Unassuming place, but beware.....possibly the best steaks and cocktails await. My rib eye was cooked perfectly and the flavor....unmatched. I've eaten at every major chain steakhouse....forget them come here. They put that extra something in them to make them great...just like I'd do at home for my guests. But....then there is the cocktails.....Joy is on point with anything you want and feel free to explore their vast and time period diverse list of mixology perfected libations. Spotty is easily one of the best bartenders in the country....spinning two at a time and walking you through a journey of spirit indulgence. The drinks rule Vegas....the steaks dominate.....go before it's too late.

While the food here is amazing, the wait staff will not assist large parties in splitting checks (because this would ruin their automatic gratuity). We had a large party of eight and they let us struggle for a good thirty minutes trying to split our check fairly even though they had a line out the door of waiting parties! Other than that, the food is stellar.

First visit, very nice place...the outside doesn't look like much, parking is a challenge (my husband and I parked in the alley behind the restaurant). Lighting is low, decor is steakhouse appropriate. No dress code, you can dress up for special occasion or casually...the food was so good, I don't eat medium rare but I ordered the flat iron steak and it delicious. For the sides I had mashed potatoes and spinach; the were excellent as well...I will frequent this place.

Very unique dining experience. Definitely felt like I was entering a club as I walked through the door. The lighting was very dim. The menu was very elaborately laid out. Very difficult to read though. The service was great. The food was delicious. The portions were ginormous! I don't recommend sharing an appetizer if there's only two or three people. I felt like we wasted a lot of food between the App and our Meals (husband & wife). We couldn't take the food home since we were staying in a hotel.

It is a tradition to stop I'm for second happy hour when visiting. Food and drinks are always incredible. My favorite steaks in town! The chimi churri on the side is a must have. Their customer service is always great as well. Ever server we've had has been friendly and on top of it.

Awesome food but way too expensive if you don't go during half off hours. $60 for a rib eye and $54 for a filet is a bit excessive. Its also VERY dark and VERY loud. My date and i could not talk to each other or see. But the staff and food is wonderful. I will go again of course bc the whiskey shallot potatoes call to me . Ill just go armed with flashlight and pad n pen to write.

Must make a reservation or youll never eat. No parking space either. Waited an hour to get in. Waiters are good. So busy. I ordered the Blood and Sand cocktail. Yum Yum Yum! Surf and turf plus wedge salad. Too much to eat! Bread was warm. Salad HUGE!!!! Steak was perfect. Lobster a little overcooked but, Worth the wait!!!!!!

Literally one of my new favorite places to eat in the world. Every aspect of every dish was perfection. They do a proper Pittsburg on steaks and the fillet is actually better than the ribeye which is a feet! Do yourself a favor and start with the tomato bisque and grilled cheese, it is incredible. Best cocktail menu I have ever experianced and all mixed to perfection with a great bit of history to boot.

My roommate and I have been DYING to find a restaurant like this in Vegas. We just moved from Chicago so our food/service/cocktail expectations were very high. The whole experience I am still gushing about a week later to anyone who will listen. Server read the table (us) very well and was attentive yet gave us enough time to eat in peace. I could go on for some time about the cocktail menu too - but you should just go. Side note: 30 grams of edibles and this VERY dim candle lit room will not disappoint

Just left there . Ordered 3 Ribeyes got 2 big ones and one little odd one... Also ordered the crusted blue cheese topping for one. The little odd stake was like dipped in crusted blue cheese . We pushed it off and tried to save it. Also ordered mushrooms and onions toppings s for the 2 giant Ribeyes . That topping was soggy and just not cooked right or yesterday maybe. Took my unfinished drink. New customers . Won't be back . I blame it one the waiter. The waiter polices the food . Or is it to dark in there for him to see what's going on .

