I was expecting good things from their menu, and the crowd inside looked like it’d be great. I was disappointed with my takeaway, being the half order of catfish with sides being yams and red beans/rice. 1 piece of fish, maybe less than a cup of beans/rice, and yams. Everything tastes great, along with the hot sauce provided, but it was a less than overwhelming experience. I won’t be stopping by again. The staff was friendly tho, and the place was clean. Management was on point, checking to see if I needed anything. But no one offered me a drink while I waited, and I did indeed wait, around 15-20 min, for food that might have been delivered from a microwave

The food is really good. The staff are very friendly. My only disappointment was the 4 days I was there this time they didn't have any breakfast food because they did not get their truck. Other than that I would highly recommend this place.

I've been to Vegas twice now and I make sure this is one the places I eat at! I absolutely love their food! Good soul food and nice portions for your money. Gotta have the lemonade/ tea drink... "muddy" something and the damn CORN CAKES!!!!!

Waitress seemed overwhelmed, took out food to the wrong table at first. Also didn't provide utensils until after food was on the table. Being from AL the cornbread dressing was super sweet than I liked and banana pudding tasted from a box with a hint of lemon. Fried chicken was great though.

I I'm a southern woman. I know Soul food when I taste it. This is not for what looking for. First of all the service is very very slow It took 15 minutes to get a glass of water another 45 minutes for me to receive my food in part. After I have eaten my cabbage and the hot water cornbread comes out. The food is very salty and overpriced.

It is 12/31/18 and I have been sitting at this restaurant for over an hour and have only been served water. I arrived to wait for 15 minutes or more just to be seated. Our orders have been taken but still NO FOOD has arrived. The waitress didn't apologize for wait and has yet to come to the table to offer an explanation for the delay. In the past the food and customer service has been great but this time it literally SUCKS. M&M Soul Food it's been real but you just lost me as a customer✌

I have visit several times before and really enjoy it. It became my Friday night go to. My recent visit was a disaster. Had to wait 20 minutes just to do a takeout order. Wait another 40 minutes on food. Took it back to hotel just to discover it was wrong. Dont know if I will ever visit again

Literally just visited today, had a 30min wait before someone took our order. Once we had a server there was another 30-45min wait and our server left. The staff was extremely rude and confused on what table we were at and the host attitude was NASTY!!! Once we received food our food was very COLD and NASTY.... we asked for a manager literally nobody came to our table, so we politely got up and left that NASTY, COLD as FOOD on the table.. we were not the only tourist who walked out.... NEVER AGAIN ‼️

I tried the Kool-Aid and it brought me good memories of my childhood. The smothered chicken was more than enough - There was a lot of food for the price.

Everything from the time we walked in until we left was not a good experience. First we were waiting a long time to be seated. Its soul food on a Sunday so I sort of expected that. Once we were seated the waitress gave us our menus and when I flipped it over to the breakfast side she said that they weren't serving breakfast anymore because it was after 12. It was actually not even 11:10. So we ordered our food around 11:15 and we did not get our food until 12. They brought out 2 sides of what they said were scrambled eggs with cheese. First they were overcooked and not scrambled. But where was the rest of the food and why did the eggs come out first on their own plates? The next thing to come out was some "hot wings". First the chicken was on a plate with the hot sauce in the middle. When we asked why it was served this way the waitress asked if we wanted it tossed. Typically hot wings are served tossed unless you specifically request that they not be tossed. They next dish to come out was the chicken and waffle. Waffle was not cooked completely and there wasn't any butter on the waffle.Next to come out was a side of pancakes and they didn't have any butter either. Next was the chicken wing breakfast. The potatoes were cold. The next meal to come out was the sausage breakfast. Now the sausage was over cooked, the grits were not cooked correctly with cheese. The cheese was sprinkled in top and not mixed in. This plate actually had "scrambled" eggs with cheese. Yes all the food came out separately. We had to ask for refills of the drinks 4 times before we actually got it. Our server barely paid us any attention and then when one of the other servers that we had stopped repeatedly she simply said "I'll have the boss lady come talk to them". Well the boss lady never came and although the pancakes were taken off the bill no other discount nor apology was given for the poor service and horrible food. If you want soul food don't go here if you expect to actually eat. This was absolutely the worst food experience I have ever had.

