Bavaria is a masterpiece. I am always impressed with both the general quality of the food and the authenticity. The jaeger schnitzel is to die for. If you can fit dessert the heisse leibe (vanilla ice cream with hot raspberries and whipped cream) is my favorite but the pfannkuchen (like a thick crepe with chocolate spread and whipped cream) is a tasty, but heavier, treat. Also, beer. Glorious, copious beer.

Having traveled extensively throughout Germany, this is the closest you will get to Authentic German/ Bavarian Cuisine, without buying a ticket. The food is absolutely outstanding. The schnitzel is a giant portion, pounded and breaded to perfection, cooked to golden brown. The sides are great. My favorite is the potato with cucumber salad. The Rouladen is also outstanding. They have a limited beer and wine menu, featuring German beers and wines. Try the Russn' you wont be disappointed. The staff is very attentive and courteous and the owners are really nice and check in frequently throughout dinner. The only restaurant of its kind in the area. I highly recommend it. I also would suggest making a reservation as they are really busy, and frequently booked up.

The atmosphere is cute sort of Barvarian kitsch, and there are only 13 tables. The appetizers, drinks, and desserts are good, but the meals are just so-so. Since they are only open a few hours a day you need reservations, and I feel that the prices are about twice as high as the quality would justify. The schnitzel was unmemorable and the mushroom sauce for the jaeger schnitzel bore a stronger resemblance to southern cream gravy than any kind of jaeger schnitzel I have had before. (Seriously swap the mushrooms for black pepper and it would be right at home on buttermilk biscuits) Overall not awful, just not a place I care to return to.

Small, decent German restaurant. Good service, good food; be sure to make reservations. Menu is heavy on sausages, but they do them well. The potato salad tasted like typical German potato salad but was puréed, which was unusual; not my favorite. I had jaegerschnitzel, which was quite good but was served in a small ocean of gravy. Will go back; would recommend.

Can't comment on the food as they would not serve us. Google said they were open until 8 pm but we were told (after waiting in the doorway and then having to walk in) " we close early on Sunday". Apparently when they close is a secret because she would not tell us. Kind of rude as we travelled some distance. By the other reviews they serve excellent food but there is more to customer service than just good food.

Authentic German Bavarian restaurant that is run by a nice German family. We have tried so many dishes here and they are all very delicious. Their beer selection is little limited for a German place but you won't be disappointed. The restaurant is always in order, clean and the service is consistently good. You are expected to make a reservation even if the whole place is empty. So, make sure you are calling ahead, sometimes a day before.

Authentic as you get Bavarian style food this side of the Atlantic. The couple is a direct import from Germany . They owned a Gasthaus in Munich and cook food as they would at home. Very tasty

Perhaps open hours should come with a warning or limitation or just not have any hours at all if reservations are a requirement? Did not get to experience dining since we were turned away on a Sunday @6pm so the one star is for poorly set expectations for people passing through. They close at 8pm according to posted hours at the time. We were on a road trip, driving through the town and noticed this spot from google maps. We did not know of the "requirement" to reserve ahead of time until we got there to be turned away for not making reservations. Extremely hungry and severely disappointed, we tucked our tails in and left, along with the family who came in after us. Lost business but from all the good reviews I'm sure they won't suffer. In hindsight, we would have been fine having a drink at the bar while waiting for seemingly delicious and authentic German food...except we weren't offered any choice but to leave. Would have been awesome if everyone had known ahead of time.

Our first trip here was excellent. The aromas that greet you at the door just add to the anticipation. The food is authentic and delicious. The German selection of beer and the authentic Oktoberfest mugs just add to the real feel of being there! The dessert menu is limited but delicious. Be aware that authenticity comes with a price, this restaurant is on the expensive end of the cost spectrum. Six of us feasted and imbibed to the tune of $300 without the tip. This indulgence will be a once in a while treat not an every week destination.

Starting with the owner and our hostess, they were very accommodating and pleasant. The we had the pork schnitzel which came with either oven baked potatoes or a potato salad mixed with cucumber. We did not try any of the sausages. The meal was ample even with no desert. I thought it was a bit pricey for the meal even with the quantity. The wine list was also a bit scant and lower quality wines at a premium price. Overall our experience was just satisfactory, but for now, been there, done that.

Small establishment with authentic "small town Germany" feel, authentic food, and purveyed by a authentic German immigrant. It's the real deal! Reservations are highly recommended. The German pretzels (in German called "Brezel") are really a great treat and are served with three kinds of mustard. The potato pancakes are delicious and served with applesauce. The portions are generous and a bit pricey but well worth the price for the occasional treat.

This was my second trip here, my first trip included sausage samplings for my hubby, and a veal dish for myself. We were disappointed. This visit we had two pork dinners and the meals although very pricey were excellent and worth the price. Plan on spending about $30.00 per plate when you consider tax. We had the cucumber salad and potatoe pancacks for an appitizer and the pancakes were amazing. I'll definitely visit again.

The food is authentic and there was nothing we ordered that came to the table less than above expectations. The mac and cheese is so filling and the wine selection is filled with tasty choices. It's run by Germans and they bring the experience to a higher level. Great family place. We will be returning many times in the future.