Our visit was based on the recommendation of a former local and we were not disappointed. Walking through the front door into the dimly lit interior you immediately get that feeling of an old time speakeasy they are going for. We followed the hostess to our table carefully as our eyes adjusted to the darkness. We set our reservation early to make sure we could take advantage of the half priced steaks on offer during Happy Hour so the room wasn't overly busy. Our table had a reasonable amount of space from our neighbors but it might be time for some repairs. Someone had dug a hole in the fiberboard table top and while it didn't take away from our enjoyment I found it a little distracting. Staff were friendly as we were offered water, drinks and an introduction to the menu. The food menu is limited but exactly what I would expect from a steak house. Appetizers, salads and entrees are limited to 2 pages with one dedicated entirely to steak and accompaniments. The steak portions on offer range from Huge to Feed Your Family for a Month so unless you have the ability to take leftovers home or are a big eater I would suggest sharing. My wife and I opted to share an 18oz ribeye so we could enjoy some sides and sauces without overdoing it. We opted for the button mushrooms, Whiskey shallot potatoes (as suggested by our server), Brandy Peppercorn Sauce and creamy horseradish. We also selected some cocktails from the fun list available in the menu. We were offered warm bread as we waited for our meal. The cocktail list was the most enjoyable part of the experience. Cocktails are listed by Era and each one is accompanied with a little quip or story about its origins. There were some interesting ingredients that we had never tasted before and we enjoyed exploring many of the cocktails on offer. The steak arrived and was cooked to perfection. Tasting the steak as it was prepared without any sauce was everything we expected. Tender with an excellent crust. Trying the sauces was a little disappointing. We are huge horseradish fans and the creamy horseradish sauce was less horseradish and tasted more like it was just sour cream. There was so little horseradish using the name was misleading though it would probably be good on a baked potato. The brandy peppercorn sauce was fine but was basically a gravy with a few peppercorns floated on top. The fact these accompaniments cost extra made me expect to have something worth adding and I would expect much more effort to go into creating them but rather we just skipped them and enjoyed the steak all on its own. The button mushroom side was also a letdown. The mushrooms reminded me of something that came from a can with little to no additional preparation. The Whiskey Shallot Potatoes were definitely worth the price of admission though. Garlic was the star here and while they were not pretty to look at my wife threatened to lick the bowl when we were done. These are definitely a signature dish but prepare for the garlic. This is a place all about the drinks and that is represented in the menu with most of it dedicated to their selection of cocktails and top shelf liquors. My wife continued with Gin based cocktails while I stuck to the namesake whiskey drinks including a tasty scotch cocktail. All of the cocktails had a complexity that I truly enjoyed. Herbs and Rye have an extensive whisk(e)y list at prices that seemed fair when compared to other specialty restaurants. To cap off the meal we decided to try some of the Donuts we had seen pictures of in other reviews. There is no dessert menu so the waiter informed us there were only two options to choose from but that didn't matter, our minds were focused. The warm Donuts were very tasty and a perfect end to our meal. All the staff were outstanding and friendly. They seem to truly enjoy working there and we enjoyed the experience very much. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Vegas but next time we will stick to the basics, steak and cocktails. Definitely try to be there for Happy Hour, it is absolutely worth the effort.

I finally got to visit this beautiful establishment 2 weeks ago. I was visually impressed and the service was so quick I do reccomend a reservation if you want to have a table otherwise the bar is open earlier in the day. They have great specials and happy hour options. We were able to try 8 different drinks each from different eras. This was an experience I will never forget.

Honestly the best steak I have ever had. I had the rib steak with the herbs and rye rub. Honestly fantastic steak. Clams to start we’re delicious. So many great fresh cocktails to choose from. If you in Vegas get off the strip and try this place out. Great music and atmosphere. Don’t let the buildings exterior fool you because it worried us at first. Once you step inside it’s all class. If I come back to Vegas I will be returning!

Found this gem of a place. Doesn't look like much from the outside. We were a little concerned, but the lot was full on a Monday night. So we felt a lot better when we pulled in. When you step in it's got a lot of ambience, low lighting lots of wood, a large old wood bar. The bar man looked straight out of the old west with his Grizzley Addms beard. Very good drinks. The dining room was classy with a nice 50's steakhouse feel. Low lighting and plenty of dark corners for a romantic night out. Mike & Rob took very good care of us. The French Onion soup plentiful, and great flavor. Definitely enough to share. Monday thru Saturday all steak are half priced from 5 to 8pm, and 12 to 3am. We had the 18oz ribeye, my friend had theirs with the blue cheese crust. Both were extremely good. To finish the night we shared a Cream Brulee, it was buttery, and creamy the perfect end to a great meal. If you are coming to Vegas and looking for a great steakhouse with that old time tradition, and one that won't break bank, this is the place. I can't say enough about Herb and Rye. Thank you Mike and Rob for a memorable night out. Repost 6/12/19 Just took three more friends to Herbs & Rye, one was a local who had never eaten here. "That will change". All were very impressed. 5 Ribeyes all around. The Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail was fat and succulent. We tried the Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Whiskey Shallots Scallop Potatoes, and Garlic Truffle Steak Frys. OH SO GOOD. Andreas, and Mason were are servers tonight supported by some of the other wait staff, and service was outstanding again. We will make Herbs & Rye a must stop when ever were back in town. Thanks again for a great night out.

