This Restaurant belongs to the category of American restaurant.
Very good homestyle food. Decent prices for West Yellowstone. Service was good despite being busy and only one server. Very nice staff. I'd say best meal we had in W. Yellowstone. We highly recommend the hot beef or hot turkey dinners.
It was great, Great custumer survice
Good food and great homemade desserts.
Great little spot!
Our family of four arrived just as the place opened. We were welcomed with warm smiles and plenty of cheer :) I ordered two eggs, buscuits & gravy, hashbrowns, and one apple cinnamon pancake. Needless to say my meal was a large portion and very hearty! All of our meals were well-served and more than filling andndndnd enjoyable for a about $13 +/-. Will we return: YES!
Good good and service!
Had French dip meat was warm not enough dip. 2 little boys running around. NOT a place for me to eat at that price. Will not be back.
One of the better restaurants in Town. Good portion of tasty food for a reasonable price in a resort town.
We came here twice and had a wonderful experience both times. The food was excellent and the staff was so pleasant. We really appreciated our server Spencer who was just so kind and attentive. Thank you!
Great food. Large quantity that we shared. They split our breakfast onto separate plates. The waiter, Spencer, was charming and attentive. He offered us info on Yellowstone activities. Highly recommend breakfast here.
Super friendly, welcoming and just overall a wonderful place to come eat. Food was wonderful and the service was perfect. Will definitely be back next year when on vacation again.
The salad out of the bag was even marginal. But the silver ware in the bag was clean. There must be better places to eat in West.
Good food good service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We spent a week in Yellowstone. We ate here our 1st night and enjoyed the food so much that we want back again later in the week. Really good food and fast service. Their fries are to die for. They are way better that any other fries that I have ever eaten!
Great service and the atmosphere perfectly matched the surrounding area and activities. We'd just finished the walking tour in West Yellowstone, ending with the museum, and this place was recommended to us by one of the museum people. It did not disappoint! It was a little on the spendy side, but the food tasted good and the portions were satisfyingly large.
Great food, ambiance and service.
Friendly staff, but food is sub par at best, and over priced for quality and quantity. Wife got seriously sick, and it was the only place we ate.
Said it was open on google but got there and they were closed.. if ur gonna be closed please edit it on here so everyone knows before they make the drive
Great food and service!!!! Reasonably priced.
Great food and service.
Great breakfast. Big portions!
Good for breakfast just before entering Yellowstone NP from the west side
Food was good but the two female waitresses were not pleasant. One was outright snoody. She made the comment that they are busy and short-handed and turned around and walked off. Never came back to wait on us. A young male waiter finally came over and was very pleasant.
Lovely place, nice staff and delicious food
Friendly, efficient staff and rustic atmosphere.
First off I use to own a Cafe. I am not normally someone who writes reviews. I know you can't please everyone but, if this wasn't the worst meal I have ever had it was close. My wife and I were in yesterday and I ordered the chicken fried steak, eggs over medium, sour dough toast. when my plate arrived my eggs were kind of buried under the potatoes, chicken fried steak was buried under a mountain of gravy (that just tasted like flour). Dug my eggs out to find they were over cooked, brown, and rubbery. took a bite out of chicken fried steak and about gagged, it almost tasted like liver. It was slimy, soaked in grease, jet black, but kind of cold. I really don't know how you could mess up a chicken fried steak this bad. Cold unbuttered bread is not toast. A plate of food is your business card and shows how much you care.
Great place!
I highly recommend the Old Town Cafe for breakfast. It is a super clean, charming historic restaurant. The waiters are really fun and friendly - fast too! My hubby had the ham and cheese omelet - which was served with real, homemade hash browns. I had the Apple Cinnamon Pancakes with the special hotcake drizzle - they were truly phenomenal. Normally, I can take or leave pancakes - but the real (and still crunchy and flavorful) apple slices combined with a yummy, cinnamony batter made these fantastic. The coffee was good too and they have plenty of half and half and real butter at each table so you don't have to skimp on anything. What a hidden gem in a town which has been hit or miss for us for food on past visits. Now I want to come back and see what the Old Town serves for dinner.
