Very nice environment. Everyone was very nice. Small menu but awesome food
Good food and lovely atmosphere. They have beautifully refreshed an historic restaurant, while keeping it true to its origins.
Good food. Lots of variety. Reasonably priced.
If you’re taking a person you hate on a date, this is the place for you. Worst experience of all times. The manager is the definition of Incompetent management. Three waitresses, a useless manager/host and one bar tender for the entire place on a busy holiday weekend night. (Friday, July 5th) We saw one table get up and walk out shortly after we ordered our drinks. We should have followed their lead. No joke. One glass of house red wine, and two cocktails, one ice tea and 3 kids drinks took 50 minutes to come out. Our kids did not get their drinks until we did. One cocktail was made incorrectly TWICE. It was a double Tanqueray on the rocks with four olives. How hard is that??? The useless manager brought my martini. He spilled a quarter of it on the table as he held it by the lip of the martini glass. Oh, and this was about five minutes after we watched him lick his fingers to separate some menus. So his nasty spit fingers gripped my martini glass by the rim. I would normally have sent back, but since it had already been 50 mins, I wiped it off and hoped the alcohol killed any of his germs. Two members of our party ordered appetizers as their meals. One, the Wings were the last to be brought out. Burned and after everyone else was already completely FINISHED with their meal. The other appetizer meal just never came. So one member of our party literally got zero dinner. We had been in there for over an hour and a half with no one clearing plates, dishes, empty glasses, or checking on the quality. The manager walked past our table at least five times and did not take a dish, refill a water glass, or help his waitresses run plates. We asked the waitress to take the missing meal off the bill. She didn’t and brought the check out. We paid for it anyway because it was too annoying to wait for her to fix it. Manager roamed around the restaurant and did not help the wait staff at all. We actually started an entire conversation about what he was doing...literally nothing besides wandering around. We decided he’s really good at faking being busy. He walked back and forth between the bar and he host stand. That’s it. This place sucks and I would run far away before trying. So, if you have to take someone you hate to dinner, take them to the Livingston Bar and Grill.
Awesome setting, attentive service, great food, tasty cocktails....highly recommend! Flatiron was prefect temperature. Short ribs were a hardy portion in a thick stock of roasted vegetables. Will definitely be back!
My husband and I were invited to a birthday dinner party here and really enjoyed everything! The food was great, prices are very affordable , and the added live music was a nice touch!! we will be back!
I ordered queso and chips for an appetizer, the chips broke when I tried to dip the chips in it., It was so cold. The Nacho's were so col,d the cheese wasn't even melted. The waitress was kind and adequate. She. Competed the meal but I went there to eat in company
Great atmosphere, unpretentious and easygoing place. Service was good, food was fair.
The nachos and pretzel bites are delicious!
Excellent food, excellent service, good prices, cold beer what more could you ask for? Old time Montana atmosphere. Absolutely the best carrot cake I have ever had. One portion is enough for two people or the table.
This restaurant has reopened after a couple of years and under new ownership. We visited on July 15 2018; my fiance and I took her mother and grandmother for dinner, and it did not disappoint. The 1901 bar has been opened up to the entire room, and what a difference that makes, it is truly gorgeous. We were warmly greeted and seated in the dining room to the left. Our server was friendly and accommodating. The menu is designed for "sharing", and we ordered a number of different items including a huge platter of Nachos, BBQ Lamb Meatballs, Chicken Wings (BBQ and Buffalo style), and what they call "Crispy Deviled Eggs", a really unique presentation. EVERYTHING was outstanding! We also had a bottle of French rose, which at $20 was an incredible value. After next splitting a Signature Cheeseburger (cooked perfectly, which is hard to find these days it seems), we ordered FOUR desserts (the mom and grandmother enjoy taking home leftover desserts apparently!). ALL were a hit, but the days dessert special, a Huckleberry Semifreddo, was the winner. When presented the check, we had to review it to see if something had been left off, because all of this food and wine came to only $80 for all four of us! Highly recommended and we will return.
Wasnt bad. Pricey
Place is nice but food was so-so, my salmon was dried, and portion was very small, it came like with 5 tiny asparagus and small side of some winter vegetables puree, which was the tastier part of my dish. My husband fish and chips only came with two pieces of fish and few fries. My son macaroni and cheese was the tastier dish.
Very quality food and excellent service in a beautiful historic building downtown.
Expensive, but excellent food and drink.
Generous drinks, delicious meal appetizers and desserts
This place is just fabulous! From the old world, warm decor, to the delightful, welcoming staff and the yummy food this place makes any trip to Livingston better. Chuck, the owner, has done such an incredible job creating this true gem.
Great food, gotta try the crispy deviled eggs!
was a high quality place
The Main & Park Grilled Cheese at the newly reopened Livingston Bar & Grille takes grilled cheese to a new level with house-made pimento cheese, aged white cheddar and brie. The Killer Carrot Cake definitely lives up to its name.
