Discriminatory bar! Went as a US Citizen to have a good time with friends but could not get in because of my ID being from a colony of the US . Another friend from Latin America was let in without the need of a passport and he is not a US citizen. Yet, the people from Puerto Rico were not. The "bouncer" was uncomfortable just because we told him simultaneously that we were a part of US, I guess it's uncomfortable to actually know the country still exploits other countries. I guess they only apply the law when it convenient. Disgusting.

Helpful staff, lots of local brews, interesting (in the good way) mixed drinks, all at a good price. Bonus lots of games to play while you hang out, some are even free. Double extra bonus, they have a nice sized professional stage where a lot of the best local and out of town bands play.

Great bar. Fun atmosphere. They only serve Nebraska made beer on tap, which is awesome. They also try to have as many Nebraska made wine and spirits as they can as well. The place is also a music venue but the great thing is they are separate. So you can still go in and have a drink and not pay a cover. I don't smoke but the large fenced in smoking area is really nice if you are with smokers. Though I could see how that would bother some people as you have to move through it to enter the bar. Local art is usually hanging on the walls which is always nice to check out. Best of all Nintendo 64 lounge.

If you love craft beers, you need to visit this bar. It has a very relaxed vibe, new and always wide selection range of craft beers and mixed drinks (great Moscow Mule flavors), great music (both live in the back room or just playing over the speakers), old school video games, enclosed smoking area, and so many fundraising events, and best of all Paws and Draws!

Be prepared to have a someone from the company personally message you and try and get you to change the score. It's a matter of opinion, but if possible I would go as far as 0 out of 5 stars. Be lucky to have 1 star. Don't message me, or my friends either. With your shady tactics of trying to pretend like your bar is better than what it truly is.

Having just surpassed their 1 year anniversary of opening, 1867 Bar has not shown any signs of slowing down. Amazing staff, excellent LOCAL beer, you can bring your dogs in, and Kelsey, the owner, is one of the most down to earth, approachable and kind people you'll ever meet. Visiting Lincoln? Make this bar a must. You won't be disappointed.

Racist and discriminatory. Refused to let my legal Puerto Rican friends into bar on a 19+ night because they had "international" IDs, even though Puerto Rico has been a US territory since 1898 and Puerto Ricans have been US citizens since 1917. Cops nearby for Zoofest told us this is common 1867 practice. They let in other international students in our group, however, with barely any questions. Will not be coming back here again.

Good place for Nebraska alcohol but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it. The environment is not that nice: table tops and floor were sticky, there were people who brought there take out in and eating at the bar, the place was dead on a Saturday night, and the staff was not that friendly.

Visited Lincoln and ended up here, was a nice bar, as a non-smoker the only bad thing was you had to walk in from their smoking area to get inside the bar. It had a lot of great local beers on tap the help was really friendly and wait time was to a minimum.

Once of my favorite bars in town. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are tons of local beers, both bottled and on tap. They have live music all the time from local bands. One of the best parts is that the bar is split into two rooms, one had the bar and enclosed smoking area and the other has the bands playing. So if you want to just hang out or listen to music, yes is the perfect place to be.

Poor staff communication, hostile environment and poor service. Went here with some of my friends from Puerto Rico who had gone to this bar with us multiple times with no issue. This time they did nothing but publicly shame them for trying to enter and demanding their passports. Puerto Rico is a recognized US territory and PR citizens do not need their passport to travel within the US, however, tonight their PR IDs were not sufficient all of the sudden. The bouncer and owner spent their time at the door blaming their racism on the “law.” However, when I spoke to THREE cops nearby who were examining IDs for Zoofest (a music festival), they stated it was simply the bars “preference” to request a passport for Puerto Ricans, not a requirement. The cops also stated that it’s something they encounter frequently with the owner of 1867. (These are the facts, not the lies the owner has been putting in her responses to my friends. She did not check anything with the cops, I did) This behavior is absolutely disgusting, its 2019 already, but it would explain why the majority of the bar customers were white. The bar was clearly trying to protect their other customers from discomfort. And to the bar’s partners: if you sell your local beer at this bar then I hope you realize this is the reputation this bar is setting for your company so I might reconsider your partnership. We will not be returning and have recommended the same for all of our UNL friends.
