Mid-Day lunch was delicious. Ordered their 'special of the day' sandwich as was delighted by its unique flavor. Buttermilk-fried chicken breast sandwich with pickled cabbage slaw, melted jack cheese and side of garlic mashed potatoes. Also enjoyed the friendly wait staff, even those who were new and going through training. Keep up the good work

I do enjoy this place but this time ordered the fish tacos and did not enjoy them so much. It is 2 small taco shells with 2 large pieces of breaded and fried fish. I had to remove the breading off the fish to make this appetizing. If I had wanted deep fried fish I would have ordered the fish and chips. Wish this would have simply been fish tacos with no deep frying involved.

Solid restaurant, my favorite is the linguine and clams, the salmon and their french dip sandwich. Good menu, lively atmosphere, good service. Try the calamari, it's tasty. Good mule cocktails. Surprisingly cool, despite being in a dated mall location.

We sat at the bar and ordered beers and food. Food was good. They have employees that sit at the bar and talk R+ rated. I am a woman and wasn't too happy with the profanity used in their discussions. Maybe the employees shouldn't sit so close to the customers that can overhear them.

We have been regulars at the bay for over 13 years. Lately, in the last 4 weeks, service is terrible, food is late or forgotten, overpriced and over cooked. This is SO sad because we loved coming to the Bay. Kids cheeseburger is $8.50 now, and is half the size it was before. We sat at our table for 15 minutes before anyone greeted us, then drinks came 15 minutes after that and so on... Both bathrooms were completely out of toilet paper. What has happened to one of our favorite restaurants? We can not come back

First time there. We waited in the casino for our table & only took 20 mins,we were told an hour. The food was excellent and the service was top notch! Will definitely be going back!

The Bay was one of our favorite places to eat. It was my fiancé and I's go to place on date night. One of the best aspects of The Bay was that they made everything to order, so they could accommodate all kinds of allergies. Then they started cutting corners. They buy their food pre-made now (beef stroganoff), they changed their fryer oil to a cheaper highly processed soybean version, and they also switched their sauces from being made in house to pre-packaged... all to save a few pennies. In the process of saving pennies, they are losing dollars. I don't know how many times we would have purchased appetizers but couldn't because of soy allergies. Not only that, but they have lost us as regular customers. In an already saturated market, why would a restaurant lower the quality of their food? On a night out, I would rather spend $60 at Fresco, Saffron Table, Ale Works, or any number of higher end restaurants in town. I hope things get turned back around. Let us know when they do.

The service was the best part, very friendly, very prompt. The Calamari was chewy and looked like crumb leftovers. The small plate I had was not bad, but didn't know the steak and mushrooms would be swimming in gravy. The fish tacos were made very well, but dull in flavor due to the lack of sauce, and should be served with lime as well, that really is a minor hiccup. The establishment is really nice, I would try it a second time just in case it was one time meal disappointment. Again, your day shift employees were fantastic people. Thanks again.

My husband and I went here for a drink and possibly dessert. We were told we could sit anywhere but the server never so much as smiled in our direction much less make eye contact. My wine tasted bad (like it was a bad bottle) but I had to go up to the bar to fix it because the server never came back. One of the least friendly service staffs I've encountered in a while. My husband said that before we even went there but I made him come with me... Now I see what he means!

Great food!! 3rd time in a month been turned down from placing a lunch order to go from 12-2 because their just too busy and order has been screwed up at least twice in a couple months that is when I’m allowed to order, also they can’t figure out how to answer phones been hung up on multiple times so disappointed been a customer for years!!!!!!

The waitress said my meal was 30, I gave a fifty and got 7 dollars back in change. I don’t know how this kind of mishap happens but when I complained the manager said it was my fault. Food wasn’t bad but it was not worth losing money. I’m also not the only one, I read some other reviews and apparently people in large groups have had trouble when it comes to money. This includes being told they paid less than they did and being given less change than they need. I wouldn’t go here again and if you are looking for a place to bring a large group of people don’t go here.

Eh, just a so so place. While my chicken teriyaki salad was very nice, my dining partners chicken tacos were a mixed bag. The taco was good, but the side dishes were not worth eating. The beans were actually undercooked. Restaurant is clean, there are many tables, even some outside. The service was fine.

Used to be a family FAVORITE. Between the changes in customer service, menu, and food quality. Nope. Mac and Cheese is awful now- it’s like a watered down Alfredo, used to have so much flavor. Used to be on the small plates. Not “kale and pork belly.” The fries have gone through NUMEROUS awful changes. Thankfully they still have dragon tenders and buffalo tenders. Hopefully those stay the same- and STAY on the menu. Last good meal I had there I believe, Connor was a manager. They run everyone off. Joey the server I think her name is- RUDE. Wouldn’t recommend her at all. I just want the food quality back. People will deal with rude servers if the food is worth it, can’t even say that anymore. Bring back the old Bay!!

We were very excited to go to the Bay tonight for dinner. We have been once before and the food and service was excellent. Unfortunately we cannot say the same tonight. The service was slow and just didn't seem to really be there. I asked for a straw for my drink at least 3 times. Then when our orders came out, the huckleberry burger was not cooked as asked and they forgot the sauce (huckleberry bbqs buger). We asked and got some on the side. My order had a HAIR wrapped around it! When the server asked how our food was I told him about the hair, and he just replied "okay". So the hair sat there while I ate the rest of my food. Then a man came out in a button up shirt, I think the manager he didn't introduce himself, and asked how things were and we told him about the hair, he took it with the piece of food and never returned. Our waiter offered us a dessert to make it right and so we said yes. It was very good dessert. But our 3 year old sons kids meal came with a sundae, and we asked for it when we got our dessert, the waiter said he would go grab it. Then next time he came out he brought us the check and no Sundae. So we just skipped it rather than wait around for it again. The food, other than the undercooked burger, and the hair in the other meal. It all tasted good. The calamari state was horrible, better last time we visited. And well, definitely not good service. For the price, I dont think we will ever be back.

