unnusually slow even if giving some consideration for the time of day. Overall it was a good choice though and I would recommend.

2nd time here and it was just as good as I remembered. The Gnocchi was what I had and OMG it was so good. Pumpkin gnocchi with caramelized onions, ricotta and some walnut chunks. Highly recommend this dish if you love pumpkin. The other drink and food options too were all reasonably priced and the others in my group enjoyed their meals too. If you're in the area than stop on in. If you have kids or a creative person in your group the table mats are all paper and they supply crayons at every table. Its always fun to kill time between a meal by doodling on a table, thankfully without having to clean up the aftermath.

Everyone likes Molly's. An institution in Hanover for decades, it provides students, parents and townfolk a fun atmosphere and good food at causal prices. Wood fired pizzas, burgers, salads, steaks, mac and cheese, there is something on the menu for everyone. Gets crowded but it is worth the wait.

We took a chance on this place as we were not from the area and boy did it pay off! This was some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life! The table bread was flavorful and home made. The mac and cheese my wife got was excellent and the chicken carbonara I had was by far one of the top 3 pasta dishes I have ever eaten. The atmosphere was great and the wait staff was attentive. The price was excellent as well for such high quality cooking. If I lived near Molly's I would be much poorer and probably a lot heavier as we would be eating there all the time. If there was a higher rating than 5 stars I would give it. Go and eat here, you won't be disappointed!

Good food and unique vibe. Seems to be an institution in the area. Our server started by drawing his name in crayon on the table. Lots of ivy things adorn the walls, old sports photos, etc... The food was really good but I should have gotten the truffle fries. Next time. Come here if you want to play tic tac toe on the table while you wait for some pretty good food.

A Hanover institution! Molly's has been around forever it seems and always draws a crowd. Large menu (salads, sandwiches, pizza, pasta, stir-fry, plus more) means everyone can find something they like. Quality of the food is very good. In the Upper Valley, 630 pm to 8 pm is the busy time, so expect a wait, especially on weekends or when Dartmouth has something happening. Chicken stir-fry is a regular item for me, along with their tuna/avacado appetizer.

My wife and I stopped here on our way to a weekend getaway. It was an unscheduled stop so we had no idea what kind of a place this was. We are so glad we chose this place. Everything was excellent, from the mulled cider to the boneless wings to the lunch entrees we had. I had the chicken avocado sandwich which came with grilled chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and mashed avocado on a brioche bun. My wife had a salmon entree that was served with quinoa, roasted tomatoes, corn served on a thin slice of sourdough. We plan on coming back the next time we come up here. My only disappointment is that we live too far away to go there on a regular basis.

Mac and cheese was delicious, but I wish the greens were served on another plate - they were wilty and overdressed due to the hot cast iron. Would have given 4 stars, but there was lipstick on my iced tea glass....yuck

Food is okay but pricy. There are better alternatives in the area where farm to the table food is tastier and healthier with a similar menu and casual atmosphere. Service greatly depends on the server. Try to avoid rush hour on Friday's. Annoying: seating. During our last visit we were seated at the very back of the restaurant half in the way of the door to the outside patio. One of our companion was frequently bumped into the back by servers and other patrons, while there were many other open tables. This place is hit and miss. Very good to okay to seriously annoying.

The service here is really good and I have never had a complaint in that department. It is not usually too hard to get a seat but sometimes on busy Dart weekends you should call ahead and check the wait. The food is average fare and tastes rather good. The drink selection is pretty good but they do have weird sizing restrictions on their stronger brews.

I am stunned this restaurant has many stars and positive reviews. I had lunch there today and the food was abysmal. The “vegetarian“ options offered a few different dishes, one of them a “superfood salad” that was nothing more then shaved white cabbage, overly refrigerated avocado and slivered almonds, missing many ingredients the menu highlighted. The bathrooms smelled and the place overall just had that grimy restaurant feeling where things were just not that sanitary. I would not recommend eating at this restaurant where it is obvious the food is a secondary consideration.

