Mediocre but expensive

Darlene Parker

ordered take out, food was okay, I guess you have to try it to know. A small plastic container each $12-14 Asked for no onions, plenty of onions..

Willow W. Mauck

Vegan Naan! 'Nuff said. They are able to make all of their Indian breads dairy free. All of their dishes from the vegetarian menu can be made vegan as well. Delicious recipes; the dal makhani (lentil dish) is very tasty. Nice family vibes. Thanks HOI!

I guess, this is one the worst places on the earth. Pathetic rude service, they should first know how to speak to customers before running a restaurant business. Please avoid this restaurant.

Ryan Schwartz

Quick and easy. Sevice was good. I had the Chicken Chilli Kadai (spelling) - it was very good. Spicy, and a little sweet; not dissimilar from a Chinese Sweet and Sour dish. *Edit* Came back again, a year or two later. Food is okay, service is decent. The vegetable pakora tasted good, if not a little cold/stale. Chicken tikka masala was okay. Not a whole lot of chicken in there. Vegetable kofta in curry was also just okay. Flavor not amazing, and only 3 kofta balls. Naan bread was a little too thin and crispy - we prefer a more bready version. Still, we enjoyed our short stay and will probably be back.

Only reason for existence of this restaurant is that there is no indian restaurant nearby. Very rude owner and discriminates indians. I think he hates kids and will not give extra plate for them

Tyler Remillard

Food is amazing. Service is good. Priced well.

meg bhidola

Worst taste , waste of money.

Antarikshya Mohanty

Don't expect for a good service here!!!!! We had a 2 year old with us still the gentleman was rude while taking the order. He was so rude that we cancelled the order and got out of the place... Indians are welcoming but this one was an expection..0 STAR!!!!!

Katie Gaynor

I got takeout & the food was amazing. Will definitely be back again!

Anas Rihawi

less than average for Indian food. it's okay considering its the only Indian place in the area

Christian Lozada

Have to say that the naan was outstanding and really set the tone for the rest of my meal. Can't go wrong with any flavor selection and would be hard pressed to find better tasting indian cuisine period.

Nikhil Karkare

Good food, good service. Especially Naan is worth trying.

Chitra Mohanty

quality of food is not good , stale rice and overcooked curry. Waiter is kind of rude. and you have to pay for parking . absolutely not worth it.

Chris Kelly

I'm not a big fan of spicy food, so this place is my favorite. They make it to whatever spice level you want. P.s. Try the lamb special, it was my favorite and would highly recommend.

Rachna Gupta

Worst ever food .... They don't know how to cook Indian food....plus their attitude wasn't good at all. please don't go... It is just a waste of money

Vandan Pendli

Definitely not a place for people who are already familiar with Indian food. Also, owner doesn’t even know how to move with customers.

The food is great! I have been a number of times. Each time I bring someone new and they always say , WOW! How come I did not know this place was here. Highly Recommend. Closed on Mondays :(

Jarrod Williams

Went here with my wife and teenage son. Very good service. Our waiter was extremely friendly. My chicken vindaloo was spicy and tasty. Bread basket was really good. Atmosphere was pleasant. Don't know why there are so many 1 star reviews.

Lokesh Prabakaran

This is the picture of the chicken biryani... limited menu and taste is not that good!! I won’t suggest this place for anyone.

Joshua C

Good food, portions aren't great through.

Google User

We had really good food here! We almost didn't go because of the reviews, but ended up really enjoying the butter chicken and the chicken mughlai. It was REALLY good. Looking at the bad reviews, many seem fake. I agree with another reviewer that people are trying to sabotage their business. We had no issues.