I really wanted to like this restaurant. I did, but I have to be honest I will not be returning. Took 5 mins to get sat on a not busy Thursday, once sat we were never greeted or given a chance to order. Just ignored for 10 mins until I complained and at that point they simply said they didn’t know what happened. Food was nothing to write home about except for the yams, they were delicious. Oh and the Mac and cheese was a bit on the dry side . All and all just average

Here from Chicago, so today 9/29 around 5pm after talking about coming back to this restaurant it was such a huge disappointment. 1st walking into the restaurant one server didn’t look happy about us coming in to dine. After watching all three of the servers talking to each other one finally comes to seat us. Start off with drinks and kinda excited cause we we’re pretty hungry. Not food comes out husbands order shrimp and grits my order costed chicken dinner all white, with greens, dressing, and Mac. Everything was COLD

I just saw on Channel 13 News that this is the 4th time this restaurant has gotten a seriously bad score from the Health Department. Moldy food, several generation roaches, no hot water at the wash station, dirty dishea stored with clean, etc. I wanted to try it but now I will never set foot in there.

As per usual M&M's food is good... But the service still needs work! Called in an order arrived 45mins after placing the order and stilled waited another 30mins for food. Worse dining experience I’ve ever had while visiting Vegas...we arrived and were seated right away...waited 15 minutes before waitress came to take drink orders, by then we were ready to order...I wanted pork chops and was told they were out...so ordered fried chicken wings...after waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes to get our food...and watching people who arrived after us be served, we asked what was the wait??? Waitress checked on our order and returned to tell me they were out of wings but told me she could bring me a breast. While waiting another 10 minutes, I heard another waitress tell other customers that they were out of white meat. At that point, I asked to speak with a manager, after another 5 minutes she came out and apologized and offered our party to contact the owner. Needless to say we left after 1 hour and 30 minutes never receiving our food. Our waitress and manger were very nice but just not sure overall what are the customer service standards???? Or do they have standards?? Very inconsiderate of time and choice...

As a southern girl, I know my way around catfish, piping hot dishes of collard greens and mac/cheese. This place didn't disappoint. The catfish was quite crunchy, but tender, the cabbage was not tooooooo seasoned, the mac/cheese was cheesy, and the greens melted in your mouth. Could always use a bit of hotsauce, but overall pretty good.

Service extremely slow because they had my waitress doing 3 jobs. The sausage on Red Beans was good and so was the catfish, plus the lemonade was amazing! My waffle was thin like a sheet of paper and cold, the chicken wings weren't seasoned, the grits weren't seasoned but the shrimp and peppers were decent. Soul Food should be perfectly seasoned, this was more someone cooking for the first time. You guys can do better, the food/restaurant has potential to be great.

Heard the food was good but never got to try it.... Got seated and waited 25 mins before heading towards the door and handing the manager(?) the menus back. He seemed to be shocked (genuinely concerned) to hear that no one ever came to the table but he also did absolutely nothing to keep us there... ( not a discount, a free dessert, etc )... I decided to head over to " EllaEm's Soul Food " and I'm glad that I did. The food was AMAZING as well as the atmosphere and staff!!!

