At present this business gets a score of 4.9 over 5 and the rating has been calculated on 177 reviews.
As you can see its rating is practically the best one, and it is founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can say that the score is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to value when they are satisfied with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to write reviews when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of Restaurant.
I'm from out of town and I can see why this place has such impeccable ratings. I am a foodie and have dined at some of the best restaurants in the country. For the price you pay, this has to be one of the best values in the U.S. I …
This place is incredible. It feels like a Michelin starred restaurant in the food quality. So amazing. I want to eat here all the time. So good.
Went here with my girlfriend and the food was delicious! Inviting ambiance and great staff. Our server was awesome.
If you love food...then this is the food you will want to be with! Amazing!
Best restaurant in Omaha right now. Amazing food and Justin makes awesome drinks. Sit at the bar, order some good food, and chat him up!
Au Courant was the most perfect dining experience for me and my spouse. I recommend the Chefs Tasting menu with Wine pairings. Made for an incredible dining experience. Another great thing is that it is affordable which gives everyone the chance to enjoy modern cuisine no matter what there budget is. We had wonderful people who brought out the food, as well as Harrison who really made things extra special for us. Will definetly be returning frequently.
Service was excellent! Food presentation was very nice! Food tasted very good... However the portion sizes are just too small. Bigger portions and I would give it a 5 star.
Excellent food at reasonable prices
Amazing. We had the tasting menu and each dish was just the right portion (6 course meal). Taste great and flavorful. Will likely return.
Unique ever changing menu. Both food and cocktails. Great atmosphere and service.
Exelent food and service, great for a date night
Excellent food, Excellent drinks, Excellent ambiance! Highly recommended!
The best
We eat in all the Omaha high end restaurants, for 40 years. We eat all over the world and live near New Orleans. We just blundered into this gem by pure accident. We usually grade each course with strengths and weaknesses. I can't recall a time when we could not find fault with anything we were served. The guy has a perfect pallet. Prices are dangerously cheap. Portions are modest but for us allows us to experience more. We will not be back till fall. I am worried that this place will be so booked that we can not get in. This is not a restaurant. This is a tour-de-force in culinary genius. Thank God it is an obscure part of Omaha. Till we get back, please, my friends, devour every morsel with the discernment and pure pleasure it was created with.
Great food! Modern and very well prices! A gem.
Great food! Currently best info Omaha. Must try, recommend to everyone!
Great food, great presentation
This is the best high-end restaurant in Omaha if you are looking for premier food and incredible customer service! If you have not been here yet - you need to make a reservation. I recommend the “Chef’s Pick.” Benjamin Maides does an amazing job and likely will correct me on the dishes if he runs across this!
Excellent restaurant for date night or grabbing drinks with friends. We did the tasting menu and loved everything on it! It’s somewhere you definitely would want to go to more than once.
We walked in with no reservations late on a Saturday night after a full day of travel. Although the attire around us was business casual we were wearing shorts and t-shirts. The staff's initial attitude seemed a bit stiff (possibly because of how we looked?), but they eventually were very attentive. The food was wonderful.
Love this place! Do yourself a favor and try the tasting menu; it's a fantastic price for a tastebud adventure. Their craft cocktails are fun to try and the staff is courteous and informative without being pretentious or stuffy.
Our daughter wanted to try this place for her birthday. We finally made it to Omaha and had reservations for 6 pm on a Saturday. We got right in. Our server was Sam and he was friendly and was able to answer any and all questions we had. She had requested the tasting menu for her birthday so that's what we did. It is 6 courses for $55 each and the whole table needs to participate. We started course 1: french onion soup, 2: roasted beet salad, 3: pasta 4: Scottish trout 5: beef 2 ways (short rib and filet) 6: almond orange cake with white wine ice cream. We also had a bottle of wine with our meal. The portions are on the small side but with 6 courses we were full. Our daughter enjoyed it and that's what mattered.
Did the chefs tasting, it was AMAZING. Highly recommend!
Just such a special place. So amazing!
The food and wine pairings were amazing. The service was too notch and the sommoleir had a story for each course. Easily one of the top meals I've had in my life. Highly recommend.
Excellent chief's choice menu. Easily the best in Omaha.