There's a guy with a lot attitude ! Worst Behavior with customers ! I hate going there !

mohan saini

Pathetic and rude service. We cancelled the order and walk out. I don't know how these people are running a restaurant, they should know about providing services to the customer..Pls avoid these type of restaurants

Harish Panchal

First time here. Owner looked and behaved as if he did not want to be there! Wanted all our orders to be placed at once, drinks, appetizers and dinner. Never asked if we wanted mild medium or hot. Beer was served nice and chilled. .. so 5 stars there. All of our food came very quickly as if it was ready well in advance. Plain naan was hot n tasty (5 more stars)! Tried to strike conversation with the owner but non responsive and kind of rude. Food was bland. Chicken curry and vegetable kofta curry. Overall the place sucks, first due to rude owner and second bad food. Expect to pay for parking as the place is located in downtown Concord. Will never go back again.

Jon Logan

My recent takeout experience was okay. The food was good but the dishes were extremely expensive for very small portions. Too bad it is the only Indian food in town...

Adrienne Domey

Susan MacDonald

Excellent.

Nidal nobani

Never go there i would rather starve than eat at that place.the food is horrible and old ..the owner is ignorant to the point that he still charged for the discussing food I sent back because it was uneatable..

Molly Penner

Very tasty, never busy.

Chuck Rissala

With the handful of lowsy reviews, I felt obligated to award 5 stars. 4 is more appropriate as this is a great place to grab some Indian food. It was recommended to me by a friend and I've been a couple of times myself. The atmosphere is right, the food is very satisfying, and the service is great. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great Indian experience. I don't understand the negative reviews. They must be reviewing a different place or trying to hurt this place. Pay no attention to them.

AkshayKumar Reddy Koppula

Great food. Little pricy. Worth trying

G. Roberts

Clean enough. Nice enough location and space. Menu looks great. Food is poor quality and very bland tasting. Quite pricey especially for the lack of quality. Garlic naan was very odd. Everything seemed reheated from frozen. We were hoping to find a new regular restaurant. This wasn’t it. Shame.

Ryan Grawin

Decent Indian food.

A must go for Indian food lovers!!

Best Indian Food Around! Really love the Butter Chicken and Chicken Vindaloo! Also the naan is amazing! Try the one stuffed with paneer. We have been coming here for years and never had a bad meal.

Vikas M Luthia luthia

Good food. But the customer service is horrible

Carol Heydt

The food is excellent, always. Highly recommended

Rob Tyler

My wife and I decided to try this restaurant out since we were in the area and it was great. The atmosphere, food, and staff were very polite

Sathya Eshwar

Worst biriyani..wanted to give 0 rating but no option.

Shivendra Shukla

I do not have much words to describe its quality, quantity and taste we had in House of India, its simply AWESOME. I didn't get such a yummy taste in US yet. It was superb, fantastic and delicious food we had in Sunday afternoon. And the best thing was it was really very reasonable. I love to be there again and again. Apart from food quality and test, services are excellent too. They value others time and know how to treat with customers.

Nicholas Halka

Michael Russo

Probably the only choice for Indian food in the area - I've had decent experiences here but have heard a few bad stories.

Monalisha Sahoo

If i could i will give no star to this place. Staffs are so rude and they don't know how to treat the customers. I had a worst experience of my life by going to that stupid place.

Reyansh M

Good food during lunch. Reasonably priced and fast service

chandu reddy

I have never seen such a worst place with such a worst behaved owner in my life, he don't even know how to behave with customers. We cancelled the order becz of such idiotic person.

Casey Horner

The food was very good, but portions were quite small at mid tier pricing. The staff didn't seem terribly happy for us to be there, but that my have just been a language barrier issue.

Jessica Ellis-Hopkins

I'm so surprised to see poor reviews here.... I've been coming for 10 years or so and really like the food and the service. Nice local people.

Mohit Grover

Useless service.Food is also horrible.

When my husband remarked that the chicken I the chicken tikka masala was not fully cooked, the owner came and started to get defensive and raised his voice. My 6 month old son cried hearing this after which my husband retorted and asked him to lower his voice. Very bad experience for family. The least they could've done was to be polite and listen to the customer. Never going back

aaron vrabel

The chicken tikka masala was excellent! The staff were super nice and the prices were reasonable. Will definitely be going back! I'd recommend this place to anyone, best Indian food I've had in New Hampshire!

