We've got all the reviews of real people like you who purchase the services of Brick House Family Restaurant (Restaurant) in the area close to New Hampshire.
Right now this business receives a score of 3.7 over 5 and the score has been calculated on 174 reviews.
You may have noticed that it has an average rating is quite high, and it is founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may be quite sure that the valuation is quite accurate. If people have bothered to rate when they are happy with the business, it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to put feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of Family restaurant.
Very tasty food, attentive servers. Some dishes a little pricey.Good experience overall.
It was good. Our appetizers were given to someone else BUT, they gave our appetizer A 50% off. Which we thought was reasonable. The captain platter was good the clams were totally over cooked. We will go back again. Great Bartender...
Good food, high-end feel great service but prices are high.
great place
Hit the spot
Great spot for a wonderful meal. Service is friendly and keeps everything moving nicely. Love a hot pizza right out of their wood fired oven. You won't be disappointed.
They have no Gluten free pizza. Used to be great.
My favorite pizza ever
Our waitress was awesome. Drinks were great. Food could gave been a bit warmer. Overall a great atmosphere & great service. Will definitely be going back.
Loved the steak and mashed potatoes. Yum!
Wife found hairs in her salad and owner was very rude and condescending.
Food was excellent. Service with a smile . Prices normal for what we are used too. We are from MA and will definitely be back!
High priced . Low quality.
My family ate here for lunch, and were pleasantly surprised. The other reviews are pretty mixed, but we really thought it was clean and the food was good. Portions are large and it might be a little expensive, but not so much as to be shocking. The sandwiches we got were both $13 and the children's menu is $5 with a large number of choices. It's very open and I can see how it could go loud with lots of people and music at night, but lunch was quiet.
Great food, music good just to loud.
Dry salmon, broccoli little under cooked, potato....well....but company good....
Good value and excellent food. More than sufficient quantity of food. Very good service.
Food was good. A bit disorganized when we were there.
Great food, great drinks and Fantastic staff.
Great food cozy place
Great food
Good food
Good food and friendly staff. A perfectly lovely Sunday evening dinner after exploring SW NH. I had yummy steak tips cooked to perfection with roasted potatoes and a nice salad. No complaints from us.
Great food. Nice restaurant
Last night ordered a small veggie lovers pizza which was pathetic. No broccoli, no tomatoe, no red onion...maybe half a dozen mishrooms and green peppers on the entire pizza for $16.50. Up to you, if you want to waste your money, but I’ll NEVER SET FOOT IN THERE AGAIN. They also don’t offer bread any more. Imagine! Charging you outrageous prices for inferior food and not even putting down a basket of bread.
Great place
Food was excellent along with atmosphere!
3rd time that we have been unhappy. First 2 were take out, this time was in restaurant. 7 people. I ordered 3 apps, chicken tenders, potato skins, moz sticks. All 3 were over cooked, crispy dark brown. The tenders came without the asked for sauce. One dinner was steak, the steak was ice cold, must have been sitting there a while. When told, the waitress asked if we wanted it warmed up???? seriously? Steak?? He just asked for a box to take home to his dog. Offered a dessert (no discount on bill). The chicken tender dinner came with out the fries. Hard to not notice a mostly empty plate. The seafood platter came with out the asked for vegetable. The chicken parm dinner had cold pasta under it. This was a Wednesday at 5:30, not very busy and service was extremely slow. Waitress did not return to our table very often. Drink order took a long time to receive. I dont normally post bad reviews because I know how hard it is for a small business, but this was just too many problems to ignore. Very expensive also for poor quality.
Amazing food. A little on the pricier side but worth it!
