This Restaurant is included in the category of Greek restaurant.
Love love love the Parthenon! Authentic Greek food and amazing desserts. It’s always difficult to choose what to have because everything is so good. Whatever you get, also order the Greek potato. Daily specials and special events like belly dancers or wine tastings also part of their appeal. They also have dog friendly days! (On the patio.) For special occasions or just because the day ends in ‘y’.
My wife & I love eating here. If you want authentic Greel favors from a Greek family this is the Greek place to go to in Lincoln. The meals, & deserts are difinately a nice change from the typical chicken or hamburger norms. By the way the service is great too, never helicoptering over your table, but pretending you don't exist either. Give them a try, you may be surprised!

Amazing food...amazing staff
Great food terrific staff
Absolutely love the food and service here. I have tried dishes here that I never knew existed and enjoyed them all. This restaurant is locally owned and unique, and is well worth the effort. I love the hummus with crushed red pepper in it!
Always great food and service.
Great service from server and chef, hostess not so much, didn't even get me a table. Great food, sometimes a bit salty. Best thing of Parthenon... desserts, their crème brûlèe was great, they didn't ask what kind of sugar did I want, but the waitress was very nice.
Always one of those special places for my wife and I. But also one of those places you can just drop in. Kinda like a good friend's or a favorite family member's home. Food is always great and scales from basic to can't find anywhere else in Lincoln. Prices are also friendly just like the staff and owner. Second generation restauranteur and always checking the customer. He seems to love what he does and it shows in his care, the food, and the staff. P.S. have to not only try the baklava but the ice cream creations are the one item you will find nowhere else. MUST HAVE!
Close knit staff with comforting dining room, the smells of authentic Greek food radiate throughout the building. Greatly enjoyed my lamb shank as it's only served on Friday and Saturday, large portions and great sides! Highly recommend!
I'm sad to say this is not the place I've known for years prior. We stopped for lunch last weekend and I really didn't recognize it. First, the table was dirty. Not just less-the-perfect, but literally crusty dried food. When we asked our server to wipe it down (she did apologize for the mess) she sprayed cleaner directly in my wife's place-setting area which of course splattered onto our flatware, napkins, etc. Not great. Second, the flatware was dirty. My fork had dried food on it, the rest of it was spotty/not well-rinsed. Believe me that I'm no germaphobe---this was unacceptable and unprofessional. Third, our food took an inordinately long time considering what we ordered---gyro and fries (they also brought regular fries even though I asked for Greek fries) and a salad. Fourth, the cucumbers and tomatoes in my wife's salad (and the salad in general) were far from fresh. More accurately, they appeared to have been slightly frozen at some point---sort of semi-opaque and mushy. Last, the place just feels tired and needs an update desperately. The wooden tables and chairs are from the '90s. The floor finish is worn out. I could go on. I wasn't sure if this experience was the new normal or an unfortunate anomoly. I'm always giving the benefit of the doubt. But then I mentioned it to a coworker...actually, all I got out was "So we went to Parthenon..." and he immediately said "Man that place has gone downhill!". Enough said. I hope they can pull it out of the fire, but it may be too far gone.
Although it opens at 11:00 on Sunday, it is the best breakfast spot in town. Try the Opa Breakfast.....OPA!!!!
Good food but no real baked potatoes, friendly service
Was with a large party. Wait staff was excellent. Food was delish as always.

Not only do we love coming here for date night (great food, drink selection, and a dessert case!), we chose to have Parthenon cater our wedding reception. ZERO REGRETS. Not only was the food wonderful, our guests were amazed at the portion sizes, as many people often leave hungry from wedding buffets. The servers were so helpful to my guests, and they even provided us with creme brûlée at special request for just the bride and groom. I can’t say enough good things about Parthenon’s food, staff, and service. If you are looking into catering an event, don’t hesitate to reach out to them. They work to make sure you get exactly what you want, and are so incredibly humble about what they do. THANK YOU PARTHENON!!!
