Food was very good but service is definitely on the slower side. Our server had to do everything and no one was really helping him. But he was still attentive. Wish they would help alittle more.

WOW...What a hidden gem.... We have had Korean food all over the world and we are so lucky we found this yummy place in our back yard. It’s a very relaxing place with soothing music & authentic food. Very clean and the service was very friendly and helpful. If you want to step out of your comfort zone this is a very interesting place to start.

I'd just like to note the exceptionally poor service. I lived in Korea for 4 years in the service. Food is not this expensive. And drinks are exorbitantly priced. One kirin should be much less. It took maybe 40 minutes before someone took my order. Manager is stupid and thinks he can overcharge for everything. Good way to go out of business buddy! Servers should be able to speak English or communicate better. I should report this restaurant.

I asked the waiter if he could make an item with chicken instead of pork, he said he will need to ask hos shef! Later instead of confirming with me he brought the item even though we decided to eat something else! When i told him that I actually didn't order it, he didn't say anything and left the item also charged us for it! On top of that the restaurant was super expensive compared to the serving size of food!! I was very disappointed

I ordered the sashimi lunch bento for carry out. Cost was 16.50, which I was taken aback by since their menu prices aren't on their website. I doubled checked to make sure I was receiving the correct order with the hostess. I was told it does not include the miso soup when you order it to-go after i had ordered it and drove there. Inside the togo box were 8 pieces of sashimi, cut very small and low quality. The salmon even looked lightly cooked all around the edges, as if it were set out in the air or under a small heat lamp. The salad was 2 small chunks of iceberg lettuce and 4-5 leafs of spinach, with a light light light drizzle of a sesame dressing. The rice was overcooked and tasteless. The tempura was bland as well. Very very disappointing for the price you pay. Will not be eating here again.

Service was alright. Everything but the sushi took longer than I felt was normal. I found a bone in my unagi. The crab Rangoon was weird and tasted like it had horseradish or wasabi in it or something. When I ordered the beef udon, I ordered it not spicy. It wasn't like..crazy spicy, but still had more of a kick than I expected, so I wasn't super into it. Also, the veggies were kind of half cooked. Honestly kind of disappointed overall, probably not coming here again.

I like the place, nice clean and the staff is friendly. Had the Veggie tempura and jalepeno tempura for apps. Didn't care for the jalapeno, cream cheese and salmon flavor profile in an egg roll - just didnt work for me. Had the spicy tuna and spicy tuna rolls for main meal and would order again.

We went for the standard bulgogi KBBQ here and it was great, there was plenty of banchan and the server was attentive. It's tough competition to have Maru so close, but they hold their own. I really enjoyed my meal here and will be returning.

Don't be turned away by the unconventional combo of sushi and Korean, nor the strip mall location. Step into the surprisingly large space with contemporary styling. Enjoy the fresh sushi and fantastic Korean dishes, as well as a full bar. The BBB and Barley tea is my fav.

The edamame wasn't salted at all on the lower 3/4 of the bowl. The jalapeno tempura wasn't spicy at all. The salmon roll was 3/4 cucumber. The Emma roll tasted like mush with none of the eel, crab, nor scallion tasting like much of anything.

First time I went, the food I ordered online wasn’t done by the time I went in to pick it up. When I got there I was standing talking to the host explaining the situation and someone came out through the kitchen door. It smelled like a cloud of strong cigarette smoke. Not something I want associated with my food. Maybe if they weren’t back there smoking, my food would have been done. This last time I went (Sunday) I went to the bathroom before eating and smelled a very string odor of ammonia or cat pee or something very strong and offensive. July 2019 update: please don’t use military time on your website. I’m not in the military.

A generally good Korean restaurant for Omaha. While, the bulgogi was good, and the kimchi wasn't bad, it wasn't great. The sushi roll we had also wasn't the best, and was almost drowning on their spicy mayo. But what turned me off the most was that when 3 tables of customers increased to 5, their service became turned to a standstill. All in all, it wasn't bad but not great either.

Also as we are from out of state and where looking for a place to eat breakfast the next day, the young man working there told of us his favorite place to eat breakfast. Which we thought was very helpful. My wife really liked the flavors of the beef and the Dr. O roll was awesome to have.

We love this place. It's just a bit out of our price range to go too often. They also don't offer free refills on rice or lettuce or side dishes, as we found out the last time we had samgyeopsal, we were charged for a couple extra pieces of lettuce and some more rice, which they were kind of stingy with at the start. Other than little nitpicky things, the food here is always delicious. If you love spicy, get the yukgaejang. I'm pretty good with spice, but the yukgaejang here almost had me in tears! I've never had sushi here, seeing as we come here to get our Korean food fix when I'm too lazy to cook it at home, but I'll make it a point to try next time. The staff is always very helpful and nice. There's one waitress in particular, Taylor, who is so nice every time we go. She recognizes us and she'll sit down and chat for a bit. Really clean and nice place. Definitely a go to for special occasions.

