This Restaurant is included in the category of Italian restaurant.
Love it. We both enjoyed the wonderful food and of course the owner and the whole family. Got to meet the mother. She is so sweet and caring. We will try and make it there again and we are passing the good word to everyone. Thank you. .
We had our prenuptial here 27 years ago and we continue to visit it yearly. The food is still amazing!! This is a family owned business. Very polite and they always make you feel welcomed.
Very good Italian food. Kind of out of the way and back in a quiet neighborhood, but worth the travel. We had the fettuccine and lasagna, both of them were very good. The meat sauce in the lasagna was a little sweet, but had a ton of meaty flavor.
Bad non tasting of chicken Alfredo in my life and too warm inside for a hot summer evening
This is an absolute Gem. I love the food and the atmosphere. Prices are reasonable the homemade spaghetti is delicious. Tiramisu is amazing, but next time I'm in I'm definitely going to try the lemon raspberry cheesecake. I'm so glad my mom gave me a gift card for this place or I never would have found it. Beat Italian in Omaha.
Very good food and atmosphere!
Excellent food. Relaxing atmosphere. Quality service
Always great. Been going there for 30 years. Love it.
Food was ok. It wasn't bad, but it could use more flavor. Maybe more seasoning. I had the manicotti and the texture was great! Just didn't have much flavor. The staff is very hospitable and attentive. My glass was never empty more than a few seconds. That quality of staff is rare, so great job with the work ethic!
Excellent food. Good service. Reasonable prices
Always wonderful.......I get the French Fried Cheese Ravioli and it's sooooooo yummy!
What a perfect place for date night or any kind of night.
My wife and I feel very mixed about this restaurant. The sauce is too sweet and lacked oregano and basil, and salt. The meatball was good, but it was obviously pre-prepared in a factory. The noodles were perfectly prepared, but the sauce was hard to get past. The baby green beans were great but had bizarre smokey flavor. After the first bite I immediately regretted not going to fazolis.
Went with my father, the food was good with great portions. Menu was a little misleading on what you were ordering. Only restauraunt I know of that includes a speciality drink in their soda selections. Definitely on the more expensive side but well worth it.
The mozzarella sticks and the lasagna are the bomb! They make their own marinara sauce and it's amazing!
This place has the best lasagna I have ever had!!! The meatballs melt in your mouth and the service is top notch!!! Highly recommend this place to everyone. Kid friendly also.
This is the place you come to carb load. The portions are generous, and the flavor is there. I love their fried ravioli and their bread! Also, I love their entrees, but I don't know how to spell or describe them correctly, so I'll tell you that the food is good.
Great service. Very clean. Lots of options!
The best in omaha
Okay food but for an authentic Italian restaurant, the food has little flavor and the waitress was rude
Exceptional service, delicious food
What a great place food and service out standing
Awesome still great prices
Holy cow do you get a ton of food! Cozy atmosphere; friendly staff; reasonable prices - both for the quality and the portions. I tried the chicken alfredo. Dinner comes with fresh baked bread and the alfredo sauce was very thick and creamy. One of the best I've had. Will definitely be back on future visits to Omaha.
Awesome place and excellent customer service. This place never disappointed me.Food was always hot and fresh and delicious too. One of my favourite place.!!
This place is unique being situated right in the middle of an old neighborhood! The food was good, but not great. The prices seemed a little high for the meals we ordered, although not unreasonable. They do have some unusual dishes that sound good. We did try the French Fried Ravioli & it was good too. I'm not sure that I'll return, when there are so many other great Italian places to eat.
The service was unacceptably slow and the food was overpriced. No one bothered to ask about our experience. Only one server for too large of a section.
Real Italian... think homemade.
It has such reasonable prices for such great traditional Italian dishes!
Extremely hot my husband had to leave to get air. Alfredo and lasagna was underseasoned and tough. My meal was ok but wait staff was unprepared or untrained to handle a party professionally. Best comment heard "Olive garden has better food"
I was pretty disappointed, I got the lasagna since I had been craving for awhile but it lacked flavor. It almost tasted a bit sweet. Customer service was great though.
Awesome quiet place, good food.
