We came right after the Husker game and decided to try it since the parking lot was empty. Once inside we could see many empty tables. The host asked if we had a reservation and we didn't. It certainly didn't look like we needed one. We sat there for 15 minutes and saw several tables served who came in after us. No waiter ever stopped by our table with water, nor did they stop by to let us know they would be right with us. The food may be decent but we will never know. We left to dine elsewhere...I wonder if anyone ever knew we were there. Too many other good restaurants in Omaha with excellent service. This was a total fail.

Joe Martinez

Great service and food

Ryan Chilson

Everything I've had here has been of the highest quality. Fresh ingredients, sensible portions, and a fun and exciting constantly changing menu. Not your standard restaurant that's just doing the same as everyone else, the items on the menu have been well thought out and are perfectly executed.

Adam Gaines

Love Railcar! So many great restaurants in Omaha but we like to get back here routinely. Always great service, delicious and unique choices. Can book online with Google or Opentable. Highly recommend!

My Wife and I were looking for a nice sit down restaurant that we haven’t been to and we came upon the Railcar. We made a reservation online and when we showed up we had little to no wait as they were prepping a table for us. The hostess sat us at our table and then a servicer came up to us to take our order and it ended up being the owner, as they were busy. He said he wanted to make sure his customers were taken care of and that he would be serving us until a server became available...needless to say he served us all night and it was phenomenal. When the food came out I ordered my steak medium rare and he asked me to cut into it to make sure it was prepared correctly and it was. My dish and my wife’s dish both had amazing flavor. We would recommend this place and would come back any time.

Food was not that good for soup and salad. Not pleased at all.

This restaurant was simply Amazing!! We are in town visiting from Little Rock. Great atmosphere, Friendly staff, Wonderful presentation of food and it was delicious. Definitely a Must, if you are in the area or traveling through!! I'm Very Impressed!!!

Not great for allergies. We went for a special mother’s day brunch. I was really looking forward to it. After mentioning my shellfish allergy, I was told there was only one meal on the whole menu that could be made for me. It wasn’t really my taste, but we had already been there for 30 mins and my son and husband were hungry so we stayed. I was really looking forward to French toast. Instead I had the eggs Florentine which was an acid bomb with all the artichoke hearts and goat cheese. It was a real downer for my special day. I understand wanting to avoid cross contamination, but they really couldn’t pull out a new pan for some French toast?

Service was good nice young man took very good care of us, but that's as far as I would go, way over priced for the quality of food the ribeye was flat tasting and as my wife described it 1 step above boot leather. Will not return. The 2 stars we're for the waiter.

Ashley clements

Expensive high quality food. Tasteless...almost like they're afraid of seasoning and lack of attentive servers

Account Manager

Nice details and good food. I like the variety.

Daniel Douglas

Great food! Great staff! Great time!

C Rundle

Over priced and not worth it. It was a half hour before anyone came to us and asked us if we wanted drinks, another 20 before we were asked what we wanted from the menu, and then another 30 min before we got food that was cold. As nice as the restaurant is, and the amount of people I saw standing around, I was not impressed. I will not be back. I can make my own cold Brussels sprouts Mac and cheese thanks.

Great foods and Great service. There are a lot of good things going for this restaurant. All the foods are locally sourced and you can tell the difference. Great rustic decor. One of my biggest pet peeves when I eat any restaurant is the weight (weight balance, this is my weird habit to check the silverware if it is well balance, my wife always laugh at me every time I try to check that) and quality of the silverware. The silverware at the RailCar Modern America Kitchen are very good quality and perfectly weighted. All the sauce/Gravy/pesto are made from scratch in the house. The butter they serve, that is also house made whipped butter (so good). Just make sure you reserve your table ahead of time, they are super busy and weighting time at the door could be very long (there is not enough weighting room there either) if you do not book your table before you arrive.

HBIC

We held a dinner party for 35 people here and I just can't say enough good things about it! The food was excellent and the staff was professional and very pleasant. The restaurant let us customize the menu to suit our needs and the party room had a wonderful atmosphere. They even set up the kids table with coloring supplies and small containers of playdough and a few other items to keep the kids happy and entertained! They truly went above and beyond.

Rhyan Klabunde

Great environment, higher price, good service! Fries were a bit overseasoned but overall meal was good

Cole Poulson

I buy booze at the mega saver, they shares a parking lot...I've never been to Rail Car, but I heard there's a super fly hottie Workin there! ;)

Scott Fletcher

Great food and they have a meeting room for your group needs.

