Lots of daily specials, including appetizers, entrees, "adult beverages", etc., and when you add the specials to the regular menu items, you end up with a LOT of options. Quite a bit of fish & seafood, plenty of "land animals" (steak, chicken), some really yummy pasta choices, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas....I was pleasantly surprised in the number of options. There's something for everyone, including vegetarian and gluten-free. Located in Newbury Harbor allows access by boat in the summer, and a very short drive (5 min) from Mt. Sunapee in the ski season. The staff is very friendly & there's an eclectic group of "regulars", a la "Cheers" tv show. Nice views of Lake Sunapee.

I brought my mother here for Mother's Day and chose the perfect time to go as it wasn't busy at all! Elizabeth S was our server and she was awesome! Despite having one heck of a morning rush. The food was delicious as were the drinks! The menu is fairly expensive, but for the location, view and amount of food you get it's all worth it!

Stopped at Bubba's for lunch while riding my motorcycle with my wife. The photo is from across the street, they do have their own parking lot. The food was very good quality and taste. Excellent value, with diverse menu chioces, we had trouble choosing from the tasty looking options. I had two appetizers, the seafood chowder and the crab cakes. Both were very good, the chowder was chock full of seafood. The crab cakes were good with a thin panko bread crumb crust. My wife had a chicken sandwich with cheese and bacon on a gluten free bun. They have other gluten free choices.

This review is based off of two experiences to this establishment and both were horrid because you continue to ignore the fact that you routinely include an allergen in your menu items and not disclose it to customers. About a year ago I ordered a Baconator from your menu and asked to have no onion only to get home and bite into it and get a mouthful of onions. Now I can understand putting onions into an infused burger, but it should still be disclosed on your menu. When I complained the last time, your refused to refund my order. I decided to try again tonight(shame on me for thinking my concerns were heard the last time) and I ordered Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo. I just got home and opened my food and was OVERWHELMED by the smell of onions. Who puts ONIONS in ALFREDO?!?!? I have never seen anything like it before and I was a chef for almost 10 years. And again, if you are going to do that, you need to warn people. This is twice now that I have paid your establishment for food that I can not eat. I also want to mention that when I brought up my concerns the last time, that I was told that you agreed that something like onions should be disclosed on the menu if it is a menu item ingredient, but I notice you still don't care enough about your patrons to make that minor change. I will never get food from this establishment again and I plan to post this on every review site I can find.

Very nice inside and a nice staff. The burger I ate was good, but I make better. I suggest trying it if you are a burger person. Chowder was good, but have had better. Fries are pretty good. Have also had a few sandwiches, all are worth trying. Great view of the lake is very pleasant and relaxing. If you are in the area, it's worth the try!

Tourist trap. Seafood platter consisted of 6 shrimp, 4 scollaps and 2 small pieces of fish. Very heavily battered. Plate was 2/3s sweet potatoe fries. All for $23.00 plus tax. Could have gone to Nicks or Newarks and gotten twice as much seafood for less or the same price. Service was mediocre with 6 small mistakes made. Atmosphere was tense and 2 mistakes made at the register upon payout while I was there. Recommend finding somewhere else. Was wondering why so many people were ordering the large cheese pizza. Cheapest thing on the menu. Recommend Salt Hill Pub up the road.

Good food with friendly options. Large kids menu and many gluten free options. Limited outdoor seating. Accessible by foot from the boat docks in the Newbury Harbor. Has an ice cream stand around back in the summer. I highly recommend this restaurant and reservations during heavy boating times.

