I was there last night and I wanted to go to the wine bar but it wasn't open. Food was tasty but two pieces of bread for two people? Really? You couldn't give us more?

This French bistro is in the location of the old Mirable cafe, which I used to love. The main entre of duck duo was excellent. It was tasty, prepared perfectly, with interesting sides. The shrimp and scallops appetizer was a bit bland and I did not like it as much as I expected. The flowerless chocolate cake was quite a bit more cakey than I expected from a flowerless chocolate cake, it was not smooth. The wait staff is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is nice.

Amazing food. Amazing staff. Went here for a special birthday night and Chris and her staff went above and beyond to make this an exceptional experience. Always consistent, they’ve been in Portsmouth for a couple decades now and it keeps getting better!

My wife and I enjoyed a very special dinner at this restaurant, as we often have in the past. My comment to the event was, as usual, spectacular. Superb food, superb staff, superb chef and a wonderful evening. I have always believed that if you want good food, most can provide it; but if you want food as art, only the French can provide it and Chef Stephen is a perfect example. Would not change a thing and aside from recommending to anyone, am looking forward to my next visit.

What a wonderful dining experience we recently had at "Bridge Street Bistrot & Wine Bar". The food is absolutely outstanding! There are so many choices. The food is prepared to perfection and very nicely presented. We dined in the wine bar area of the restaurant. It is very intimate and inviting for both dining or sipping wine. The town of Portsmouth should be proud that Stephan and Christine are keeping old world French traditions alive by making such wonderful dishes. You won't be disappointed dining here!

Cozy and comfortable. Great service. Delicious escargot and Coquille! Parisian Cosmo was perfect! We really liked it! They came with a nice surprise for our romantic dinner chocolate strawberries! Would recommend!

The French know a lot more about pleasing the pallet than Americans. This restaurant experience is like being transported to the Champs d'Elyse. You'll have a good meal. It operates under a different name now, though. Bridge Street Cafe, I believe.

Cannot speak highly enough about this place. I've only ever frequented one Portsmouth "cafe" and decided to venture out tonight. God am I so happy I did. The music, the atmosphere, the service, the wine selection, the food... I could go on and on. I am beyond impressed and now have a new stomping ground for my business trips here. Ps- get the creme brulee!!! Best I've ever had. Seriously, surpassed some cafes in Paris. I'm still drooling.

Very delicious food. The duck was cooked perfectly and was so full of flavor and very juicy. The goat cheese chicken in phillo dough was unique and had a great flavor also. The wine selection was good and had a wide range of prices. The waitress was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

This was such a wonderful dining experience! The atmosphere was so cozy! Our waitress was fabulous and helped us make Awesome choices. The chef prepared our filet and salmon with scallops the way that we like it! You can tell there's a gifted chef preparing the meals, the pastries the desserts, all the spices blended so well together. Truly amazing! One of the best meals we've ever had!

Perfect place for a romantic, cozy date night. We had made a reservation and were seated promptly. We each ordered the steak au poivre and it was perfectly prepared, very delicious! The potato pancake which was one of the side options was so good. The creme brulee and profiterole dessert we're a perfect ending to a nice dinner. Service was friendly and attentive, atmosphere is inviting and quaint. Would recommend and will return again.

My wife and I had an incredible dinner last Friday at Bridge Street Bistrot. Sevice was amazing in the beautiful upstairs dining room. Great selection of wines and homemade desserts! A must go to restaurant next time we are in Portsmouth!!