1 star only because of the final waitress! Will not be back again. Food could have been good had anything been right and food actually warm. First off our waiter was drunk and had completely glassy red eyes. Drinks were slow but that was ok. We were a party of 7 with 3 checks and seating in an organized way for ease. 3 appetizers were order but only 2 came out. One party got their 'side salads' before their appetizers. Appetizer was forgotten to be put on order by waiter (this was the very first thing ordered). When we all got food however, not much better. Fisherman's platter was not as expected and food was cold. Then both steak tip meals were cold and not juicy whatsoever. This was unexpected since they are 'Jack Daniels marinated'. One was suppose to have roasted potatoes but instead was served with mashed potatoes and gravy. Gravy was extremely over seasoned and plain disgusting. This was not the end by any means. When the waiter was informed in was not suppose to be mashed potatoes he said he'd get that corrected. A few minutes passed and he returned with deep fried potatoes. When he was asked if they were really roasted his response was yes and he's 100% sure of that. Then he argued with me. We ended up speaking with another waitress named Demetria. She was awesome and did everything to help us. She spoke with the manager who didn't seem to want to do much for us or talk with us. The manager told the waitress to tell us what she could do. The waitress told us that the manager said that she would comp 2 meals and discount the bill 25%. That sounded all good but it's not what really happened. The managers idea of comping a meal was taking $3.50 off each meal and no discount of 25%. What about the appetizer that came well after the others and just before the food? Nothing! The manager stayed behind the bar and seemed to not want to have anything else to do with us. Then We could clearly hear the manager and our original waiter complaining about us complaining. They seemed to not like to hear complains. We will not be back. We will not recommend. We will however go to ANY restaurant that Demetria is employed at, that's for sure. I hope that this review help other patrons and maybe the business to fix some issues.
Could have been better the cook wasn't there had a different person cooking than usual so I couldn't get what I wanted but wasn't bad.
We were passing through the area and stopped here on a whim when we were all starving after a day of visiting covered bridges. We live 60 miles away but will be back even if the only reason is just for another dinner here! I have no idea what's up with the poor reviews because we experienced anything but! The homemade salsa and guac were delicious! My mother loved the burrito bowl and she usually doesn't even look at Mexican food. My chicken dinner was done just right and my son loved the kids burger. Other reviews say the prices are high, but I feel they're what you'd expect for a family run place in a small town. They are actually lower than comparable places I've been to. The environment couldn't be better, as it's a very well taken care of place. The restroom was very clean. Waitress was pleasant. Thank you, Brick House! You exceeded our expectations!
waitress was great. I found two hairs in my salad which I brought to my waitresses attention. She took it to the owner who brought it back to the table tried telling me it was my hair. Only one person in that kitchen was wearing any kind of head covering. All this coming from the owner whose buttcrack was hanging out of his pants as he walked around the resturant and in the kitchen. Also, I'm a redhead and those hairs were clearly brunette and much longer then my hair. Will not be back.
The food was pretty good, nothing too special. They opened at 12 on the Sunday that we went and there was only one waitress on duty. There were two other tables occupied when we got there. We were seated and it took about 10 minutes to have them take our drink order. Two groups of people left before being seated, presumably because they were waiting so long to be seated. Took an additional 15 minutes before our lunch order was taken and at least 45 minutes before it was brought out.
Very very expressive for what you get. Pizza is ok, but not worth $15 for a small. The staff is nice and prompt. But the drinks are overpriced along with the food. Probably won't be going back.
Food is good.
Nice atmosphere, very clean and new look. we got the nachos for an appetizer and the house oven pizza. Both were great.
Great, friendly service. Delicious food, portions worth the price.
Took my mom out to dinner. She had fish and chips and a baked potato. You're a potato is cold her fish was good I had a regular cheeseburger with fries my fries were cool and limp and my cheeseburger was warm. Service was good but it seemed to take forever to get our food. It was also very cold in the restaurant. Food was average but high-priced. I would try the place once more but after that I don't think I come back.
Got sat, waited 15 minutes to get our drinks, ordered an app which took over 20 minutes to get and our food took 45 minutes after placing order, our order consisted of a meat lovers pizza and a side of rice. Won’t come her again. Overpriced, slow and not worth it.
not Soper good
Great deck and food
Service is slow here. The food is pretty generic.
Great atmosphere. Great food. Great prices.
Such a great atmosphere! Amazing food and drink!
Good food and service
Excellent pizza and steaks
Overpriced for the area and the owner is extremely arrogant! If you look at the restaurants in this area they have the lowest rating. My advice, try some of the other local restaurants where they appreciate your business.
Pizza was under cooked staff not well trained!
The Brick House offered quality food, menu selection, service and facility was very clean! Recently moved here from CA and this was a great find for us! We will visit the Brick House often!
It's Ok not the best pizza around for sure.
Great food, happy and polite staff very friendly, and a great selection of beer and drinks. Fair prices.
Same exact food quality as every other place in town for triple the price. Decorated fancy executed cheaply. In the end completely overpriced for only ok food.
