What an amazing evening! My fiancé and I were celebrating our anniversary and we were torn on which steakhouse to go to. We made 3 reservations and read reviews on each one. 801 was the ONLY one that have good reviews across the board. 801 was the only one that asked if we were celebrating anything when we made the reservation. We arrived on time, table was ready and the host handed us an anniversary card with a gift card for our next visit! How sweet. I was impressed they take the time to handwrite cards and a gift card....above and beyond right there! We had a snafu with one salad, but our server ERIC immediately took care of it. We don't mind mess ups, they happen, but it's always how someone handles it. Food was amazing, steaks cooked properly and seasoned well, the staff all friendly....a big THANK YOU for making our evening wonderful. We plan on making 801 Chophouse our official celebration restaurant here on out.

A really descent restaurant with older style charm. It has a lot of railroad/train motifs going on and has a very interesting style. The steak was good, the sides were very nice. The Asparagus was ok and the Mushrooms were absolutely amazing. Their bar is very well stocked and the staff are decently pleasant.

Gorgeous building, great ambiance and a fantastic menu. While this isn’t a formal restaurant it isn’t casual and you should be prepared to study the menu ahead of time and build in plenty of time for all courses. Excellent place to dine for special occasions! I would highly recommend getting a steak if you do choose to come. I had the filet cooked medium rare, and it turned out fabulous. We also had the hash browns with cheese and those were amazing. I would definitely come back here. Plan on shelling out money, but for one of the best steaks you've ever had.

One of the few places to find lamb in the Omaha area and their pistachio crusted chops are perfectly paired with their Brussels sprouts and blue cheese potatoes. In all the times we've been to 801 Chophouse, we've never been disappointed. We've had many great servers here, but Bill is special. He makes us feel like guests in his own home, like that super smart but cool friend that really knows his food. You may spend a little more at 801 Chophouse than other places in town, but the quality, consistency, and service is absolutely and repeatedly worth it!

Very disappointed by the quality of the meat. Ribeye was blah and bone in filet average. Same experience last year with a porterhouse. If they truly buy prime meat, they are failing on the aging process. when you price in line with reputable steackhouses, the meat should be impeccable. Now for the best part, the wedge salad deserves the award. The perfect amount of blue cheesea and the freshest salad. Wine list is also great with some value selection.

First of all you need to know what you're getting yourself into. This is a classy restaurant and you will get amazing service. We were seated in a high booth more towards the kitchen. We got manhattans and old fashions, they were superb. We also got steak, of course. The sides are meant to be shared family style and we got the mushrooms and the duck fat potatoes. They were cut into squares and cooked with onions. Overall very delicious and our server was very attentive and kind. Will definitely be back.

Ordered the bone in filet medium rare. They cooked it well done. Sent it back, it was cooked almost blue 2nd time. They put it back on the grill and charred and ruined this expensive cut of meat and I called it. The creme brulee they tried bribing me with was terrible, sugar was charred just like the steak, it left it unedible for me to eat. Service was excellent on a positive note.

I see here in the comments they have a children's menu, I asked and i was told they don't. I ordered my son the NY strip it was tasty and not overcooked, not as tender as I would expect. I ordered a seafood pasta and felt the fish was overcooked, I feel shrimp should be tender and buttery, the shrimp in my bowl were not. The pasta and the sauce tasted amazing.

Welcoming, helpful and friendly staff and steaks that are to die for. Even though they have a myriad of appetizers and sides, do save your appetite for the steaks, and as tempting as it is, do not order any toppings on your steak, they are great, but the steak is so good by itself that it really doesn't need any extras.

The menu is pretty incredible, and my Delmonico steak was fabulous. Bone marrow butter bath! Happy hour = a $7 long island where, at a place as expensive as this, was like a give-away. Also had duck fat mashed potatoes of which server said I could get a 1/2 order. My server was good, gave recommendations when prompted, didn't come too often. The only drawback is the price, but after trying three "echelons" of steak in Omaha: Sullivans, Cascio's, and 801, 801 is truly set apart. However, I can say I wouldn't have tried the restaurant without the $25 off mobile app discount.

Fantastic food and the service was wonderful. Very classy place, so if you plan on coming dress appropriately. The menu is not cheap and our total for 3 came to 275$ and could have easily been more of we had opted for separate sides, appetizers, dessert, or more drinks. Wonderful food. We both had the ribeye. I had the Cognac butter with mushroom sauce on mine and love love loved it. Full of deep flavors. My hubby stuck with the raw horseradish on his. Dessert he had the cheesecake, so big he couldn't finish it. The bite I had was very fluffy and creamy, well worth the calories. Our server was great and manager was very friendly.