As close as you'll ever get to mixing fine dining and affordable. Excellent service and delicious food. Try the schnitzel!
We choose this place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We did the tasting menu and wine pairing. It was fantastic. ❤️
Visited on our 27th wedding anniversary. We had never been before so were reluctant to try the tasting menu before knowing what it was like... had heard only good things. Everything we ordered was fantastic and reminded us of the food we had at a 3 star Michelin restaurant a few years back. My husband was so impressed he said we are coming back to try the tasting menu and declared this the best restaurant in Omaha. He’s usually a tough one to impress. He ordered the risotto and said it was the best he’s had... we just got back from Tuscany so that’s saying something. We tried the signature seasonal drinks and they were also fantastic. Can’t wait to go back. I had the fluke and it was perfect.
Was in Omaha for work and went to a different restaurant for dinner every night. Decided to try Au Courant - and it turned out to be the best! I was afraid that portions would be small, but not at all. Had an amazing appetizer of smoked …
Get the chefs choice 7 course meal it is incredible. The drink selection especially top shelf bourbon is amazing! They had E.H. Taylor 4 Grain which is rare and went great with the awesome food.
Excellent food, great service. Reasonably priced.
Great place in Benson! If you are looking for a place where you don't have to make any decisions on food or wine this is your place. Just let the chefs make all the food choices for you. Just sit back, drink wine and enjoy conversation.
This has to be one of the best meals I've had in Omaha ! My 3 sons and I did the tasting menu($55) with the wine pairing. ($30) Absolutely delicious ! We will be going back ! Service was spot on ! Atmosphere lovely. There was not a negative.
Overpriced for the amount of food you get.
We had a lovely evening enjoying Au Courant tonight. It was our first time here and we went with the chefs tasting menu at $55 per person; portions were good size and included 2 appetizers, a pasta, fish and meat plate. The service and atmosphere were also wonderful. The menu is refreshed weekly and I would greatly recommend adding this one to your list and returning soon if it's been a while.
Located in the old Espana space on Maple Street. The room is large, dark and romantic. There is a large square bar in the center of the space, with the prime dining area located in the rear.Service is exceptional here. Reall top drawer. And the food is exquisite. The menu changes weekly, based on availability. Think of it as European in style. and farm to table. Our last visit was on New Year's Eve, I had a Spanish cut of pork, with celery root puree and kimchi--amazingly good. Others had the trout and steelhead trout with crab entress, and loved them as well. There are also pastas, small plates, appetizers and amuses. We had the bacon and potato amuse fort $3. And the trout rilletes are a must every time we go (a hint, though, if you are gluten free like me, bring GF crackers). There are many GF dishes, and the kitchen is careful with those issues. One thing that stands out here is the presentation of the food--truly remarkable. There are good wine, beer and cocktail lists, and prices are very, very fair. One small nit is that it can get quite noisy hert, due to all the hard surfaces. Highly, highly recommended.
Went on a date with my girlfriend and we can’t stop talking about it. The food is delicious and they bring in fresh produce from local farms.
Very artistic dishes and full of flavor. I know it's the not the style but I wish the dishes will be a bit larger.
First time in. Sat at the bar, which was actually quite pleasant. Cocktails, starters with a wine pairing, mains, dessert, and more cocktails! Well done, Au Courant!
The food was amazing, beautiful, AND SUPER DELICIOUS!!!! The vibe of the restaurant and service were excellent
This place is definitely worth reviewing because you need to know what you are getting when you go here: not a lot of food (therefore not for those looking for a very hearty meal) and much more thoughtful in their approach. The flavor combination that we got when trying their appetizers and entrees were phenomenal, something I'd highly recommend at least trying once. However, the dessert was pathetic in my opinion - one of the desserts a friend of mine ordered looked like gummy candy squares coated in table sugar; there were four of them on a plate. It seemed as though they front loaded their complexity and style on entrees. Overall, the staff took care of us and we had a great time here.
Wonderful food, great service. A little on the spendy side but definitely worth it. Very nice whiskey list, creative cocktails.
Vibrant atmosphere, delicious creative food!
My favorite place in Omaha. Exquisite food.