love soul food and ive been to M &Ms many times in L.A. and Vegas . 1st the inside of the resturant needs some damn air. Its 107 in Vegas and 100 inside of the lobby area. The wait although not extremely long is terrible because its so hot. We went on a Thursday evening waited about 45 min and after being seated waiting at least 10 min for drinks and our order to be taken. We tried to not order fried food as there is a 25 min cooking wait time however they didn't have meatloaf so we ordered and waited Np..... Porkchop had pink in it and all our sides were cold. We asked fof the sides to be heated up and the waitress said DAMN i dont have a microwave Ok well we cant have cold food she was pleasent said no problem and said ill see what i can do. She took the plates came back 10 min later with cold sides again we declinded and left. She did apologize . We decided to give a second chance and came on Saturday afternoon . Quickly seated but not acknowledged for at least 15 min for drink order. Which we had to flag them down for. Chicken came put but was not cooked all the way Dressing is not cornbread dressing but its suffing like stove stop potato salad is dry and store bought is better . on the good note chittling good yams good and corn bread good. I wouldnt recommend unfortunately

My husband and I look forward to coming to this restaurant when in town and the last few times we have been disappointed. Today our meal was the absolute worst! The mac and cheese was DRY!! The fried chicken was tasteless and cold. The catfish was tasteless. The rice was hard. Not to mention there is never any parking. If we weren't so hungry we would have walked out. Truly disappointed.

The wait was kind of long when tables were empty. There was another wait when we where seated to take our order. Observing as food was being brought out, it appeared any table of 2 or more people, nobody's food was brought together. The explanation was the chef cooks per order and plates come out individually. To call this place a “Soul Food Cafe” is an absolute JOKE. The service was standard, the food itself was far below. You pay roughly $17 for a FULL order of snapper w/ 3 sides. However, what you actually get after waiting an HOUR for food to arrive was the real joke. My FULL ORDER consisted of : 2 small pieces of fish, completely BURNT w/ little to no actual fish meat on it. When I broke off a piece of the fish, majority of it crumbled because it was fried so hard. The Macaroni & Cheese, was extremely runny to where a milky like substance sat at the bottom of my even smaller 1/2 cup side dish serving. The Collard Greens, were cold and the yams were bland. I came w/ my family, and everyone was just as disappointed if not more than I was. Hopefully the restaurant owner modifies the recipes, or finds a new chef that provides better quality food. Otherwise they won't be in business for long.

I am always looking for delicious soul food anywhere I go. When I eat here, I always go all out because I can’t resist the delicious chicken ,macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, greens, waffles, oxtail, chicken, anything black. The waiters made me feel like home, they reminded me of my mom‘s food. This place just brings back the soul environment that I crave every time I go to a new city or move to a new place. If you’re looking for a delicious soul food then this is the place!

Service was beyond slow. One waitress actually had a attitude and didn’t mind anyone knowing. Another waitress plated food with her bare hands. After waiting a hour my food was horrible. The Mac and cheese tasted like just Mac. My fried pork chop was tough and I paid $8 for one piece of fish. At first I was going to try and eat my food since I had paid for it already, but then decided that it was too nasty. They said they don’t do refunds so they offered me a piece of cake to compensate for my $24 bill. I have been there several times and I will never go back.

OMG! One of those hole in the wall getting business done the right way finger licking good places. Just go in there and try just about anything and it will knock your socks off. Didn't expect too many of these in Vegas with all the buffets out there. I love the menu as well it is simple and straight to the point it does not over convolute things. Get some down south soul all the way in the west. Eat up

we had a bad experience the food was good I had a party of 14 from Arizona. when we arrived at the restaurant and made contact with the waitress explained to her that we had a large party she screamed. That was the first turn off. we were finally seated and she was very rude. I ask to speak with management, the waitress then came back and ask if there was anything that she could do I explain to her half of my family did not order cause we seem to be an problem for her, she finally started treating us better our check was over 150 dollars just for 6 of us could you imagine if we all ate the check would have been bigger. I still gave her a tip of 30. I don't recommend this restaurant.