Good food and ambiance

Jesse Fenton

Reviews were mixed and we were very hesitant but love Indian so thought we would give it a try. Arrived and wasn't welcomed by host. Place was empty and took 10 minutes to get service as we were about to walk out. Ordered an appetizer because we were very hungry and it came with the entree. Waiter said it was free for his mistake for not bringing it on time. Everything was surprisingly small portioned for the prices. Got the bill and only 50% off appetizer after he said free for my mistake. Waiter smirked, said we ate it so we have to pay even though he said free and acted like I was stupid for advising appetizers aren't served with meals. He said they serve appetizers with meals but earlier said I messed up and it was free. If you are looking for drama and games this is your place. Won't be back ever again...

Alison Gill

Do not understand reviews citing rudeness or poor service. We've been many times and always served attentively with a smile. We find the food delicious.

Casey Niederhauser

Delicious butter chicken and tikka masala, naan was somewhat dry and crispy more like papadum but I'll give it another chance. Service was good and food arrived quickly. Will definitely be back, I could probably eat this food every day!

Sara Plourde

Dan Dube

Food is quite good, service is quick. I enjoy takeout lunch here regularly.

john o'riordan

Lovely food and an interesting owner :-)

Andrew Sylvia

Similiar to Shalimar in Portsmouth. The servings are small, the prices are regular proportions. The quality isn't in the same league as India Palace in Nashua/Manchester. Go to Foodees across the street unless you really have a hankering for Indian in Concord, in which case, this is your only option and it's palatable for what you're looking for.

We usually go for lunch. The food is always very good and sometimes excellent. Lunch service is timely and they will adapt spiciness to your taste.

Scott Duval

The food is delicious but service was a little slow. There was only one person waiting tables and there was a busy downtown event going on. I would go back again.

Fallon Rae Art

Only giving two stars because at least the naan was okay, but other than that Tikka masala was awful.

Alyssa Gaudette

Food was absolutely fantastic, I would definitely would recommend it to everyone! Service was very nice, great people with a great sense of humour. Definitely will be back again!

Haley Bennett

Amazing food. Amazing service. Overall amazing experience

Brian Chen

Great vibes from great people. A hearty order of chicken tikka masala during this cold winter definitely spruced up the day. Let's not forget the warm and savory garlic naan right out of the oven! Definitely will go again...a top restaurant in NH

Good Food, good service

Mahender N.G.

Worst Food, to beat that you have worse service. They charge 20% Gratuity with no notice anywhere on the menu. I think You may find that justifiable, with below review. We were a group of 8 people, looking for hot tasty Indian food, after a long cold (40F), tiring trip. Boy !! we made the worst choice of our trip....to visit House of India for that. We were made to sit on tables without any cloth. The tables were cold to have our hands on them. Next, the guy who was looking like the owner/manager, was rude from the beginning with negative communication skills. Coming to our order, Lamb Biryani --> Palav with few rubbery lamb pieces, and to mention, not a single dish had salt in them. I understand & expect to have dishes with less salt to suit once taste. But dishes with NO salt is a crime !! When I was looking for some salan/raitha for the biryani, he started replying with a very high pitch voice 'We have raitha & that is not included with Biryani. You have to pay !!'. I silently obliged and requested him to get that. He did the same to other family who were looking for some Onions with Biryani. He replied 'We call it Onion Salad & you have to pay for that.' I know, that we shouldnt expect anything for free, but there is a way of communicating that, specially in a Hotel Industry. And the biggest shock of our experience, 20% Gratuity with no Notice !! I think, with such a worst service thay dont expect the customer to willingly pay them any tips. Which they forcibly extract from you by including them in your bill. Overall, not proud to call this a Indian Restaurant !! :(

James Graham

We eat at House of India at least once a month. The family who owns it is very nice and are always there. We have been going there since 2005 and have never had bad food. The only time service was slow was a Valentines day and they were packed. Aside from that they are always very polite and on top of things. Getting take out tonight!

