While staying in a local AirBnb, Tommy's came highly recommended, and we could not have been more pleased! Selections are abundant and prepared to perfection. Probably the only non fast food restaurant in town. Good was good, basic breakfast choices. It was very busy for Sunday brunch. Omelet was pretty good. Toast had so.e very strange orange, yellow grease on it that would have run down my arm if I did not scrape it off. Pies looked pretty nice at least a half dozen various kinds. Staff was pleasant

We were camping in Grand Island recently, the weather turned nasty cold. Found Tommy's online and decided to try our luck for breakfast. Best decision ever!! Fast service, extremely friendly servers, and the food was so awesome, we went back the next morning. Would highly recommend!

The sign read seat yourself.. so we sat... For 10 minutes we waited and no one even approached us. Two parties that came in after us have drinks and menus within a cpl minutes. They noticably seen our frustration as we walked out and didn't even say a word.. 10 out 10 would not recommend. Doesn't matter how good the food rates if the service sucks.

One of the BEST breakfasts I've had in a LONG time! Super fast service! The wait staff were all really sweet and stayed on top of refills and our orders were quickly served. Small family restaurant with a great atmosphere. Comfy booths, plenty of table space, good strong coffee, highchairs, debit/credit/cash accepted. My small group ordered breakfast at 11:15 on a weekday and it was phenomenal with big portions! I will definitely be back! I've heard great things about their dinner menu and that the locals say it's the best place for seafood in town. Would give 10 stars if I could!

Great home cooked breakfast, huge portions, and wonderfully sweet server(Bailey). We stopped for the first time while visiting family(5 of us) 4/19. We tried everything from blueberry pancakes, omelets, eggs Benedict, and biscuits and gravy. Everything was cooked perfectly, seasoned just right, and bacon crispy! Bailey our server answered all our questions, kept our coffee mugs full, and had a kind disposition. Definitely will return soon!

Tommy's is located on North Main Street in Weaverville, NC. Tommy and his family own and operate this establishment. They have friendly staff, and I love Ma-Ma, that's what I call her. She is the most wonderful person. This was the first time I had eaten a steak in years and it was so delicious that the sounds while I was eating it were almost too much for my family at the table with me!!! You cannot go wrong eating at Tommy's whether you live there or just passing through. Come on in and enjoy!!!!

Love Tommy's. This is my go to for fantastic fried seafood. They have a huge menu, but I always stick to their ocean fare. Portions are huge and most people end up taking half of their food home with them. Also, get the red velvet cake if it's available. Best I've ever eaten.

Went to the Ne state fair; spent the night in Grand Island, and needed a place to eat dinner. My friend and I are always looking for a great place to eat while supporting the "Mom and Pops" in an unfamiliar town. We did our usual Google search and came across Tommy's. I had been craving fried chicken, and that was the first thing I seen on the menu. We got there and the place looked like an old school diner, which I thought was neat. The waitress was nice, accommodating, but not overbearing. I had the fried chicken (obviously) and my friend, the chicken fried steak. Her steak was the typical chicken fried steak (really can't screw it up too much). Her mash potatoes were real; so that was cool. My chicken was fried well. The batter was the thickness of "original recipe" but the crispness of "extra crispy." The meat was very juicy. The seasonings were the basic salt and pepper, but it was soooooo good. Mac and Cheese was good. It was creamy and cheesy but basic in flavor. The shocker for me was when we asked about the pie. My friend wanted the strawberry rhubarb. I wasn't going to order any because I'm not a fan of sweets, but I noticed on the menu they had a "Sour cream and raisin." Wth!!! We discussed it a minute, and joked a while. Could not imagine the combination. Finally we asked the waitress about it. I mean, it's on the menu so someone likes it right? So we ordered it. OMGosh. That was such an amazing piece of pie. I'm not a fan of meringue, but the pie itself was incredible! My friend loved it with the meringue. Sour cream and raisins, who knew. If you find yourself in Grand Island and want a relaxed atmosphere without settling for fast food, you have to stop in at Tommy's. Order the Sour cream and raisin pie. You won't regret it.