Brian Patera

Great atmosphere and even better food. Highly recommended. This is Omahas hidden gem!

Renee Rose

First time here. Love the food, atmosphere, and our server. Chris the manager was very attentive and nice. Will def go back!

Consuelo Kelley

took a group to dinner and was the only one who had been there previous. Everyone loved the drinks ( the group tried Sangria, Wine, Mixed drinks) and its a picky group of drinkers. We had many appetizers as well since it was happy hour. Our main dishes were fish, chicken and beef and everyone was very happy. Now the enviornment is not stuffy and some might feel its not fancy enough but once the food arrives they will settle down to whats important. Its not an inexpensive place but think it is reasonable for Omaha standards. Portions were good enough to please big guys but ladies don't feel overwelmed either. Make reservations casue the word has been out for a couple years now.

Morgan Fogelman

I always drive by this place and never have given it a thought to eat here, but I am sure glad I did! Food was delicious and our waitress was great!! Would definitely recommend as a place to meet friends for dinner and drinks or for a date night.

Randy Thomson

We stopped to have breakfast. Just another basic restaurant.

Betty Mabry

Went for brunch today Saturday and was not impressed. Ordered the chicken and waffles and it was not that great, had only two small pieces of chicken. Also ordered the bottomless mimosas and they were very weak. Found a hair in the donut appetizer they brought us, but gave us the tasteless lemon pancakes free. I will not be returning.

Matt Veatch

Thoughtful brunch menu, quality ingredients, good execution, friendly service. Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Try them.

Korey B

The atmosphere and staff were amazing. The food was a bit pricey, and would probably be worth it for a more educated pallet than mine. I will probably go back at least once to try something else.

Marshall Lewis

Was expecting a simple bar and grill but experienced a higher quality of food & service. We happened in at opening time so was essentially empty but filled up quickly. Nice atmosphere, relaxed, & extremely clean.

Cory B

First time eating there tonight 7/7/18. Food was really good. Had crab cakes, Cajun pizza, lobster hush puppies and pretzel cheese curbs off of the reverse happy hour menu, and wow was it all good. Hats off to the chef and to our waitress Meaghan. Couldn't have asked for a better overall experience with service, food and atmosphere. We will for sure be back!

Chelsey Lyn

The wait staff is friendly and the food is phenomenal. It's a little pricey but worth it if you're wanting a night to treat yourself or someone else. Highly reccomend the pork belly tostadas and the red sangria.

Jeremy Capello

The service was fine. We ordered the lobster hush puppies for an appetizer, the filet medallions and burger for our meal and the sundae for dessert. Nothing was _bad_ but nothing was great either. Everything was under seasoned. Even their vinegarette could use some seasoning. The hush puppies didn't taste much of lobster and was served with very little sauce drizzled over the top. They should have come with more sauce and on the side (instead of on top). The steak was served right on top of the mashed potatoes. I hate it when restaurants do that. Thinking it's fancy or something. The mashed potatoes always end up a dense, soggy, mess. It was also medium and was ordered med rare. The burger was a bit too sweet for my taste and didn't have very good contrast of textures. It was all just kind of flat and mushy. Their fries were also over done. And one last time, everything needed more salt. And as a side note all the meals looked very gray/dark, they could use more color from some vegetables or something.

zascherl

Went on a date with my wife there. Good was great. Good selection of drinks, although I didn't care for the local cider. Just enough nose that others can't hear your conversation, but not too much that you can't hear your date. The exterior is misleading. It's a nice hidden gem.

Jed Glaze

AMAZING PLACE TO DINE! EXCELLENT FOOD AND DRINKS! GREAT SERVICE!

Janet Nabity

Went there for lunch last week with sisters. Got the French onion soup, which was good and the Caesar salad which was not very good. The lettuce was made with field greens and should have been made with Romaine lettuce. Also, there was barely a teaspoon of dressing on the salad. Construction was going on in the restaurant while we had lunch. Very noisy.

Cale Oglesby

The food is usually good but I've always had unfortunate experiences with slow & forgetful service for our call ahead large group, smaller than expected portions, and the railcar lands on the high side of price. Leaves the feeling of "almost, but not quite". The burger is good and I would eat there again but I'd skip if I was in a hurry.

Brandon L

Came in for dinner tonight and was treated terribly by the waitress in the bar area. We were the only ones in her section but she definitely didn’t have time for us. I’ve been to this place many times before and it’s very inconsistent with quality of food and service. For the prices they charge, the service and food should be much better than it is. We ordered one beer and left. Not coming back, don’t waste your money here.