The Bad and worst behavior by the Manager. I don't understand how these type of sadistic people are running this restaurant... no respect at all ... Don't visit this at all

Bobbi Torres

NO STAR AT ALL! THE WORST WAITER(come to find out from girl who works there is the owner ) I HAVE EVER COME INTO CONTACT WITH. VERY IGNORANT MAN MY GIRLFRIEND ASKED A QUESTION ABOUT A DISH ON THE MENU .THE WAITER DID NOT WANT TO ANSWER EXTREMELY RUDE . AlSO PLATE HAD A HAIR ON IT WAITER GOT UPSET WHEN WE ASKED FOR ANOTHER PLATE .WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN ! NO SOCIAL SKILLS WHAT SO EVER .

jitu patel

They were closed in the middle of the day when people are hungry and we thought it was open when the manager came in and told us to get out of the place # worst place ever to have something to eat

Joe Ryans

Loved the mini somosas during market days. Will definitely be back!

suresh reddy

Worst management....cannot eat food ( frozen food)

Miles Petricone

Definitely worth checking out

Alpana Srivastava

So 3 of us went to this place and had the worst experience of our lives. The server was super rude when we asked for onr extra empty plate. It would have been totally ok if he would have said no. He not only shouted at us but also was extremely rude throughout the service. We nonetheless ate in silence, paid and left. It was a horrible experience and I would NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone.

Carlos Tejeda

This is our go to lunch spot. Food is great and service is quick!

Prem Kumar

Sorry. I thought my of my old bossy manager is serving me food and got angry saying did you not read constituents of the food rather than asking me? Food was also not so great to be called as a restaurant level food. If you have nothing near by but only this Indian food, best of Luck. Food is just ok to eat if your mood is only to eat Indian food.

Kyle Ross

I absolutely love this place! I have been several times and the food is absolutely phenomenal. Their spice profile is more warm than overwhelmingly hot so no one should stay away for fear of it being too hot. Make sure to grab a serving of naan bread which is cooked in a real clay oven and is perfect for dipping in your leftover sauce. If you're familiar with Indian food then they have all the classics plus a few original dishes. If you haven't had any before the butter chicken dish is excellent as well as any of their curry dishes. I'm such a fan of this spot and more people need to know about it!

Visited last holidays here, I got more than what i wanted. We order chicken curry, tikka with butter naan and beverages. Everything for two persons was more than generous. Staff is amicable, spacious room to sit and enjoyed the atmosphere. I am not much fond of spices , so asked for little amendment and everything was Ok, that i fancied for. So do give a visit and would got addiction definitely.

J

Delicious food, manager very friendly, very quick 10 minute take out. P.S I've noticed that every bad review seems to be from other Indians, coincidence? Or competitors?

Caroline Lefebure

This place is a gem. The naan is a must have.

jamie johnson

Went here today and loved the food! They made it perfectly spicy! Will be returning!

Matt Bowser

I can factually say that it is the best Indian restaurant in Concord NH. Of course it is the only one in Concord NH. With that said, it's not bad and should satisfy your craving for Indian if your in the area. Pretty standard menu and decent naan. They make everything to order so if you want extra spice you can ask.

Christopher Boots

I love this place! It's my favorite restaurant in Concord. It's not flashy but the food is simply delicious. Get a seat by the window and watch the eclectic citizenry of Concord stream past while you enjoy your meal. The only downside which doesn't exactly deserve knocking stars off for, but it annoys me everytime, is that they are closed Mondays. I've learned to live with it.

Christopher Polanec

My experiences are the restaurant do not reflect the comments in all the negative reviews. The staff has always been very polite to me and the food is great. I have eaten at a fair number of Indian establishments and the food here is better than most.