The Parthenon is easily the best Greek restaurant in Lincoln. The menu ranges from Gyros to Lamb and Seafood. Daily menu additions keep your visits fresh. And the Parthenon has 2 huge dessert cases plus ever-changing ice cream flavors (try a sampler flight of 3). The staff is top-notch and works as a team to see that all of your needs are taken care of in a timely manner. Ask for Jane and she will make you feel like you are her only table. Go! and enjoy yourself.
Great food and atmosphere friendly staff
Always been amazing. Now there's break fast on Sundays and I had the Greek skillet. No surprises: it was delicious!
I went to this restaurant with a large group and thought the service was very good. I ordered a nice steak which ended up being the reason for the lower rating. The presentation was terrible. I had grains of rice on my plate (without ordering rice) and the green onions topped on the steak looked sad. Taste was ok as is this restaurant overall.
We love this place. Moderate price, but portions are large! I haven't tried anything I don't like. Be sure to get the Baklava for dessert! :)
Took around 30-45 mins to get our food, food was good, but highly priced for the amount.
So much fun at the Summer Picnic Wine Dinner
Fabulously prime rib. Always perfect. Wonderful staff
Delicious food
A real sweet Greek treat; would repeat
The food was outstanding! I had the halibut, my husband had the mousaka and my son the lamb souvlaki. All prepared to perfection! We sat on the patio watching the sunset, sipping on a reasonably priced bottle of wine, and the wait staff was very attentive. Great date night or family place!
My family and myself love this restaurant. We try to make it to Lincoln as much as we are able to eat here (very few times in the last couple of years). Driving through Lincoln this Saturday we had a rare treat of stopping in. I find it rare in restaurants to get better with age, but the food was better than I remembered. The staff was great! We were sat immediately, as their neon sign stated. Server was at our table quickly to get a drink order. Food was beyond fast but we were not rushed between appetizer and dinner. We were so full we just had to take some dessert home with us. If you ever looking for a Greek restaurant to dine at, this is your place. I have found nothing like it in Omaha or surrounding areas. I just wish I lived closer.

Nice environment. Decent food. Service could be improved.
Love the food. Great service. The chef is awesome!
Was interesting variety of med style foods, all were overdone for me though. Was eating later at night so could have been that. Never saw v waitress much, host did all the work. Service was fine nonetheless. Veggies side was corn bean mix that was slightly sweet but good. Portions were decent sized. Left full. Not visible fromc roads so you won't just drop in plenty free parking
Best Greek food in Lincoln. Wonderful host.
Good food. Friendly staff.
We love the Parthenon and have made it a tradition for holiday meals. George and his staff have always stepped up with their service and their food. The greek salad for starters is very large and filling. Delicious way to start a meal and can easily be shared. I think their gyro platters are also large and very good. We've had their prime rib (love the mushrooms they use) and it's been wonderful too. The ham steak at Easter hits the spot every time. I think we've tried almost all of their deserts! Love the baklava ice cream. It can get a bit loud, but that's ok with us. Staff is always very professional and friendly. A definite favorite of ours in Lincoln.
Authentic Greek food. Very good and prices are reasonable for what you receive. Nice atmosphere not too fancy.
Food is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. The seating is a little uncomfortable, but the food makes up for it. If you like gyros go here!

Most authentic and largest menu of Lincoln's Greek restaurants. It can also be an Opa! fun place. Plus, interestingly, it has Irish performances on St Patrick's.
The only place that gets calamari right! Overall good food and service.
Gyros, baklava ... Everything Greek to eat, this family-owned restaurant is THE PLACE to go. Excellent service, great food, pleasant atmosphere. Come for the food, stay for the fellowship.
Good casual sit down Greek restaurant. Give the zucchini fries a try, they're amazing
Always great, fast seating and great dessert!
Food was over cooked, dry, and bland and the server seemed irritated as soon as she came to our table the first time. The pastries are good and that's about it. I don't recommend spending a good amount of money here if you're looking for quality food.
I've been eating here for years. It's great food, helpful staff, and friendly owners! I love the chicken breast spaniki, gyro, and on Sundays the omelets and banana pancakes are amazing!