Fremont Audiology

Great food! The beef short rib stroganoff is to die for!

Ray Tincher

Great wait staff, delicious menu selection and a modest price point make this a restaurant you should visit if you haven't done so. The test kitchen portion of the menu had some fun and interesting selections. I will be back again in the near future.

Robert Kalinowski

There was a hair in my fries. They brought me new fries, but didnt knock anything off my bill. I feel like they fixed the situation, but certainly didn't go above and beyond. Burger was fine, the replacement fries were just okay.

Kelly Walsh

Breakfast nachos were delicious! My friend loved her food as well. We also had a very fun waiter.

Aaron Geiser

To start (and to be fair) - the food was excellent. Unfortunately there are others factors that weigh in on the experience. Knowing it would be busy we made reservations. We checked in and were told a table was being cleared.....25 mins later (no table, no communication) we saw two spots open at the bar and jumped on it. There were 3 bartenders working and it was pretty obvious none of them "wanted" to wait on us....but after some time one of them stepped up to get our drink order.....and eventually, after having to ask, we got a food order in. I won't get into super detail....but we got a very clear view of a few bar "no no's" happening while we waited for our food. Things that could most def get them into hot water if they got caught doing (it'll just be a matter of time). Overall the 3 stars could easily be fixed with better employees who actually care about their job and respect the basic rules of service industry. Unfortunately general customer appreciation is not taught or even remotely managed at the Railcar. (Your best experience would probably be to get your food to-go.)

Jon Meyers

Great food and service. My wife and I always walk away impressed.

John Neppl

Overall pretty disappointing. Father's Day dinner with the family. Sat in far back room next to a two-wheeler (left sitting out) and an open door to the storage room...not exactly the ambiance we were looking for. Ordered two diff bottles of wine (white/red), served white immediately. took 15 mins to come back and tell us the red wine was not available. Had to take forks and appetizer plates from another table because server went missing for a while after another staff member dropped off the app and bolted without asking if we wanted plates. Two different waitstaff dumped trays of water onto the floor at nearby tables. Not a stellar evening at the old railcar. Food was good, but impossible to overcome the rest of it. I don't whine about experiences very often, but this was too far outside me level of tolerance.

Dr. Kate Duncan

Hands down this is my favorite place for brunch. The menu is amazing. The atmosphere is relaxing, yet upscale. You always get a table promptly. Service is efficient and friendly. The croquet madame is my go to favorite. They also have a variety of bloody mary's and bottomless mimosas. If you have not been here you are missing out.

Taylor Nicolaisen

Nicest strip mall restaurant I've ever been to. Good food, a little spendy.

Rachel Tincher

Delicious food! I will be back!

Taylor B

Amazing place

Ryndin Max

Very slowly prepare order for Grubhub. Wait +15 min after come. About 10% guest inside. No busy time.

Bob Horton

Amazing food, superior service, and a comfortable dining area made for one of the finest dinners I've had in some time. The salmon was the hands-down best I've ever eaten, and fellow diners raved about the ribeyes. The only downside was that several side items, deserts, and beers were out of stock. Regardless, the available options were top notch. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.

A NL

The chicken and the goat sandwich was the best chicken sandwich I've ever ate. Also can't beat the bottomless mimosas and the flavor options for only $15.00. Will be going back again for brunch.

Alan Brugler

Nice place for Sunday brunch.

Marta Kirchner

Dined here for Valentine's Day, but not as great as I previously experienced throughout the years. We started with the Maryland crab cakes for an appetizer...very sloppy, didn't hold together at all. Am I the only one that cooks crab cakes with a crust? The "cakes" we're tasty though. I ordered the short ribs strogonoff and my date ordered the shrimp & scallops risotto. My short ribs weren't trimmed at all and were very greasy. I was literally pulling fat membrane and gristle out of them. I couldn't eat it, but my date offered to trade his dish with me. Once he pulled out the heap of fat he said it was tasty. The shrimp & scallops risotto were delicious. The service was wonderful and very attentive. The pretzel bread which is always served at the beginning of the meal is a treat.

Dave Biedermann

Impeccable food. Impeccable wait staff

Laura Betz

Such good food and service

Shea Slater

Had to change my rating. This is the third time now we visited and had terrible service. Multiple times just angry, bad at their job, and beyond rude. We've been here over a dozen times and probably won't be back.