I have a food allergy and specifically asked for ingredients of the pizza to be checked to avoid getting sick. Waitress said I was good to go - unfortunately I've spent the last 10 hours of my stay in New Hampshire in pain due to an allergic reaction. Please be more careful when it comes to food allergies!! For someone with a severe allergy this can be detrimental

We are locals who frequent Bubba's from time to time, as we've found the food and service generally good (albeit not inexpensive). Last night was such an exception that we're not likely to return any time soon (if ever). My wife's $10 margarita was not as ordered and then its replacement proved to be very watered down. She isn't a picky eater, but her seafood chowder was inedible--gelatinous goo in the center of the bowl that jiggled when the bowl was shaken slightly (and wouldnt mix together with the rest of the bowl contents). I tried it (I'm definitely not a picky eater after many years eating Army food) and also found it inedible (slimy and tasteless). Her "Maryland Crabcakes" were flat, mushy patties that bore no resemblence to any "Maryland-style" crabcakes in our experience (either in looks or taste, which were definitely "meh". My wife described them as inferior to what one can buy in the grocery store frozen food section.) My "Chef's Pasta" was delivered with shrimp vice the scallops listed in the Menu's entree description (and certainly not noticed by the server, who had to go back and verify it should have come with scallops). To Bubba's credit, she offered to have some scallops pan fried for me, but since I was sitting there with the prepared food in front of me, I chose to eat what I had, but requested a price consistent with shrimp rather than scallops. The pasta proved quite good, but Bubba's only saw fit to decrement the price a whole $2, which seemed pretty chintzy. Anyway, all in all a very expensive mistake. I don't see a return to Bubba's for a long while.

This place is fantastic, highly recommend! There are always some great options on the specials menu, and the Lobster Roll and Whole-belly Clam Roll are excellent! The staff is always warm, welcoming and prompt, and they have a good selection of beers on draft, too. The new outdoor seating is a bit for sure, and is unique in Newbury Harbor.

Beautiful restaurant, beautiful setting on the lake... But wow, their "award winning chowder" was terrible. It was so thick that it was almost gelatinous. When our (very sweet) server set it in front of me, it shook not unlike Jell-O. I had two tiny bites, and had to set it aside. I got it to go--don't know why. I ate a third of the oyster crackers it came with, and that's about it.

I was seated. Got no silverwhere and had a menu from lunch when i had arrived for dinner. The sever never asked us about drinks to start our order and i sat there with my girlfreind with the wrong menu and no drinks for 50 min with no sign of our server befor leaving. The best part was the lady at the counter thanked us for comming in. We didnt even get to order drinks.

Great waitress, very pleasant! Wedge salad had several spoiled leaves of lettuce. Could not eat it. Should not have been served. Fried green beans were tasty and hot. Good Cobb salad. Fried clams (app) were sparse and slightly warm but good for $16. We try every year but never really happy. Stick with drinks and apps. Great location.

Second visit, once in season and in May. In season Bubbas is very busy, noisy but if you're in that kind of mood....Beautiful view of Mt. Sunapee. Not sure about outside seating. The service was actually better in season then off, we had to request a server after waiting to long. The food was good both times, my beef was cooked as requested and veggies tender but not over cooked. I was VERY pleased to see fiddlehead ferns as the veg. of the day. A spring time treat in NH!!! They were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Consistent food at a colorful tourist area ☆☆☆1\2

Stopped in for a meal on my way home from upstate Maine. I enjoyed another tasty meal. Pleased with the service. Great burger, cooked the way l requested it. I enjoyed it. Visited the site decades ago when riding snowmobiles, bouncing off the top of the mountain this was a great place to visit for food and drink, also fueled up the sled. Recently looking for a good burger I remembered this place and drove from Ma. The food was delicious as l remembered it to be. Need to watch the time of day since a lot of people were here when I arrived, parking lot was tight, but enough room in side. Guess could park across the street if wanting to. Nice place to eat good food for a reasonable price too, enjoy the staff and a good meal. My rule of thumb is to only eat at a place that has cars or vehicles in the parking lot, the more the better, usually means good food Mr. P.

Patio window is excellent, make no mistake. Do not go inside. Terrible service, food made me sick...on two separate occasions a year apart. The chowder smelled rotten so I didn't even touch it, and still got sick from something. Vacation ruined. This place used to be awesome, don't know what happened.