Maru is a new favorite for Korean barbecue and other Asian delights. My daughter and I have been here twice now and we've never been disappointed; the wait staff is always incredibly attentive and friendly, and the food is authentic and delicious. Try Korean favorites like bibimbap and tteokbokki, and don't miss the avocado boat!

Delicious sushi! For a Friday night, service was very slow, I only saw 4 employees total working. Our server was friendly and doing her best, but it was a long meal. I ordered a martini, tasted delicious, but was put in a beer glass with ice... Will go back for the awesome sushi, hoping the service and drinks mis-cues are improved.

We have been here three times in the last year. We first found Maru when looking for a restaurant to take our Korean exchange student to because she missed Korean food. She loved it, we loved it, and we will continue to return. My husband loves sushi (and loves the sushi offered here) but I am not a fan. Thankfully Maru has many other wonderful dishes that please my palate. My favorite is the Beef Bulgogi Bibimbab - just a touch spicy and oh so delicious! The service is fantastic and the atmosphere is nice but not pretentious.

Went on Sunday when they have all day happy hour. Pricing was good for the happy hour with discounts ranging from $1.50 to $4.00 (Less if its the nigiri). The calamari and dumplings were a win for me. The Korean pancake was well received. I liked the Korean side dishes a lot. I felt the rolls were ok. I didn't realize most of what we were ordering was deep fried though and I'm not the biggest fan of that. For happy hour price I'd give this a 4/5. Parking is easy with a large lot.

Food here is really good. Solid Korean classics and fresh sushi. Give yourself time as the service is typically slow. Bento lunch is a great deal. You can choose from many items and the rolls included are full 8-piece rolls (other places only include 6 for their bentos)

Really disappointed... this place used to be great but I think it has changed hands. My wife ordered chicken fried rice, which seems like a hard thing to screw up. It was *full* of black pepper, and that’s all it tasted like. It looked like the lid had fallen off the cook’s pepper shaker. We never send back meals, but we tried to tonight. The waitress just brought it back to our table and mumbled something. We thought she said they were making it again, but after a while we asked and they were not. I asked to talk to the manager. He tried to tell me this was a traditional Korean recipe. 뻔하다. I asked him in Korean language if he was Korean and he was just confused. I told him we lived in Korea for a year and never had anything like this. He refused to take it off the bill. By the way, $13 is a little ambitious for chicken fried rice, but oh well. My bibimbap was very good as usual, but their service is bad and the management is incompetent and cheap. I don’t think Korean people own this restaurant because Koreans take a lot of pride in their service.

My daughter and i love this restaurant. The sushi is very good. I lived on the west coast for a long time. Sushi has always been a staple in my diet. Nebraska has a couple good sushi places, but maru reminds me more of what I'm accustomed to. Very traditional, understated, underrated, and expertly crafted sushi. Without being a pretentious joke.

They seemed like they don't like Korean customers. We three people went to restaurant to eat Korean food while doing road trip from NY to Las Vegas. We happenly decided to go Korean restaurant because it was really bad storm snow for a while. There was one Korean server who speak Korean language who didn't even say "Hello". We were passing by her and we want to refill Kimchi and some side dish. We waved her to get her attention while she was on her cellar phone to get refill of some side dish. She pretended not to see us. I work same industry but I never ever ignore customer. She at least say " An nyung hee ga se yo" when we all left the restaurant. Onwer need to train how to say "Hello" to customer especially people who speak same language. the food was good and left good tip Even though the Korean server totally ignore us. I hope everything is better when we go back the restaurant.

I am not sure if the restaurant changed cook or ownership. Loved going there before so went there last night for my friends birthday. My food tasted like I ordered desert. It was so sweet barely any chicken except lots of half cooked potatoes and veggies. This is the dish I used to order and it was always my favorite. So i wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It was so sweet as if the cook poured sugar thinking it was salt. 1 star is actually too high for them.

Three stars because of a well priced nice tasting lunch special but we added two rolls that were poor quality. The Lion King comes out flaming, cool presentation but it makes lukewarm sushi, you're better off lighting a $20 bill on fire.

I was deeply disappointed with my experience here. The service was terrible. They made many mistakes with our food and we didn't receive our food until and hour and ten minutes after we ordered. I understand making mistakes, but they did nothing to correct this and therefore have lost our service. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Went there with a friend and demolished two orders of bulgogi with two more sushi rolls. The place is a bit pricey but it was worth it. They close to switch between lunch and dinner, and we showed up 30mins before they switched so no one was there and we had our food out quick.

Some of the best Korean food i've had in the US---is in Omaha. The bulogi bibimbop and the yukgaejang are simply amazing. I imagine the other bibimbop variations are equally good. The sushi offerings are adequate but nothing to go on about; not really a high point. I'd stick to the Korean dishes.

The pork Bulgogi is not even close to authentic. Dry, overly caramelized and with a burned flavor. Rice and three side dishes isn't the generous Korean meal that I've enjoyed for forty years. Korean King in Omaha is not as charming but the real deal.