Mick Occhiuto

I'm a regular but my last two trips have not impressed. I had a business lunch, waiter was a pest! I asked for a table in the back for that reason, we had paperwork on the table - TAKE A HINT! Also, food quality and preparation has declined a great deal over the last 6 months. This was no different. Quit screwing with the menu.

Steve Jacobs

Great food and fun to see neighbor's and friends, and meet new ones. Staff is terrific.

Mary Colling

Fabulous food and our waitress Linda was amazing. A must go to. Check out the weekly specials.

Samantha Slater

Food and atmosphere are both amazing! Service is awful. We we're constantly wondering where our server was, and my brother-in-law actually got up to try to find him and couldn't. Drinks were empty the entire 2 hours we were there. The server wasn't pleasant at all, in fact he hardly spoke at all and made it seem like we were a burden (even though the restaurant had many open tables). Wish the service was better as this has always been one of our favorite restaurants for brunch.

Jennifer Goff

Great food! We had to wait 30 minutes to be seated even though we had a reservation or I would have given a 5 Star review

Jean Edwards

Wonderful food, beautifully presented. The crab cake appetizer was delicious! Many nice happy hour food, wine, and other beverage choices.

Annette Lynch

We went for happy hour and had some great appetizers and some beer and 2 Moscow Mules. The pork belly tostada is our favorite appetizer and we have been to the Modern Railcar several times. The pretzel crusted cheese curds are also excellent. The other 2 appetizers we got were the Korean popcorn chicken and Thai chicken flatbread. They were both really tasty. Thanks to the happy hour special, all of this food and beverages were only $50. Otherwise, we probably would have not had 4 appetizers.

Felicia Rogers

Private party arrangements were simple to make and easy on the budget. The food was, quite frankly, off the charts!! Many thanks to Jenna and Heather for providing impeccable service! Casual environment, upscale fare - - do yourself a favor and stop in for one of the best meals you'll ever have, you won't be sorry.

Patrick McCracken

Great food, very nice kids menu. Decent service

Tanja Shelton

Went there for a Sunday brunch. Was a little disappointed with the menu selection but what I got was fairly good. The bottomless mimosas were excellent.

Abigail Nelson

I've been here probably a dozen times, and they never disappoint. Everything on the menu looks delicious! I usually get the pork belly tostadas to share, and the French onion soup, which are always super good. Today I also had a half Cubano, which was fine but definitely not worth ordering again, considering what other amazing things they have to choose from. Worth trying: Pork Belly Tostadas, Lobster Hush Puppies, Thai Chicken Lavash, Chicken Schnitzel, Pasta Saltimbocca, Wagyu Burger, French Onion Soup

Janelle Hardy

Dinner and dessert were delicious!! Amazing service too. We love the Railcar. This is our 3rd visit in 6 weeks! Fantastic menu, great atmosphere and the food is made from scratch! Yummy!!

Candice Mcintosh

Always have a solid meal at Railcar. Consistent and creative at both Brunch and dinner.

Jennifer

Have visited a couple times now for work events and have not been impressed. Drinks are overpriced, service was ok, and food is not great. Happy hour was $9 glasses of wine. Would not choose to go back. Much better options for dining in Omaha.

Susan Kiley

Decided to give the ‘brunch’ a go as we’ve been to dinner and enjoyed. We came first thing as they opened and was seated at a high top in the bar... Coffee if you want black is delish per my partner. I on the other hand prefer almond or soy milk instead of creamer or regular milk. They do not have so I stuck with water. But..they do push their alcoholic drinks. Oh, but after seeing one of the servers use a straw to ‘take something out’ and then swirl the drink before taking to a table...I’ll pass on any type of mixed drink. My partner ordered Breakfast Lavash —he enjoyed his pizza flat thing. I ordered their prime rib and potato cake with a side of French toast. This is where it goes south...fast. We watched a gal walk around with a side of French toast. Finally after she walked the entire place and in/out of the kitchen twice decided to come over to us. I believe she was a manager. She dropped it off and went to take off when I asked if it was usual to drop off our side without our food? The French toast was very soggy because it’d been sitting and then walked all over the restaurant. Had it came out hot and not soggy, the flavor would have been much better. Our food came out shortly after. She didn’t apologize or come back over and check on us. My main dish.... Prime Rib & Potato Cakes Prime rib —well done and flat. The taste was a reheated microwaved piece of ick. I had to use the bread / steak knife to cut. It was disgusting....One bite and the rest in a to go box for my dog. Upon asking our server he said they have Prime Rib Friday and Sat — it’s the leftovers. I paid $15+ for LEFTOVERS? Thanks, but no! The potato cakes appeared crispy on the outside and almost crunchy barely thawed on the inside. The flavor wasn’t bad, but I couldn’t get over the ‘undone’ texture. Again...probably leftovers from the previous evening. The server didn’t seem to care when I complained and apparently didn’t say anything to a manager or did and he / she just didn’t care. Either way, training on customer service is key. I got a to go box to give my dog a $15 reheated piece of steak. Would I return? Not for brunch, and frankly, may have issues getting over if their food is fresh or reheated from previous nights. Don’t expect to have salt, pepper or hot sauce...you have to request these items and when the pepper is ‘stuck’ given a toothpick to unstick it. Sad. Wouldn’t be as bad had we not travelled 30+ mins. Return? A lot has to happen for me to get up on a Sunday and chose this place out of the 20+ places in Omaha.

