We really had a wonderful time it was my sister's birthday and my mother's been raving about the restaurant and she was right!! (As usual)Jamie the chef is exceptional and Creative. She used to work on the Strip at the Mandalay Bay. Luckily for US Vegas locals she's now is now cooking & running her own restaurant. I had the lamb belly which is one of her specialties (belly cut) Which I have never had before. It is the meat from around the belly of the Lamb. Very tender & The unique way that Jamie cuts it & Serves it makes it looks like a filet minion and way the dish is served it's like a work of Art. She also makes a great noodle dish its very spicy & great for Vegans. DON'T forget to try the drinks too. I had a lemon grass martini I know there are other ingredients but I can't remember what they were it Doesn't matter it was delicious. Treat yourself to a night out and go there for dinner.
This is a fun hangout spot after work or if you're on a date. The ambience is nice. The place is very modern and chic. The food was amazing, especially their hot chicken. The service was excellent; I felt taken care of. The food was brought to you at a good pace. I would definitely go back!
Interesting menu with decent food. Service are absolutely fantastic, you are will being taken care of while you are dine in here. Food always has a little twist but not the greatest as I have tried before. Will try few other things on the menu!
Great menu and chill local vibe.
Love love love this place. Always happy to support a new local business and it's easy to do with their mouth watering dishes and expertly crafted cocktails. So happy to see them thriving. On our third time in there was an hour wait and for once were truly happy for them and glad to see they were getting so much business. Couldn't even be mad about the wait. Will definitely be back and wholeheartedly recommend it to others.
Went here for restaurant week. The food was good and the portions were generous.
Everything was perfect.
Fun, exciting and great food!
Interesting cocktails, excellent good and lively service
Salmon skin tacos were amazing
The reason that I only give this place 4-star is because they only serve brunch menu for Sunday lunch (no regular lunch menu) My friend was looking forward to try things from the regular lunch menu but failed. Good service, nice atmosphere and decent food.
The food & staff was phenomenal. Loved the experience.
Attractive mom and pop sized restaurant with good service and good food..but I left here still hungry.. Black Sheep Ambiance & Service: Gorgeous decor complete with hanging light bulbs, attractive full size bar, dark wood and dim lighting definitely gives a contemporary classy vibe good for a date night. They pack the tables close so it's a tight fit for everyone like a resto in Manhattan. fyi. Our server was friendly but we had to track her down later as the place filled up quickly for the dinner rush. She was trying her best. Black Sheep Cuisine: Me & the BFF shared the: Steak Tartare, Vegan Glass Noodles, Short Rib and the Bread Pudding. The steak tartare his minimal steak on the dish but was tasty. The glass noodles was a great side dish as the noodles and veggies were both fresh. The short rib was tender packed with flavor but was an appetizer dish serving size. I'm not really a bread pudding guy but Black Sheep's was top notch and I'd order it again. Were all the dishes social media friendly, creative and tasty? Absolutely yes. Were the serving sizes on the smaller side for the price leaving me still hungry after the meals ? Absolutely yes. Would I still come back and try more tasty dishes because it's also a cool scene. For sure! These are the cards you're dealt at the Black Sheep, play them as you wish. Enjoy!
Great restaurant with fresh flavors and spice. Every dish is excellent Do not miss a bit of a drive but worth it
Dined here as party of Las Vegas Restaurant week, I previewed the menu and check out some of the reviews on yelp, so I knew what I should order and what I should pass on. The. Ist smear Imperial Rolls were absolutely delicious, crunchy outside and moist and delicious inside. The lemongrass Jerk Chicken had a good taste, I should have tried the short ribs instead, never had any flavors of lemongrass. The star is the evening was that amazing matcha green tea macaroons, so freaking delicious. I'll certainly be back to try the oysters.
Best restaurant I've tried in Vegas in over three years. Beats Carson Kitchen by a hair.
Good food and cocktails. Great bartender.
amazing food
Vegas Nights The black Sheep is all about Excellence!! Amazing Experience.
Awesome menu and service!
Great place with a unique and ever changing menu. The drinks were also fantastic. We really enjoyed our dinner here and cannot wait to go back to try some more items from the very talented chef and team!
A niche place with an interesting fusion menu. While the food turned out just average, this place get positive marks for ambience! It's quiet, darker and good music with a bar - would definitely take a date here!
