El Rey is amazingly authentic and great. The sauces have flavor. The dishes are full platters of food and it is not expensive. I do wish they would carry lingua-cow tongue as menu promises. I have been going a decade since being introduced. Come in from council bluffs so it is worth the drive.

I am mexican and they have lots of good things i got a burito and it was the best i am actually eating some right now they are not open today because of labor day but that was so good and yes a am a girl little girl and i cant even forget when i took a first bite it was so cheesy i typed all of this to tell you guys that this is my favorite restaurant i dare you to try the salsa they are spicy hope you did try it

Only reason I give it a two star, because I ordered a burrito and my family was there also, but took 20-30 just to get food it wasnt that busy. When I got the food I didnt get burrito I got something else and did not taste good

A friend turned me on to this place wanting to break me free of my addiction to abelardos. I've gotta say the burritos are good, they feel more "authentic" I guess you could say. The little extras they throw in are a nice touch. My only issue is the price is a bit steeper than what I'm used to for not much more, but that's only my opinion.

I frequent this restaurant and have been overcharged multiple times when using a credit card. The receipt given to me never matches what I actually get charged. They will say $23 but then I will be charged $28. Beware! I mentioned this to them and they just said sorry the manager isn't here, didn't refund me. Also the bag was disgusting and was drenched with so much sauce that it soaked all the napkins. Shame on you El Rey, don't waste your money on this place.

Good authentic food, plus they add extra stuff you request in the burritos which is great when you want something specific. The burritos are my favorite thing here and are big for the money. Definitely worth going here for some quick Mexican food.

Food is decent, but very limited options for non-pork eaters or vegetarians since they put chorizo in ALL their beans despite the fact that so many people nowadays are turning to more vegetarian like lifestyles. There are plenty of other great Mexican restaurants in town who do a much better job providing veggie/meat free options!

I have only been here twice before. The place is busy. The service is good. The rice was dry, the beans were good the enchiladas were cheese in corn tortillas and good, the stuffed pepper was good. Plenty of parking but the place can be busy on a corner lot with good street access.

Nothing really to rave about. You can get the same kind of tacos anywhere else on 24th Street. I do like their Menudo. Watch your check. I've had to correct the total several times. Not a bad taco joint.