Superb good and service. Definitely get the chef's choice.
Wow. Possible the best in Omaha
Hands down, one of the best restaurants in Omaha. The price is higher than some, but the value is superb. The small "Amuse" plates are $3-4 and perfect for a few delicious bites to start the meal. The bartender Justin recommended the Capellacci, it was mouth watering and nearly the highlight of the meal. Our entrees we're delicious, and with the ever changing menu, we will most definitely return. Side note, try the cocktails. Classic drinks with wonderful twists such as a spiked Arnold Palmer. The drink is half off if you order when the drink's song is playing.
Had the tasting menu for dinner tonight, everything was excellent. A bit pricey, but it is worth it for the experience. This is becoming my favorite way to eat: chef's choice, fresh local ingredients. Go check it out, you won't regret it.
The best restaurant in the city. The food is creative and popping with flavor. The staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. I love it!
We have been here twice and had outstanding meals both times. The menu changes with the seasons, which is appreciated. I had the risotto both times and although they were different because of the seasonal changes, they were both excellent. I had this as a main course and was plenty full. The wait staff is professional, knowledgable and attentive.
My wife loves it here! Brought her here for date night and this place made our date night very memorable, she had the Orange Crush and Tea Time cocktails. And we each ordered a pasta entree and one steak to share. I highly recommend this place!
By far the best restaurant omaha has to offer foods amazing and so is the staff will be bak 4 sure
One if the best places in town
Cute ambiance and a diverse menu for food and drinks. Summer Smash cocktail was amazing!
Great food, friendly service, but far too loud to get 5 stars. I really enjoyed the carrot appetizer and beat salad. The chorizo meal was a clear hit, but be warned that it is a heavy meal. Drinks were good too although not dramaticly different than any other good restaurant. Only the tartare was not a hit at the table.
Simply put, one of the best in Omaha. Their Chef’s pick tasting menu 6 course meal, is amazing. You will not be disappointed, from the atmosphere, to the service, to the delicious food... kudos to Chef Ben Maides, Carlos Méndez and their awesome staff.
Au Courant has become our go to place for meals whether spur of the moment or special occasion. Always wonderful, frequently surprising. Service is on-point. Alex and Justin are masters of wine and spirits, respectively. Chef Maides is the best in Omaha - we are lucky to have him.
My partner and I celebrated our anniversary here and it blew all of our expectations out of the water. The staff was incredibly kind and walked us through their detailed menu start to finish, from wine to dessert. The food was impeccable and came out in no time. Highly recommended.
Very friendly and professional staff, beutiful interior design and amazingly delicious food! Very happy with my experience definitely will be back, highly recommend!
Very good small plate options to share. Perfect for. Date night. I went with a group and we had a wonderful time.
Went for an anniversary dinner. Pros first, cons at the end. We asked for a keto tasting menu as my partner suddenly decided to do this diet. The kitchen accommodated. Most of the items they pulled from the main menu. From the Aperitif menu: Rilette ($11) white fish, beets and creme fraiche. It was their version of a tartare they said. It was very well balanced with flavor and texture. Loved this dish. Daikon ($7) curry, yogurt, egg yolk. I'm not sure if this is a very good description. It certainly is a very unique dish. It was bursting with flavor to the point of being almost overwhelming. If you want a powerful punch, definitely choose this dish. Proscuitto ($11) red onion, radish, carrot. This was a beautifully presented dish, again balanced very well. I preferred the Rilette, but there was absolutely nothing wrong with this one. Black Bass ($17) Lentils, guanciale, cauliflower - Delicious. The cauliflower is slightly sweet. The fish is grilled perfectly. Pork Chop ($25)Turnips, sunchoke, honey. I'm not sure if this dish comes with the beef cheek as well normally, but ours had it. I'm guessing the tasting menu items the portion might be smaller than if you ordered off the regular menu. It was something I should have asked, but I did not realize at first they were pulling from the main menu. For dessert they did "Casatica di bufala" cheese from Italy as he could not have a sweet. For me this was not a great dessert as I wasn't a huge fan of the cheese, but for someone who's keto, its great! There were small modifications made to the individual dishes listed as well as the food items might have been modified so that it fit into the keto diet better. I appreciated their willingness to accommodate. I believe for $55 the tasting menu is a no brainer. Definitely a fantastic option. All items chosen were great. The chef is obviously talented with a good eye and palate. Service was professional and attentive. The downsides do not have anything to do with their food or service. If anything it is the lack of parking in the area (mostly street parking). However, that is how it is with most of Benson. I probably would not recommend this place for an anniversary dinner in the future, but it is a great place to go with friends, to have birthday, or most any other occasion. I wouldn't call the atmosphere romantic, but its very friendly with a boisterous environment which can get quite loud at times. We had difficulty hearing our server not from her lack of trying to relay the information.
