Amazing food and fantastic service!! The scallops are seriously the best I've ever had and the duck is phenomenal! LOVE the Granite!
Excellent food, wine selection, and mixed drinks! I love that they offer half portions on most meals and their specials. Menu is always changing and reflects the season. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. One of my favorites!
You have to eat here!!!!!!
Expect excellent good and service. ALWAYS!
Awesome food and drinks
I normally would not write reviews because they are a matter of opinions but The Granite was one of the best restaurants that I have been too. The service was outstanding, we had Matthew and I would recommend him anyway. Very prompt but not so much that you don't have your privacy, it was perfect, as well as very knowledgable about the food and drink. I had the potato crusted haddock over a linguine and sause and my girlfriend had the pan seared scallops. We also had the crab cakes as an app. Everything was very good and the portions were perfect and filling. The price was not bad at all, a little more money but the food was fresh not frozen. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice night out!
Their holiday brunches are fantastic. The food is great and the drinks are too. The restaurant can accommodate small to large groups and has a private room dining room for events. Great spot!
Easter Brunch was varied; food choices excellent. Service was prompt and welcoming.
Nice, clean, clearly a step up and perfect for special occasions.
I have had a few meals at the Granite and the food has been great each time. Highly recommended
Excellent service, delicious food and awesome cocktails. They offer a nice variety of dishes that you don't find at any of your typical chain restaurants. We took a ride up to Concord from Merrimack based on reviews from other guests and we were very glad we did!
Over priced & horrible coffee
I have absolutely no clue what is going on with this restaurant, but it isn't good. This was previously one of my favorite restaurants, with that being said... I've been here twice, within the last year. My visit, I'm reviewing, was provided to me free, as a courtesy, based on my previous dining experience. I was completely astounded that this dinner was worse than the previous. To start off with, the drinks as well as food service is soooooooo slow it is ridiculous. Especially, since the restaurant wasn't even close to full! Our waitress, (same problem as last time), is not trained appropriately, for a fine dining experience, which they are "trying" to portray, and I use the term "trying" loosely. Now onto the food.... I'm a big fan of sharing a bunch of small plates. There was plenty to chose from. We started with the oysters. Not cleaned or shucked properly. They were room temperature, and my husband was getting shell fragments in every single one. My fingers were dirty from the shells, and left black marks on my napkin, when I wiped my hands. Next up, was the Beef Carpaccio and the soup of the day which was a tomato bisque. The Beef Carpaccio was the most pathetic sight ever. It was 8 slices the actual size of a quarter each in diameter, and was $12. It was a laughable portion, and to add insult to injury, it was missing the Grana Padano cheese as listed on the menu. The tomato bisque was the best course we had, I have zero complaints. For our next two plates, we got the gnocchi and the mussels. The sauce for the gnocchi wasn't really even a sauce, it was more like a soup, which was obviously completely wrong. So watery that....our waitress gave us a soup container, to bring the leftovers home. The mussels arrived with a giant dead fly, floating right on top in the broth. We immediately notified the hostess and waitress, and the replacement order took 25 minutes. We finished up with the lamb lollipops and cheese plate. I have a nut allergy so, they omitted the sauce. They did not even render the fat on the lollipops, and we were left with a gelatinous, fat section, which made it totally unappetizing. The cheese plate was good, but let's be honest, how can you mess up a cheese plate. Sadly, unless this restaurant brings itself back to their previous quality, I will not be returning. The audacity, of this restaurant, to charge high end dining prices, on sub quality food and terrible service, should be embarrassing to them. Heck, I'm embarrassed for them. It is the exact opposite of what is expected, at a high end dining establishment. There's my honest review... and I'm sticking by it. Worst experience ever! I wish I could give it zero stars. My posted photo, is of the best part of our dining experience... our table, when our drink arrived.
Very accommodating
This is a great place to have a wonderful meal. I wish they would change their menu up more often. If they did - I would eat there more frequently! Service needs improvement - But, ask for Bill, he is great at his job.
Fabulous dinner attentive wait staff
Sit at the bar for the better experience. Seems like there's lots of staff turnover. Traditional fare and prices for white tablecloth, older crowd. You could do a special occasion comfortably here, but when busy, floor staff may be overwhelmed.
Elegant luxurious and expensive, it's totally worth it. 10 dollars for a slice of cheesecake. But it's the most amazing cheesecake in the world. 5 stars.
Lovely intimate dinner and attentive wait staff.
Easter Brunch. I have been to many top rated brunches, this is one of the priciest, ($38 for seniors, $45 for adults, plus tax and tip). I wouldn't mind but I did not feel that it was worthy. First off I will say that the service was excellent, our server was very personable and attentive...in fact all of the staff was also. Now for the buffet, the selection was less than expected. Similarly priced buffets have an omelette station, crepes, as well as a variety of breakfast options. Here there were scrambled eggs, and an apple - bread bake...then the typical sides of sausage, bacon and potatoes. The dinner selections were also unexciting, they did have a carving station with ham and lamb. The salad, bread, fruit and dessert selection was limited as well. We did not like having to get up to fill our coffee at the buffet, and all other drinks are an upcharge...most swanky brunches that we have gone to include juice and a mimosa in their price, they do not. While the quality of the food was good, it was dissapointing having larger more plentiful brunches as comparison.