The waitress at the bar where you place your orders to go told me to have a seat so I can order, as I'm literally sitting down another waitress stops me and says that they are closed and that they ran out of food. The waitress who asked me to sit down so I can order looked totally confused as if she had no idea about what the other waitress had said. How does a restaurant run out of food, especially a restaurant on the strip!!! I then again went back the very next night only to be told the same thing! I don't know what the he'll is going on with this place but I really feel some type of way. On March 13, my friend wanted salmon croquettes for breakfast for her birthday. I offered to cook but she wanted it to be quick. From the moment we walked in the door the service was horrible. No communication or organization amongst the staff. It took us forever to be seated. So i ordered chicken and waffles and they brought me chicken and feathers w/ waffles. I asked if they cleaned the chicken and the waiter said yes. My response was, how can you clean chicken and still have feathers. He took the plate and said that he was going to "hook it up". And that's exactly what he did. He brought me the same chicken with some of the feathers still in it! I told him I'm from Ga and my great grandmother would turn over in her grave if i ate this and walked out... Horrible place to go!

Over the 2 years I have come when I visit Las Vegas I have enjoyed this place. Food was amazing. Today 3/25 it wasn't great. Took 2 minutes to be seated, 25 min to get a drink order for the 2. And another 30 minutes to order our meals. Someone other than a waiter took our drink order. I went to the front and finally someone said she would come take our order. The catfish was great! My greens weren't good. The mashed potatoes was good. Corn wasn't good. The drinks were good, no refills were ever given. It wasn't terribly packed, but seemed as if there was no order to tables.

The service was bad. Got seated then 15min pass b4 my hubby had to let them no we been waiting. No one come to keep us but the Hostess fonsloy did. After ordering we sit for another 45min just for them to tell me what I ordered they did'nt have. Did I say 15min wait, plus 45 befor our food came out. Then some of my food still wasn't put in, so here it is 15 more minutes. That's a total of 1hour & 5min. Just SAD I asked for the mgr Tim but he never came out. Befor leaving we ask again to speak to Tim the mgr. Once again my hubby & I was told he's busy. Every time we visit we go there & will tell our friends. But this will be our last time & for sure will not recommend. I believe in supporting my owns, but when the service is bad & food has no favor. I sure will refer.

The original location is consistently good. This one across from the Stratosphere is wildly inconsistent. They were out of most menu items and the food they did have wasn't cooked well. Waited a long time for service. Maybe they improved since last visit but will only go to the original.

Customer service is bad! Greeted by host 5 minutes after entry. Seated. Took waitress 15 minutes to take order. Waited an hour for food to come. Messed up order and waited another 20 minutes. Person after me ordered food and received theirs before mines. No structure or organization in thin this place. Will not come back. Food is okay. Had better soul food.

The aromas tell you instantly what’s in store. The atmosphere is just right for a soul food restaurant. We had attempted to go to the original location at Charleston and Valley View twice recently but both times it was closed for repairs or remodeling. I drove by the place for decades and always wanted to go. I’m sorry I waited so long. We got fried chicken smothered with gravy along with red beans & rice, collard greens and, of course, mac and cheese for sides. They also served us “corn bread” which is really more of a corn pancake which was tasty. The portions were large. My wife and I were stuffed after sharing our meal. The fried catfish looked very good. The two filets were probably eight inches long. Because we were full we didn’t get any desert. I would have chosen peach cobbler if I had room. The only reason I didn’t give five stars was that the service was slow, and it seemed like each server was on her own rather than them all working as a team.

If I could rate this experience with zero stars I would! My party of 3 arrived before 11:30am, and it took 30 minutes to be seated, during which time the wait staff constantly looked over at us standing at the hostess desk, but never approached. Once seated it took 1.5 hours to get our food which was definitely not worth the wait. Because it took so long only a limited breakfast menu of chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits was offered. Just say no to both!! The food was not seasoned and had no flavor. Also, the sides were awful. The mac and cheese, was dry, the dressing (I use this term lightly) was sweet and tasted like stuffing out of the box! The fried okra was just okay, and had no real flavor. Don't waste your time. We will not be back. #sodisappointed!

