As you know, we don't usually bother to give scores when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Family restaurant.
I love the atmosphere at Fosters. It is a cozy place with a great staff who make you feel at home. The pretzel bites are my favorite appetizer. For desert, the snowballs are irresistible.
Best place to eat in plymouth. Bar menu but also has fine dining dishes and creative specials. Love the waitstaff!
This place is very good. Service is great and the food is what is expected. Drawbacks are, it's a little confusing navigating the building and the prices are a little high for what you get but overall it's a nice place to relax and have a great dinner.
This place was awesome. Great ambiance and food selection. A bit confusing to find the entrance - around the back through the hotel lobby is probably the easiest.
Good for family fun
Great place and atmosphere for quieter meal that's outside of downtown Plymouth and away from the "college vibe". Nice rotating craft beer selection on tap. Great liquor drinks and wine available as well. Food is tasty with the pork tacos, falafel, spicy lettuce wraps, pot pie and steak tips being my favorites.
We go here often because you can't beat the ambience and we've never had a bad meal! Terrific bang-for-the-buck.
Awesome here.
Great meal and service.Thank you for supporting our Veterans!
Great service !
Casey and Collin weren't working (disappointment)...service though was on point! Golf clap.
Great food and a great atmosphere.
Great location for dinner.
I've been to Foster's a few times before. It has been a very good restaurant. This visit proves the exception. The food took about an hour to arrive after we ordered. My burger was a little better than shoe leather. My daughter was served Mac and cheese. Something wrong with it. We all tried it, we all agreed it was bad. Sad day today for CMan. Rt 104 diner was a disappointment as well.
We traveled from Central PA through New England states to get to Maine. Was starving when we finally found a restaurant. This place has a huge variety of meals and appetizers to choose from. I got the steak added to my salad - so velvety and juicy!mmmmmmm!!!!! My husband and I loved everything. We travel a lot and are foodies and the food and atmosphere are in my top 3 restaurants!!!!!
Always a good meal and Good service.
Amazing food and service. Very friendly to climbers late at night. Great place to be.
Always a great place to grab dinner. They have a very wide variety on there menu. The pretzel bites were amazing. Always very friendly staff
We had drinks and appetizers. It was all good. The prices are reasonable. I will go back
On our way to Mt. Washington, stopped in for lunch. Great customer service and food food!
Good food ,great atmosphere..
Great atmosphere and very good food. The idea of making an Inn out of the factory was very well done!!!
expensive
Ordered takeout today. Ed was at the hostess desk and took my order over the phone. He was unable to find the items I ordered on the menu. I had to tell him under which sections he could find his own menu items. He said it would be about 20 minutes. I showed up 20 minutes later. He went and "checked on the order" and came back without my total. I handed him a wad of cash and came back with some change saying the food would be a couple of minutes. 15 MINUTES LATER he comes out with out food and a party of 6 enters at the same time. He gave us our food and turned his attention to them immediately. Did not apologize for the wait, didn't even say thank you. I expect a little bit more for a $30 dollar lunch for 2.
Meh... granted it was later in the evening (830ish) sat in bar with I'm assuming a limited or bar menu, wasn't impressed with the meal.
The steak tips were delicious.
Had a super meal with excellent service. Definitely a restaurant everyone should experience. Top notch in my book.
Great Food
Food 2as good. They did get my wife's order wrong and they corrected the mistake. Staff was very nice.
Great food and service
Love this place
Always enjoy my food. Wonderful atmosphere. Somewhat limited menu.
Fantastic! Burgers can't be beat
Very friendly and accommodating. Good service. Food is good quality, beer selection isn't very wide. Cozy atmosphere with a very unique aesthetic.