Malara's is easily my favorite Italian Restaurant in Omaha. It's very far from where I live but it's worth the drive to go to Malaras Omaha's Little Italy area. My advice is to order the spaghetti and meatballs. They make fresh spaghetti pasta right in the restaurant the other noodles are good also but they're not made fresh there. The meatballs are simply amazing. They're homemade meaty and delicious. I'm going to post photos later. If you like my review please click that thumbs-up button. Thank you
Great Italian food and I love the old school atmosphere. The fried egg plant and home made cheese cake were especially delicious. Their spaghetti sauce was out of this world good!
yummy food great raviolis a+ service
The pasta was really good. I did not eat the salad, looked ..not so good.
It was good and good service. We stayed a white visiting family and no one said anything they just waited for us to leave
Unimpressed. Group of seven. Three orders were wrong, and the chicken in the chicken parm was stringy. Fried ravioli was good but nothing special. Wait staff was not very friendly and no apology offered for the mistakes. They did bring more fresh bread to compensate. Overall it's maybe worth a visit. Maybe we caught them on a bad day.
Great service and awesome food. A must try if you like Italian food.
The employees are just great! And so is the food
It was a very enjoyable evening! Wonderful food and the waitresses took fabulous care to make sure we had everything we needed!
Love this place from start to finish.
Very good place. First time there and will be back very soon
A very familiar place and reliable for quality and portions. The tortellini is great, and if I had one suggestion it would be to offer it like they did a few years ago...instead of red or white gravy, allow for both, it is very good, would compliment the already great menu and most importantly it would give the customers what they want without adding a penny to the cost. Otherwise this is as good as it gets for Italian food in Omaha
Homemade pasta is amazing, priced fair and the service is great.
Have always loved the food, and service is always great! Can't talk up the homemade tortellini enough.
Best Italian food in town for years! Really good service. Parking limited
Step back into time by walking into Malara's. The decor is beautiful & romantic. Great food & family run. The menu asks you to allow 30 minutes for preparation of your food, it's worth it! The owner still cooks & she came out to say hi to our party. We were there for a bday party so they seated us all at two large tables in a section just off the dining room. I tried the hubs lasagna & it melted in my mouth. I know what I'm ordering the next time we go to Malara's.
When it comes to authentic Italian this is it! You can literally taste the love that is put into the food. I’d highly suggest the Chicken Parmesan and the spinach tortellini with white sauce. Trust me you will not be disappointed.
Hands down the best Italian food we've ever had! Very laid-back atmosphere and friendly service. Bread was fabulous and both the red and white sauces were spectacular. And all for such a reasonable price. Can't wait to go back again!
Excellent food attentive staff
The meatball sandwich was delicious. Also got a salad, just lettuce with Italian dressing. Staff was friendly and service was prompt.
This used to be the best Italian restaurant, but has since gone downhill. I was hoping it was just the time of day I chose to go, but went back a month later and it was still very disappointing.
Malaras has consistently great food and the staff is very very friendly. We go there often.
Great place to eat.
Haven't been for a few years. Still a good place to go.
Excellent Italian food.
Dont waste your time or money
Great food great service highly recommend this establishment 4 itaian food
Very good. Our server Jill was very attentive and courteous. I would certainly recommend this for something more relaxed and different than the chain restaurants
Great food. Tastes like home.
Best Italian food in the city. Family run, friendly staff, great prices, excellent food!
Great food and service
The food was great, the entrance has a bottle neck effect by the register and hostess stand.
This place was really good and very accommodating and the service was great.
Slow service, you wait for everything, no one smiles or asks how the food was. Everything tasted like it came out of a can, including sauce & green beans. Sauce was sweet with no flavor
I love Malara's...anytime I pass through Omaha I always make sure to stop and get their fantastic Mozzarella sticks and pasta. This is authentic, real-deal Italian and it shows, from the warm hospitality to the amazing food.
Don't let the looks of the outside fool you. It is a large beautiful restaurant with amazing staff and food. I had the veal parm and it was out if this worl. Decent pricing also
Food was good, server was incredibly rude to our entire table. Made for an awkward business lunch, won't take a guest back in a professional capacity again. It'll be a while before I go back as well.
Great food, family run, great service
Great service, great food.