Nice, quiet atmosphere, friendly staff and GREAT food. Highly recommended.
Great service. Great food.
Ate at the new bar and grill...Amazing!!! Had the nachos for an app and wow!! So delicious!! After that my mum got a burger which was honestly one of the best we have ever had!! I got the sweet potato brucetta and YUM!! After the food we were recommended by our wonderful server Martina to try the special desert of huckleberry semifreddo with an apple and mint type salad on the top and that blew us away as well!! The chef knows what’s going on and on top of that the service was ace and even got to meet the owner who was such a nice guy!!! I would recommend this little gem to anyone!!!
Last week, friends with connections in the music business visited from Nashville. We were looking for something new and exciting. Decided on the Livingston Bar & Grill for a burger and drinks. While we were enjoying good conversation and refreshments, our Nashville Guests looked up and almost fell out of their chairs when they saw county music singer and song writer Paul Overstreet at the door. Our guests could not believe their good fortune! Great Food and Drinks, Good Friends and an occasional Nashville Legend. Our "new" favorite spot!
Great food, atmosphere and fabulous wait staff.
Delicious seafoods, elegant atmosphere shows wood works and friendly attendants.
Very friendly service. Food is excellent. Menu has some very interesting variations. We have been twice with 5 people eating different menus. All very good!
Great outdoor seating. Very relaxing atmosphere. Enjoyed the food.
Horrible timing on getting food out & poor management. The manager sat at the bar the entire time except for greeting people at the door. He sat and chatted it up with the bartender or was on his phone while our drinks sat there in front of his face for 10 minutes. Our waitress (Sarah) ran around so much and ran food for herself with NO help at all. She was fantastic and honestly it would have been 1 star if it hadn't been for her or the food tasting good. Someone came in after us and got their food before, along with getting their drinks quicker. We did complain to our waitress but the manager didn't come to apologize or offer to compensate. He actually walked right by us and asked everyone else in the restaurant if their food was okay. He clearly avoided us and as a manager you can't avoid confrontation. It's something you have to deal with unless you're actually running the place the way it should be ran. It was so sad to see our waitress getting no help and witness the horrible management. I've never felt so disrespected or discriminated against in a restaurant until now. I also posted a photo (best I could get) of the manager propped up at the bar with our drinks in front of him. This was again after 10 minutes of them being poured! I hope the owners take bad reviews serious. He needs to be let go soon or the restaurant will fail if he sticks around! With it being historic, I wish it would have been a better experience. Thanks for the horrible experience.
Fabulous deck with wonderful food (gluten free options) great service. Perfect 10
really good food!
Good food and atmosphere. Good prices and very clean. Great fish and chips.
We had a great lunch here, good food, and nice outdoor patio dining.
Best burgers
This restaurant is closed. It's a shame, because the place has been a mainstay downtown for a long time and a destination for many people including anglers, and tourists, and during the filming of A River Runs Through It. And what is really frustrating is that the extremely wealthy owners will not keep it open, and they will not sell it. They seem not to realize the importance of this place for the community and the downtown economy. We only have so many prime locations in downtown Livingston, and this is one of them. To have this place closed with the owners not even willing to sell it to someone who could run it properly is a sad situation.
This place was great. The food is amazing, great staff, fast service would definitely go back.
Nice menu, nice prices. Good wine selection. Excellent service.
We ate here for dinner on our way through town on a weeknight. We received prompt service and the local beer options were great! No kids menu, but the kitchen kindly modified a few options to suit our kids lack of a refined palate. They ate more than they ever have before at a restaurant! Our burgers were great too and the prices very reasonable.
An iconic Livingston Building has a wonderful restaurant and bar...finally! The ambiance and architecture alone is worth a visit for a drink or delicious and very reasonably priced meal. The servers and staff were outstandingly attentive, and the atmosphere was one of comfort and enjoyment. We will be back to support the new owner, Chuck, and chef Brendan in their endeavor.
Good food
Outstanding food and service. Thanks Ashley!
Good food, but limited menu. Was a nice place to stop on our way to yellowstone.
My companion and I had dinner at LB&G a week ago and we were over whelmed by the service and food. The nachos were beyond amazing as was the flat iron steak.Pricing is right on for Livingston and I certainly hope Livingstonites will support the new owners especially during the winter when tourism is off. I believe the LB&G finally has a long term future. Lastly it would be good if the negative reviews from past owners could be removed.
A charming restaurant that does a great steak. I ordered mine rare but it was actually served medium-rare, which was probably a better choice for that cut as it tastes excellent. I had enjoyed it with a point of local beer (Katabatic honey ale) For dessert, the chocolate torte which was also very tasty The aspect that stood out the most was the bartender/waitress. Not only did she do an excellent job, but I saw her make a wide range of cocktails for other guests who were all very pleased with the result.
Nice decor, friendly staff. And they have a nice bull elk head mounted, on the wall.