I enjoyed my quiet dinner with my husband for our wedding anniversary but it was very pricey. We won't be dining here very often but it's nice for a very special occasion. We had the Wagyu beef stroganoff meatballs for an appetizer and they were delicious. I had a 10 oz. Wagyu steak (that cost $100!!!) but it was superbly tender and flavorful. The carrots were delicious. The green beans were just ok for me as was the scalloped potato dish. My cucumber coconuts drink was very good. Service was very good also. And they made our dinner special with souvenir anniversary menus and a note with a $25 gift card for next time.

Eye popping prices. There are lots of other steakhouses with better value. I had the chicken and ate other people's leftovers. I can't believe people pay these prices for steak. That said, the meat I ate off others' plates was amazing. Tender and delicious. The sides, salads, and appetizers were well seasoned.

Omaha is no stranger to a plethora of diverse gastronomic choices. As a person who has worked in the service industry retail industry and all-around sales industry for 20 years I believe creating an experience for your guests truly sets the standard for the story you wish to tell as a business. However from the moment I walked in I felt this was just a little bit different the attention to decor, and aroma of hand polished wood and wood grilled steaks immediately tantalized my palate the festive and refined decor excited my eyes. However the menu spoke to my soul, that evening shall go down as one of the top three food experiences I have ever had and we didn't even drink wine that night.

My wife and I decided to treat ourselves and had dinner here. It was by far the best dining experience of my life. The food, atmosphere and customer service was outstanding. I'm not so sure the country music playing in the background was fitting. Be prepared to spend some hard earned money but very well worth it. The sides are served family style. Classic steakhouse that doesn't feel stuffy our pretentious. This is my favorite steakhouse in town and I have been to them all. The sauces for the steaks are not to be missed. Bone Marrow Butter and Cognac Butter and Mushroom Ragout are my favorite. You can get half portions of the salads, starches and vegetables to help make sure you can try them all. Take a cheesecake to go you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend!

The atmosphere and service are fantastic. The vast majority of the food is excellent, too. I gave only 3 stars because the rib-eye I ordered had way too much fat on it. I enjoy a well marbled steak, but there were large portions of nothing but fat. It definitely did not seem like a 'prime' cut of meat.

We celebrated my daughter’s high school graduation here. The staff had advanced knowledge of the celebration and they did a phenomenal job in acknowledging my daughter’s accomplishment. They treated her special from the time we checked in at the host station and up until our departure. The ambiance and customer service were outstanding. A fantastic steakhouse in a city full of them. Service is impeccable and very friendly. Steaks are of course the star of the menu but the sides are also wonderful (get the 1lb baked potato and the huge asparagus). I really enjoyed my dining experience at 801 chophouse. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. Our waitress made a good recommendation for wine that we really enjoyed. The watermelon spring salad was delicious with lots of flavor. We ordered the brussel sprouts, caramelized carrots, and scalloped potatoes as our sides. The caramelized carrots where not to soft and had just a touch of sweetness. The the brussel sprouts where perfectly cooked with a good flavor and garnished with pickled onions and bacon. Very tasty! The scalloped potatoes had a hard parmesan crust on the top and creamy and delicious underneath. I order the prime rib "801 cut" it was a little fatty but that's prime rib. Medium rare is the rarest they serve it. It was still very tender and had lots of juicy flavor. It rests in a bed of au jus on the plate and comes with a creamy horseradish dip that is phenomenal. I'm not a horseradish person but really enjoyed this creamy horseradish dip a lot. It was very creamy with just a touch of horseradish on the back side. They're a little on the pricey side but so are most restaurants of this caliber. I would for sure go again. Thanks for a great experience.

The ambiance felt like I was smack dab in 1980's Wall Street. Opulent and fun, but also kind of old and dated. Our server was either having a bad night or was new or something. He was nice, but not very efficient. Forgot a few things we ordered and when our main dishes were delivered, we sat there without silverware for a while until a different server noticed us sitting there, staring at our dinners. Halfway through our meal, someone else took over (along with one of the managers). We didn't ask for this, nor was this switch communicated to us. Overall, I thought the food was sub-par. Duck fat potatoes were mostly under-cooked, the creamed spinach came out a little too cold to be enjoyable, the asparagus was fine, but definitely not worth what we paid. My steak came out super charred and bitter on the outside and way overcooked. I asked for medium and got something much closer to well done. I managed to choke about half of it down. I wasn't about to ask for a replacement after how long we waited in the first place. As for the good: My dining companion's steak was cooked correctly and was very delicious. I am happy she shared some of it with me. The bread and lobster corn chowder were both out of this world good. But, when this is the best thing I can say about a steak dinner that was over $100 per person (without any booze), something is really wrong. Sadly, as a couple with plenty of disposable income who like to dine out, we will probably not be coming back anytime soon.