Courtney was an efficient and friendly server. The busser/greeter was lightning fast and wiped every surface 3 times. Excellent buffalo dinner.
This place gets 4 stars cause the fried chicken was top notch. Great crisp, golden brown chicken. Loved it. Others in my party were not particularly crazy about their orders. Chicken fried steak, chicken tenders, burger, salad... all so, so items. The fries were real good though; I had to try ‘em. The server was really attentive and very friendly. Overall, I give it 4 stars.... service and fried chicken!
This place gets packed...any time of day too. So that alone says to me that something good is going on. Word of mouth plus good food equals happy owners, I'm sure. We went for dinner but we had a big group and one of the big tables was being used by a couple. We didn't give up though. We came back for breakfast the next day and we're not disappointed. I had chicken fried steak, hash browns, gravy and pancake. I'm picky about my gravy being from the south and all.
I had the bison burger and it was delicious! Waitress was great and the service was very fast! Others in my party were pleased with their meals. Highly recommend this place.
Very good dinner and breakfast and for a tourist town fairly reasonably priced.
Awesome food. No-frills, no BS, just good comfort food. My husband had the fried chicken. It was crispy and delicious. My burger was flavorful and filling. The French fries are fresh! Try the huckleberry soda, it’s yummy! Good prices, busy dining room but prompt service. Highly recommended!
Great food. Wonderful friendly service
Restaurant doesn't open until 8am. Only place to find that out is written on the menu once you're already at the building!!! Lost our business for sure!
Great service, very good food. Homemade soup and pie were excellent. Chili and hamburger were good to very good. This is not a sophisticated culinary town, so you have to manage your expectations. The staff were numerous and very accommodating (1/2 slice each of apple and cherry pie priced as one slice - you won't find many places to do that! ).
Best place in West Yellowstone Montana. Great serves
Hands-down this was the best restaurant we ate at during our weeklong stay in West Yellowstone. Our dinner was so good that we returned the following morning for breakfast. You must order the apple cinnamon pancakes! We even bought a bottle of the flap – jack drizzle to bring home. I highly recommend this place!
Hair in soup...not much of an apology. .and purchased their most expensive steak and it had lots of gristle. ...would not go back..too many other options in town
Good food, nice portions, friendly staff.
Quickest place to get a decent burger in town. Got the buffalo and it was great. Seated and food on my plate within 10 minutes. It was way better than waiting 30 minutes to be seated elsewhere.
My husband and I both ordered Veggie Omelets (came with hash browns and toast). All food was severely lacking salt and pepper and my omelet was overcooked for my preferences.
Good breakfast. Nice folks.
Hearty, good food. Lovely rustic setting. Great service
Great place for lunch food was good prices were very reasonable
Food delish and servers top notch :)
Very nice, help great. Lunch menu could offer a fish dish with veggies that not a gumbo or sandwich.
Great little place with good food at good prices for the town.
The staff were friendly and polite. Our server Colton was the best. The food was excellent and tasty.
Great food. This was a good respite from a long day in Yellowstone Park. Thanks for the relaxing atmosphere.
Quaint
Big plate of food. Decent price. Service pretty good
Great service, pretty good food. We needed a quick take out meal and they had our meal ready in 5 minutes. I recommend their gravy which had some apple and cinnamon hints in it.
Was recommended by a local. Good home cooking with reasonable prices. Friendly staff
Great food!
We tried this place for breakfast after our motel manager recommended it. They had the best pancakes and eggs we've ever tried. We liked it so much that we returned the next morning! The service was pretty good both times but they were very busy around 8 am so we returned at 7 the next morning. Highly recommend going early.
Surly staff, no smiles, seemed to be lacking in patience. Visited on a Monday morning, bout 9am. The place was packed, had to wait on a table about 10 minutes, very uncomfortable standing over other diners trying to eat their breakfast. Food was fair, not bad, but nothing to write home about. Decent menu variety but delivery was haphazard.
Love the food and the service and the charm!! Decor is rustic. It's a family run restaurant. Sons working tables, mom in the kitchen. Men could be dad and maybe uncle's. Very nice place.