It was very good food! Really great waiter's, payed attention to are want's and needs. Very professional and plight. I'd definitely recommend it an plan to return
Love this place! The garlic feta is amazing
I sat for several minutes without being served. As I watched the waitress chat with the more expensively dressed ladies at the next table over, ignoring me, I decided to leave. I said, "Thank you," to the man who had seated me, wondering if he would ask what was wrong. He was silent. Looking over my shoulder as I exited, I saw him applying lip balm as he slouched through the center of the dining area. Very glad I did not eat!
Server was thoughtful in her suggestions. We had hummus platter, greek salad, avlogemono soup and chicken with spinach & mushrooms. All were great choices. We took home baklava for later. First night in Lincoln & it will be hard to beat going forward.
Family friends, always a blessing to eat here
The gyro platter was really good. I just wish they gave you a regular size pita bread instead of 3 little triangles. The service was really good. I think our server was a little shy. Very nice.
Not our first time there. My daughter and I chose this place 2 hrs before she went in to be induced so a favorite. We love the "fire" cheese which they bring to the table to flambeau in brandy. Oopah! She had the gyro platter. Lovely. I had the Mediterranean summer salad with grilled herb trout. Well worth repeating.
The entree that I ordered ended up not being my taste. They brought me something different and didn't charge me for the first dish. The portion sizes are very generous and the food is delicious. Can't wait to go back again!
Everything I've had has been amazing. The portion sizes are pretty good size too
First of all, this is a great date night restaurant. It’s where we go when we want something that’s not a traditional burger or chicken. The prices are fair, too! I’ve never had something I didn’t like, honestly. Gyro is constantly good. Greek fries are spectacular. So many good appetisers to choose from and a great drink selection! The service is always excellent, but when you have Jane, it’s the best. She constantly impresses me with her kindness and helpfulness and all-around encouraging demeanour. Every time we’re sat in her section I am immediately happier. This is one of my go-tos in Lincoln!
Fantastic catfish sandwich and a Greek salad.
Nice place to eat!! Waitress take a good care of customers
Friday, August 23, 11:45am, a friend and I sat on the patio to dine since it was such a beautiful day. The Maitre d' greated and promptly sat us. The server quickly came and brought our water and servicewear. The waitress then came and took our order, and then, ten or so minutes later, the server brought our food. So far, so good. But, instead of topping my salad with the grilled chicken that I ordered, it was topped it with Gyro. I asked the server, who brought the food, if that was the grilled chicken that I ordered, and she said "no, it's Gyro", and I said that I had ordered the chicken (since she had not taken my order, waitress did), of which she very politely said, "oh, I can get you chicken, do you want me to switch it out to chicken?". I said "no, that's okay, this will be fine". In about five minutes, the waitress came out and said "What's the Problem!!?". Not really what I was expecting for; 1), I told the server it was fine, 2), the plate was $14.00. I said; "the 'problem' is that 'you' got my order wrong". She said; "no I didn't, you ordered the Gyro". I said; "no, I ordered the chicken". She then offered to get me the chicken, and I said "it's fine". I asked my friend "I thought I ordered the chicken, did I?". He said, "yes, you ordered the chicken". Can you imagine? RUDE! Who says that? And, it’s not like they were busy, there was just one other table of two on the patio, and it was 11:45 am. The food was okay, a little pricey for lunch, but the attitude..., WOW! I have to say, the aggressive waitress asking very rudely "What's the Problem!!?", ruined the meal. :( Not going back anytime soon.
Great food and great service! Our waitress Tonia was very helpful in explaining the menu as we were new to trying the Greek food.
The salmon salad was wonderful and the chocolate carrot cake was to die for. All very delicious.
Amazing appetizers and great presentation on them. Huge selection of desserts and good entrees as well.
They catered our event and the service was far superior to any other place we have used. The food was amazing!
The food was expensive and not very good
Over the years we have visited so many times and every time it is 100 amazing. I’ve never had a dish that isn’t tasty - seriously ALL OF THEM. Specials, usual dishes, desserts -are all fire. Ok the hummus is the BEST! My wife loves wine and says they serve some of the best. Also we hosted family that visited from Sonoma, CA. Even they were impressed with the wine! Thankful for this place and the service they provide!