Great service good food nice atmosphere
I took my wife out and we don't get out much so we were having a great time and it was fairly slow so we was plenty of wait staff the problem was one of the wait staff or managers or whoever he was dropped a glass real close to us. Bad luck started happening, I love my wife and didn't want her to know so we stayed. We were having fun, her meal was great and I did not want to ruin our night. My meal on the other hand was like a half a chicken I don't remember exactly what I ordered but it was cold on the inside. I would urge the management to check their cooks and what their processes are because I believe their pre cooking your food and refrigerating it so they can beat the rush they get and that's fine but if they're going to do that they need to make sure it's cooked and also heated thoroughly through I probably won't go back and ordered food and I may go in for a drink. I hope they checked these ratings because it really could be a great place.
Great service and food. We ate in a wine cellar room to accommodate our larger group.
Busy
This is a pretty cool place, atmosphere is rustic and casual. This building was once a mill. Food is good and prices are fare! Last time there, I had a burger which was very good and pot sticker appitizer, they were very good too! Drinks are always good.
Good food and great service
This place is amazing! Atmosphere very comfortable food is amazing. People are friendly!
Really great food!
I love the Common Man restaurant chain. They really give each restaurant a nice vibe. The food is always good, especially for the middle of nowhere in NH. And the allergy friendly options are greatly appreciated!
Warm and cozy. Nice relaxing meal.
Delicious! A little pricey though.
Attactive atmosphere but the food was just sad. The waitress told us she was waiting for our bread to come out of the oven. We were surprised to find it frozen in the center. I guess she meant the microwave oven. I ordered a prime rib sandwich wich turned out to be leather with cheese on it. The lobster macncheese my wife ordered was dry and the lobster unbelievably overcooked. The clam chowder was decent as was the haddock. Overall far too expensive for crap food.
Stopped in for dessert...Oh my goodness! We had the Snowball, Chocolate cake, and the Icecream Sandwich, We shared and they were all divine! Thank you! The dining room was pretty quiet but comfortable and clean, the staff friendly. When I come back in town I'll come for dinner and entertainment. I hear my Niece does a gig there once in awhile...
Good service, great food, reasonably priced. Korean BBQ ribs are to die for. Desserts were excellent as well.
Have gone about 3 times now. The last time it was very busy and we had about 3 waitresses and waiters helping, the food was amazing and great team work!!
I just love their french fries and Cole slaw. Try the fish and chips dinner, you won't be disappointed.
Always good
A must stop anytime I'm in the area. Mouthwatering steak tips delicious fresh salads. Try the deviled egg appetizer, its simple but so amazing!
Wicked awesome. Very comfortable !! .homey
Just a good time with great staff. Very pleasant atmosphere!
Great food and atmosphere ... very friendly
It wasn't horrible when we first got there or thats what I thought anyway. Attentive wait staff or so it seemed. The waitress came twice really quickly to take our order and it took us a few minutes to decide. She had one other table at the time, then it was a waiting game for the rest of the night, we couldn't get her attention to take our order. We both ordered burgers and the nachos appetizer. Then they sat a 20 person party in the same room as us that was to be waited on by the same waitress. So she had 3 small tables and the 20 person table. The loudness was crazy, I think they upped the heat to about 80. So the nachos came out and they were good. It took over an hour to get the burgers. When we did get them they were charcoaled and weren't worth eating. I don't mind waiting for food if its good, but this was not good now where near it. The wait was crazy. We were there for at least 2 hours ..... For nachos and 2 burgers......that's insane. The food bad. The fact they sat 20 person party with 3 small tables all to be managed by the same waitress showed how much they really don't have a clue how to manage their seating plan. Won't be going there ever again and I live in this area.
Real good food good waitress
Food was good and service was decent but prices a little higher than I felt it was worth. Beer selection was pretty good especially compared to most restaurants.
Thank you to the great staff. Liz and Ed made our 1st lunch date as a married couple the best. Always a great time. Truly our favorite place to go.
Fun atmosphere! Great place for groups. Great draft beer. I wish they offered more fish options.
Great history.... good apps.