Pasta, homemade pasta. Nothing else needs to be said. But I shall go on regardless. The homemade spaghetti noodles with meatballs are just like nana used to make, but I can't. Salad with homemade Italian is delicious, and very generous. The rolls are always hot when they are brought to the table. Servers are attentive and competent. Cozy place that is great for family dinners. Don't get down there as much now, but always a treat when I am.
Fantastic and authentic Italian cuisine.
Great food in a very nice little quaint part of town. Highly recommended.
Excellent food n Service
Old school style and decor. The service was very good and attentive. The food was okay, but not great partly due to personal preference. The red sauce is a sweet sauce and I prefer savory sauce. The noodles were bland and slightly overcooked. The salad was fairly basic (iceberg lettuce with a few carrots and maybe some red onion) and may have been a little brown but we couldn't tell because it had a lot of dressing. I think it was a red wine vinegar that gave the lettuce a red tint. The best part of the meal was the warm roll. I would not recommend this restaurant to family and friends visiting Omaha.
Love eating here! Service is always friendly and nice. It's a tad expensive but, hey! Gotta stay in business. Food is delicious!
used to work there food is still always as good as it always was wouldn't if anybody is looking for a good Italian food that's where to go
One of the best Italian restaurants in Omaha. I’ve gotten the veggie pasta both times, and the portions are large enough for me to get 2-3 servings out of, and somehow it tastes even better the next day. The true star of the show was their mozzarella sticks; I‘m certain that they are the best I’ve had in my entire career of eating fried cheese sticks. Magnifico!
Very bland. Rushed out the door. Not going again.
One of our favorite places. Almost immediate seating. Good food and decent service.
One of the last Italian frontier left on Omaha. Don't waste your money at a boring chain. Eat authentic Italian homemade fresh food. Ciao Piasano!!
Best spaghetti in Omaha. Homemade noodles make all the difference.
The food is wonderful.
Best Italian food for the price!
Excellent authentic Italian food with one of a kind service! Sweet Miss Malara herself can be found in the kitchen! Stop in with an appetite, you won't be disappointed!
This was quite possibly one of the best Italian Restaurants I've ever been to. The staff were extremely friendly. I ordered the Pasta and Brascioli and was not disappointed.
Great food wonderful staff very reasonable
Great food at a nice price.
So original, spaghetti is over the top. Service excellent. Food cooked to perfection. Price's are great.
It’s like eating dinner at Grandma’s house! Food is delicious, fresh and always good! You can’t go wrong with the deep fried raviolis!! You won’t regret going!
Love the pasta here...the only place I know with whole wheat pasta
Excellent food and service.
Great, homestyle Italian cooking, absolutely delicious. Dealt very well with being understaffed!
Bland red sauce restaurant was almost empty besides a large wedding table was seated right next the loud party would not go back
Very authentic Italian food cozy atmosphere
Tl;dr: The service is great, but the food leaves much to be desired. Went here with my fiance on our anniversary weekend. The hostess and waitresses were very friendly and prompt with everything. The service was absolutely phenomenal. They served us warm rolls after we ordered and those were delicious, but that is where the good things stopped. We got some homemade mozzarella sticks as our appetizer. They were rather bland and the sauce they served them with was like nothing I've ever had. It was sickly sweet and devoid of most flavor due to that. My meal was lasagna with a meatball on the side. The lasagna was bad mainly due to my disagreement with the sauce and the chopped egg on there did not help either. The meatball tasted like the meat was squeezed out of Chef Boyardee raviolis and smashed into a ball shaped. My fiance got the carbonara and while they taste was good, it was served with chunks of "sauce" instead of the typical way. This made it difficult to eat and she was dissatisfied. We got a cannoli and a piece of tiramisu in hopes of finding something tasty on the menu. The cannoli was devoid of flavor and tasted how I imagine Play-Doh must. The tiramisu was clearly frozen as we had a bunch of ice crystals in the middle of it which was disappointing.
Order was incorrect on 3 different things. Food was just ok. I had the chicken parmigiana and it was almost inedible because it was so full of tendons. Nobody loved their dish. Service was spotty, our waitress was good - but had a lot of young kids helping not sure of what they were doing.