This is like a hidden gem. Great food, very good service and nice atmosphere (a few days it has live music). Highly recommended in Concord.
The Granite burger was great!
Great place, I found the atmosphere nice and the food was excellent. Would come again for special occasions!
Great place for sitting at the bar where you can order from the full menu or the bar menu.
Liked the atmosphere and food. While you must look for it, it was worth the effort.
great food, nice atmosphere quiet, very good service
Finer dining in a pleasant environment. The menu appears to be largely locally sourced and is excellent. There's not a plethora of vegetarian options, but we have generally found the kitchen to be flexible and willing to adapt dishes to accommodate. The cocktail menu is well constructed and the servers seem knowledgeable and are ready to offer pairing advice. Our main complaint is that sometimes food can take a while to appear - we've waited an hour for brunch before. Otherwise an excellent place to eat.
A great choice in Concord. High quality and upscale without being stuffy. Occasional live jazz, great service, and a good drinks and beer selection (though not massive). I prefer to sit in the bar, but you can't go wrong anywhere.
We had an impromptu visit to this restaurant for lunch. It is housed within The Centennial Inn. Our extremely personable waitress, ANNA, took a bit of time to get to know us, discussed various choices and gave us positive suggestions. We stayed with the French onion soup which was delicious. My husband had his favorite which was on the menu, the Reuben and was very happy with it. I had a burger with fried onions and mushrooms and gruyere without lettuce and
Very good food.
A little discombobulated but they did accommodate us at the last minute. Very friendly service. No bartender on staff during the day. They did get my order wrong. The food was good but expensive.
Great service! Excellent food!
The server was awesome. But the food took well over an hour, and the portions were on the small side. However the food was amazing and I would definitely eat there again.
Excellent meal and excellent service
This is a dressed up casual place. Ate at the bar with my wife. Stiff drinks, but not much depth. Food was mostly good, but expensive - poutine was not true poutine though. Waiter was nice enough, but a little hammed up (and maybe a little toasted?...). Also close for the night at 9. Meh...
What can I say. It gets better and better. Concords best in the City. Great Chef, service with smiles and food to remember. Thanks Granite,"The Rock of Concord for fine food". Ray@Lucia/ Bow,NH.
It was out first time here with a group of friends prior to a theater matinee. With a group of nine we had a small private room of our own. More pricey than a dinner breakfast for sure, but the food was good, the portions reasonable and the ambience was nice. A nice little combo with our theater visit.
Wow! My husband and I are foodies and love to travel and try new places. We loved this place! The food is delicious & presented beautifully. The staff are all knowledgeable and wonderful. We will definitely be dining again soon!
Love the menu! It is truly a can't lose situation. With so many amazing dishes to try its really nice that they offer half portions so you can try multiple dishes and extend the experience in the dining room. For the uninitiated the restaurant is located inside the historic centennial hotel. It's easy to miss but worth seeking out as it is easily the best food in concord.
Hands down the best food in Southern or Central NH. Dinner is pricey but the lunch value is a poorly kept secret. Great atmosphere where you might see jeans and a t-shirt or formal wear at the same seating.
It was nice and all and the food was good but it didn't really meet or exceed expectations for the price. We went to the Mother's day buffet. There's no way my 12 year old could eat $22 worth of food in one sitting.
loved the brunch
All of the food was delicious, the cooked vegetables and lamb were particularly good
Excellent, top to bottom. DELICIOUS, half portions if you want, generous full portions, healthy pours, and great service! Did we mention delicious???
Great atmosphere for a date night
Good food good lunch service
Amazing!
Upscale...excellent menu....professional staff
I can’t say enough good things about working with Granite for our wedding! The food was all so delicious at our reception. We were looking for something that was above your average wedding food, and this was definitely it. Their menu is original and elegant! From the start, they were flexible and clear that they weren’t trying to price gouge or sell us on anything we didn’t want, which is always so appreciated. At our tasting, Chris was so friendly and open to all of our feedback. Sherri was incredibly helpful and responsive as we finalized the menu, number count, dietary requirements, etc.. They came out to the house (where the reception was held) for a walk through, and Sherri came again to meet the day before the wedding. It was so helpful to feel like we went over every little detail with them!
Had a excellent lunch!! James and Jen!! The best of the Best!!! Thank you James!!
The cheesecake never disappoints
Very small portions for the price!
Food was great, just watch because the price matches the quality
Great atmosphere, outstanding service and a constantly changing menu that features local products. Don't miss their cheese plate.
Nice farm-to-table spot in the heart of the city. Bread was to die for!
The only thing worse than the service was the manager. Besides, the food is overpriced. Believe me when I say that you would avoid a world of stress by patronizing a different establishment, that WANTS your business.
We like the quieter atmosphere at Granite. Good food too.
This is THE place to go in Concord for a special occasion. The food and service are amazing.