Best special we ever had at this restaurant! Steak Oscar, amazing dinner. Chef was spot on... Ate at the bar, at a tall table. Only complaint was the table was too dimly lit.
i sat at the bar the other night..which is a comfy spot..there were other folks around and we all ordered food..EVERY ORDER raised a complaint..it was almost comical..why would you spend money to eat someplace where people can't get the orders right..terrible..beer was good
Great personable wait staff, and great entre and appetizers to choose from, all with the Commonman theme.
So, my new husband and I ate here a few times on our honeymoon and for the most part, it was great. We thought a couple of the servers were lacking. They seemed uninterested, dry, and we felt slightly rushed. One of the times we were served by a very friendly woman and a girl she was training and they were excellent! They made us feel special by asking us where we were from and what brought us there. When we told them it was our honeymoon, we were surprised with two glasses of prosecco! The food, again.. for the most part was excellent. The first night, we had a flatbread that was delicious and an even better duck confit grilled cheese. The brisket Mac n cheese was killer. We also had a special with steak and bacon wrapped scallops that was awesome. The steak was cooked perfectly! Oh and do yourself a favor and order the reuben fritters! They were our favorite We'll definitely be back for a visit next time we're up north.
Great food and great staff
Love it
The food was average...nothing stood out. Had a party of four but no one like their meal especially how expensive the bill was.
Fosters... what have you done?! For the longest time, Fosters Boiler Room was a great addition to the Common Man line up but really, they messed up BIG TIME. I mean, the atmosphere was nice, and the desert was AMAZING! But not even that save this dying restaurant. So first of all, there was like nobody in the whole restaurant (but then again, it was a monday) and we decided to order a plate of onion rings. When they came out they look amazing and, they were ok. But next thing you know, there's a giant pile of grease (like STRAIGHT UP GREASE)! There was so much, my mom got freaked out by it and my dad was able to draw stuff with the grease! It was terrible. Then finally came out our food. We thought this might be able to save Fosters but no. The only person that got a good dinner right when it came out was my twin, Mason. The rest of the food was... blah. My fish and chips was SO greasy and didn't taste real good but, we'll get to that later. My mom's salad was like soy sauce soup with lettuce in it. We had to reorder the stupid salad! My dad's dinner he said was OK so, yeah. Well, back to the fish. So, I got the fish and chips and, it was greasy and huge! I started eating it but, I started to feel bad after like, the tenth bite. So we decided to just use it in tacos at home but, it didn't make the journey. We got in the car and after like 1 minute, we stopped at a gas station and threw it away. Overall, didn't like it and we probably won't go there again unless, they pull it together. Here's an idea Common Man: open a dessert shop instead, and shut down this crappy restaurant!
Tha meal was ok. Food wasn't really hot at buffet
Whether it's a company Christmas party or a quick stop for a beer and an app the Common Man doesn't disappoint. Fosters is a clean and cool place to be. Fair prices and good food. Nice rooms too. Love it.
Steak tips A++
Excellent food!!! Whenever I'm in Plymouth this is a must.
The place is really cozy, with many stairs and levels. The staff is wonderful as well, but I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 is due to the food which I can describe as average at best. The Reuben Fritters are a must have specialty, but all the other items we ordered were so so! It's a bit of a bummer since the atmosphere is very enjoyable!
It was just ok... nothing special
Excellent food and excellent service. The prices are incredibly reasonable for such quality. Our host brought a coushin over when he noticed our 1 year old squirming in the high chair, which worked out perfectly. The attentiveness of the staff was refreshing. I had the chicken and waffles which was the best I have had in a very long time. Everyone in my party was impressed with their food. This place is a must if you are in the area.
It’s the common man, that really should be all you need to know. Great food, great atmosphere. Reasonably priced and good portions. We went here and stayed for a night just to make this our destination. Always nice to hangout in Plymouth again though too. Great little college town in the mountains.
