First and last visit to The Woodcliff Restaurant for my family, the table we sat down at was dirty and that was just the start.... we noticed the salt shaker was dirty on the inside and we opened it and what we found inside was nothing close to clean, still being in an okay mood we started to eat our Beer Cheese Fries appetizer we ordered.... that had a funky smell and taste to it as well. Being open minded and willing to give multiple chances that's what we did. I got 2 kids meals, one Mac N Cheese and one Chicken Strip meal, my wife got a burger and fries and I ordered the Bourbon BBQ steak sandwich.... HUGE mistake, it had something very wrong with the flavor (and I'm not usually the picky person) but I had my wife try it and she immediately spit it out in disgust. At this point as well my daughter and son both refused to touch the macaroni and cheese... which is odd for them. I didn't want to leave hungry so I took just one bite of that and was not prepared for the mess I was about to get myself in to, it was gritty, over seasoned, and had way too much going on for a meal for kids. I then said something to the waitress about my food, and her response was a laugh and her saying she would talk to the chef about it and have it removed from the bill, (I didn't mention the macaroni and cheese at that moment) but we she came back she took empty plates and we then told her she could have the bowl of "homeade" macaroni and cheese because both kids were not going to eat it. Her response again was a laugh and told us she would "talk to the chef" at this point I asked to speak to a manager.... and I got the owner, she was very friendly and sorry for our experience but seemed to get offended when I told her the macaroni was not "homeade"... she took care of more than half of our bill but I still feel like my concerns as a patron fell on deaf ears, I will add that we searched all over for places to eat in Fremont and we went out of our way to go here, and should have turned around when we showed up to see an empty parking lot at 515pm on a Friday evening. Just goes to show you that you can never fully trust online reviews.