We used to love ordering takeouts from Bubbas over past several summers but today was a disappointment: We got a salad ($9.99) and the Boathouse seafood platter ($21.99). The “platter” consisted of two small pieces of fish, four (4!) shrimp, and three scallops. Frankly when we got home and opened the box I couldn’t believe it - it looked like a meager leftover, it was actually half empty! In the past, the same platter would have easily fed two. I was actually still hungry when I finished. If it weren’t for a twenty minute drive I would have gone back to ask what happened with this order. I’m very disappointed... Given the history, though, I’d like to give Bubbas a second chance, maybe dine in and compare the same dish...Advice: look inside your takeout box before you walk away...

Was told there would be a twenty minute wait. When we came back after twenty minutes (they just write your name down on paper, no buzzers so you won't know when they're ready for you) they told us it would be another twenty minute wait. We ended up waiting a total of an hour to be seated and then another 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Food was adequate, but not amazing. Very noisy inside with music playing on top of the chaos. Not worth the wait.

Don't let the name fool you, they have a great selection of food here and it's always good. Easy to get to with an excellent view of the harbor. Try the prime rib egg rolls if they have them. They're awesome but they tend to run out of them.

They have some gluten free options. We had a pizza. We designed our own - fresh mozzarella, marinara sauce, roasted garlic and spinach. It was quite tasty IMO because I like crunchy things. The crust was extremely crunchy at the edge where no sauce was (think biscotti). The crust had herbs baked into it which was nice. I personally would have liked a bit more spinach and roasted garlic because I just like them. One thing they are missing is dessert, none of them are gluten free.

Bubba's Baconator was the bomb. Wings were great too. But, the onion rings won the order. Crisp, thinly sliced Vidalia onions fried to perfection. So worth the price. Incredible value in a beautiful setting. Can't wait to go back.

Ordered chefs special which was NY strip medium rare with lobster and hollandaise sauce with coleslaw and veggie ........... food came steak was well done and it NY strip as it had nothing but fat all over it hardly any meat coleslaw was just mixed up veggies and that's about the extent of it asked for a new plate and was told not a problem 10 mins later I received another steak not another plate just a steak and this one had even more fat on it I got 10 bites total place is more like a lunch type restaurant Def not a fancy dinner place waitstaff could use some classes in proper etiquette and appearance maybe clean the silverware a little better heard many rave things about bubbas and I'm sorry to report none of them I got to experience for myself will not be back ever thanks for the 90 dollar tab with mediocre choices if there ever were choices to begin with do not waste your time or money ....................

We love Bubba's!!!Busy,but we were seated almost immediately upon arrival.(No reservation!!!)All staff busy, but very friendly and engaging.Ordered steak and fries, (medium and well done, respectively) and very impressive.Steak juicy, fries delish!!!Veg DU jour was green beans, also perfect!My beloved ordered salmon, tasty but a little on dry side for her liking.Promptly received boxes for take-home on request.Overall, pleased with our experience...would recommend you bring a hearty appetite, and prepare for deliciousness!!!

Food is ok. WORST SERVICE EVER. The hostess had no clue what she was doing. Once we got seated our waitress was horrible. She had no personality and at time even rude to my kid. It only got worse once the bill came, she disappeared forever. When she finally came back, we found out she gave us the wrong change by $35. Waited even longer for her to come by finally I had to ask another waitress to go get her. When she came back to the table I began to explain that I felt there was a mistake with the bill, she rudely throw $40 on the table and stormed off. I have never seen anything so unbelievably rude. Not to mention it was my daughter birthday and it just ruined the night. Over 2 hours being there. This is not the first time either. The one other time I went there the waitress double charged my credit card. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!

This place is great for the burgers, bar food and drinks they serve, after that, they do ok at best. Seriously though, these guys have great burgers and drinks. If you dock on sunapee or happen to be coming from the state beach up the road stop in grab a bite. They serve ice cream too, Window service and outdoor seating with a lake view.
