REVIEWS OF Brushi Bistro & Bar IN Nebraska

Took my wife here for her birthday and we both loved it. We moved here from NY so we can be somewhat selective about our restaurants and Brushi was awesome. The ambiance is very nice, tastefully decorated but the food is obviously the best part. So far this and the Mexican restaurant in Elkron is our favorite.

This place is amazing. Healthy, reasonably-priced, beautiful, colorful, delicious food and friendly wait-staff. The chocolate cake is #1!

Gary Glissman

Absolutely one of the best places for lunch or dinner. Food is consistently excellent, same with service. We eat there at least once a week and always enjoy it.

Kea Jensen

Shrimp over cooked Bad service.

Joe Fortina

Very good food, and excellent customer service. If your trying to impress someone, then this is a great place to be. It's on the expense side as far as restaurants go. For me it's worth the money but I usually go 4-5 times a year.

Having lived in the city most of my life, I think I’ve heard of 99% of the restaurants. My teenaged daughters have been here if prom dinner and as a top contributor to TripAdvisor I’d be remised if I didn’t try it out for myself. I wasn’t disappointed! Made reservations for 6:15 and surprised to see so many open tables on a Friday night. The bar was full and guessing the happy hour folks were there to take advantage of the special pricing. The service by Richard was great! His homemade/ well-used menu was very cute and we appreciated him having one. I have a butternut squash soup as an appetizer and we also split curry fries. Both were very good. My sister had the cod special with lumps of lobster and I had veal piccata special. We finished our meal without a crumb left on our plate. About the only complaint I’d have is portion size since we wanted more! For dessert we split the deconstructed banana split that was also great. We will be back!!

Great dining experience from the relaxing atmosphere of of the restaurant to the wait staff, the presentation of the food and most importantly the food itself was exquisite. We had the Whiskey Chicken, it was tender, juicy and wonderful flavor. Highly recommend

Dana Black

Amazing service and execution of fresh ingredients every time, bravo!

Please take the time to try this restaurant. It is unusual and delicious. We have not had a bad meal out of all the dishes the chef makes. The service is just as good.

Ryan Carnahan

I've enjoyed every meal I've had at Brushi. The ambiance is very nice. The waitstaff have all been very friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant is always clean and well kept. The menu options are very comprehensive. The plating is gorgeous. I also feel that the pricing is very reasonable all things considered. I'd happily recommend Brushi for lunch of dinner.

Jeffrey Abboud

Its just the same every time im in that meal taste exactly the same as i remember it

Very impressed with Brushi, came here for dinner on a Saturday night at 7 pm with a group of 10 people. We did not have to wait because we had made reservations before hand, which is a great benefit of this place so you can plan in advance and not have to wait & are guaranteed a table which can come in handy on a Friday/Saturday night. We had the crab cakes and the flatbread pizza as an appetizers they were both very good and presentation was good as well. For the main entree I tried the beef filet and I also tried the clam chowder soup on the side as well both very good and tasty. The beef filet came with a small side of veggies and your choice of potato either mashed, or homemade fries. One of the best filets I have had in a while. For dessert they had a pretty extensive menu with 10 different dessert option which at first I thought maybe they might not be as good because usually when restaurants offer to much selection they all kind of taste average. But I went ahead and tried the chocolate moose which was excellent and again presentation was good as well. Overall Brushi is a great restaurant for a higher end dinner and experience . If you are looking for a more casual and cheaper dinner I would look elsewhere because this place is more upscale. My only negative about Brishui is the portions can be on the smaller side for the price you are paying. It does not in any way mean that the food is bad but if u are really hungry you might not be totally satisfied with just the main entree but they have great appetizers and dessert options which paired with your entree should be enough food for most, and they give you complementary bread & butter which were good. Overall I am very pleased with Brushis from the great service, quality/ presentation of the food, and most importantly the taste of the food. If you are looking for a higher end dinner experience Brushi's on 132nd & dodge is a great place to try!

First visit. Friday night with a reservation. Definitely an older clientele. The entryway had kind of a sterile, off-putting scent, but it did not seem to be in the dining room. The menu said that they had O'Dell IPA on tap so that's what we ordered. Beer did not taste like O'Dell IPA. When the bill came it said the beer was O'Dell Loose Leaf Ale. Did not appreciate that a different beer was substituted and charged to us without our consent. Our water glasses were never refilled. Husband ordered Brie Sandwich. I ordered Sea Scallops. He was brought the correct dish. I was brought a salmon dish. My husband had food in front of him while we waited for mine. When the sea scallops came they were stringy and raw in the center with an off-putting flavor. I have had much better scallops. I cannot believe they charged $27 for that dish: 2 medium scallops and one small one. Portions were small. Husband's brie sandwich was very average. His side salad was good and tangy, and my vegetables and gnocchi in balsamic sauce were tasty. Would not return.

Great food but I would wish Paul would change the menu

Tim Maides

Swiss born Chef Paul is an expert in his field, he designed the whole restaurant himself and serves food that is thoughtful, beautiful, and delicious. The service was impeccable. Places like this are a dying breed

Kelli Powell

Food was great, beautifully presented.

Curt Field

We followed Paul at his last Omaha project, and can't stay away from this one. Of course, the food is FABULOUS, and the bar experience is literally the best in town, no arguments.

Brandewyn Crabill

Absolutely loved the food. We went in without a reservation around 6:30 on a Saturday night and the host let us know all the tables were booked for the evening but that we could sit at the bar. The bartender Tim really took care of us and our food arrived faster than I thought humanly possible. We ordered looked over the drink menu, ordered out cocktails and the food arrived just as the my drink was being poured. Literally could not have been more than 10 minutes. We got the Mac and Cheese and the whiskey chicken, both were amazing. Will definitely eat here again next time we are in town.