The food and service are fabulous. The food we had was something we'll remember for a long time. Every single thing was perfect, from the pumpkin bisque , the fosters steak, (done perfectly for BOTH me and my husband) and their homemade ice cream sandwich with salted caramel sauce, it was the best Anniversary dinner ever. Love this place!!!!
Great atmosphere, food could have been better. Spa on-site. Function rooms too.
A must try, a great group of people amazing food the perfect setting for the family
Our server Jesse was most excellent. The meal was delicious and the presentation by the Chef was very appealing. We have always had positive experiences here. We will come back again and again. This restaurant is a real gem.in the valley.
Service is still as solid as the first time I experienced it, however the food quality has been all over the place recently.
Food was good. Have been there before.
Great place!
A very tasty meal, good drink selection and great service. The prices aren't bad either.
Always a great choice for a quick bite and a beer or an amazing meal! great atmosphere, great service and delicious food, the menu also changes frequently( at least every time I'm there which is maybe once or twice a year, wish it was more!) Which is great offering a variety of delicious food and appetizers, they also have small plates which is a great offering!
Great experience old North woods ambiance
You know thos restaurants that you always go to? The ones where you're like "I want to go out to eat but don't want to pick a place, but I want to go somewhere nice". This is that place. The food is great, The menu is a perfect size and the vegetarian options are very respectable. It has great ambiance if you get the upper sections. The lower sections feel more in line with a standard restaurant, but the high ceilings and couple floors of the upper section are great. 4/5 stars. Note: I am extremely reserved when it comes to rating any location 5 stars. You should consider my 4 star a popular opinion's 5.
Food was great cant wait to go back
Disappointed! Menu limited and too cold but server was good.
Atmosphere is incredible in the re-purposed old mill. Food was delicious, beer selection was superb, and the desserts were amazing. Cant reccomend it highly enough. Casual but elegant.
Man, love this place. Uncommonly good. Ambiance. Delicious food. Excellent drinks. And a history lesson in the bathroom.
Very good food. Service was a bit slower than usual. All in all it was a pleasure to have dinner there.
We went here after a two year hiatus. Wow, what a disappointment. Our waitress, Andrea, was new, so she was nervous. That's completely understandable. Andrea was not the problem. The food was lackluster. We had two seafood dinners because the restaurant choice to add sauces with the latest trends (included chipotle, banana peppers, etc.) has ruined the menu, sans the brisket Mac-n-cheese and onion soup. Most chefs and great cooks know to Keep it simple. If you have to cover it up, then quality comes into question. Simple is the best way.
Amazing all around!
Great food and atmosphere
Excellent food good prices friendly staff
We’ve been here the last couple of years for Mother’s Day. Very nice
Good drinks, good food, good service. Free cheese and crackers!!
Oh my, this is a must see restaurant! We were traveling thru and happened to stop here. Great food, friendly service, and the neatest atmosphere! Highly recommend!!
Bar closed way to early!
We love it here! Friendly, great atmosphere and great food! Definitely one of my top favorites!
Great must visit restaurant if in Plymouth NH
The food is amazing
Lang wachten voor een tafel, dame bij receptie was ongeïnteresseerd en gaf geen informatie. Het eten was goed
Love the food and the setting. So much New Hampshire area history and artifacts.
We haven't found one thing we don't love there! The pork tacos were to die for!
We were not asked if the bar was ok with us. The chairs are extremely uncomfortable in the bar area. We would have preferred a table, even if we had to wait. Gggrrr. Food is always good, but we might have gotten scallop and salmon entrees if our initial experience with the host was good.
Great food and beer selection. Staff was awesome.
Food was reasonably priced and fantastic. Drinks were great too. Our service was amazing as well. Not to mention the overall atmosphere was awesome between the dining room itself and the hotel it's built into. Would definitely recommend if you're up in central NH as a stop over if you're traveling or as a place to stay if you're looking for a ski weekend. Will definitely go again if I get the chance.