Yummy yummy yummy! This is one of my favorite restaurants!! It is never bad! Food is always delicious!! Service is always so wonderful! It is a very comfortable atmosphere and reasonably priced!! Also best deserts in town!! Yummy!
Amazing orange roughy. Always fresh and unique presentation
We have dined at Parthenon many times and have eaten everything on the menu plus specials. The food has always been exceptional.
The atmosphere, service and food was delicious. Thank You for a great experience.
This place has fantastic Greek cuisine and the best desserts in the entire world.
Great staff and the food is awesome !
Food is incredible. Portions are quite large, always a variety of sides to choose from.
Fabulous food with a very nice wine selection, the service was great and the location with the outdoor patio is perfect.
Great food, great service.
Fresh ingredients and attentive friendly staff. Feta cheese is exceptional
It was just ok. I got the gyro plate with a side of fries and the tomato orzo salad. The fries were soggy, almost like how they are when you microwave them. The orzo seemed overcooked. When I opened the glass bottle of ketchup it overflowed and popped as soon as I opened it, im assuming because the middle of the bottle looked frozen. Overall, not worth the price, but the service was good.
The gyro's were wonderful, the desserts were awesome, and the staff was very courteous!!!!! We loved it!!!!
The atmosphere is wonderfully Greek and comfortable. Of all the great food, it's the Greek Salad that I keep coming back for; Excellent! The Tzatziki is creamy goodness on pita or the Gyro. And all the deserts are homemade and worth the drive. A "must go to" for Greek Food and atmosphere! Not too long waiting for the food & good taste! Not spicy just perfect! Not waiting line! Good waiter & good service!
Yummy yummy yummy! This is one of my favorite restaurants!! It is never bad! Food is always delicious!! Service is always so wonderful! It is a very comfortable atmosphere and reasonably priced!! Also best deserts in town!! Yummy!
It was Phat Tuesday ! A friend an I went. The first time I've been . I really had no idea what to expect. It was busy they had a band. Thhe music was great. We were stuck in a corner not a fan of where we werw Sat. Our waiter was slow but polite off somewhere !!! He wasn't the best. We had to wait for items requested a few times because he kept forgetting. However the food was really good.
Great food and atmosphere.
Service was really good. The food was just ok, good family restaurant but no distinctive vibe.
Ate outside on the patio. Geeat cod & omelet! Excellent service. All as usual.
George is a brilliant and talented Chef. We enjoyed the Saganaki, dolmathes, lamb and pastitio. Opa! Ricardo
Excellent food and service!!
First time there and it was a night to remember! Food very good - I suggest the lamb leg, but be ready too take home. They feed you well !!! Dessert case makes you sweat in anticipation.
Excellent full-service Greek Restaurant. Family owned and operated. Highly competent staff and a large dining space, including outdoor seating, a small bar, and a private dining room. Menu is extensive, and includes both standard selections and daily options. And before selecting a desert be sure to view the 2 cold cases with at least 20 options to see. After 3 visits, I have nothing but praise for the Parthenon.
Love this family! The son of the owner of the old papa johns runs this place, and while keeping some awesome family favorites, he's added some wonderful new dishes to the menu. If you have a sweet tooth, try out some of the wonderful dessert options, we will usually get an ice cream to share along with an assortment of bakery goodies.
Greek background, however they will satisfy any taste. Excellent, and save room for dessert. OMG. From Mrs Ks own recipes. Just tried the baklava ice cream. Excellent. Excellent service and fine assortment of alcohols.
Not only was the waitress absolutely a pleasure to talk with, she got all of our (AMAZING) food correct. They have a plethora of vegetarian options, and the Greek veggie lasagna thing I had was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Sooo good. Would 100% recommend.
Great food and excellent service.
The best meal that I've had out in a long time. Terrific atmosphere, wonderful service, and the food was out of this world. Looking forward to coming back!!