An elegant dinner for a reasonable price. The two of us had 4 courses each with drinks for under $100. Highly recommend the Pana Cotta for dessert!
Had a party of 4 on a Saturday night, We had a reservation and it did not seem overly packed, which was surprising. We were seated promptly. Started with some beef tartar, beets, gnocchi and risotto. All were an awesome taste sensation Full of flavor, creative and unique. This was some of the best gnocchi I have ever had! The tomato flavor was as if the life of he tomato was infused into the dish. Main courses consisted of the beef, pork and the dory. The beef was excellent, but I think the pork was even better. The piperade and the glaze, along with the slight char on the pork loin offered a great flavor balance. The dory was flavorful, and certainly not fishy. The skin was on it, and it was served in a broth with vegetables. We had two bottles of wine with dinner, a Pinot and a Bordeaux Alex, the "sommelier in training" was asked about a Cabernet Franc on the wine list. He said other people had described it as "rubbery". I'm not certain what that means, so we passed on that on. I hope Alex can find a find a better way to describe the wines in the future. Highly recommend this farm-to-table culinary experience.
Small dishes created with artistic flair and loving care! Take a special someone for a romantic evening.
Not even done eating our chefs choice tasting menu. Oh may gah!! Really good, really, really good.
Au Courant is the best restaurant I've eaten at in Omaha. We tried the chef's tasting menu (6 courses selected by the chef) and it was absolutely amazing. The wine pairing was also fantastic and perfectly complimented each dish. The sommelier was incredibly informative about each pairing.
Excellent starters. Lovely ambiance. We did have to send a salty, dry, $27 beef back, but were quickly compensated with a delicious Barrimundi dish. I recommend this restaurant highly!
Loved this restaurant due to their various tastes.
AWESOME! Chef Ben and his staff are GREAT!!!
great food good prices
!!!!!!!!!!FANTASTIC.......FLAVORIFIC!!!!!!!!!!
Such an excellent restaurant. The food is delicious. Menu changes all the time. Locally sources. The staff is all very friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent ambience. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Omaha. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
The food was amazing. The service was quick and attentive. The staff recommendations were perfect. We will definitely be returning
Unbeatable, delicious $55 tasting menu. Great drinks too!
Great food and service
We have been here twice and had outstanding meals both times. The menu changes with the seasons, which is appreciated. I had the risotto both times and although they were different because of the seasonal changes, they were both excellent. I had this as a main course and was plenty full. The wait staff is professional, knowledgable and attentive.
Amazing menu and wine selections, and impeccable service.
Similar styles of regional menu's cost 5 times as much in New York or California but the quality here is better!
Carlos and his vision in culinary arts will surprise any palate, and the simplicity of the decor makes it a special place.
Great food, and excellent service. The quantities are very very small for the prices. Compared to other places in Dundee or Benson, the value for money is considerably less.
Awesome food, great service. I hope Omaha appreciates this gem.
I went here for my birthday. It was a fun treat. The best part is how much of an experience this is. The focus on your food what you're eating and the ingredients makes it a fun place. The food is also absolutely delicious! Highly recommend you experience this for yourself.
The best meal I have had in years. Each course was beautiful and delicious. The server described every ingredient and the farm it was sourced from.
Always a pleasure to try the new menu items. Creamy pastas. Interesting small plates. Delicious cocktails. Never had a bad experience here!
Good, tasty, healthy dishes made by lots of local products.
Outstanding in all ways
Excellent.
