This place is a great find. I'm traveling through Livingston and it did not show up when I typed in restaurants/food. But as I drove by the signs for fresh food caught my eye. I'm glad it did. A chicken breast and soup was the perfect lunch. Great ambiance. Love the quality and that you can buy food/salads by the pound. Wish we had you guys in Billings.

I had lunch here. The food looks and is fresh, healthy and delish! I had the Pot Pie and the Italian sandwich. Enjoyed it very much. I would come here again.

Four of us stopped by for a quick lunch on September 19th on our way to Yellowstone Park for lunch on a whim. What a treat this find was! The atmosphere was inviting and the staff, happy to serve customers. The cafe had an uninterrupted flow of locals and visitors giving the place a nice buzz. The food was the best surprise, simple yet very tasty. From the bison Meatloaf to the sandwiches and soups, there was nothing that was wanting. The pastries and stuffed hot buns were fantastic! We ended up buying some more to take with us. If you are planning to go to Yellowstone, it is worth your while to make a detour and to stop in Livingston at this cafe. It is a hidden gem. Would come back to Montana just to eat there again. S & C.

It was excellent. The food was delicious. I had a chicken pot pie with a delicious side salad. My wife had the Buffalo meatloaf Burger tasted it was delicious. Highly recommend people to go eat there.

I almost don't want to say how much we love this fine restaurant, fearing that it may become too popular. It deserves to be. The consistently delicious food, the fresh ingredients, attentive friendly service, and local atmosphere make it among SW Montana's best. We love this place. And the cookbook has a lot to offer too.

If I could give another half star I would only because 5 stars are off the charts, but this place is a true gem in Livingston. Walking down the street a stranger directed us here and he didn't steer us wrong. A small but fresh and well prepared menu, good location in downtown Livingston, and artsy feel. Service was great, bistro atmosphere and quiet enough for good conversation. Our waitress gave us a bonus huckleberry bar to take home because we were too full for dessert. If you are debating 2nd Street Bistro or here, you will be very happy with Mustang!

Did not eat here, however the staff was extremely unfriendly and just rude. We sat down on their benches after they took the tables and cushion and posted their "closed" sign so we knew we wouldn't be interfering with any business or customers. Not even a minute after sitting down, a man and woman came outside. The man abrasively told us we couldn't smoke there although none of us were smoking. We tried to explain ourselves, then the women very rudely told us we needed to get up and leave because the benches were "for the staff". Which makes no sense at all. If that's how they treat people that are simply trying to get off their feet for a few minutes on 4th of July weekend, then I will never give them my business or recommend them to anyone. Very unfriendly.

Called in my order.. Ordered the veggie sandwich during my 10 hr road trip. Told them that I am vegan.. They said they would eliminate the tomatoe aioli and cheese and that they would substitute it with balsamic vinegar. Sounded delish! When I picked up my order I asked them why they are charging me more than the listed price.. I was told with attitude by the older blond lady that there is an extra charge for vegan requests. When it was time to eat my sandwich unfortunately.. They had added the aioli and did not put the balsamic vinegar instead. Unfortunatley I could not eat my sandwich. I was surprised by the great reviews on here due to the fact that not only did they mess up my order and I couldn't eat it but I was also given attitude. I will not recommend this place nor will I go back there. Very disappointed with the service and couldn't even eat the sandwich I paid almost $10 for. Terrible experience all around!

Just happened upon this Gem in Livingston, Montana. Had one of the best meals I have ever had. From Philadelphia where food is very important. Not good you don't last. This was amazing, from the homemade bread with shallot butter to me he goat cheese cheese cake. Everything was perfectly cooked and presented, most importantly fresh. I will think about this dinner for some time. Wish I had gotten the cook book the owner wrote.