A local favorite, despite it feeling a bit worn in after over a decade anchoring the quieter corner of the mall. I LOVE the French onion soup and visit once a month to enjoy it with a cesar salad. Lettuce wraps with teriyaki chicken are so good! The pot roast.... delectable

If I could do zero stars I would. Our service was horrendous. Our original waitress couldn’t even feign friendliness. Her shift ended in the middle of our visit and we then had no server and were completely forgotten about. We then asked for one, the manager Travis was completely unprofessional, rude, and passive aggressive. Rather than apologize that they had forgotten about us, he then turned the situation around on us. You can see he is someone that does not take pride in his employment and it showed. We were literally astounded and frankly confused at how rude and unprofessional he was when it was unwarranted. We are about the easiest going group of people and we used to frequent this establishment but will never return. There are much better places with better service in Bozeman so we will not be wasting our time here again. ***Response to Kurt, I support the “No Serve” policy as well. However, it was unwarranted. The individual in our group that was told he would not “be served” had very little to drink due to the poor service and the fact that we were completely forgotten about, as mentioned. Unless he somehow became intoxicated on water. Actually, we didn’t even have water because we had ZERO service. I wish I would have looked at the amount of negative reviews prior to going to this establishment.

We've stopped by The Bay several times, over the years, when we pass through Bozeman. Yesterday, on our way home, we realized it had been awhile, so we decided to swing in for late lunch / early dinner. Turned out to be a good call. We arrived around 4pm. We were greeted & seated immediately. We were the first table to be seated in the Dining Room. Our server, Jillian, stopped in several times to check on us, as we settled in. It took us around 20 minutes to actually get to the point of placing our food order. Jillian was patient & very helpful with suggestions & recommendations. Since it was Happy Hour, we opted to get some apps & a drink. Here's the run down: I ordered a Moscow Mule & The Wife ordered a Strawberry Martini. Both drinks were very tasty & presented well. Shrimp Wontons: Crispy, nice temp on arrival, lots of cream cheese, decent amount of shrimp. Both sauces were great. Overall these were really good. Chicken Sliders: Awesome app! There's a ton of flavor packed into these little cluckers. The texture was perfect & the chicken was moist. Home Run! House Made Chips & Onion Dip: Mixture of potato & beet chips. Chips were just a smidge over cooked. Not much, but just. We all liked them & the Onion Dip was quite good. Little Guy really liked these chips. Dragon Tenders: We got 1/2 Buffalo & 1/2 Dragon. The chicken was cooked well, both sauces were great. Wife said Buffalo won, but I'm on Team Dragon. The Ranch & Blue Cheese which accompanied the tenders were both top notch. Probably the best Blue Cheese I've had, at this level of restaurant. Little Guy opted for the Cheese Pizza from the Kid's Menu. He loved it! This kid knows his Pizza, so take notice. Kid's meal comes with an Ice Cream Sundae, which he enjoyed as well. The Space: I wish I had better news here. The Dining Room is in need of an immediate update. The tables are very worn, the carpet (yes carpet), in the Dining Room is tired & homely & the driftwood on the ceiling, of the Dining Room, is just nasty looking. Wife said the Ladies restroom needed a custodial visit. The better news is this: None of these things equate to what's on the plate. However, they still should be addressed. Service: I'm just gonna say it, Jillian has been the best server we've had in Montana, in at least a year or two. She was on top of her game & we noticed. A+ If you appreciate a Veteran Server, who knows how it's done, ask to be seated in her area. I almost forgot to mention, the Manager also stopped by our table to ask how everything was. Definitely not worth it. Started with a $10 app that was a hand full of calamari, barely was an app for more than 1-2 people. My father in laws steak was raw when he requested med-well, and it took so long for the waiter to even bother to check on us we had to take the steak up to the wait station to get it fixed. The fix was still super rare but he decided to just take what you get. The fish and chips were soggy and the fish was barely cooked. And the black bean burger might as well have been steamed, for how mushy it was. Spent nearly $80 on a disappointment. Save your money.

Food & service was ok. As our group was moving on out it seems that 3 out of 10 guests had issues with their cash. We were not aware that there’s an automatic gratuity added to your bill for groups, so we had tipped on top of the 18% atomic gratuity. Each of us was owed just a little change, ($.70 to $8.00) but not enough to really fuss over. The one person that asked about it was told that they had paid $60 not $65. With all the cash in a pile there was no way to prove what you actually paid. Two others in our group said that they always double check their bills even when it’s a single bill because of previous issues. Use plastic if you go there.

My burger was fine and my friends food was good. However, the service was absolutely awful. Some of the worst service that I’ve had in Bozeman and I am a fellow food service employee so have some patience when it comes to this. My drink sat up at the bar (made) for over 10 minutes and we were the only table in the restaurant at the time. Our server was Evan and seemed more interested in other coworkers at the restaurant than helping us. Was my first time here and don’t think I will be frequenting this place very often.

The Bay has been one of our favorite places in Bozeman for years. The shrimp wontons are a favorite. It seems like the menu has gotten a bit stale lately, and needs an update, otherwise 5 Stars.