This was an absolutely amazing place for an evening dinner with my beau. Well dressed waiters, neat environment and a very calm and jazzy atmosphere. The prices of meals are on the higher end but well worth it. The bar is filled with endless classic choices and I loved the way we were cared for. Valet parking is available as well. Would definitely recommend.

I am from Nebraska. I LOVE steak. I have never sent a steak back in my life. I was so excited to bring my brother from out of town out for a bone-in filet. I had to send my steak back three times. I ordered it medium rare and it was indistinguishable from my bicycle tire. They apologized and tried again. It was as cold as my ice cubes the 2nd time. They tried re-warming it (pic included) and again- bicycle tire. I sent it back to keep it after that and gave up. Good service but absolutely unforgivable kitchen performance. I will just fast on Sundays when Mahogany is closed. Edit:Before any potential social media employees reach out-I do not want any refund, comps, or condolences. Just train your staff better so nobody else is embarrassed to bring their family out like I was.

I love chophouses. I eat at different ones far too often across the country and my waistline hates me for it. The 801 Omaha is top notch, and in my insignificant opinion, it is better than the 801 Denver. Midweek, I never have a problem finding a table. As can be expected, food is outstanding, steaks, sides, drinks, deserts all very rich and very tasty. Service can be hit or miss, depending on where you sit and who’s on shift. Sitting in a booth in the bar will generally render a more rushed, less-friendly service than say sitting in one of the dining rooms. Overall, a wonderful indulgence.

Great steak! Bone-in prime was tasty, so we're the sides! I was expecting the best steak ever, and while it was amazing, it didn't quite compare to some steakhouses I've been to in NYC, California, or Texas. Our server was a little odd as well. If I'm back in Omaha I'll probably try Spencer's or a different steakhouse before making this my go to place in Omaha.

More than a meal, an experience. My wife and I went here for a much-needed date night. Our 2.5 hour meal flew by. The service was incredible and well-paced. Everything was really excellent. We ordered: Creamed baked spinach Risotto (out of this world) Mushrooms Bernaise Dry-aged ribeye (so incredible) Filet Souffle (needs 45min prep time) Wine and more wine. Great wine selection and every item was prepared to perfection. Server checked on us regularly, but not too much. Will definitely be back!

801 Chophouse is like going back in time to a New York steakhouse in 1940. Aged prime beef, creamed spinach, a perfectly baked potato. The bar is well stocked and the barmen KNOW their job. We enjoy the prix fi Sunday menu (great value) and highly recommend.

The service was impeccable along with the food! We went in for my boyfriend's birthday and we were welcomed with a handwritten birthday card from 801 Chophouse staff as well as being seated in a nice 4 person table off by ourselves. I had the filet mignon medallions with the demi glaze sauce and it was hands down the best steak I've ever had. It was cooked to perfection (Medium Rare) and was easily the most tender steak I've ever had; we joked that it literally melted like butter when eating. We also had the truffle mushroom risotto (seasonal item) and it was incredibly creamy and flavorful. As other reviews noted, this is a really nice steakhouse so it is on the higher-end of prices, but I promise it is well worth every penny! If you want a great steak in Omaha, this is the place to be! Food and drinks were absolutely wonderful. Service was a bit lacking, no introduction and some long intervals between visits. But I will keep coming back for the wonderful food and drink! Would give 4.5 stars if an option, just because of the underwhelming service.

My friend had his birthday dinner here and everyone loved it! It's not cheap, but the service and the food are top notch. The drink menu was very detailed, including a separate scotch list. Lots of wine to choose from! We had the calamari and oysters Rockefeller to start. Nice thick strands of calamari topped with fried zucchini shreds with a tasty aioli. The steak menu is great, all meats are Prime grade with the exception of some off menu Wagyu cuts which are sometimes available. I had the 16oz Ribeye, Tuscan style (in olive oil and herbs), and it was so juicy and amazing... I can't even imagine how good my buddy's 32oz Wagyu tomahawk with truffle and foie gras on top was. We got sides of lobster mac, garlic mashed potatoes and candied carrots, and all were great! While I can't afford to go here often, I'll have it in mind a time or two a year going forward for sure!

Phenomenal Steaks and seafood. The wine list is huge. We had the mini crab cakes for individual portions, the lobster bites, tuna tartare, wagyu as well as the regular bone in ribeye and filet. Brussel sprouts and lobster Mac and cheese we're great. Excellent desserts.

Waitress wasn't too excited about much other than the meat on the menu. We paid for a dry aged bone in chop and received something completely charred on the exterior, highly unlikely to be dry aged, and very rare ( we asked for medium rare) the meal wasn't bad by any means, but for the price we were hoping to be blown away. I would return but stick to the standard cuts of meat.