A M

Ordered the Palak Paneer for lunch; asked for it to be extra spicy. The food was great, and definitely worth the cost for lunch. Delicious food for an affordable price, along with a great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it if you are craving Indian food within the area.

Christopher Alexandre

It's really good

Eat here often. Once or twice over the years have had a sub-par meal, but usually it's excellent. Standard US Indian restaurant menu offerings - nothing unusual or especially creative, but seasoned & cooked well. My favorite Indian food from the 4 or 5 cities I've lived in. A little expensive for Concord, but worth it in my opinion. Portion sizes seem perfectly standard to me & I have never had reason for complaint about the service, with any size group. It isn't necessarily "service with a smile," but that's fine with me - it's always been prompt, accurate, and courteous. Decor is lackluster, though lit well enough & not unpleasant. But I love the food!

Vishnu Vardhan

They doesnt know wat is indian style and he named it as "house of india"... Hadnt taste the food yet.. Just waiting for the food to come.. Will taste it and let u know soon... I couldnt be able to review it again.. So i just started to rewrite my initial post .. I felt..i have wasted 50valuable dollars and 30mins in my life by coming here.. Quantity is inversely prop to price here.. I have ordered for thali and i saw there is just two spoons f rice with large quantities of curries.. Ohh god.. I shud have atleast gone to mcd.. 1$ burger would have satisfied my hunger ..

Maggie Schmidl

Lovely people, amazing food! Couldn't be happier!

My husband and I have been going to this restaurant for many years now. We live 75 minutes away but eat here anytime we are in town or passing through. I often get a take out order for my husband's supper if I stop in for lunch alone. Some of those who have reviewed this business have complained about things which I find insignificant and petty since I have been in food service myself and have been a professional wedding photographer observing many catered meals from the other side of the kitchen, so to speak. We find the lunch sized portions and their price to be quite adequate and affordable. We always have enough leftovers to take home and make another meal with. As for paying extra for "extras" I have to ask, did you even read the menu? We have never been charged a gratuity for a party of two. If large parties have been charged an automatic tip of 20% on the bill I can say that virtually every restaurant I have ever been in charged an automatic 18-20% for large parties. I would like to remind you that standard wages for wait staff is still rediculously low in this country and few restaurants have enough high end business to make good money. We always try to tip well and very seldom have such poor service anywhere we travel not to. At House Of India we are always seated quickly, our order taken quickly and our food brought to the table quickly. Our water glasses are always refilled when half full unless we say we don't need more since we try not to waste good water. I have many allergies and this is the only Indian restaurant anyplace in my travels where I can order Chicken Tika Marsala and it doesn't make me sick because they don't put onion in it. I get an order of Naan and roll it up with the Basmati rice like a burrito while it is still hot and steaming and it's always the best thing I eat all week. Although I've tried to make it at home it just isn't the same. I have one glass of white wine with it which is always nice and cold. My husband likes the chicken curry, lamb curry, chicken saag, lamb saag and the Mughlai special. The dinner menu is more expensive like anyplace else but, once again, we get two more meals out of our leftovers, the equivalent of 4 dinners for the price of 2. I've never thought the owners were rude. Their nationality and culture are different than "Americans" and they tend to be more formal, business like and slightly distant with strangers .There is a lot to be learned from that. Over the years the owners have become more acquainted with us so we are more like friends now than customers and I see that when other "regulars" come in the door too. They always smile and welcome us. Their conversational skills in English have improved over the years so now they "get" our jokes and they laugh with us. I find this a good lesson for Americans who travel internationally and expect everyone to speak English. Their children are there doing homework and helping out with customers because this is a family business. When is the last time you saw the owners of a business actually on site seeing to the everyday management of their own company? When is the last time the owner's wife cooked the meal you ate? Many times I have seen and been reminded of how rude and impatient customers can be, looking down upon people in the food service business as inferior. I see customers who come in with an arrogant attitude and I just shake my head. I think their own attitude ricochets back onto them and anybody who thinks a burger from a fast food joint is better than House Of India (as one "reviewer" stated) is not qualified to review this cozy little downtown shop which does indeed play authentic Indian music often...and I happen to like their decor.