Live it
One of the best places off strip to go to for real, quality food. Drinks also are delicious.
Excellent food and well-made cocktails
It was pretty good. Most of the food has a vietnamese influence. The menu is a bit pricey for the area.
Awesome drinks and friendly knowledgable staff. We all had a great time.
Innovative and delicious twists on Vietnamese cuisine beautifully presented.
Bartender Max was FAB! The place was FAB and the food I HAD was doubly FAB! And all the patrons i happen to chat with ALSO thought it was.....you know>>>>FAB!!! #5stars
Black sheep is great as both a place to eat and a place to get cocktails. The bartenders have a passion for cocktails and are solid at crafting them. The head chef is funny and friendly. She visited with us for a moment and gave us recommendations on food. As she suggested we ordered nearly all of the small plates and tried entrees another time. Fantastic experience from a good group of people that care about what they do.
Amazing food and service. Sure to be one the best new restaurants in Vegas. Everything on the menu done to perfection!
the best meal I have ever had in Vegas. the octopus appetizer was absolutely to die for, the cocktails were original and delicious, and the entrees were some of the most unique and well thought out dishes I have ever seen. besides being at the top of the culinary game, the service was incredible. our waiter was both knowledgeable and friendly and never made us feel rushed, even when we took our time to talk and enjoy each course. even the timing of each course was thoughtful and perfectly spaced out. not to mention, the atmosphere is trendy and chic. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal in the Vegas area. I guarantee you will get your money's worth!
We happened to catch a tasting menu for restaurant week the one night we were here. Great food! It still surprises me to find such a tasty place in a strip mall! You don't feel like that when your in there. Ambiance is inviting and staff is professional. Just far enough off the strip to get away from the hustle and bustle for a bit to enjoy a nice meal.
What a find... I was told about this place from some friends and all I can really say is WOW. I had the Salmon skin Tacos as my appetizer, they were simply amazing!!! Then I had the duck confit it was cooked to perfection... you can definitely taste that the chef and kitchen staff are loving what they are doing... I will be back!!!
Just want to start by saying that the food was great. However, the water was not. We were asked if we wanted sparkling or flat water and we said flat. I guess that flat water meant a $5 bottle of Fiji water, even though we are not in Paris and the tap water is perfectly drinkable. Then when we got the water the waiter spilt some of it on the table and my girlfriend's phone, then the in process of cleaning it, the waiter wiped the water onto my girlfriend's dress. In the end we still paid the $5 for the bottle of water you can get at Target for $2. In hindsight we should have asked for the water to be comped. But we assumed that when a quarter of the water is spilled onto your dress it would be taken care of. Anyway, the rest of the dinner and service was amazing, just not a good way to start the meal. Make sure to ask for tap water not still water.
Delicious food, great service and atmosphere!
I love blacksheep
Wow. 5 star food at a 2 star price. Service in incredible and very knowledgeable. I Will be coming back. Definitely worth the experience.
Great off strip spot with great food and cocktails
Love the food but this place should be listed at 3 dollar signs. Portions are small for the price. The bao bun slider appy is amazing. I def recommend the octopus appetizer too. I had the short rib as a main and was impressed. Will be back for more in the near future.
You definitely need to check this place out. The menu changes with some regularity and they have never been disappointed. Totally top-notch all around.
We went here for my birthday. We unknowingly arrived during happy hour, which turned out to be an extra bonus! Happy hours had dollar oysters and great deals on beer and wine. Our waiter was excellent at recommending options off the menu. We got the braised pork belly and the spicy Vietnamese chicken curry. Both were superb. We also each had one of their specialty cocktails, which came at the waiter recommendation too. Highly impressed and we can’t wait to go back.
I love this place! Their food is always on point and they have a great drink menu.
Great concept and the poached pear salad was deliscious but the rib eye steak so way to spicy and I like spicy. They sent it back and I tried the rainbow trout and it was overpowered with spice. No thanks for me. Give me layers of flavor not blazing heat.
A superb dining experience. Great cocktails, tasty starters and the pork belly was sensational! I strongly recommend this one.
We
Worth the effort to find this nice restaurant and bar.