If I could give zero Stars I totally would. never order the braised lamb shank it comes dry and under seasoned from what I would expect from an authentic Greek recipe as it was so touted. As a cook myself I assumed braised would imply a sense of moist meat figuring that braised is classified as a moist cooking method. My braised lamb shank came out rather overdone and under seasoned. very disappointing all together. The best part was the service was the servers; I found them r I'mather knowledgeable and if they didn't know they would be more than happy to ask. on the bright side after sitting in my fridge for 3 days stewing its own fat it has finally become moist enough to actually eat. Definitely not worth reviews it gets. Here's hoping I can steer someone into the restaurant right next to them. The Mexican one; should be more then better than the slop that was touted a family recipe. I assume the braised lamb shank was cooked ahead of time and then reheated in the microwave or some other type of quick heating device; utterly sapping any remaining moisture from the over done peice of meat.
Great food and even better service!
WOW, flavorful food with a great atmosphere. I'd drive out of my way from Omaha to come again.
Good Greek food.a little slow getting food out.
Food at the Parthenon is always great. Our family have been visiting for years. George, cook & partial owner, comes out frequently to check with customers & make sure everyone is satisfied. Our families favorite is the Papa's omelet that we order on Sunday mornings, but their gyros & fish is good.
Their desserts are the star of the show. Of course, the gyros, pizza, and wraps are good. The atmosphere is great. But the dessert... oh my. Absolutely amazing. They have probably about 50 different desserts to choose from. Lots of cheesecake. I'll be back just for dessert.
My wife and I love Parthenon. They have wonderful Greek and Mediteranean dishes. I have never had anything there that I wouldn't recommend to a friend.
I love the saganaki and the feta spreads. The service here is great. I like to jam on a Greek Salad for lunch or grab Spanakopita for dinner. The gyro with fries is delicious and a safe-bet if you're not feeling adventurous. The dessert case is a hidden gem and deserves it's own 5-star rating
Helpful staff and good food. Been back several times and not dissapointed...They have a prime rib special on Thursdays. Yum! Sooooo Many dessert choices!
Best Greek food in town!
This is my best friend's favorite restaurant. The service is usually unbeatable. The atmosphere is cheerful, happy, and classy all at once. They have gorgeous desserts you can buy by the box and wonderful meals if you like Middle-Eastern food. They have flaming cheese appetizers and they could do an enviable Greek wedding, I'm sure!
The server was friendly, knowledgeable, and did great. Food was pretty good. We both tried new things, not sure moussaka (sp) is my thing. But I ate it all. Finish on the tables is breaking down, looked dirty but probably wasn't. But the table tents, drink specials cards were sticky. Bathroom floor was slippery/ greasy.
Great food and very friendly staff. I love their vegetarian options (the eggplant dishes and falafel are yummy!!) and they also have consistently good pastries like the baklava. It’s always a good experience to stop by the Parthenon.
Po boy sandwiches are AMAZING!! AWESOME staff and the cook is on point!! Hands down my favorite restaurant in town!!!
Awesome food great ambience
Outstanding food and service
Selected the Parthenon to celebrate 53rd Anniversary knowing the food is enjoying every day. Husband had several cheeses inside phylo with corn salad. My pork souvlaki on klitharaki (orzo) with fall squash and other veggies. Pita with tzatzki always hits the spot. Savored the flavors. Waitress helped select wine, checked on us frequently, was right there for our order of baklava, and then the check but was not in a hurry to grab payment. Have eaten here before; always had really good service and food just right on the tongue. As we ate, we wondered what all the dishes being served to other tables were as they looked scrumptious too. Did not expect belly dancers on a Tuesday but have enjoyed them before.
Stopped for lunch on our road trip and feel like we stumbled upon a gem. Fantastically authentic Greek flavors and more selection than your basic Greek offerings. The special lunch menu was perfectly portioned and the selection of fresh vegetable sides was inspired. We also tried a wine flight of Greek wines and love that they offer that! My only disappointment is that this restaurant is 3+ hours from my home.
Their iced tea and the salad dressing were the highlights of our meal.
Very delicious cakes and a good Cervicio I recommend it
The food is authentic and delightfully prepared and served. Love this place. There is something here for everyone.
Food is very good. We got 3 desserts to go. One of them tasted rancid like it was cooked with old grease.