Scott Damery

Amazing food, tasted many meals and each one was a masterpiece

Carl Holmes

I usually get food to go as I live in the neighborhood. Prices compatible with niche restaurants, glad to have a PBR!! Rachel the bartendress extraordinaire always has has a smile! Glad to be recognized as a regular customer. Keep rockin'!

Jennifer Vogel

Pasta was delicious. Prime rib not so much. Lobster hush puppies were rock hard and not very tasty. Shrimp and crab soup was awesome. Service very very very slow. Server forgot to bring my husband his wine during dinner. By the time she returned to check on us we were finished.

Kelly Latimer

My second visit and still a 5 star ! The food is of exceptional quality. The service tremendous. Drinks very good, too. I would highly recommend Railcar.

Melissa Turner

The wagyu burger is amazing!

Mark Ford

First visit. Great menu, but a little pricey.

Abraham K

Food was a bit high priced (16 for a burger) but the meh part is that this food is made with great ingredients and has no flavor. It was extremely bland.

Liz Gac

Delicious and creative foods! Always finding something interesting to try. The price range of food is wonderful, you can splurge and spend $30 on a scallop and crab entree, or be just as happy with a $15 burger. The happy hour and reverse happy hour are enough for a full meal! Sweet potato puffs are a must try, and a diner in my party loved her creative cauliflower sandwich!

nick miller

This restaurant combines a wonderful atmosphere with delectable foods, drinks, and desserts. The jambalaya came in a wonderful large bowl with 2 pieces of baked chicken on top of the rice, sausage, and shrimp. The The cronuts were light, flaky, and supremely made. I challenge you to find something underwhelming here.

Andy R

Food was ok, a little too fancy for my taste. Our server was great though. My wife loved it.

Aaron Barbee

This fancy, little place sits in a very unassuming strip mall. You'll be surprised when you walk in. It's very nice and the service is excellent; very attentive. Drinks were good and appetizers were solid. Cuban sandwich was definitely the strangest one I've ever had; not a fan. I was here with several others for a work dinner and still worried about prices. It's a little fancier than I would ever choose for a regular night out. First date? Probably.

Ben Meszaros

We came here with a large group of about 20 people. We had a rest meal in the back room. The food was excellent and the service we good as well. I can't remember what my meal was but I remember it was really good. Everyone else at the table also was quite happy with their meal. I also got a Moscow mule while I was there which was excellent, served in the copper mug.

Matt Bonham

We had a lovely dinner on Friday night. My wife had one of the Omaha restaurant week specials. Very nice. My prime rib was perfect!

A C

The place was empty and yet the service was slooooow

Courtney Veazey

Good food, cute restaurant. 4 stars because it is a bit expensive and not a huge selection on the menu. If I remember correctly, there’s no kids menu. Or maybe it was just too expensive because I remember my kids sharing with me.

Cecilia Ellis

I took our college bound daughter to eat here last Friday. The place was hopping with several groups waiting for a table. For an appetizer we shared truffle fries which were so tasty I didn’t have time to snap a photo. We went simple and got sandwiches (chicken and goat) and a burger. Our sides were regular fries and sweet potato tots. The meal was simply delicious. We’ll be back again!!

Vollmer22

This place was as amazing. Brian was the best. He made a suggestion and we ordered and was not disappointed. If you go to Railcar sit with Brian he'll take care of you and get you the best food. Oh and get the cronut dessert!