Ananthu Vishwanathan

Only one Indian restaurant in Concord and it sucks! If you want proper Indian food, this is not the place.

Alexandra Flagler

I heard about this restaurant from a friend who is a fanatic for Indian cuisine! He highly recommended them and although I am not a super adventurous or spicy eater, I ordered lunch from them for the first time today and was NOT disappointed! The flavors were perfectly balanced, the portions were generous and the price was super affordable! I was hesitant because I am new to Indian food but the staff was super friendly and accommodating to any of my concerns. I will definitely be back soon and recommend this restaurant to anyone in New Hampshire- it is worth the trip!

David Alves

For the past 18 years, we have ALWAYS enjoyed House of India in Concord, NH. The food is very good. The staff and family are open and friendly (if not too busy), and gracious in their service. I reserve the 5th star for when they add authentic, classic (not modern) Indian music (e.g. Ravi Shankar et.al.) to lend a more Indian feel to the restaurant. Their Lamb Vindaloo (ordered authentic--HOT) is my favorite. I also enjoy some cucumber/yogurt with that. The dairy cuts the heat. Love their culpi for desert. Don't forget a bread basket. Best in the Region. House of India is meant to be a taste treat. If you want to be full, you need to order the bread basket . Or go to the Golden Coral. :-) FOOTNOTE: Interesting that most of the 1-star reviews are by Indians. I'm not sure what that says, but the possibilities include envy, or perhaps a concerted effort by some group to attempt to run down House of India for their own purposes (competitors?). Some of the other negative reviews may be the results of American presuppositions when visiting cross-cultural eateries. We tend to want immediate service. Other cultures do not necessarily value busyness and fast-food values. In addition, fine restaurants do not pile the food on but rather place nutritious foods that taste great as a presentation for their customers. That said, we have eaten in the U.S and various countries and find the House of India to be an excellent representation of Indian cuisine and hospitality.

Jonny Meeks

Great Indian food

Parth Dave

Extremely rude owner. If possible and if you have any other option, don't go there.

Holly Damboise

Great food and awesone service! We will be back!

Dyal Gupta

Came here with my family after our trip in the white mountains. My wife read the reviews and we were hesitant but we decided to go anyways. Lots of the reviews say the food isn't spicy or people were rude however our experience was different. The food was very tasty, the service were very polite, and the food had the right amount of spice and my kids and wife loved it. We shared a chicken biryani, 2 mango lassi, and veggie kopta. I suggest giving this place a try before judging it

Nathaniel Nelson

Amazing indian food! Be sure to ask for extra nan

Julie Cote

The food is amazing! Highly recommended!!

We had dinner at House of India last night and loved it! The service was kind and informative and the food was very good. Our server was very patient while my son made his mind up and made several alterations in his order. :D We love Indian food and tired many places in the NE region, I won't say HOI is the best, but certainly have the best samosas around.

Never had a bad meal here! Samosas are excellent, chicken vindaloo is so spicy but so tastey you cant stop eating it! Naan is fresh and perfect! Mango Lassi is best I have had anywhere! Owner waited on us. All smiles and checked on us frequently. This was a sunday at 1pm, most recently.

John Neidhart

Came here for lunch during a fall regatta. Service was friendly, ultra fast, and the food was oh so delicious! I had the chicken mughalai, and it was excellent. I've been to many Indian restaurants, but had never tried, or even heard of this before.