Just finished my first meal there. After 5+ years in the wilderness since Rosemary's closed, i finally have an an answer to "whats your favorite restaurant in town?" 3 different cocktails, 5 apps, and an entree and absolutely everything we ate and drank was incredible. We will return VERY soon.
Excellent food and service. Definitely will return.
The food was excellent, but the portions were relatively small for the price. Our server was very attentive and made some great recommendations. I would recommend trying the egg roles and the bao sliders.
Absolutely worth it. Very nice atmosphere, casual or dressed up it doesn't matter. The food is amazing, and the owner is great.
Always Amazing, great food, great cocktails
We love to dine on a wide range of meals. Our take with our first experience at the black sheep does not impress us enough for us to go back. The service was great but our main entrees give us no satisfaction....we don't like dinning experiences that makes us feel we r just humoring the food bcuz we paid for it. No complaints w any of the staffs.
Bronson is always on point, tho' service was a bit slow. That's expected when you have a packed restaurant during restaurant week. As always, innovative culinary delights, steps beyond the usual.
Order anything on the menu, been here 3 times and I have always been pleasantly surprised. Short ribs, pork and steak all excellent. Don't forget to try their signature cocktails.
The octopus appetizer was amazing. The service was very attentive and everything was served quickly. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Some good choices of dishes.
Try the Boa sliderds with quail egg.
amazing local bar and restaurant. you have to try they beef chips they are the best thing I have ever tasted. Staff is wonderfull and we go there many times now..
Great food. Decent service. Pricey, but worth a visit.
Amazing tasting food. Great atmosphere and the staff are on top of their game. Can't wait to go back
Loved the food and drinks. Chef e even came out to greet our table.
After a much anticipated tryout of this highly-reviewed place, it was an absolute, expensive disappointment! More fluff than what the menu had described. Their happy hour menu and drinks were pretty lame and expensive for what it is. Our server was morose, emitting a vibe that he was not very happy to serve... at all. First off, we were told when ordering that "the Chef prefers that all food orders are done at the same time "so that food can be prepared and put out in an orderly manner" rather in staggered manner. We said that we were doing little plates and would start with the 4 to pick on and order as we enjoy our drinks. MInd you as we added one other dish, he came reminded us to "order all food at the same time as "the Chef prefers'". I' was quite aghast! I've noshed locally and around the world but have never ever encountered any restaurant (Michelin- or 5- star or less star, trendy or local neighborhood eats) till this day wherein I was told to place my order all in one go as the Chef's preferred". Call me a rebel! Moving on, the food came as we ordered: Raw Oysters- they were soooo little, the flesh was literally sticking to the shell. It was not fleshy nor succulent looking/tasting. Salmon Skin Taco - we liked. Beef Crisps - this is definitely not what we expected. It didn't look anything like beef but rather like fried offal or fat,. We enquired what part of the cow it was, the server said it was cartilage. The menu made no mention that it is not actual beef but rather a cow part. When I see beef on the menu and its description says "thai chili tajin dust, chili lime sauce", I expect it to be so with the seasoning mentioned/described, and not merely a seasoned beef by-product. And I'm not squeamish at all. I've eaten all parts of the cow and other animals! Grilled Spanish Octopus - over-charred. The fusion of over-charring and the tartness of the sambal imparted a sour, off-taste on the chewy/rubbery octopus. Vietnamese Imperial Rolls - the menu says it is "duroc pork & shrimp, pickled heirloom carrots, ninja daikon, yellow frisee salad". It literally tasted like the pork was off (not fresh at all) not as I would expect from a Duroc pig meat... tender, fleshy, and clean. This did not taste anything like that at all. Thankfully they took it off our bill. The only saving grace of this whole disappointing and expensive (especially for happy hour) experience is that the drinks were at least good. It's a shame when simple food is fusionised with chi-chi, trendy, bourgeoisie description that marvel and whet one's appetite only to taste like a compendium of overly seasoned, unlikely pairing of herbs/seasoning/meat mash.
Amazing food and experience.
One of two dishes had so much heat/spice that you couldn’t taste the food. The poached pear dish tasted good, BUT the long stems on the greens (3-4 inches) made it exceedingly difficult to get on a fork to eat. These are a choking hazard. The lamb belly dish was amazing. Pics of the pear salad, lamb belly and exceedingly hot rib eye dish.
Pricey but yummy worth the money
Great food and wine.