If your from the South & know how to cook dont eat here. It will just upset you the same way it upset me. I ordered the meatloaf ( they didnt have oxtails) and my 3 sides. The green beans were too salty so I replaced them with mac & cheese. The mac & cheese is so basic (no seasoning). Cabbage was ok once adding seasoning but to me it taste like mac & cheese. The Yams were the best. My husband had the greens (basic as well) & rice and gravy, he said it was ok but his face said otherwise. He also got the catfish. They take 1 filet and cut it in half and say its 2 pieces. We're from Houston, Tx where they dont do that. Not the best at all but the staff was very friendly.

Absolutely the worst service I've ever had in my life after three different waitresses no refills and an hour wait for our food the waitress comes out with our sides (macaroni, greens and corn bread)and tells us that she doesn't have an explanation as to why the food is taking so long or how much longer it will be! The food here is good, we originally wanted to order take out but after waiting for a long time we decided to stay at the restaurant. The waitress who was serving us was nice, we ordered shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles and fried chicken with mac and cheese and potato salad. The chicken wings still had alot of feathers on it and the sides weren't seasoned, the potato salad which is what the crowd comes for as per the wait staff but the taste was overwhelming with mustard and relish.

The best kept secret in vegas. Everything was so wonderful I couldn't leave any on the plate even though I was stuffed. Get ready for some flavor here! The people who work here are the sweetest. Well worth the trip to the north side of the strip. Probably gonna be my number 1 favorite meal in vegas. Dont know how they dont have 5 stars.

I'm visiting from Houston and was told the food here was awesome... well we would not get a chance to try it. The service here was horrible ..my husband and I sat at the counter ..in plain view of everyone working there..yes a waitress acknowledged us..told us it would be just a minute...which it turned out to be 20 minutes before I had to ask if someone would take our order. The waitress that was helping a group next to us seemed nice but the waitress that originally told us "just a minute" completely forgot about us. RUDE!

We love M&Ms and we go EVERY time we visit Las Vegas. I mean Every time for real, like leave for home later in the day just to get there for lunch. Everyone is friendly and their service is excellent. Food takes a while but that's because they fry everything to order so it's worth waiting.

I am writing to express my disappointment in then M&M soul food establishment today. My wait after being seated for food was over 1 hr and half . our table had to flag down other staff to be provided with a refill for our drinks. Our waitress was very unapologetic and very argumentative. When our food was finally delivered to our table my 2 nd side of my half order was not available stating the kitchen was out of corn bread dressing. When the waitress was questioned as to why I was being notified now after waiting such an extended time , her rubbdtle was because she's not cooking the food , and was just told by the kitchen . I heard great things of this restaurant & wanted to try it out while we were in NV. Unfortunately a manager was not available to discuss our encounter and time at the restaurant .However staff member Aftica I believe is how you spell her name came over to hear us out and discounted our bill for our experience. Hopefully she finds a better place of work more suited for her customer service. FYI: the bathrooms was just as terrible as the service. Do you self a favor & just don’t bother going .

Went to the restauraunt, the air was broken their air compressor froze up. That was number 1. They had two fans. It was hot as haties. An unbelievable patron turned the fan towards his family. The waitress just looked. I decided not to be confrontational. The macoroni was luke warm and looked as if it had been sitting a very long time. The greens were not washed correctly before cooking and I could taste grit on the greens (disgusting) The pork chops were dry, they had been sitting too they might have been good barring a little freshness and some salt. The rice and gravy and the mash potatoes were nssty. It was the gravy and finally the dressing was edible but not incredible. The staff were superb that is why 1 star was awarded.

This is is horrible for customer service. No nice greeting, we set at a table for awhile before we was asked if we wanted water (it is hot as hell in Vegas). We finally was asked if we wanted something to drink after 20 mins. As we was asking questions about how many pieces of fish does the full plate have the waitress said only 2 and there a little on the small said. So we wasn't happy about that. So we ended up leaving to go to Lola's... We wanted to support our black own business people but the quality of service that mostly give to the public is not up to par.