The bar tender is the real treat here. He knows every beverage on the menu. My food was not the best but I did enjoy my company's plates. Cute place off the beaten path adjoining a high end hotel.
I thought that the server we had was slow responding to our needs, as he appeared to be more attentive to customers who arrived after us, taking their order while we were sitting for about 15 minutes with our menus closed. (The reason for the low star rating) The food was very good and we enjoyed our drinks. The hostess was very nice, and the dining/lounge area were clean.
Excellent service, delicious brunch, relaxing atmosphere. Great place to meet old friends and catch up without pressure.
Went to Easter Brunch here. Was not what I expected for the price. Wasn't bad, just expected a little more!
The food was incredible. We both had the spiced duck. Our server, Brienne, was excellent! Attentive but never intrusive. It was a perfect meal served perfectly! Drinks and desert were excellent as well and the pricing was very reasonable considering the high quality of the food and service. We were very impressed.
Granite Restaurant & Bar – Concord, NH – 6/24/2016 The restaurant, located in the Centennial Hotel, has a rich history that dates back to 1876… It was named to commemorate the country’s first 100 years… One of the first homes for the aged in New Hampshire… It's current brick structure was rebuilt in 1882 from the original wooden structure... Over the stereo system the sounds of Louie Armstrong could be heard adding to the already magnificent ambiance… If I wasn't on business I'd probably stay at the hotel… And so it begins… Freshly baked rolls… House Whipped Butter alongside Herbed Cream Cheese…Wonderfully light snd flavorful… the combination of Olive Oil, Butter and Cream Cheese really brings the rolls to life! The Chef sent out a Grilled Asparagus wrapped in Prosciutto… Grilled Cherry Tomatoes… Basil Pesto and Parmesan… The preparation and plating was perfect… Chilled Red Grape Gazpacho… Black Pepper Honey Yogurt… Cool and refreshing... Duck Meatballs… Parsnip and Leek Purée, Local Fiddlehead Yellow Carrot Salad, Pomegranate Gastrique… And for the my main course this evening... The Spiced Breast of Duck… House Cured Duck Confit,Wild Mushroom and Vegetable Fried Red Rice, Gran Marnier Orange Marmalade and Roasted Duck Glace… My server Bill was amazing and the manager Lisa came over to make sure everything was to my liking. Another great fine dining experience for The Road Warrior…
Such a fun atmosphere and great for either a date night or place to catch up with friends. The location is great and the restaurant is clean, upbeat, and relaxing.
Good place for peaceful dining and conversation with friends.
Love the availability of half portions.
A great option if your are in Concord NH. The lunch menu had a great variety of food and reasonable prices. Everything was very fresh and cooked just right.
Amazing restaurant! I am a cheese lover and they always have something different and fantastic to try on their cheese plate! Also, the steak is cooked perfectly everytime! Highly recommend this for a nice evening out!
Terrible service.
Way more expensive than we thought! Although the food was delicious, so it makes up for it. I got a salad with anchovies and salmon, but they gave me only a little uncut slab of salmon and a single anchovy.
Best restaurant in Concord. Kind of formal and generally need reservations for dinner but food is delicious.
Have always had a good meal here. Cozy atmosphere for dinner, brunch is always great (crab cake Benedict and of course, a Bloody Mary. Service is attentive and friendly.
Excellent service, atmosphere, and beverage selection. Very classy
We came back in 2019 for Valentine's Day. Again had reservations, but waited well over an hour to be seated. As before, the people, the food, the atmosphere, and my French Martini was great. We stood at the bar for a while, because drinks are not allowed in the waiting area. Then seats at the bar opened up and we were able to sit down. We had great conversations with people we met and the bartender, Cory, was excellent. We finally were seated and our server was friendly, attentive, and our meals were perfect. My suggestion, if you are making people wait that long to be seated when they have reservations, and you are already charging exta for the experience, and have failed to deliver on the package ... offer them a complementary drink as compensation. I have not changed my rating from last year, but was tempted to drop it down, as the price paid, there was no excuse for the delay in the seating for us and many others. Sometimes the experience you have includes the attitude you bring with you. (Me) Below is my first review. First visit here. It was Valentine's Day, but we had reservations, so we were seated promptly. Not sure if they were short staff, but our wait between ordering and receiving anything was very slow. Most items were great. I ordered the 8oz filet, and my husband ordered the duck. He said mine was the better choice, and I would agree. The oyster selection was very good as well. The dessert champagne cake was moist, but nothing spectacular. The 2012 malbec was just opened, I was told. But the temperature was too warm. But the French Martini was very well made. Overall a great expierience, but over priced for the experience. My suggestion try this place when it is not a set price per person.
Great place for a quiet breakfast
Nice setting, however the service was slow and the food was ok. Definitely not worth the cost.
good beer, good burger
The place is very slow and food is also just average. Their drinks are okay and hence the three stars
I made reservations for a group of 8 for 5 PM on a Saturday, telling them we had to be at a show for 7. We were greeted quickly and set up in a private room, with menus waiting. Nicholas, our waiter, was very attentive and food was so prompt we had time for dessert! I appreciated that many entrees and some desserts come in half portions. Will definitely go back again!