Gregg Drabek

Nice little restaurant in a strip on 144th. Clean and friendly. Food is better than good and they pride themselves on quality. My ribs were served fairly cool and I could hardly complain when the plate was on its way back to the kitchen for refire. Awesome result. Highly recommend!

Matt Heck

Bottomless mimosas for brunch. Food was really solid. Service was pretty good.

Brian Dinkel

Excellent food, service and atmosphere

Benjamin Smail

I never want to eat another croissant unless it comes from Railcar Modern American Kitchen. I’m seriously ready to make that pledge. We had brunch there a couple weeks ago and everything was very nice but the croissant they brought us to share before our meal was completely unforgettable. I don’t know if we were just completely famished when we went or the timing was just perfect but, man, that croissant was incredible. It had just the lightest amount of sugar on top. It was airy and fresh. We bragged about that croissant to several people later that day. That was our first brunch experience there so I don’t know if this is something they do for everyone but it’s well worth a trip just to try that beautiful croissant.

Sarah McDiarmid

One of our favorite places. Never disappoints.

terry leahy

Food and service excellent. Nice quiet atmosphere.

Sherri Hinkel

Love this place. Jared does a great job of mixing up the menu by adding new items and keeping the favorites available.

Lance Fernandes

Went for breakfast here while in Omaha. Great place, fast service and delicious food.

Keelan Jones

Great food! Nice environment. New regular spot for me.

Jeff Kunkel

Very friendly staff, I forget the gals name that is the GM, but she's great! Nate Anderson was very accommodating to several out of the ordinary requests and let drinks full and food hot. The pretzel cheese curds are awesome!!!

Rich Record

oh no!!!!! My goto place with my goto Chicken Schnitzel---They made a change and not for the better---The chicken (2 dinners) was rubbery and tough...LIke they went from pounded chicken to pressed or froze..They got rid of the asparagus and serves this odd vegetable cole slaw stuff...I dont know how i will recover from this..Very sad...

David Nesbit

The long wait for seating was worth it. The breakfast was really well made, the interior design had a homey funkiness to it and the service was great. If you can get in on a sunday morning totally worth it.

Jason Kyzer

Ribeye special was really good. Good wine selection. Excellent brussel sprouts!

er schnak

Excellent spot for late night drinks. Quiet enough for a convo

Contessa Crees

Horrible & expensive. Waitstaff was rude food was overseasoned

ravonte inc

The food is really well cooked, however EXTREMELY over priced for what you receive. Unless of course, you like spending $30 for lunch.

Amanda B

The food here is amazing! I’m never disappointed in their food! I’ve been here for brunch many times, and usually it’s great! Today, not so much. Bottom less mimosas were a joke! $15 dollars for orange juice! They can’t put more than a splash of champagne in their mimosas. I feel like I totally got hosed! Also, our service wasn't great. I think I will find a new brunch spot. So sad about it too!

Jaime Briganti

You can't order anything bad here! Great date night spot, co-worker lunch, drinks with the crew, or a late night snack!

Robert Anderson

The Waygu steak was amazing. Best steak ive ever had!!!!! Perfectly prepared.

Katherine Niebur

Had crab and shrimp bisque, and filet medallions dinner. Really excellent, and so was the service. Went out of our way to eat here. Would do it again!

Mark Cooper

Great service good food can't ask for any thing else!

Jennifer Chandarlis

The reason for the 3 stars is based on my Easter Brunch experience. Their chilaquiles were difficult to eat. It's one of my favorite dishes; I ate chilaquiles a lot growing up. Railcar's dish was very dry and the chips were too big. The flavor was good, but I couldn't eat much of it. The kids ordered Nutella French toast and it was a soggy mess. They are not picky but they took one bite, cringed, and made it clear that it was not good. My husband's a la carte items were the croissant and gravy, as well as the ricotta pancake. Those two were brought out on the same plate. The gravy was all over the pancake. The syrup from the pancake (which would have been better on the side) mixed in with the gravy. We went for the food and the experience, but were disappointed. We were there to have a good time but complaining would have only dampened the mood. The service was pleasant. Her generous tip was well deserved.

Tony Bott

The food was amazing and the service was the same.

A Crowd of One

We (5 people) had a great meal. Ribs were great. Bison meatloaf was a winner. My wife said the prime rib was cooked just right. My ribs were a little late coming out, so the manager made an adjustment. Thanks for a great meal and time with to the family.

Jacob Clancy

Food was absolutely amazing, server was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu items.

