Pricey food that was good but not great. Disappointing tomato sauce on my basic pasta with meatball entre. Marcella Hassan's do it yourself recipe is much richer in flavor.

I was not a big fan of the food. I ordered stuffed shells and they were swimming in sauce. There was more sauce in the bowl than anything else. I will say that the bread was fantastic though. Probably some of the best bread I have ever had. The atmosphere was alright but very dark in the back dining room. The service was absolutely outstanding. My waiter was friendly and fun so it is unfortunate that the food was so disappointing.

The service was so so . Made a reservation and we were seated right away but not in the bar area where the atmosphere was better. Be sure to not sit in the back room , request the bar area for sure. I ordered my second glass of wine which took a while and was served in a tiny carafe which was a slight pour in my wine glass 1/2 of the first pour. Not great for $16 a glass. At least give me a full pour. Food was good waited for bread. overall could have been great but will probably not go back.

Went to Andiamo's for a birthday celebration, had never been there before. Walked in and thought, wow what a cute cozy place. Loved it. SURPRISE! The hostess escorted us to our table, which was through the bar, through the restaurant, and then through the somewhat reasonable room and then into yet another room at the end of the restaurant. Was unbearably noisy, overly bright, so cold, and lacking of any atmosphere. No artwork on the walls, nothing on the ceiling to muffle the sound. Just gray paneled walls. Completely dreadful. Told the hostess, I didn't feel like hanging at the Knights of Columbus and requested another table. She said there would be one opening up in the adjoining room, which would be only slightly better, but we said we'd take it. In the meantime, my husband went back into the cozy room and requested something in there. They did accommodate us about 45 minutes later. (we did have reservations. I guess they kept the nice area for the walk-ins) Luckily we had the most delightful waitress that anyone could ask for and this helped the situation out. The drinks were fabulous. The salad was good. AS for my "medium" burger... it came out mooing, which was disconcerting. Didn't notice at first, as the edges looked ok. Ate the outer edges only which were tasty but left most of it on the plate. The chief definitely ought to pay way more attention to what he is serving. Not cool to be served such a raw burger. Food was ok other than that, put wouldn't generally pay $16 for truffle fries which is basically what I got. Just wouldn't go back considering the way it all went down. Kind of nervy to bring us through a nice restaurant only to sit us in a function hall. YUCK. Come on, spend a little cash and get that back room up to par with the front of the place. I could probably fix that place for under $1000. You're running a fine dining experience out front. For crying out loud, pull it together!!! Who needs the aggravation. Just read another review, and believe me, we didn't see any owner walking around checking on his clientele....... Whatever! Won't be running back there anytime soon...or ever for that matter.

Terrible experience ordered the muscles they were bad had to send them back then waited and waited for dinners when they finally came out had to send them back also Bolognese was like meatballs size chunks the pasta was undercooked. chicken Parm was burnt on the bottom and the pesto pasta was hard as a rock. We were there for two hours all we ate was bread! Are the manager said to us was that they were super busy and slammed in the kitchen not a good excuse

It was a nice looking restaurant, unfortunately the server took awhile. For the price my husband and I expected more out of the food, the steak was bland not a lot of flavor for a Filet mignon. The Chicken parm was good- the pasta it was served with was not however. it was very bland and served with pesto sauce. The martini I got looked as though half of it was spilt and it was not delivered as I ordered it. The bread was served in the middle of the meal- they kept saying It was in the over, but we watched 2 other tables get seated and the bread was delivered upon arrival. We always try new places- and had friends raving about this place, but for the amount of money we spent on dinner/service we received - I don't think we will be returning here again.

This was such a great ambiance, meal, and date night to be at! There was live music playing on the bar side. It was raining the day we went but there is outdoor seating on nicer days. Meals are on the smaller side but taste amazing! Also the menu is a little short. My fiance got the butternut squash filled ravioli and I tried some, very good! I got the pan seared salmon with sweet potatoes and broccoli I. The salmon was cooked really well but on the blander side, was everything else complimented it really well. Staff was friendly and service was fast! I would definitely come here again with more people!

I would give a 5 for food - drinks - and staff But don’t count on them being open My daughter and I visited there a few months ago and they closed early because of the football game Met there again tonight at 7:00 and we were told kitchen would close at 8:00. Why? Because they are slow. We said we would go else where. And we’re told no - we have a reservation at 8:00. So we aren’t going to throw you out. But they did. We ordered a glass of wine at 9:00 and as we are enjoying they turned off the lights, the music and pulled the stools. My daughter and I don’t get very many nights out. Very disappointed. We will not go back again after shutting down early on our last two visits.