Food was excellent. Loved the addition of shrimp chips on the Ceviche!!! Great Asian flair to this modern cuisine!!
Had egg rolls and octopus for starters. Had short rib, salmon, and trout for entrees. I am not a fish fan but my son and wife seems to like them. The short rib was good and dressed well. Good chef with smaller menu. Highly recommended.
Good food, good bar, good customer service.
Think exceptional tapas. Every dish had something special, but with layers of taste. Expensive drinks (it is Vegas...), but food is on point.
Love this place.
Very well put together menu. Unusual but very tasty and interesting good combinations. Enjoyed it!
A little further off the strip than expected but totally worth the drive. The cocktails with creative and the food was excellent, super tasty and flavorful. Worth a visit
Service was excellent and the food was amazing!!
Indische Küche vom Feinsten. Das Lokal ist unscheinbar, aber unbedingt ausprobieren!!
An innovative chef brings her mixed bag to Southwest Vegas. For starters we tried the salmon skin tacos, the beet salad, the crispy beef cracklin's and the Imperial egg rolls. We thought the salmon skin tacos missed the mark. Tha salmon tartare was so heavily spiced with the smoked peppers, we lost the flavor of the salmon. The other three were great. I'd order the dressing on the beet salad on the side next time. For entrees, we had the braised short rib, the whole rainbow trout and the braised pork belly. Our favorite was the trout, roasted whole and boneless. It was cooked perfectly. The pork belly was nicely braised, developing a creamy, flavorful texture in the fat during the braise. The short rib was good, but not a favorite. Portions are fair, the service is very good and the atmosphere pleasant. We'd go back, which is a high recommendation.
Excellent place in my neighborhood. New to me. Our first visit was awesome. We had 2 starters. Both were awesome. I could have done a night of tapas from that section alone and been happy. But, we moved on to entrees. Again, all were awesome. Drinks were good. An excellent wine list with some great bargains. And great service. Loved it and can't wait to return.
Great buffet with very nice options. The prices are a bit higher but worth the quality and portions!
Ate here once. Nice ambience, great service and food selections. Artistic and innovative menu list. Will definitely come back!
Very very very unique experience. I love finding places like this.
Great new place to try. Vietnamese influences
Very nice spot. They offer seasonal items on the way menu. The duck was Very good. Excellent pairing with food, seasoning and texture.
I thought I had written a review for them already. Well, first time I came for drinks only and not knowing anyone yet. This time I had reservation through OpenTable wanting to experience it all. Since I'm in Summerlin West driving time is about fifteen minutes from home or less with no traffic. Once I make my way inside I was greeted by owners themselves with Jamie in the shadows prepping things for the evening. Jon was my waiter throughout the night being very attentive from water refill to checking in on me. He spoke in a calm polite tone that'll make anyone a firm believer in what he say. I know I did. Acoustic is set perfectly for size of room at times you'll need to speak a bit louder when it's a full house. I went with bao sliders to start base on Jon's recommendations. Fried quail egg sold me on bao no questions asked. Braised duroc pork belly melts in your mouth goes great with crispy pig ear giving it some crunch on every bite. For dessert vietnamese style tres leches was fabulous made exquisitely with care. It looks very sweet, but after first spoonful you'll be saying OMG (no sharing). La flama blanca cocktail is strong almost producing a burning sensation of good feeling that is. I'm coming home in April for three weeks with TBS in mind as my first dinner back from bay area.
Terrific food, drinks and service
Loved it!!! Delicious food and great customer service!!
Food is ok not great but service makes up for it
We live across town but drive is worth it. Food is beyond amazing... & the staff are very attentive & knowledgeable.. Jocelyn definitely made our first visit memorable... Salmon skin tacos is a must!!!!
If you are in Vegas this is the place to eat. Food is out of this world. Service is great. Chef Jamie is in my opinion is the most artistic and taste of food is very exotic. I can't say enough about this place. If you want to impress someone, take them here.
Good cocktails, good inventive food and friendly service. Far from the strip but delicious.
Delicious food, octopus appetizer wonderful and sea bass fantastic! Enjoyed all our dishes and on top of the food great friendly service. Try it for yourself!
Nice Vietnamese menu. The chef is very talented and adorable person.
Delicious, different type of food than what were used too. I saw they have happy hour 5-6pm. Great spot for cocktails.