Came in for a late night bite to eat. Party of two, were greeted and sat immediately. Right after we arrived the place began to fill up quite a bit, which delayed service a wee bit, but nothing unreasonable! Our food came out pretty quickly (a tiny bit of a wait, because I ordered fried chicken, which was AMAZING and totally worth the extra five to seven minutes longer than if I’d chosen breakfast food instead! Seriously man, this fried chicken was EXCEPTIONAL!!) I didn’t see anyone waiting at the door to be seated, unless they were behind someone paying their bill. Fast and attentive staff, more than reasonable food service timing, and a fantastic value for the price! Hope to come in again, soon!! Two thumbs, all the way up! Don’t change a thing, guys! You’re killing it!!

I got the popcorn shrimp and white fish, with slaw, and creamed potatoes and pepper gravy and hush puppies It was wonderful, The waitress was really nice, and did a great job taking care of us. The prices are very reasonable. The only thing I myself didn't like was the tartar sauce to me it had to much relish and Im not sure why it was yellow and that kinda of worried me that it was bad. But the taste wasn't very good. But That's ok the white fish didn't need the tartar sauce anyway . I do recommend Tommy's they have a variety of food to choose.

Very mediocre. Had breakfast for the first time there. The sausage patties were cold and dry. Breakfast potatoes were boring and the sweet tea came out of a machine instead of fresh made. The fix is simple. Don't overcook the sausage initially. Put the pre-cooked patties on the flattop while the eggs cook to heat and bring out the pork fat. The sausage should be hot and glistening when served. Try offering a cheesy hashbrown casserole in addition to the potatoes. This is the south, make your sweet tea fresh. It is cheaper than the mix stuff. I will try Tommy's again sometime to see if it gets better. Also, offer more combo plates.

We ordered our food and waited 45 minutes for the food to be brought to the table. We ordered 3 breakfast meals, a lunch meal (hamburger and fries), and a kids meal. When the food arrived at the table the lunch meal looked freshly made, but all the other meals were cold, the hash browns were very very crispy almost burnt. Plus, 2 other tables were seated and they got their meals before we did. I love this restaurant and frequently go there, but on this day I was disappointed with the food.

Our waitress (i don’t remember her name other than she’d been out awhile with knee surgery) was great. We observed a couple of individuals behind us placing their order, as they were being very difficult. The waitress handled the situation with class and grace. I ordered grilled chicken and rice and was served just that with so much salt and this abundant amount of weird clear corn starchy gravy it was impossible to eat. The sweet potatoes were covered in the same looking goo but essentially just sugar. To top it off I had an anxiety attack after one of the servers came out and yelled to everyone "Who has a gray so and so car?" To the point that the whole restaurant got quiet. She yelled it several times loudly and aggressively. Then proclaimed "The owner Tommy is ready to go home and I am calling a tow truck". It's not only rude to the customers around but to the person who's car it was. It was I'm sure embarrassing. Why couldn't the server's ask their tables quietly instead of acting like the rudest nastiest people I've ever encountered. Just overall not a comfortable place to eat. The food was only for someone who has smoked two packs a day their whole life and can't taste anything or a cow who needs a salt lick. If you have PTSD also don't eat here. The worst dinning experience ever.

Who can beat their daily breakfast specials? No one! We had a waffle stack (on a Friday) and it was only $4.95. You cannot do any better than that. The make up for it with their drink and coffee prices, but the food is too delicious to deny this place a star. We will definitely come back here again and we live 2 hours away. We've also had their broasted chicken. The young waitress with the half cut hairstyle is simply fantastic. She is a GEM!

Got there early and were pleased to see how busy it was, so we knew we'd made a good choice. At 1 we were seated all together, pitchers of ice water on the tables. Then 1 waitress took care of all of us. In no time at all we had drinks, salads, soups and 16 meals out at the same time! Kudos to Eric and his staff, it was amazing! From 10 months old to 90 years old we were very happy with our dining experience.

And we didn't even get to enjoy the salad because as soon as we finally got them our food arrived. We let her know we were not happy about it. So then she wouldn't even come back to check on us. When we arrived the waitress waited to greet us because she was busy having a personal conversation with another employee before giving us her attention. We were then promptly shown to our seats in the back area that looked like food had exploded all over the place trying not to step on the food all over the floor we made our way to our table. We waited a good 40 minutes to receive our food which tbh was not all that flavorful. The water glasses they serve make you feel like your a child because of how small they are. I’ll definitely try another restaurant next time.

Everything and I mean everything was perfect. The service was outstanding. Our glasses never got past half full. The waitress filled up our glasses every time without any hesitation whatsoever!! When our food arrived the portions we're gigantic. The seafood was some of the best I've ever eaten and I've had fresh seafood in Maine. Our leftovers are enough to where we will all be able to have a nice lunch tomorrow from it!! If you want pure dining perfection look no further. Tommy's is the best.