John Bauder

I had the chicken schnitzel and it was very good.

Dwight DeLaet

Great food. Especially the lobster hush puppies. It was one of our group's birthday, and they brought a special treat at no charge. Fantastic service and attention to detail.

Margie Davis

Great service good drinks good food

Jeffrey Hamilton

Good food but on the expensive side. Every item is a charge. The food was tasty, but not over the top good. We liked it, but at the same time don't expect to return.

Cathy Brehm

Great food and service♥️

Madina Gazieva

First time dining and had a terrible experience with the server. It seriously took us 20 minutes before our server came and took our order and 30 mins before we got it. I ordered a breakfast Benedict with smoked salmon, and salmon was old smelly fish and not smoked. When I told the server it wasn’t good he asked are you sure?! Didn’t even appologize it acted like there was anything wrong. Brought our bill without taking the Salmon off the bill and threw the bill on the table. This was my first and last visit for sure!

Matt Harriger

Went to Railcar for the first time on a very busy Saturday night, from what I could see every table was full. The food was very good. Service was OK, friendly but a little on the slow side, probably due to how busy they were. I would definitely go back again, but probably on a weeknight to avoid the crowds. They have a great (and inexpensive) kids menu with lots of options.

I LOVE everything about this place! The staff is friendly and accommodating, the restaurant itself is beautiful, and the food - of course - is completely delicious. Management accomodated my party of 7 very gracefully and we all enjoyed our experience (especially those of us that ordered the chicken and waffles - yum). I will absolutely be back!

The food is really unique and delicious. I especially loved the Apple pie and the ice cream. The service was bad, however. Our plates were never cleared, and we were never offered refills of our drinks or beers. Additionally, the bathrooms were atrocious. Despite the excellent food, I’m not sure I’ll be back.

Amazing brunch and rustic ambiance! The bloody Mary’s are DEVINE!! Actually everything on the menu is fantastic. Brian is amazing, always on point, never a bad moment.

Kelli Pavlish

Food was great. Unfortunately we had a reservation and didn't get seated until 30+ minutes later. Our waiter was great though and so was the food. We'll definitely try it again!

chad claborn

Great atmosphere. We didn't have a reservation. They got us right in.

Stayed in Omaha for the weekend and looked up local breakfast places so we didn't have to go to the usual Perkins or IHOP. This place was listed as the #4 place in Omaha on Yelp and it should definitely be #1! AMAZING food in an AMAZING atmosphere! Our server Rebecca was very attentive and gave a great recommendation (The Cubano)! Make the drive out to this place, you won't be disappointed! Tip: Make a reservation on their website. We went on a Sunday around noon. I made the reservation 10 minutes before we got there, and we were seated almost immediately; meanwhile, people behind us just walking in were told it was a 45-60 minute wait.

I LOVE The Railcar Restaurant. Their food is FABULOUS. Our waitress, Lisa, was perfect. Attentive, helpful, and cheerful. Run,don't walk,to the Railcar.

Great service and perfect atmosphere for a date night with your significant other.

Amazing food an service

Service was okay, our server was very aloof and not very friendly. Food portions were small for the price! The food itself was good, nothing to write home about though. Atmosphere was a mix between cozy, rustic, and modern. Sports playing on the TV. It was very quiet when we went. (7pm on a Friday evening)

I would love to give this place 5 stars, the food was great the menu looked great, but it took forever to get our food, we went for brunch, it took a half hour for me to get my cappuccino when everyone at our table had drinks, our food was closer to 45 minutes, we went for brunch, it was busy, I understand that and our waitress was new so those are all things that can't be helped, but it still seemed to take way too long. On the other hand the food was Soo good, chicken and waffles yummy!!! The fruit cup that came with it was great! And the cheese curds we're so good as well

This place is simply amazing! Food, atmosphere, service...I love it all!

Railcar is a great farm to table in the city with great eats. Their happy hour menu is definitely something to be happy about! My Fiance got the Boiler which is a burger and fries a shot and a beer. He loved it! I got the Salmon off the dinner menu and it was perfect!

The ambiance, food and greeter were wonderful! However, out server left something to be desired. We had to ask several times for our waters to be filled. I asked the ingredients in a drink. She matter of factly told me what was in it. The menu, that she finally brought, showed that she got 1 out of the 3 ingredients correct. She also was the person to make our drinks. My drink, that was to be topped off with champagne, was 3/4 champagne & the Moscow mules tasted flat. When we mentioned that their ginger beer may be a flat because the drinks tasted flat she proudly stated that they don't use ginger beer because they make their own syrup....which is special and why it tastes so much better. Again, the food and atmosphere are great but the waitress came across as a total flake. Did I mention that we were her only customers and there were only 5 of us??