Third trip to Brushi and it remains flawless. This time, a divine yellow pepper soup with herbs, and a piece of salmon cooked to perfection over a bed of al dente veggies in a light sauce with hint of lemon. Could not have been better. Reviews of the first two trips were deleted accidentally. The whiskey chicken is pictured below; it is melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Likewise for the squash soup. Everything we have tried here is good, and it's reasonably priced for the quality. Update: yet another perfect meal, the delicate squash soup followed by cod in a light, buttery sauce with an array of veggies and a few large shrimp.

Always a great experience. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, wonderful varied menu!

Great service, great food. What else can you ask.

Karen Kushner

As per my most recent experience, I found the atmosphere at Brushi to be less than congenial. Poorly aimed and glaringly hot overhead lights, combined with intermittent noise from the struggling ventilation system, created unpleasant challenges for my dining party. It is high time to consider renovating the space for the comfort of your clientele. Our waiter struck me as a rather beleaguered fellow, one who reaped precious little joy from human contact in general, and from our table in particular. The exigencies of the service industry seemed to have taken a toll on him; his demeanor at times bordered on loathing. Give the man a raise, and a vacation! The food itself was nothing special. With all due respect, perhaps the kitchen staff were having a bad night? That said, I wish Chef Paul Braunschweiler and his colleagues well, although I don’t plan to return to his restaurant any time soon.

Great presentation! The Scallops were the best we've had and the filet was very tender!

Lisa Jackson

Always fresh food, friendly service, cozy on a cold day

Jessica Moses

My husband and I are big time foodies and we both agree that this was one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. Everything from the appetizers all the way through the dessert was amazing. The onion soup is a MUST. The crab cakes were delicious, and the entrees were perfectly prepared, full of flavor, and the serving size was just right. We had the deconstructed banana split feederd and it was great as well. We will definitely be back!!

Dan Gobbel

it was hands down one of those meals you only see in the movies oh and the Bartender, knows his stuff the kicken mule his twist 10, chef Paul his plateing of food eat smell with your eyes would've been filled, sit at bar and eat first he'll tske care of you bartender jeff a awesome job.

Had a delicious lunch here today, courtesy of my brother. I've been in for drinks before, but this was my first time having food. Started with a soup special, butternut squash with sour cream...excellent! For my entrée I had another special, pork medallions with mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley. Pork was perfect, the veggies were cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were buttery smooth. Highly recommend this place to anyone, the only minor detail was that they were out of Coke...but there's no way that makes this less than a 5 star dining experience.

Melinda Nelson

The food is perfect and pretty. I have only had good food at Brushi. Guests we have brought say the same thing. Moderate portions and off beat selections, although not strange or too adventurous for those wanting something familiar. Paul, the owner and chef is a perfectionist. If something isn't right, let him know. Richard is our favorite server and is excellent. He is a pro. Last visit was a little drafty sitting next to a big window. Happy hour here is great also. They have a happy hour menu to try some of their appetizers if you are so inclined. Great craft-y cocktails if you prefer but nice wine list although not extensive. Cheers!

Linda Zimmerman

A great time for our whole group. Richard was great! The food was delicious as usual. Thanks for a lovely evening Linda Z.

Susan Bowers

Good food, nice place. Time to remodel restrooms though.

We had a party of 7 tonite and we all thought the food was exquisite. Our server Richard was fantastic as well. This is definitely a must try restaurant.

Stopped in for lunch and the service and food were great! The Chef has personal interaction with customers and the wait staff were very friendly and helpful. I had the Onion Soup Normandy and loved it because it is more of a creamy base instead of a broth base like French Onion. The Brie Sandwich was delicious and the fact that they make their own potato chips is awesome. They also grow their own herbs and spices behind their restaurant. I would recommend that everybody try it at least once. The prices are a little bit higher but you get what you pay for!

Food is excellent, and I like the fact that the portions are reasonable. Just enough food on the plate so you don't feel like having to roll yourself out the door. Could use a little help in the craft beer market, but their wine menu makes up for it.

When it's special.Maybe it's to impress, but what ever the occasion is the food at this pl ace puts your worries to bed,all you have to do is close that deal or proposel.the apps, the soup, the salad, Paul's specials are artwork plateing ,something you see every time here at brushi, there's details in every dish,i like the Veal shrimp or veal veronesi, to start i like salmon ceviche onion soup Normandy and I love the chocolate cake

Everything here is really well done. Their lunch filet is fantastic; delicious steak and butter, lots of fresh vegetables, and a nice bit of mashed potatoes. Everything you'd want from a nice steak dinner but lunch-sized and lunch-priced. Their other dishes have all been very good too; the Macaroni and Cheese in fantastic, soups are always really nice, plenty of great appetizers. My friend who lived in Spain for years said that the paella was better than anything she'd had over there! The plating is always really nice, too. Stop by and have a wonderful meal.

Nice place, good atmosphere, and a very engaging bartender. Food is pretty good too.

I've only been here a few times but it's quickly become one of my favorite spots in West Omaha. Food and service are consistently exceptional. The menu has something for everyone and they'll have numerous specials that seem to change frequently. Try the Onion Soup Normandy to start. On my first visit the waiter all but begged me to try it; he said it would be like eating at the soup stand from Seinfeld but without the belligerence. He was right: it really is that good!

Martin McCamy

The food was just okay, never had paella that want yellow from spices and just bland. They were busy, so I'll give a pass on the level of service. Be careful with the menu. They do not list all the ingredients. Had a little surprise which isn't great for a person with allergies.