Food and atmosphere great.
We enjoyed our dinner tonight. Everything was perfect. Great atmosphere and they had the football game on!! The server was awesome!! Definitely will be dining here again.
Food was good but I miss the bread they use to serve, the new flat bread is not very good, it was cold when it was served and our waitress was very very slow and the restaurant was'nt even busy. I would definitely order pick up next time b/c the food was good.
Stopped in on a Monday night with the family after a long day. Wait staff was very pleasant and the place was very clean. Food wasn't bad, and the menu had a nice variety. I'll definitely be back.
Good food, for the most part. Nice atmosphere. Best appetizer is the maple syrup bacon wrapped scallops. Nice bar, good menu selection. Friendly staff.
Good food, nice wait staff.
Here's a place with some potential but the wrong owner. The deals / specials posted on the website are either incorrect or only apply if you sit AT the bar (not in the bar).. but physically at the bar. I don't understand why a food special would matter where you sit. The entire staff seems demoralized and frustrated. The food is overpriced. Some of it was good, some of it sucked.
Ok, Guys. Nobody wants The Brick House to succeed more than me. But, you have to do something about the kitchen. Our waitress was very pleasant and apologetic for the undercooked burger my wife ordered which took 20 minutes to re-make. I tolerated mine but only ate half because it was cold in 5 minutes. My son's chicken tenders were dry and tasteless. My dad's haddock sandwich was ok but they put so much cole slaw on it he had to scrape it off to eat it. Bottom line: update the kitchen staff before you end up having to close the doors. People don't want to pay these prices for mediocre food. Please! I want to see you succeed.
The friendliest service I feel that I've gone in a small restaurant but with a big menu the food is to die for every employee there is a team player and they work together which you can see that keep up the great work brick house
Great service but the whole clams appeared to be strips and the scallops we're not much bigger than bay and way overcooked.
Very nice people and good food
My family and I were hungry and decided to try it for the first time . So we ordered steak tips dinner with mash potato and chicken and steak combo plate with rice and a cheeseburger with fries . We asked for the meat to be cooked medium and it was cooked all well done, everything seemed to be very salty and the rice and chicken tasted like lemons. We were very disappointed and will not be going there again. I hate to say this but we were better off going to McDonalds. Bottom line the food was disgusting.
Dinner was very good. Service was a little slow.
Delicious sums it up
Great staff....good food....unexpected beers on tap. Wow....they have lamb chops.... I had four. have with a cabernet, merlot, or Sharaz JeffP
My son was taking myself and his preteen daughters for dinner for my birthday. Waited 25 minutes for our drinks and appetizer also slow to come out. When ordering a 2nd drink it was taking forever and we were frustrated, my son asked for the bill and boxes, the waitress got rude and went to get Kiki who came over and got in our face and told us to get the f?!@ out. I have been doing business with these people for 20 plus years and they know me. Kiki was pushing us out the door and threatening to call the police which I gladly would have stayed there for as she had pushed my granddaughters as well as myself and was dropping the f-bomb in front of children. As long as you go and have hours to wait and don't mind poor service you will be fine. By the way another table of 4 had just gotten up and walked out and they were already upset by that and calling the police on them...hillsboro tax dollars at work showing up every time someone is upset with their poor service. Will not be going there again nor to Hillsboro House of Pizza.
Amazing! Such a great place!
Highly recommend!! Great food with a huge menu selection...My family and I are regular customers!! The waitstaff and bartenders ( ask for Nina, Alli, Lindsey, Riley)are attentive and personable!! Sea scallops specials, Fisherman's platter, Fried clams, Brickkhouse Mac & Cheese & Steak tips are ALWAYS great! Fresh made French fries and onion rings are on point!! Fri/Sat nights take longer but order drinks and it works out!!
Their claim chowder is great ! Nice people too.
Went on a Wednesday night with my teenage son. He had a B.Y.O.B (build your own burger) and french fries and I had the marinated steak tips and sweet potato fries. Everything tasted very fresh and yummy. It grew to be kind of busy as this was Wine Wednesday, half off glasses or bottles of wine or half off glasses of sangria. I opted for a bottle and they put the remainder of the bottle with the inverted cork in to a sealed plastic bag with purchase receipt for traveling home. This was probably my fourth or fifth visit ever to the Brick House restaurant, my first time on a Wednesday, and it won't be my last! Thanks to our server Rachel as it was her first Wednesday too and she was training someone new as well. ☺️
This place is a rip-off! I just picked up a "large" take out cheese pizza. When I ordered it, I specifically asked how big it was and was told 16 inches. When I picked it up, the pizza seemed small so I went back in to ask if it was in fact a large. I was told yes. When I got it home I measured it and it wasn't even 14 inches. And the charged me $15.50? Go elsewhere.