Love the food! The service was excellent the food was all so good, and the prices on the menu are so wide ranging there is something for everyone!

Jen Marhenke

Very busy for brunch, I recommend waiting. Friendly staff, good food.

My boyfriend and I have been here multiple times and the food is always great. Unfortunately, the service is very hit or miss. This last time we were in the bar with only one other table and our server ignored us for most of our experience while she ate at a nearby computer system. It took 20+ minutes to receive our Caesar salad and soup. One minute after receiving our soup and salad, our entrees arrived. Was NOT impressed. If this was my first time there then I would not be back. Still doubtful I’ll return. Such a shame since the food is always amazing.

Went on a Saturday for brunch, menu was good but execution didn’t match. Service was good, attentive and personable. Still, probably won’t go back, but didn’t hate it.

Crystal Rundle

Food was plentiful. (I could barely finish my Cubano) atmosphere was nice but a little dark. I felt like there wasn't enough light. Our Server was wonderful.

megan wheeler

I've been here many times. They haven't let me down yet. The brunch is delicious too. Spot on French onion soup the last time I visited.

Pamela Swiney

The food was excellent! Our server Becca was outstanding.

matthew clifton

Great restaurant!! Good food and service. Would visit again!

Mark

Their brussel sprouts appetizer is awesome. Great service and the prices are responsible.

Greg Kraemer

Consistently one of my favorite spots in Omaha. Excellent beers and cocktails and a rotating/test menu with some staples that are always delicious. Try any of the short rib dishes and you won't be disappointed.

Exterior Options

Used to be a good place for unique food, now it just smells like piss, decor is all falling apart and food is ok.

kristie brannon

Love the atmosphere

Lindsay N

We loved this place! Great food, atmosphere and service, Heather was awesome!

Nichole Ann

You wouldn't be able to tell how cute this place is from the outside, a hidden gem for sure!

Only writing this because we used reviews to make our decision to eat here and apparently had a completely different experience than everyone else. Had a reservation but weren't seated for 15 minutes past our reservation time. There is no waiting area to speak of so we were in everyone in the restaurant's way. It then took another 2 hours to get through a starter and a main course. Took forever to get refills on our waters, took forever in between courses, lots of apologies for the wait times but it seemed like a normal Saturday night crowd? Not sure what the issue was. Charged incorrectly for an entree, then treated like we were being ridiculous for pointing it out "Hmm nobody has every mentioned that before." They ended up taking it off our check but that just made us really uncomfortable as we didn't want it free, we just wanted it for the price on the menu. The food was good but at the price point the experience was pretty bad. Will not be back anytime soon.

I've been here twice for parties. They offer a variety of apps and cocktails have a small restroom and small party area in the back. It's alright if have to go in on my own time and give it another try to order of the menu and get a better feel for it. I have a brother he and his wife love they place not sure hope I feel about it though. I really like the atmosphere though.

James Saitta

We've been here twice, both times the food was just OK... We feel like this place could be really good, but it's been just really, mediocre. The first time the service was RIDICULOUSLY slow and our food was cooked wrong, but they did make it right, however! The second time our server was very good, but the food coming out of the kitchen was brutally slow, again. We'd give this place a third try, but not before trying someplace else first.

Matt Seidholz

They don't have jelly / jam? What the hell? Great bloodies, though.

patrick Blair

Food was very tasty. Soup/bisque had good flavor, but wasn't hot enough. Place has upscale prices, but didn't come across as upscale

Curtis Hammett

OMG only thing better than their impicable food is their staff. I was treated like the owner and got everything and everything I asked for, and as picky as I wanted to be. I changed my mind on the drink and size I wanted and they we're happy to make any changes for me. Thank you Railcar

Jolyn Martin

Great food, fun atmosphere. Love the bottomless drinks. Servers were very personable.

Tom Redman

Doesn't look like much from the outside but much bigger on the inside. Food is really good and staff very friendly. Had the salmon Mac and cheese (best I ever had) and chicken snitzel. Desert an apple tart with ice cream. Overall great experience, would definitely go back.

Ami Partusch

Service was friendly and helpful. Great food!

Garret McGahan

Always have good food and service here