Excellent food and beverage choices! Quaint and trendy atmosphere...highly recommend!
The service was horrible. The waiter rushed us, was very rude, and had no customer service skills at all. The food was great, but we are considering not returning due to the poor customer service.
This is what a good quaint bar/restaurant should be. Reminds me of SoHo and has great fusion pairings between the Vietnamese style dishes and the meaty American dishes. The Black Sheep is a definite return visit. They even named a drink after Kenny Powers (confirmed by the owner). Ha ha
Great service here. Food & drinks are good.
I always look for the best locals place off the strip to dine. This one was amazing. I'll be back!!
Everything on the menu is amazing! The fried trout is my favorite. Be sure to make reservations.
Perfect food and drinks!
Last evening we enjoyed a wonderful evening at Black Sheep. We arrived around 8:30 pm and met some friends at the bar. Max was our server/bartender and his Brittish swag was infectious! He made amazing
Great cocktails and Vietnamese inspired food
Happy hour is an awesome deal with cheap wines/beer and dollar oysters! Every single cocktail and bite of food I've eaten there has been delicious
By far the best meal of our entire Vegas trip. World class. Get the lamb belly!
Great food! Excellent whiskey selection. Scallops were amazing.
Great place
Amazing flavors and textures. Ingredients you know prepared and presented interestingly and unusually. Delicious.
This place is great! Some friends told us about it, so we stopped in for dinner. The restaurant was very clean with a great modern feel. The menu was a bit different than what we saw online, but the choices were just as good as we saw online. The appetizer and wine list were extensive, but we didn’t try anything from either one this time around. We had the Salmon and the Short Rib, and both were wonderful. Full of flavor and cooked to perfection. We topped it off with the chocolate cake and an espresso for desert. I highly recommend this place for a fun date night.
One of the most quality and spectacularly thought out exquisite menu for the foodie, or in my case, the FOOD CRITIC in me. Excellent. I recommend highly.
Unbelievable! If you're at all just "thinking" about going, stop wasting your time thinking and GO NOW!!!
WORTH THE DRIVE FROM THE STRIP!!! Must Try!!! The reviews should speak for themselves at over 100 and well past 4.5!!! Menu is extremely unique and they rotate the sides for seasonal options. You may think it is high end or posh, but they are great and treat their customers perfectly! If you like custom cocktails, this is an absolute must try. They have unique spirits and a HUGE selection of High West Whiskey you cannot find in other Las Vegas establishments. Photo is exploded beef tendons...like pork rinds! AMAZING!
Really enjoy this place. Great cocktails and food. Perfect service!
Yum
This place is awesome especially for the price. Fine dining quality food for normal restaurant price. Service is friendly and professional. Highly recommended!
Good food, great service
Great service, great food. I was eating Kim Chi with Rib-eye was interesting.
Only been there a few times but love the food and ambiance. Better for dates but I have seen family and bigger groups eating there.
If you're in the mood for artisanal dining off the strip, this is a must try. It is located near Warm Springs and Durango, the entrance is very subtle but the restaurant itself has an appealing contemporary industrial themed decor. Pictured below is the Fried When Rainbow Trout with steamed Jasmine rice topped with a Ginger & Rice vinegar wine. The second picture is their chocolate Tiramisu. Not shown but equally good were the Thai Basil Shrimp Ceviche and Grilled Spanish Octopus.
Great food. Very heavy food, but who doesn't like fried and butter with everything
BlackSheep was a great dining experience! We were visiting Las Vegas and wanted a nice sit down dinner off of the strip. They did not fail! Wonderful host, wonderful server and wonderful bartenders and back of house staff! I wish we lived closer. Highly recommend the hot chicken and the cocktail list was impressive.
Amazing food. Every single thing on the menu I've tried has been somewhere between great and amazing. A real hidden gem.
Food is a hit and a miss. Service is awesome!!!
Great food! Great atmosphere that feels like a secret hidout. Also try the Mr. Brownstone!
Honestly incredible experience and staff. Everything we ordered was phenomenal
Suuuuuper tasty and delicious!
First time here. Great service with knowledgeable wait staff. Nice wine list and really unique and perfectly cooked entrees. We will be back and highly recommend for foodies. Small but mighty restaurant. This is a gem!
It's a great place food love love