Great food, atmosphere, service
Awesome place to eat
Still an authentic, nice place
Dropped in for breakfast one morning. Food was delicious and reasonably priced for West Yellowstone. Came back again in a day or two for dinner. I had chilli that appeared homemade. My cousin had the Turkey sandwich with as much gravy as he wanted. He said it was delicious as well.
Stopped in for a quick lunch and drink. Food was great and service was awesome. Our server Courtney was amazing. Will be back!
Breakfast was awesome, love the Apple Cinnamon Pancakes with the FLAPJACK DRIZZLE AMAZING
We really enjoyed this Cafe for breakfast! We had breakfast here twice and both times the food was great and so was the service!
Service at first was slow, waitress finally came over, very sweet girl but she had too many tables. Food was average, my husband had steak, said it was only fair, baked potato not done, still a bit hard.
Great food! The biscuits and gravy was amazing!
Great food. Friendly servers and atmosphere. Unique decor.
The fish and steak were great, sides tasted like they came out of a can. For more than $20 per plate I expect fresh veggies.
We went for breakfast and it was excellent. Probably one of the best reasons to stop just before going into the park.
The food was wonderful and the service even better
A lot of West Yellowstone restaurants closed early in June. We found this one open. It was really busy. The food is just okay, not bad and not super good. They seemed to have hired young adults that do not speak English very well for the summer. It was not easy to communicate. If nothing else is open after a long day in Yellowstone, it will do. The bathroom was not the cleanest.
Superb service. AMAAAAZING bison burger and fries. Don't miss this place!
The chili, beans, and gravy? Straight from a can. The meat? Frozen. The price? Straight from a real restaurant. Save yourself $20 and go straight to the grocery store across the street and borrow someone elses' microwave. The entire time we were there, the staff were having some loud conversation among themselves, which continued long after our meal was over. Being one of three customers at the time, I should have known better. I went here only remembering how great they were a few years ago. That has certainly changed. I will not return.
I found a hair on my food! When I told the waitress she pretty much made a joke about it!! And did not offer to discount or refund. Other than that disgusting experience, I feel the burgers are small the fries are stale and the entire thing was overpriced. Paid $32 for a small buffalo burger and fries.... oh n Also the HAIR!
Found nothing above at best average but dang you should plan for 30 apiece for most meals
Really fantastic food, and great service. I felt very welcome there.
Good breakfast and good service
One of the best places to eat in Yellowstone. Nice friendly atmosphere and the pancake drizzle is amazing.
Excellent food great atmosphere, loved it
Really nice place to have traditional food. The buffalo ribeye it is the best, unfortunately service was not good
Great service, home cooking fast breakfast good quality.
This place is would gag a starving racoon. By the look of it, the salad bar was hastily assembled from the remnants of grocery store dumpster. My wife and I both ordered steaks, under the highly faulty assumption that it's nearly impossible to make a bad steak. Mine came out tasting like the accumulated grit, char, and soot of ten thousand poorly cooked meals. It was as if the cook cleaned the grill back in 1992 and decided it was good forever after. Both steaks came with a mysterious side of soup or chili or something which had the the look of something a baby spit up. Oddly enough the only thing that was good were the French fries. Really they were quite excellent. So if you are hungry for a big pile of french fries and nothing else, I can recommend this spot. Otherwise, if you find yourself in West Yellowstone and walk past the the Old Town Cafe and think it looks like a charming local spot, don't be fooled. Run for the love of your wallet and your family's digestive tract. I realize I sound like one of those jerks who can never find something nice in a restaurant, but I'm not. I live by the adage if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all, but this place was so bad I felt I was duty bound to protect the public from the horror that is The Old Town Cafe.
Hit traffic out of the Park, starving. They let us in even though they were closed. Food was great, fast, fresh mashed potatoes and fries. Steaks cooked perfectly, attentive wait staff.
Rustic restaurant in West Yellowstone. Family business serving locals and tourists alike with great breakfast meals like eggs and bacon, eggs and sausage and more. try one of their biscuits, lightly toasted and served warm, they are good!
