Coming from New Mexico, this is the most authentic Mexican food that can be found here. The people are incredibly genuine, prices are reasonable, and the food is full of flavor. It's the closest to home that I have found and you should come out. It is great!

My opinion about this restaurant is pretty amazing this restaurant to eat lunch and supper here. And the big burritos was pretty amazing. But the service was not nice to my friend and me. I'm thinking the service need to be nice to the costumers. That's not okay to be salty with your costumers. Yesterday I went to El Chaparro to get tamales. I was informed that they were out and I thought, “Well, what if I try D’Leons tamales today?” Poor decision on my part. I couldn’t eat more than a bite as I sadly (yet fondly,) realized that El Chaparro has ruined all other tamales for me. I’ve never had a bad meal here, no matter what I order, and I can’t say that about any other restaurant in Lincoln. By far my favorite place to eat!

What a pleasant surprise! El Chaparro hides amazing food and first-rate service inside a humble exterior. And the prices! Expect to pay $5 to $9 for a meal that would be $12 to $20 anywhere else. This is a real mom and pop establishment, and the locals know it. The owner stopped by our table to talk with us. He was serving and taking orders along with everyone else. The food is lovely and fresh, made by people who truly take pride in their work. Definitely stop in for a visit!