Tiffany Vincent

Since moving to New Hampshire, we have been craving Indian food. We have been spoiled by the PHENOMENAL Indian food in Cincinnati, Ohio. We were going to be near Concord and decided to try House of India. I had read all the reviews saying that the owner (or staff) were rude. But, figured we'd take a chance. We went there for lunch at around 1 p.m. The restaurant was clean and the tables were nicely set. Parking is on the street, but it wasn't a problem to find a spot. We were the only customers on a Wednesday afternoon. The owner (or staff -- but he was a little over dressed to be a waiter) wasn't as rude as some reviews would lead you to believe, but he definitely provided the minimum of service. We started with an order of their vegetable pakoras. They were served hot and crisp. The tamarind sauce was a little thin, but still had flavor. They were to be the best part of the meal. The chai was watery and lacked spice. The mango lassi had a weird after taste and the slight hint of rosewater that made me think they tossed some mango in their regular lassi. For our lunches, we ordered the chicken tikka masala and a lamb curry special. We ordered three types of nan (plain, garlic, and paneer kulcha). The plain nan was good, but the others had more of a pizza dough taste to them. The chicken was tender and well flavored, but would have been better shredded. The sauce was heavy on the tomato and light on the cream. We weren't asked our spice levels, and this wasn't spicy at all. The lamb curry was lack luster as well. The whole meal pre-tip was $77. Way too much for what we received.

Malavika Nadig

Had a very nice experience at the House of India! They served authetic indian food and each dish was tastier than the other definitely worth a visit!

Andrew Jones

My husband and I have been eating at House of India since we moved to New Hampshire in 2013. The food is excellent and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. We are regular customers and the staff has gotten to know us very well. We have never been disappointed here.

Lindsey Corbin

The Tikka masala was pretty gross: sour and runny, which is strange because it should be creamy and almost sweet. Naan was a weird consistency but the samosas were good. Would not eat there again.

Ajay Kumar

No service

Saurabh Sinha

Worst restaurant I have ever been. The owner is as if ..... Oh why did you come? Why do you want to order more? Food quality and quantity compared to price is no match. If you are thinking about good reviews, look at the pattern of comments. Will never go there again...

Madhu Gunreddy

Don't waste your time and money by visiting this place...

Venkat Duvvuri

Not so good n not so bad..! Can do better..!!

disha agarwal

Decided to stop here on way to Vermont and the owner/manager super rude & cold. Do not know why he has pants in a knot and what's the weight of world that pushes him to be rude and mean. Bad , rude man!!

Stephen Boisvert

Highly underrated. Good food, reasonable prices. The prices are little higher than some other Indian restaurants but frankly this place is much cleaner than some places and the food is good.

Maddie Palmer

I'm not a big fan of spicy food, however I asked for it mild spice level and they did a fastatic job. I got a chicken Tikka masala and if you haven't had it I'd recommend going for that if you're new to Indian food!

UM Layla

very bad customer service! just terrible!

Based on my experience, and considering the reviews, I honestly believe that the people who are down-voting this restaurant are doing so in an effort to sabotage this establishment and its owners. I tried House of India for the first time tonight and I thought the food was delicious. Everything was well spiced and very flavourful. I worked for 3 years at a highly regarded Indian restaurant in Rhode Island, so I think it's fair to say I know a thing or two about Indian cuisine, and the food I enjoyed tonight was well deserving of my 4 star rating. I would say their naan left a fair to be desired, but it was still satisfactory. Overall, the food was quite good and I will certainly return to House of India very soon.

Worse Indian Restaurant .. Normally I do not write reviews but the experience here was so bad that I really wanted others to know what they can expect from this restaurant. Basically we went there this Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was empty. We were the only customers but still the waiter was really rude and unwelcoming. He took 15 mins to even get to our table to take an order and his attitude was so bad that he even would not offer any suggestions to the menu. He was very rude and unruly that we decided not to take our chances with the food and we left without even ordering. Would highly discourage anyone from even going to this restaurant.

I don't often write a review, however, this is some of the best Indian food I have ever had (and I have eaten a lot of Indian food)!