Can't say enough good things about this place. The food is great--especially anything involving pasta or seafood. All the little things are great too: pre meal bread, warm and attentive service, and martinis that are a bit... plus-sized. This is easily my favorite modern Italian restaurant on the North Shore and a contender for the very competitive honor of the best meal in Newburyport.

Poor service, ignored by waitress, food came very late after order, food was fair, no checking on us, and no accommodation made. When told that we were unhappy, it was met with silence and no response. We just left, manager did nothing and server just left us. Definitely , this is a no return restaurant and not worth going to. Not a good night at this place and it is NOT recommended.

My wife and I use this as our anniversary spot. Though a little pricy for us for a normal night out, the food is phenomenal and the wait staff paid great attention to detail and we're friendly. Specials were likewise excellent.

My husband and I enjoyed a delightful dining experience here. I cannot adequately describe how wonderfully creative and flavorful are the meal preparations. I had the swordfish, and my husband the tagliatelle. It's amazing how the chef blends flavors and complimentary sides. The service is superbly friendly and attentive. Mark, our host and manager was extraordinarily good on overseeing the full customer experience. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. The bread and olive oil dip was unbelievably good. The ambience is the right blend of slightly fancy but casual. Prices are very reasonable, too. We are certain to make this an oft repeated evening out. We left feeling happy that we had truly had a lovely time and a delicious meal.

What an excellent dinner! There was six of us that got four different dinners. All of them were Great! A nice touch was that the chef came out to ask how our meals were. Everything is homemade, tasted awesome and priced reasonable. We'll be back... it was our first time, but not the last time. Highly recommended!

Excellent experience this past Friday night. The great atmosphere and outstanding staff are just the beginning. All the food is amazing as the night went on I was able to talk with other patrons and everyone there loved their food. There was dancing all night long and laughter throughout the night. I will definitely be back and intend to visit the Chelmsford location as well!!! 5 Stars are not even enough!!!

Went to the Newburyport location 7/30/17 (?). Ordered chicken parm and got a nice think slab of chicken that was entirely undercoooked. Meat was pink and rubbery inside. Think I had two bites of it before I had realized. I sent the plate back right away. It was returned to me and looked no different. If anything it was microwaved as it looked the same as what I sent back. Still very much pink inside and undercooked and in the same place on the plate. I didn't eat a bite of it from when I first sent it back. Was asked if I wanted to take it home to which I answered no. Was charged full price for the entree. I suppose I could've put up a stink but really don't feel that I should need to. I have never sent food back for not being cooked properly. Also tried the arancini and that wasn't bad. The pasta with the chicken parm was okay also but hard to enjoy given the issue with the chicken. That aside, the place is cute and the prices are alright. Beer selection is okay but nothing special. Staff was nice enough though possibly inexperienced in knowing what to do when a meal isn't right. Wait wasn't bad at all at 8pm or so on a nice summer night though it seemed fairly busy an hour prior but that's to be expected in Nbpt. There was some live entertainment which sounded decent although we sat outside so i couldn't hear it all too well but nice that it was there as an option anyway.

Atmosphere was okay, service was okay, food was disappointing and overpriced. I paid $11 for a beet salad with 4 slices of beets and mostly arugula lettuce. Glass of Pinot noir was $14. Overall NOT worth it to me. The server at first told us we had to use cocktail napkins when we ordered food separately at a networking event (we needed to sit down to enjoy it). They came back a few minutes later with proper lap napkins. I try not to go to this restaurant if I can avoid doing so. I previously had a terrible birthday experience at this restaurant and the only reason I attended on this day was to support the event being held there. This restaurant has apparently changed hands over the years, and it is no longer the great place that it sounds like it was prior. I would not recommend.

Service excellent. Sarah was our waitress. Drinks, appetizers:(calamari & aranchini) and for entrees: the filet, salmon dishes were good. Chocolate cake for dessert was yummy. It was just filling after all we ate. Portions fine, meals a bit salty but, overall we enjoyed it all, especially the ambiance.

One of us had the scampi which tasted like lemon in chicken broth with too much rind. Absent of any garlic flavor, soupy with an odd aftertaste. The other had the pork chop which was a very nice presentation... but too dry and utterly flavorless.

Pedestrian Although the waitress and manager were very good, the food did not approach its billing. I wanted to take a look into the kitchen to see why. My chicken parmigiana came with blackened edges and bottom, and the sauce was less than inspiring. I would grade the meal a D Also, I have never had so little wine by the "glass" at any restaurant. So....get a new head chef and put an ounce or two more in the wine glasses. Until then, I'll spend my money elsewhere.