Opa! Great food, nice atmosphere and absolutely amazing desert options.
Wonderful place! I try to eat something different there each time I go and I have never been disappointed.
Great service and home cooked foods
Ultimately the best pork Souvlaki I've had in years!! And I have lived in numerous States. I believe I have a new favorite Greek restaurant. A very happy girl here.
Food is quite good overall, ordered pikila for an appetizer which comes with pita and three choices of dips. Portions were off in my opinion as one dip gets a large bowl while the other two were large spoon sized served on the side. Their version of "plenty of pita" and my version are very different in the appetizer. Certain drinks even have a one free refill limit. My overall impression is that the food is good, service is good, but just the "nickel and dime" feeling for extra cost on refills, the small portions of pita is a real bummer.
Always good home cooked food and more than enough. Not just your standard bland fare as so many restaurants. Though not a Greek specialty, their French fries are excellent! No matter when, they can always find table for you.
I've been to many parties where the Parthenon has catered. I have not been in the location, but the food has never failed to impress. The catering staff is always so friendly and professional during the parties.
One of the best Greek restaurants I've eaten at......and it's in Lincoln Nebraska!! Try the Greek salad and tiropitas (not sure if that's spelled correctly) for sure!! Loved it!
This place holds a lot of great memories for me. This was a fave when dating my now-wife. Great food and service. Best Greek around!
The atmosphere is wonderfully Greek and comfortable. Of all the great food, it's the Greek Salad that I keep coming back for; Excellent! The Tzatziki is creamy goodness on pita or the Gyro. Although the food was good, the service was terrible. We went there on a very slow night. However, it took quite some time before our order was taken and an outlandish amount of time before our food was ready. We eat out a good amount of time so we are accustomed to what is a normal wait, this was very far from that. The waitress seemed to not really be interested in us.
Excellent and authentic Greek food! Atmosphere is good too.
Great food! The atmosphere is okay nothing too special, and has a Greek vibe to it. Back to the food, it has so much flavor and is very well done. The service is good too, very friendly staff.
Best Greek restaurant in eastern Nebraska and independently owned. Catering is another great feature!
Greek potatoes were delicious! I would highly recommend them!
So I wasn’t sure I was going to like this place going in, but man was I wrong!! The waiter was amazing. The Hummus & warm pita bread was to die for!!! & the Giro was so delicious. If you want something a little different this is a great place to try.
Great food, very attentive service for our group of friends who gathered here.
Food, atmosphere and service were all very good! Recommend!
Great food, diverse daily specials. Never been disappointed here.
Food was awesome staff very friendly atmosphere was excellent can't wait to go back
Wonderful restaurant. Great variety of choices at reasonable prices. The staff are extraordinary.
They have great Gyros and always friendly...
We had a celebration there today with coffee, drinks, and amazing desserts. It was perfect, the service was GREAT, and everyone loved it!
Great food! Great place to eat & socialize with friends!
Very cool, laid back restaurant. I had the calamari and then the moussaka. Both were wonderful. The waiter was knowledgable and attentive; he made some good recommendations. My friend had the lamb chops and said they were well seasoned and cooked correctly.
Literally the BEST GREEK FOOD in the whole Midwest, and comparebale to what I’ve had in California. I wish they would open one south of Nebraska somewhere. Every time I go, I get to go containers of my favorite dishes from here. So good.
The service was great, but the food isn't spectacular. You can tell most of it is frozen and reheated to order, like the mousaka, or even store bought frozen food like spanakopita. The dead giveaway is the veggies are watery and mushy, and there isn't much flavor to anything.
Great wait staff, smooth drinks and fabulous desserts.
George puts together a fantastic menu with fresh-from-the-garden ingredients and his wait staff are super attentive!
Great food and very friendly staff. I love their vegetarian options (the eggplant dishes and falafel are yummy!!) and they also have consistently good pastries like the baklava. It’s always a good experience to stop by the Parthenon.
The best Greek cuisine I have ever had, and the staff treats you like family. I'm not even kidding, it's wonderful!
Fantastic food and people