This is the ultimate family restaurant! Delicious fresh food, reasonably priced, good service despite being short staffed at holidays. Our fried dill pickles were comped because my dad did not get his baked potato. Take your patience with you as there can be a line for waiting to be seated or take out...but it is well worth it!! Yum!

My family doesn’t always agree restaurants but we always agree on Tommy’s!! We especially love going their for breakfast! One of a dying breed. Family owned and operated. Not fancy but consistant and efficient. Sit at the counter or be seated in a booth. This place is a Dr Who call box that will take you back to the 50's - or teach you about the 50's if you don't know the 50's

Very tasty small family restaurant. It's very small and always busy when I've gone but has a surprisingly large variety menu. No frills or fancy decor, brightly lit atmosphere with very friendly and competent wait staff. So far everything I've ordered here has been cooked perfectly from ribeye and shrimp to lamb gyros. My boys love their burgers and phillys.

Really good diner. Portions are more than generous. If you get fried fish here, be prepared to take a ton home. Food tastes pretty decent. My daughter loves the Spanikopita. The Greek salad is ample and tasty. Fried were quite hot and crispy. The parking lot is always crowded as this is a local favorite. Prices are very affordable.

We were in town for trap this past weekend and I was looking forward to trying Tommy's because of the rave reviews, and it's been a while since I've had some good, homestyle fried chicken. I was underwhelmed :( the flavor was good, but the pieces were the tiniest leg and thigh I've ever seen, they were barely bigger than drummies that you get when you get an order of wings. The "salad" was just some shredded lettuce and a few tomatoes with too much dressing. Who even puts the dressing on the salad for a to-go order?!

I've never been to the restaurant.. But I've had carry out. So while I have no experience with the waiters/waitress. I have taken two of their dishes, the seafood and the burger. I'll start of with saying that the seafood was great, and had great flavor. But the reason I gave it a four star was because the burger was horrible. I even called and complained. The person I spoke to was actually nice even though I was frustrated. The burger had no seasoning, and was way too dry, it almost felt like swallowing cinnamon... I couldn't enjoy a simple burger and that's a shame. But I will say this. If you're looking for seafood, it's an amazing place to go. I truly recommend their seafood. And that's why I gave it a four!

Had supper at Tommy's tonight. Arrived about 5:30 and there was only about 5 people there. By 6 there was a line out the door. Very popular. Home cooked southern dishes were very good. Meat and three sides. Sides vary from one day to the next. The serving we're good size and the price was great. Staff was friendly and attentive. Homey atmosphere... Left full and content.

This is a loose meat sandwich that really works- a little onion, green pepper and cheese on a GREAT wheat bread with seeds that they import from Omaha. Very busy Sunday visit to this small restaurant in Weaverville. I got the last open parking space which was a tight fit. We waited approximately 10 minutes for a table. Once seated the service was quick and our waitress was attentive. I ordered the turkey and dressing which came with a side salad and 2 vegetables for approximately $10. It was excellent! My parents had the burger and both enjoyed it. All the staff were friendly.

Have lived in Grand Island for almost 10 years now and just had Tommy's yesterday for first time. Everything we ordered came piping hot and the quality/flavor was far above my expectation! From bite one until I finished my kiddos plates I was amazed. Priced right as well. Our waitress was also amazing. Took our orders patiently and did an great job with plates when our food came. Had supper here for the first time tonight and the food was amazing. Both my husband and I had the Gyro platters and they tasted amazing. The fries that came with it was actually very good also. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because of the service. Our server was Luke. Unfortunately he was less than attenative with us. He took our order and then I noticed he was distracted by another customer and was in conversation with her for over 10 mins and then turned out order in. After waiting awhile for our food my husband walked passed him and saw our food sitting in the window. Luke was still speaking to the other customer, not waiting any tables or helping any other customers for over 25 mins. We asked to be served our food by someone else. Very disappointing because the place was cozy and food was great. Service left a bad taste in our mouths.

We got drinks all right then the second drink she brought a cup of water and poured into our cups while I sat there in shock and disbelief. Don't judge a book by its cover, it's a hole in the wall but the food is amazing! My husband had fried shrimp and grouper and I had braised lamb shank and we both had enough leftovers for another meal apiece! I highly recommend Tommy's!