I came here beacuse of all the positive reviews in here. Even during happy hour at half price for a ribeye @ $31...it was not up to par. The taste was ok but now great for a good steak house. My wife's ribeye was not tender. Mine was ok in taste and eye appeal. We ordered two Russian mules, they were great! The waiter took a long time to come by so we could order a second round of drinks. Over all the ambiance was great, comfortable and a bit dark which I liked. The bread was crunchy just how I like it. They could try and use a better butter. Other steak houses at the strip were way better than this one.

This place has the historic charm of old Vegas. It depends on what you're looking for in a meal. Their happy hour half-off steaks are a pretty good deal, if expensive to begin with. (The steak was much too salty for me. Why do they do that?) The music was blasted so loud at our table in the bar area that it was impossible to have a dinner conversation. It reminded me of disco dancing bars back in the day - conversation was discouraged and you left with your ears ringing. I would have enjoyed their choice of music if it had been turned down by half. Many regulars are simply here to get drunk at the bar. It's too bad because the linguini with clam sauce was easily the best I've ever had. Fresh, tender whole clams that would have made Bugsy Seigel shed real tears. Parking was a nightmare - take a car service. (Good advice for just about anywhere in Vegas.)

I have been to Herbs & Rye on several occasions, sometimes to eat, sometimes to drink, and sometimes to do both. It is one of my favorite bars and one of my favorite steakhouses in the city. If you arrive after midnight, the steaks are half price, which is one of the best deals I've found in the city. As a restaurant, Herbs & Rye consistently cooks their steaks to perfection. They offer additions and sauces to the steaks. However, I think the steaks are so well cooked, they are best left as is. The side dishes are good, but I have not found any that are great. The service is often slow, but I feel that corresponds to the speak-easy atmosphere. The bar features a long list of prohibition cocktails. I typically try a new drink each time I visit and I've enjoyed every drink I've ordered. I especially enjoy the speak-easy decor, which is a nice break from the typical bars on the strip. If you are looking for a great steak and cocktail in a cool atmosphere, this is the spot to go to. If you are looking for an amazing deal on great steaks, come after midnight and enjoy!

The Rib eye was on par or better then what I've had from The Palm, Capital Grill, Ruth Chris. Bottom line this place knows how to prepare a great steak. Don't waste your money at the overhyped and overpriced casino restaurants go to Herbs and Rye.

My husband and I totally fell in love with Herbs and Rye. He’s crazy about the steak, but their craft cocktails are truly divine. (I recommend the Clover Club!) The happy hour is a must as the well drinks, steaks, and a few other entrees are 50% off. I would definitely splurge and try one of the craft cocktails though! Feels like a step back in time...think speak easy.. Beautifully executed cocktails by era. 1/2 off most meats between 5-8 PM. Scrumptious rubs, sauces and add a la carte items. Highly recommend the pork chops with a red wine demi, clams and sauce were to die for, coupled with truffled mac and cheese made my night. Even better they have a nice sherry list to complement the menu. I especially appreciate how devoted the staff was to preserving the brand ethos and witnessed seversl educational conversations from the bar staff to customers. An extremely comfortable environment. We finally got our table waited 45 minutes for our meal. My steak was cold my girlfriends steak was black and blue and warmer then mine. They said they comp my steak ended up charging us for my steak. Offer us a free desert the ice cream was freezer burnt and bread pudding under cooked. The manger had terrible service and blamed the order delay on no butter on the mushrooms. So disappointed writing this review on my ride home. Was at this restaurant for 3 hours. That’s how bad a party of 3 was neglected!

I've been working in the restaurant/bar scene for over 7 years and I can say without a doubt that this is one of the best food, beverage and hospitality experiences that I have ever had. Went on the recommendation of a friend, and I feel like I owe him dinner just for telling me about this place! The atmosphere is clean and classy, but not bougie (the music playing late night was awesome). I had read that they received a national award for best bar team in the country, and I see why. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Spotty took care of my friend and me at the bar, and his management and ownership should know what a quality employee they have working for them. The steaks were cut and cooked to absolute perfection, and the cocktails were made with great ingredients and even better know how. Every time I'm back in Vegas I will make it a point to return here at least once for an extremely above par dining experience.

A very old style steakhouse. Very dark and loud. Like the 1960's. Steaks are pretty expensive. Even half off during the odd happy hours. Got the Ribeyes. They were quite tasty but tougher than a premium steak should be. The sides were amateur night and just so-so. Go for the bar and drinks.

Each time we come it's always a great experience! The food amazing and I highly recommend sitting in Debra's section! She is an excellent waitress and always takes good care of us!! The music is always hitting just right! One of my favorite places to go for date night!