Awesome place. The decor is great. Our food was also great. Loved the chicken and waffles. My wife loved the steak tips.
It was warm and cozy, and has a pretty cat (she's so soft);
Friendly, attentive service and great food. One of our local favorites for sure.
Wonderful atmosphere and great food! I highly recommend this place.
Great food in a funky mill atmosphere.
Wow what a place very unique and we'll thought out . The staff was very attentive and the food excellent. I had the ahai tuna appetizer and I have to say that they nailed it! My friend had the wings and shared them also very good. Next time I am in Plymouth this will be my first stop.
We dropped in on a very busy saturday and were very well looked after. A table was found and we were served in very good time despite the restaurant being completely full. The food is above the standard I would expect, if a little over complicated, and the atmosphere was great- the building and interior help a lot!
Very consistent quality presented by good waitstaff with a comfortable, family friendly / sports bar flavor.
Good place for drinks... needs to stay open later at night..
Cozy, nice people. Great burger!
Great quality food great service great atmosphere I strongly recommend
Excellent food at all Comman Man restaurants exceptionally The Farm House restaurant
We had a large group of people and we ordered appetizers to share. The service was quick and efficient! Food was hot and fresh! The flat breads were nothing to get excited about. The deviled eggs were quite good but the star was the Rueben Fritters. Best thing I ate that night. Drinks were good and many of our group got the steak tips and loved them. I have to say the pork schnitzel with Maker's Mark cream sauce was another star. My Foster's Duck Melt was good but not spectacular. Our group shared a few desserts. The only one that I enjoyed was the peach and blackberry cobbler. Again, not amazing.... but pretty good. The service was prompt and concise, which I always appreciate and it gained an entire star for my review.... the food, that gets 3 stars.
Good place to shop for items you may need or not still good place to
Great food and service as always!
Fantastic stop with kids!
Decided I needed a get away, and ended up in Campton, NH for a couple of days. I got hungry and searched for a place to eat that I couldn't easily get to any other day of the week. This place looked interesting, so I decided to give it a try. First, it's attached to a really nice looking inn. I forget the name at the moment, but it was just so well decorated I'm thinking about making another trip up north just to stay there a couple days. Then I got to the restaurant. I was alone so I sat at the bar. The bartender was quick to acknowledge me, and promptly told me about the beers on tap, making sure to tell me about local breweries. I forget the name of the beer because it has a weird name, but it was a double IPA and was quite incredible. I got calamari for an app and the brisket mac and cheese for dinner. My God, I would have never thought to put brisket in mac and cheese, and it was amazing. Between the atmosphere, the service, and the food, I plan on going back to that inn to stay there and eat at the Boiler Room again. If you're visiting that area, I'd say it's a must.
Great atmosphere, food not too shabby, go again no problem
Great pub with lots of levels and outdoor patio on the roof. Very cool setting.
Lovely, quiet, quaint place. Everyone loved their meal. Reuben fritters to die for. Confit pulled duck sandwich was phenomenal. Comes on sourdough but I asked for brioche roll instead and was not disappointed. Our waitress was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Couldn't find a thing wrong with this place if I tried.
Great atmosphere, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable.
A very nice down under place. To get something to eat and drink. A place to visit .
Great food , manager Steven Southworth is awesome.
Fantastic place , great food, great service would definitely recommend!!!!!
I love this place! Our family lives close by and this is our restaurant of choice for the burgers and appetizers. They have a small menu but we've never been disappointed by anything we've ordered and atmosphere is wonderful.
They made a "Back Porch Lemonade" (cocktail) that I have not found anywhere else. It was terrific!
The only place in NH that is better than the Common Man. Try the reuben bites. So damn good.
Great food, drinks and staff, convenient location/parking, and they’re great at accommodating large parties.
Never disappoints. Meals are hot and insanely good!
Great casual dining, great food, too!
This honestly is just my favorite place ever