Prior to moving to the Upper Valley my wife and I would make it a point to go Molly’s when ever we were in the area. Now that we live closer we can go any time we want! Totally delish lunch!! Went for lunch with my brother after doing some fall foliage peeping. Liz gave us our menu's and drinks and answered all of our questions. The food arrived and was perfectly prepared (and nice and hot!). I had the steak stir fry which was really good (the steak was cooked to perfection). When Liz returned for our plates, she noticed that I had not touched the mushrooms (wasn't in a mushroom mood and didn't really think to say 'leave them out' as I know that usually they are included with stir fry anyway). Liz in a really tactful and very cool (great service sort of way) brought up that I had put the mushrooms to the side. When i told her it was okay, that i just didn't want to eat them she said "that's okay, but the next time you come back, let us know and we can leave them out". I loved her comment and the fact that it was great service (and good for her for noticing that I had left them out) with an expectation that we enjoyed our meal and would be back for more - which we will because the steak stir fry and subsequent hot fudge sundae was really good. But when I thought about how many times someone has ever said to me "the next time you're here, let us know and we can leave them out" vs. just taking the plates away without saying anything - it's usually been just taking the plates away. I will definitely go back because while good food is one thing, great food and amazing service is a totally different ball game altogether. Thanks Liz!!

Wonderful atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food that doesn't take forever to get from the kitchen to your table. I'm not an accomplished artist, but I loved the paper sheet over the table and the crayons provided for coloring, doodling, and drawing on the table, and the smell of the wood fired pizza oven and watching as they added wood from the stacks in the wall to the oven only added to the overall charm. I will definitely eat here again.

Molly's is very popular and I have been here many dozens of times, but I don't think the food is particularly exceptional. After trying various items on the menu, I've settled on the CBC and burgers. The Robie farm burger from their specials menu is great. Pros: -Service is phenomenal every time, great and friendly wait staff. The service really brings my rating up. -The bread and butter is AMAZING, seriously addicting. -Something for everyone, the menu is quite large and varied. -Prices are very reasonable. Cons: -Food is just OK. I haven't had anything particularly memorable. -The $3 margaritas are cloyingly sweet, I can't believe people drink it. This doesn't reflect on the rest of the bar drinks, which are otherwise good. -Craaaazy crowded, wait time for a table can be 45+ minutes at dinner. Lunch waits are reasonable, usually within a few minutes when I've gone.

This is my go-to place when I'm looking for a quick dinner in Hanover. The food is good, the menu is extensive and varied (including lots of vegetarian options), and they have lots of local beers. Service is also very good and quick. It's usually busy, but rarely a long wait for a table.

Nice atmosphere, good was good. My 10 year old enjoyed the fish and chips. I had a very tasty roasted stir fry and had steak added to it with confetti rice. Waiter was very nice. We got there a little after 5:00 and there was plenty of seating, but by the time we left it was full. Parking nearby was free after 5:00. The table is covered with a sheet of butchers paper which allowed us to play games and color while waiting for our food.

Such a staple of this town! Their food is always fresh and delicious. I had the sweet roasted half chicken - it was on their weekly specials list, so I know it’s not on the regular menu, but it was absolutely amazing. At the time I said it was the best tasting healthy chicken I’ve ever had :) We waited a bit for our food, but the server was so nice and funny it didn’t matter.

Arrived during Friday rush. The restaurant was busy. Server was attentive but forgot to bring two extra silverware sets to our table and when asked for them, he brought cocktail napkins. The food was Ok, nothing special. The steak tips was a small portion and a bit over cooked. The salad was fine. Others in my party had the fish tacos (good but too much guacamole), special pizza (Ruben pizza...too much sauerkraut). Would take a pass next time but others say it’s good.

However despite our mediocre waiter (who didnt offer to refil my water or my beer) the place was nice and the food (I got the stir fry) was good. Dirty napkin, had to finally ask hostess for a new one. Asked for a burger, no bun, got the burger with the bun, food runner told me to go "old school" whatever the hell that means, got starter AND meal at the same time, server never came to check in. WORST experience ever. We get it, we work in the industry, WTF?

Great food if you can get a table. It is usually packed and there's usually a wait, but the food is always fantastic. I had an issue with uncooked chicken once, but they took it back and recooked the whole meal from scratch to perfection with great service. Everybody makes a mistake once in a while, it was good to see them take care of it. I will be back.

Lovely food, good service. Strict about ID for alcohol though. Bring your passport if you’re not from the US as they do not accept foreign ID other than a passport
