Ordered the Icelandic Haddock basket and red beans & rice. My meal was a to go order and even by the time I got home my food was outstanding!! The fish was very fresh and flavorful without the overbearing fish taste. The batter is exactly what they promised. Nice and thin! The red beans and rice are the best I've ever had and I'm an expert having lived in Biloxi Mississippi! Will most definitely return to try some of their other dishes.

Pretty good restaurant. Also has a place to buy fresh seafood inside the building which is nice. Clam chowder is definitely not New England style, but still tasty. I thought the chips with the fish and chips were interesting. More like a tator tot.

Food was good, but upset mine and my wife's stomach pretty bad. Also we had bloody marys, and the condiments that they put on top of the bloody mary tasted bad. The shrimp on the stick smelled like feet, and was slimy.

Best seafood restaurant in Omaha. It is local to Omaha and has a menu of po boys, lobster rolls, fish entrees, and live oysters. I been to Boston a few times and although you cant compare the seafood here to Boston, it will definitely satisfy your cravings for similar seafood. I had the lobster roll this time and it was good and had tons of lobster meat. This is a great gem in Omaha. Highly recommended

We came to visit the zoo for a quick weekend getaway, and found this wonderful place! Small, comfortable, and friendly. The food though!!! Best clam strips ever, yummy spicy Bloody Mary, good beer selection, shrimp and grits, clam chowder, fresh oysters.... all amazing! Wish we had one of these restaurants in Wichita! It would be a regular spot for us!

so went to shucks tonight with my wife and parents which was my dad's 74th birthday and the service sucked bad. The waiter never returned to the table to ask if we wanted another drink, ask how the food was ask if we needed anything, we got nothing. I had to go get my dad sugar for his coffee, my wife had to go to the bar to get him ice tea and when you spend 80 dollars an the service is that bad i don't know if i want to return. Then we get the excuse that the waiter just had surgery if he is that slow maybe he is not ready to return. I do not do reviews but my dad is not in the best health and this just really bothered me. So while the food was really good service was less then enjoyable.

Love this place. We don't make it here very often due to a 7 year old that has her own ideas about food. Went for a date night without the kiddo and the food was out of this world. I had the special Shrimp and Grits, I wish I could have that everyday it was so good. Love the atmosphere and service.

The best "no coast" seafood restaurant I have been to -- felt like stepping into an authentic bayside fish shanty. I'm told this place got their start as a seafood distributor for local high-end places before entering the restaurant game. Not going to get fresher in the Midwest.

The snow crab legs are amazing! You get veggies, rice, and a grilled baguette with it too. Super filling and super delicious! Even the veggies have great flavor and seasoning. My husband gets the fish and chips. The tartar sauce is one of a kind, and really tasty. It's always a favorite.

Gets busy so plan ahead but the food is always amazing. Team works very well together so even if your server gets tied up, another is almost always immediately available to help. Very nice gluten free menu with plenty of options, and great care given to avoid cross contact with non-gf.

First time experience. Started with calamari and oysters. FRESH & TASTY! Then salads: house and seaweed. We laughed at the seaweed because it is a petite sized salad. The house dressing is addictive and goes well with French fry dipping too! The seaweed salad has an overpowering sesame seed flavor - I didn’t enjoy - but he loved it. Our main dishes were fresh and amazing - his lobster sandwich was a better deal and much more flavorful then the salmon, rice and veggie plate I chose. Personal preference... Price is on point. Atmosphere is incredible. Staff enjoy their job and making each customer have a wonderful experience. WILL RETURN AGAIN!

Went here for the first time and it happened to be crab night. It was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly! I had the snow crab and really enjoyed it. The veggies were also very good and seasoned perfectly. Staff is friendly and attentive. Will definitely return to try some other items on the menu! This is a low key place with some amazing fresh seafood.

I absolutely love Shucks and have been a loyal customer for over 10 years, the restaurant and fresh seafood to buy and cook at home home - Pacific St being my favorite. It’s always a go-to for out-of-town friends and family for special occasions. Unfortunately, one night just two weeks ago, my friend in town from Arizona and I enjoyed a great dinner, talking and finishing up to then be very rudely kicked out. My friend felt awkward. I asked if that had ever happened to her - in her 60-year-old life - and she said no. Not ever. We told the person working we’d not ever been kicked out of a restaurant before even if 20 minutes after the closing time. He said we could go elsewhere if we didn’t like it...and a few other strange, taunting comments. I just expected a civil conversation as to the urgency to leave. We would have gladly obliged. We left very disappointed after what started as a nice evening. Would rate 1 star, but as I said, there are so many other good things about Shucks. Very disheartened by the experience, not sure I’ll be able to go back with the old sentiment I used to have.