A stylish restaurant without being over the top, it has a quiet elegance to it. And the menu follows the lead, the menu is sophisticated and inventive, so well executed to the plate. If you see the fried squash blossom on the menu, have it, you will not soon forget it. The feef cheek pasta is practically perfect. Working my way through the menu!
We love this place ,the owner & staff! The food is one of a kind, delicious recipes, some old world touch. Love the seafood steelhead trout, rack of lamb! Potato beet salad! Exquisite!
Been here multiple times and never the same menu but always great. Every course from drinks to dessert is well done and great.
A compete meal experience for the body and mind. It was a great place to spend our 45th aniversary.
Best restaurant in this town!!! Super fresh local amazing!!!! Very creative Chefs big thanks to b.o.h! And f.o.h. amazing service everything was more than perfect! We'll be back every new menu. 5stars all day and don't forget to buy the kitchen a 6 pack for all their hard work and dedication
Excellent tasting menu, attentive professional service.
Service was excellent. We did the tasting menu. It was fun, but not quite up to par with other restaurants in town, though it was slightly cheaper. A lot of the courses seemed poorly thought out and just had too many clashing flavors. There was a course with fresh Marlin that was really good. The dessert was terrible (like a brioche rum bread, not a cake, over strawberry compote). There were only 4 chefs in the kitchen so I was certainly rooting for them and sent them the optional 6 pack for $10, which I thought was cool. Just wasn't nearly as good as I'd hoped it would be for the price.
Terrible customer service.
Below is my original review of Au Courant, wherein I called it the best restaurant in Omaha. I feel compelled to make this edit because that endorsement, strong though it may seem, wasn't enough. My wife typically only eats meat that's been cooked into oblivion, but she's had carpaccio and a medium-rare strip at Au Courant and enjoyed both. She regards fish with the kind of revulsion normally reserved for criminals and cockroaches, but she had bass at Au Courant tonight and enjoyed that. If she were caught between a chef brandishing a spear of asparagus and a crazed medieval guardsman wielding an actual spear, I can't say which she'd fear more, but she's had that at Au Courant and loved it. You see where I'm going with this. There is something magical about this place. There's really nothing quite like it. Do not miss out. --- (Original review follows) For my money, this is the best restaurant in Omaha right now, offering fine dining in a casual atmosphere at a very reasonable price. The menu is diverse and changes weekly, so you can always find something new to try. Every dish I've had has been delicious and beautifully presented. I strongly recommend the chef's tasting menu, especially if you're going for the first time.
Smells great
Nice place, excellent service and food
Delicious sauces. We'll be back!
Delicious, locally grown and pretty affordable for such great tasting food! Loved the atmosphere.
My husband and I just had the chef's tasting menu tonight. It was delicious. I think we will be ordering the tasting menu every time from now on out. The place is by far our favorite restaurant.
Bring your taste buds! Fantastic food and still affordable! This same food on either coast would cost 4x the price! Great concept ensuring that you are always getting the freshest of the fresh ingredients! I can't wait to go back!
Chef's Tasting Menu was fantastic! Service was top notch. Ingredients were locally sourced.
This is an unbelievable experience. The meal, wine and service were excellent. Our server Rachel was great and the sommelier was well versed! We had the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings. Amazing!
We did the chef's tasting menu for my birthday and wow was it worth it! At only $55 for 6 courses, the price was hard to beat for such a great experience. We were served a play on a deviled egg, a scallop crudo, a mushroom and truffle tortellini, stuffed trout, seared beef and homemade sorbet and cheesecake. It was a wonderful experience, the staff was super friendly and helpfully explained each dish, and the atmosphere was great. They also have some great cocktails!
Possibly the best restaurant in Omaha.
Excellent food, wide variety of cocktails along with an extensive list of beer/wine. I went with their 7 course meal experience. Each dish was interesting and enjoyable, my favorites were the salmon and the steak. The dessert was delicious.
I had the tasting menu - 6 courses for $55, which I thought was an incredible value. The food was amazing - fresh, interesting, and vivid flavors. Service was spot on.
Best restaurant in Omaha! Be sure to try the locally made soaps in the restrooms
Best restaurant ,food is delicious.but you would need to reserve
Amazing