Stopped here for lunch as we came into West Yellowstone. Spenser did a great job with his recommendations. My husband and son had buffalo burgers with chili, my daughter-in-law had a French dip and I had the specialty grilled cheese on wheat with a cup of chili. Love supporting locally owned restaurants when we travel, and this one hit all the right notes. PS - Spenser said his mom’s chili was amazing and his uncle’s chili was “good and ok.” Lol. He let us taste the chili (his uncle’s at our visit), and his uncle’s chili was great, and we all agreed that we would have loved to have tried his mom’s chili!!
Before venturing into Yellowstone, we came upon this charming cafe advertising buffalo burgers. We decided to have lunch there and it was a great experience! Not only was the Buffalo burger delicious, the wait staff were charming and informative! The next day we stopped for breakfast and it was equally good!
Had good Buffalo Rib-eye, and buffalo rice soup. Tasty!
Steak full of nerves, mashed potatoes from a packet, cutlery placed on 1 side of table next top some still wet glasses. It not even a cheap place. Would have had better food at McDonald's.
Breakfast till noon! Service was good at 11 am on Thursday. Had a great meal of gravy on a biscuit with eggs and hash browns. Good gravy on an excellent biscuit.
you have to try the flap - jack drizzle!! service and atmosphere is amazing!
Very clean, staff is friendly and food is great.
Good food, just tell them how you want your burger cooked when ordering. Tasty food that won't break the bank.
Great service and good food.
Had breakfast this morning. The eggs were cold but ok. Went back for dinner. Steak was over cooked and tuff. The salad was a joke and the green beans were straight from a can. 25 bucks for a crappy meal. Gushers was way better.
Good food. We had the buffalo burgers. Burger acceptable. Fries were average. Price was ok for West Yellowstone. Place was packed but service was good.
Food was good old diner food. Wait staff was super fun and inviting. Price was respectable as well. I would definitely go back.
Nice breakfast.
Good food. Good prices.
Our waiter, Spencer, was amazing. The food was great. Buffalo burger was delicious. Definitely coming back during the next Yellowstone trip.
Great food and if you want a buffalo burgers
Excellent family run dining experience
Bison rib eye was great! Huckleberry margarita was yummy. And service was amazing! Will be back to try breakfast!
We ate here for dinner after driving around town and finally picking this cafe for the small town feel. Absolute worst customer service we've seen in a while. Meals are way over priced for what you get and what they taste like. We waited over 20 minutes to get a refill on our drinks and there were a total of 3 other customers in the building. It's a cute restaurant, but I would definitely not recommend it.
The open face turkey plate is fabulous. Ate here 2 nights in a row and they did not disappoint.
Great little place to eat..
You need to.try the Flap Jack Drizzle. It is great on the pancakes, biscuits, or in place of creamer in your coffee.
We stop by about every 3 weeks since april.breakfast only, thank see you next trip.
Dropped in at 3:00 in the afternoon for a cup of coffee and some pie. The place was neat and fairly empty. The waitress was nice and brought the order. The coffee was old, and the pie was forgetable. It tasted like it was previously frozen and nuked in the microwave. I hope the rest of the menu is better. I'll never know, 'cause I won't be back.
Great food and service! Highly recommend this as a stop if you’re in the area.
Very good, pretty good size portions. Very friendly.
Been on a road trip for 2 weeks I have ate breakfast at a restaurant every day. This place is the nicest inside and on par with the little brown hen in Oregon for food quality. This place is worth stopping at
Awesome breakfast place great food and very polite staff.
Very enjoyable. Food excellent. Waiter extremely nice, got 5 very different orders with all stipulation correct. Nice atmosphere
Great dinner with small town charm. Food Is good, nothing extravagant. Prices are fine.
We tried three different places for breakfast in west Yellowstone ans this Came out as the Winner. Fantastic service, good atmosphere and good food.
Love this place great food low $ clean friendly staff the buttermilk syrup is to die for & owner's are from UT. as am I. But I would give them these ratings even if they were fellow utans