Great pizza, wonderful atmosphere! One of our go to places!
this place rocks , but the prices are throught the damn roof.. I mean $16 for a Pep. Pizza ?! holy S***
Excellent menu food is great drinks are spot on
Got the chicken nachos they where ok . didn't care for the fact they use canned chicken. Also ordered strawberry daiquiri they had no strawberries even thou they had a special on strawberry martinis. Other then that service wonderful clean . would go back .
Really good food and drinks...
We just tried to go here for lunch. It's Saturday, right at lunch time and there was one lady in there working. She was hostessing, waiting tables, and bartending. We waited to be sat, we waited to put in an order, which we wanted to just put our food order in and she wouldn't let us. There were other tables that still hadn't put their orders for food and she wanted to get to them first. So she took our order for two sodas, and we waited, and waited and waited for them. We got up and left. As we were walking out she was coming with our sodas. We left anyway. Why would any restaurateur have one person working on a Saturday at lunch time? I felt bad for her, it wasn't her fault but I'm not waiting around for hours for lunch. Get some help for that place or close up shop and focus on your pizza place!
Good drinks, great pizza and wings. Always nice service.
Had the crab cakes which were very good but strangely they did not officer and sides with the meal. Friendly service
Great pizza
Absolutely Love the Pizza dough
Great food, drinks, and friendly staff.
Went here with some adult family, 5 people in all, on a Saturday afternoon. We were not sure what to expect as it was our first time here. Well, we were impressed! The restaurant is clean and modern, but not overdone. It's comfortable. It has a small town feel but welcoming to outside travelers. How about the food? It blew us away! It was rustic and delicious, and had a professional touch to it. Portions were very generous and everything appeared to be made from scratch with great workmanship. We live in Hillsboro and our other family members have a seasonal site at the local campground which means we will visit often this summer of 2019! Thank you Brick House for making us feel so comfortable and welcome.
I should have read the reviews prior to subjecting myself to this guy's version of a restaurant. HORRIBLE! Since I refuse to waste any more time with this place. We sat, it took forever, pizza for my son came, the appetizer came later and cold, the entrees were walking out as I mentioned the appetizer to the waitress, I refuse to eat everything at once, the waitress sends it all back, we wait while four parties who sat after us eat, I tell the waitress that I'm not interested any longer, the owner takes 20% off the total bill for $89+- (which I never got), I ask to see him, I'm refused, we pay and tip the waitress $20, Otw home I sell products which I sell online; WAY surpassing this POS's bill. KARMA RULES, the town of Hillsboro should shut this shyster down!!! Don't bother, you're guaranteed disappointment!
The food is good service is horrible. My wife always says it's run by kids who can't handle people
The owner of this place was rude beyond belief! He was berating and intimidating his staff loudly. Food was only fair and slow to arrive! I will NEVER eat there again!
Went for breakfast this morning. They were out of 3 breakfast items. The service was soooo slow. After waiting 20 to 25 minutes for our food, it was cold for the most part, the bacon wasn't cooked through, the toast didn't look toasted etc. It was not a good experience and I will not go back.
Great atmosphere, good food, quick service.
We eat here often. The food is very good and the staff is friendly, fast, and efficient. The menu offers something for everyone at reasonable prices. The atmosphere can be challenging. If the bar is even a little busy the volume in the room precludes polite conversation. The noise level is almost freakish in it's volume. The staff was happy to move us to table further from the cacophony when we asked but they could really use some noise dampening technology.
Beautiful atmosphere meals was fresh excellant
Poor service and food prices very high for quality
Wish I lived closer because I would be here on the regular! We got the scallops wrapped in bacon with maple glaze, steak tips in Jack Daniels marinade, steak & cheese on ciabatta with sauteed mushrooms and onions ... all were absolutely delicious! Stellar service from Abbey! From the moment we walked through the door, she was bubbly, interactive and attentive. Kudos to the kitchen for such yummy food and to the owner for hiring Abbey! Very charming interior and exterior. Very clean. Again, I wish I lived closer!