Good food, a bit upscale but not overly expensive. In a historic brick building. Friendly, but not fast service. Worth a visit for a relaxing meal. deviled eggs appetizer and salmon meal we're good. Also try the carrot cake if you have room
Absolutely amazing food!!! We had deviled eggs, bison meatballs, risotto, tomato bisque soup and really, after eating all over the US, it was to die for!
Food and atmosphere was great! Our waitress Ashley was very attentive! Great place!
superb best burger in the usa
Gotta try the Crispy Deviled eggs
Defiantly a disappointing visit. Came in with a party of 9. (perhaps should have had a reservation). Had to flag down the manager for seats. Took 15 minutes before drink orders were placed. 35 minutes total to get them. Server sounded quite confused and had to refer to the kitchen staff regarding what meals could be made vegetarian (heads up, if your menus advertise that the servers can demonstrate what meals are vegetarian, they should be able to at least recommend one dish). It was defiantly busier but no where near full occupancy. Prices are higher than your average sit down but understandable for Livingston's higher class food choices. Huge alcohol menu but not a ton of main entrees or appetizers. An hour past sitting down we found out the only two meals went to us by accident. Food arrived 80 minutes from sit down. 1 hour and 45 minutes later we all had our food... Except for one of our party. When mentioned to the waitress they did at least get it on as fast as possible. The Pasta Seluchi was decent but the pork sausage was very overpowering. Not bad but enough to make my sinus run. Eat here if you wish but heed a warning.
Food is super good, and wait staff is very nice!
From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a smile. Our server was wonderful and took very good care of us. Food was really good ad prices are acceptable.. Thanks for putting in the extra effort- it shows
Relatively newly reopened. Very nicely redone. Great upper-maidens menu. Friendly staff. Will be a regular for birthday and out of town visitors.
Amazing food and great service. Nachos are amazing, as are the desserts. Do yourself a favor and go.
The Livingston Bar & Grille is open under new management. The menu is fantastic, and completely affordable. The ambiance is fantastic, as the new owner has completely redone the interior, the Bar is stunning.. Service was wonderful and friendly. My flatiron steak was done to perfection.
Menu says best nachos in town and I agree. Upscale apps and entrees and amazing craft drinks.
The pork belly appetizer was amazing. Everything we ordered was presented well and tasted great.
Waitress slow, snobby? Ferris would say Snotyy?? Had to ask repeatedly for refills. Meal and deserts average, not exceptional. Would not return.
Six of us had a great dinner at the Livingston bar and grill last Saturday night. What a great space with a beautiful bar! Service was prompt and attentive, the signature cocktails were imaginative and tasty. All the food was creative and well prepared. The appetizers were unique—crispy deviled eggs are delicious BTW. The entrées offered a wide variety from basic bar food including an over-the-top cheeseburger with other burger options, and entrées that everyone at the table enjoyed from fresh Salmon to Flat Iron steak which was perfectly prepared. To finish off we sampled all three of the desserts which were great—nothing left over. My only wish is that Livingston was a little bit closer to Bozeman, so I could go there more often
Ashley was the greatest server. Friendly and great service. The food is a perfect 10.... The crunchy deviled eggs...the burger......perfect
Love the fried deviled eggs.
Lovely staff. Excellent food and service. Highly recommend.
Horrible service!
Awesome food, good drinks, and friendly service.
Great food but crowded
Great food, great service!!! All the staff members are super nice and they make the restaurant a very enjoyable place to be!! 5 stars and would recommend it to everyone.
Really enjoyed the food at bar and grille. We ordered different dishes and we were all very pleased. Highly recommended after a fishing day when you are hungry!
Management is top Shelf!
Very nice but inviting environment. The food is amazing and the staff is wonderful. They make you feel at home and remember you when you come back.
Great service, fabulous atmosphere.
Fantastic food excellent service
Outstanding!!
Great service, friendly owner and awesome food!!
It's only because they've recently re-opened that the LB&G isn't at the top of the social media list. For atmosphere, food, and value--nobody in Livingston can match them. Go.
Great atmosphere. Food and drinks were great and reasonably priced.
I hate to say it....there wasn't anything I liked about our over priced meal! Won't go back! If I'm going to spend $200.00 for a meal I should be able to order what I want....and if I've made reservations I should have been told that the menu was not what was advertised! Very disappointed!
Very Good meal and service!
Service was unsatisfactory, our waitress came to our table a total of 4 times during an hour and a half, 2 of which had to do with the bill. The food was over priced for what we received. Burgers were bland, iced tea was opaque & disgusting and our desserts were very disappointing. They were out of the carrot cake, so we ordered 2 blondies & 2 chocolate tortes; the blondies were both hard as a rock & the chocolate torte was okay. Building is very deciving...won’t be back.
Sturdy cocktail and hardy burger! Can’t go wrong.
This has been a lovely edition to the Livingston restaurant scene. Cozy and chill atmosphere in a beautiful, historic building. It's a great place to swing in for a cocktail. Tacos on Tuesdays are great deal and delicioso!
Slow service, ignored by waitress, was disappointed.