The food was "OK" good. I had fish & chips and also the cajun catfish & chips combo. The cajun was better, but that wasn't my issue. I wasn't expecting this to be a seafood grocery store with a restaurant in it / or was it a restaurant with a grocery store in it?!!! Either way, it killed the atmosphere and the mood of the setting. The shrimp cocktail was not really a cocktail, so maybe renaming it for what it really is would be a start. The Calamari comes with some kind of sweet-spicey sauce "so I was told" but really !!!!!!!. Hummm not sure what is that about!! The Bloody Mary was good, and the service was fast. It was so fast I wondered if things got cooked to order or if this is a fancy fast food place. Staff was kind and friendly. Over all experience was just OK. I would not go back, on the other hand.

What a great little place. Seats maybe 50-70 people at most, focuses on the experience rather than volume, but wow is the food good. Seafood is fresh and flavorful no matter what you order, and the service was excellent. We did of course have one dedicated waiter, but they work as one team there with other wait staff filling drinks, removing plates, etc. Great atmosphere, food was excellent, will definitely be back.

The food was great and I am excited to go back and try more dishes. We were disappointed in our server though. He never checked on us to make sure everything was ok and he didn't refill drinks even though one glass was empty for most of the meal. UPDATE 03.13.2019: This place is still heaven in my mouth. Do what you will with that information, but seriously, still the BEST PLACE IN OMAHA for raw oysters. Previous: I've been going here for years. I love this place. Out of all the Shucks locations, this is the one I prefer. The service and oyster shucking are amazing. I cannot recall any time I've ever been dissatisfied here. Highly recommend if you love raw oysters.

The food is really great. I had a lobster roll and loved it.The service was terrible and it made me sad because I had waited to get out to this place. The waiter we ordered drinks from (a juice and a water) took 20 minutes to bring them back. Another waiter brought our food, the original server pretty much never checked on us after we received our food so we waited like 20 minutes to be able to request a refill on our drinks. Once I ordered a refill on my drink I did not receive it till we were completely done eating and I then also had to wait at least 15 more minutes to get the check . I don't mind a leisurely meal generally. I honestly do not pay to go out only to get rushed out of places. But the inattentiveness on a $60 check is unacceptable. I would reconsidered eating in because of this.

The place is a local icon for a reason. From the map @ the entrance (showing where all the seafood comes from; to the phenomenal fried calamari or the great selection of fresh fish... A nice cold beer & great entrees. I cannot explain the difference in the fish taste of a real fish house! We will be back. Likely downtown as it is closer to us. Thanks for the great food! I have eaten here multiple times. Its always good. I just have a hard time justifying the price. Yes, fresh seafood is hard to get in Omaha, but I still feel as though it is over priced. Speaking on the taste of the food, it is always flavorful and fresh. The portion sizes are also perfect, not to large or small. This place also has a great atmosphere that adds to the experience of the food.

For a seafood restaurant in the Midwest they have a great selection of fresh catch and other Cajun and Italian inspired seafood dishes. We got the shrimp cocktail, Blue Points, Po’boy, and shrimp risotto and would order them again when we go back. Good beer selection, too. Not many restaurants around Omaha serve Dogfish Head

This is going to sound strange, but Shucks does vegetable accompaniments really well. There are not a lot of restaurants in the metro area that do vegetables seriously. The fish is obviously awesome, but if you are looking to hit your side out of the park, Shucks is your place. Lots of customization possibilities for your sides. The wait staff also have a great sense of humor and are very helpful. I just keep coming back and back to this place.

I gave four stars because the fish is SO fresh, and you can taste it. I ate a salmon poke bowl, which was a lighter portion. Delicious! A seaweed salad that came with my meal had a bed of lettuce under it, which seemed okay- though it was basically fluffy lettuce topped with seaweed. I drank a black cherry cocktail and a house margarita. Both we're pretty disappointing. We ordered a dozen oysters and they were the highlight of the entire visit. The service was fast-paced and not personal, we struggled to get the check and waters. Those who ran food were fast, but anything the food runners didn't bring to us took some time. I don't think I'd come here with anyone, but my family enjoys it. Shucks can improve by more personable service and a better drink menu.

My friend and I ended up here after leaving Herbes Sainte for the poor initial service we received there. The service was great and the food was even better. The space was intimate, so those who don’t mind being in close proximity to others around them would enjoy the atmosphere.