Food is pretty good. Probably my favorite pizza in town. Never seems too busy. Prices are a bit high, but usually only my wife and I so we never spend a whole lot.
Good atomosphere, good food, a little slow service wise
ordered a 16" pizza from them for the first time, thought it was a bit small when I arrived home with it. I measured it and it was 14", when I spoke with the establishment I was informed that it was 20 oz of dough so it is the same as a 16" pizza even though I was cheated out of the topping for the last two inches that they forgot. I can see that they would do this to cut down on the cost of each pizza but it should not be advertised as a 16" pizza if they are not going to deliver a 16" pizza. I hope it taste good enough to make-up for the pizza that was not delivered to me.
By far the best buffalo mac n cheese around. Quality all around. And I know my buffalo mac... ;)
Good food but got romaine lettuce when the recall was going on. Easy fix with no problems.
Excellent pizza. Great menu and service.
Great breakfast....service in Hillsborough is generally slow.. But the food delish
Been here several times - food has been good so I returned last night for a visit and ended up walking out after sitting for 15 minutes without being served. Three parties came in after my party and were seated and served drinks, orders taken and no waitress showed up at our table - not sure there was even a waitress serving the section we were in. Food is good (from a previous visit), place is clean, the host seats your right away - those are the pluses. If you go, just be prepared for slow wait staff or none at all....
Disappointed with the food we had this time. Maybe it's just a fluke.
Good food and friendly waitresses. Good choices of food or pizza. Beer, wine or your favorite liquor drinks. Restaurant is clean & the bathrooms too.
Awesome food, readonable prices.
No bacon on the pizza the salad was $6 nothing in it and all soggy. The mac and cheese was $12 there was nothing in it had no flavor.
Horrible. Ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad wrap and the chicken was like chewing rubber. Won't be going back.
New cook, slow service and almost no cheese on my French onion soup. All my other food was great.
Best place in town to eat
Great food and atmosphere. The owner comes out and chats with customers.
Little pricey but food is good, the fried pickles are spot on
The food is good, but it's much too expensive! I won't be going there again.
I love the steak here!! Only place ever in my life I don't have to use any kind of sauce with it. I love it!!
Inconsistent service and food has potential!
Most of the family got food poisoning. Hot then a flat soda. Terrible.
Six of us go out to eat every Saturday evening and try to support local businesses so we gave this place a try. Our first experience was during opening week, and we expected them not to have all the bugs worked out, and we were right. However the woman hostess clearly knows how to run a business, and smooth out rough edges by giving us a complimentary dessert. Definitely wanted to give them another shot so we returned a few weeks later. Food is a little overpriced for the area in my opinion, one of the couples ordered pizza which was clearly undercooked. This time the owner was there, perhaps the husband of the woman I don't know? He clearly doesn't understand how to run a restaurant unlike the previous hostess. When we brought this to his attention, not only did he not try to rectify the problem, he proceeded to insult the person who pointed out the product was undercooked. Here In his words "I've cooked 1000 of those pizzas today and yours is the only one undercooked" needless to say this attitude is unprofessional. That wasn't the end though, we gave them one last shot. Gluttons for punishment I guess. This time I ordered an appetizer, paid nine dollars and received 3 1/2 chicken wings that were cold. I asked the waitress if that was the correct quantity for nine dollars? She shrugs her shoulders as though she had done this before. I asked to see the owner, Lotta good that's gonna do I thought. Well guess what, he never even gave me the courtesy to address the problem. Seeing a pattern of poor service, high prices, and marginal food quality. We will no longer patronize this business. I will tell you there is a great restaurant up the road, with consistent quality food and service. I'd highly recommend them over this place Tooky Mills Pub ...
Friendly, good food, delicious drinks. I wish I could come more often.
Very cute, has a lot of potential, however...... Chicken parm dinner was barely ok, the chicken was good but the spaghetti was awful. Not to mention it had large chunks of onion on top. That's not a garnish. The spaghetti was like chopped up too. Then we ordered chicken tenders. They were fine but frozen fries drive me crazy. It does not cost that much more to offer fresh cut fries. The potato skins had a cheese sauce under the mozzarella. It was ok. Not was I was expecting. We're not in a hurry to go back.