Off the beaten path steakhouse and craft cocktails not far from the strip. Great old school ambiance. Steaks and seafood always on point and better value than anything on the strip. Take in the cocktail menu and have one of the master mixers pour you a real drink.

A little pricy, but great value for the money. This place really shines with its drink menu! If you're looking for a vast array of high-end scratch-made adult beverages from Single Malts to Tiki drinks, this is the place. I couldn't find a single thing from the bar that wasn't fantastic. The food was also great, I had the pork chop with fig sauce. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes, but the chop was cooked perfectly and the fig sauce really tied the dish together. The French Onion soup tasted great, although the Crouton was two bread heels, which were challenging to eat without making a mess. The staff were friendly and professional and the ambiance was great: sort of a dark, intimate old-world vibe.

I came here with high expectations from what I read about Herbs and Rye. I had asked our waiter for a drink recommendation and was given one of the best cocktails I’ve had. The temperature of my steak was precise and the taste was immaculate. I would like to applaud Mark our waiter for doing a marvelous job. He was well attentive and made sure that my friends and I were fully satisfied.

Went to dinner with friends. The menu is small but had great choices. The drink menu is vast and will have you wanting many beverages. It is very dim inside just to warn you. Good for a date.

My brother came to town for a meeting, as many other business men do, he called me and ask to go have a drink and catchup. We meet at herbs and rye. Our server was outstanding, the only thing better than the service was the food. Kinda pricey but that said it was very good. I almost forgot the music was great. We had a fantastic time and my brother said we have to come here next time he is in town. About the prices, I guess it's not that bad if you realize your paying for the total experience not just the food.

Great happy hour place, also reverse happy hour for the night owls. Dark,red, Chandler old Vegas vibe. Packed!!!! go early or call ahead if your want seating and if you want a seat at the bar to hang out GO EARLYfor the 5-8 HH we had apps at the bar and drinks, didn't eat in the restaurant part. Bartenders were great and got your drinks in a timely fashion even with it packed We went on a Wed night. Limited parking ,but all in all a great place!!! Vegas must do, the vibe is GREAT .It is a little loud for a special date night, but great for a friends gathering

This place is far more than a steak house. Their take on historic cocktails is extensive and tasty. And, I've never had an appetizer calamari dish as good as this, stunning in presentation and better yet on the tongue with its pepper slices a hidden but lovely surprise. Well worth a trip off the strip!

Herbs and Rye is a strange, wonderful place. The outside is super misleading (*kind of looks like any old steak place), but the inside is very vintage and authetic looking. The steaks are great. We had the 60 oz between my husband, dad, brother, and I on one visit.... and we barely finished it! I go for the flat iron usually. Temp is always on point. The drink menu is huge and broken up by era going back to the 1700s. I don't drink, but I love looking at the cocktail menu. Downside, it can get kinda "spendy." Hubby and I only go for happy hour - half priced meats.

Great! Perfect martinis at the bar while we waited for a table. We didn’t know that we should have made a reservation, but the wait was reasonable. My ribeye (with Blu cheese crust) was tremendous. Really. Had no idea that we were seated during happy hour, steak and drinks HALF PRICE! Not sure if I'll ever visit Las Vegas again, but this is where you'll find me if I do.

I had the filet mignon and it melted in my mouth. I tried my wife's prime rib and it was out of this world. The overall experience was fantastic. The wait staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the items on the menu.

I have been in Vegas for 3 days and have not been satisfied with any place I have eaten at....until NOW. The food is absolutely DELICIOUS. Amazing little restaurant. I got the recommendation to go there and get a steak. I got the one on the picture with the house made “Herbs and Rye” sauce and didn’t regret it for a second. The steak was to the point and amazingly delicious! I can truly recommend the place even though it’s off strip. But that might be even one more reason to go there, as the waiters are friendly, knowledgeable and welcome you. I’d recommend that place to a friend! This is a clear hidden favorite! Our neighbors at the bar told us, that this place is know for its good cocktails. But I had to drive and cannot judge on that. But they’ve been looking good!

Herbs & Rye is off the strip and worth every effort to get a reservation and go to. The Whisky/Bourbon list is possibly the best I'd ever/never seen. I simply kept telling the bartender to bring me something I'd never had. Belle Meade, Noah's Mill & EH Taylor are three of the best I had never had. With such a great bar - we didn't mind the wait for the table. The food is simply amazing. The sides are unique and add to a perfect steak. Not just plain old mashed potatos or green beans as sides - you could make a meal out of their quality sides that go with their perfect steak. Go here- drink - eat and you're welcome. I may go one night just to sit at the bar next time I'm in town.
