My family came here to eat after being unexpectedly stuck in Billings for a couple weeks trying many different restaurants and cuisines. This restaurant by far was our favorite the lamb curry, tikka masala, and naan was AMAZING. WE LOVED THE FOOD, service was good, atmosphere was fine, but food was delicious we will definitely be coming back on any future trips to Billings!

I ordered food for delivery at 5:42 and didn’t get it till 7:56. After placing the order I get a text saying the restaurant was busy and would be delivered between 6:50 and 7:00. I thought that was fine I would wait. At 7:10 I call the restaurant wondering where my food is at. And the lady just said it was 5 minutes out, I thank her and hang up. 15 more minutes go by and still no food. I call again and she lets me talk to the owner who says “what do you want me to do? That order was done along time ago and I gave it to my driver?” He said he would call the driver and call me back. By this time I’m impatient and call him back because he didn’t call me like he said he would after talking to the driver. He just said the driver was having car problems and would be there soon. Finally the driver comes at 8 and says sorry about the wait. I said no worries car problems happen. Which she then gave me a funny look and said there was no car problems when I came to work my boss said take this delivery right away to the hotel. I’m so mad he straight up lied. I check my food which is cold and they were missing my chai tea. I call the owner again and said there was no car problems and confronted him about lying, my chai missing, and my cold food. I told him I wanted a refund or something to be done. He said he would refund me 40% and he would call me when it was done. He never refunded me and didn’t answer the phone when I tried to call before they closed. I’m not impressed in the least, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Billings is not known for international food, but India Grill makes good Indian food. It often has an all-you-can-eat buffet so that if you aren't as familiar with Indian food, you can try a little bit of it all to see what you like.

This used to be my favorite place for delicious Indian food. Unfortunately, due to a terrible experience, I will be taking my business elsewhere. My sister placed an order for takeout for me to pick up after work. I gave them my name when I got there, and was told that it wasn't quite ready yet. When it was ready, I paid (not knowing what was ordered or what the total should have been, because again, my sister placed the order), made a couple of stops on the way home, and finally got home with our meal. As soon as we started opening the boxes my sister knew it was not the correct order. I immediately called the restaurant and told them that they had given me the wrong order, despite having provided them with my name, which my sister had put our order under. I asked if I could bring the food back and get the correct order. The man on the phone said that it had been too long and the food they gave me was no good to them now (insinuating that had I brought it back earlier, they would've re-used it??), and that I paid for it, so, "it's not like you didn't get something that you paid for." I responded by telling him that, yes, I did pay for it, but it is not what my sister had ordered, nor was it what we actually wanted to eat. He said that they could take our order again and have me come back to get it, and pay the full price for it. This was their mistake for giving me someone else's food to begin with, and after a long day at work, I still offered to bring the wrong food back. They should have sent someone to my house with the correct order free of charge. I guess good customer service is just too much to ask for these days.

Coming from a city that has some of the best Indian food, I am very disappointed that this is all Billings has to offer. Went in for lunch buffet and they started taking down the food way before the buffet time was over but still charged me full price for food I did not get to have. The food is okay, but not the best Indian food I have had.

Above average. Staff could do better in the personal hygiene department though—many have really dirty fingernails. Cleanliness/Sanitation: The restaurant eating area is clean/sanitary but behind the counter needs a lot of work. Yes, the kitchen gets the job done but the owner needs to perk of the appearance. Recommend: I’d recommend this place for a decent, healthy meal.

My wife and I love this place. My friends love it and you will too. They also have a amazing lunch buffet. My favorite is the butter chicken curry. Also there deserts are really unique one is a caret and something, and a mango pudding. Give them a try it is good.

I came to India Grill on 9/8, during lunch, which is normally when you would get buffet, but I asked to order from the menu instead, as did my companion. I came seeking a good lamb vindaloo, so I wasn't really there for the buffet. The restaurant was empty when I arrived, and a few other patrons came after, but not many. The service was exceptional either way. I noted that the menu indicates that all dishes are mild unless ordered otherwise. I ordered lamb vindaloo, very spicy (I asked for very spicy, but I don't know if that makes a difference if you were to just ask for it to be spicy), with regular naan bread. The portion size that came was perfect and my vindaloo was delicious. It seemed like I had the perfect amount of naan for the vindaloo, which doesn't happen often when I eat at an Indian restaurant -- I either have too much or too little. My only complaint was that the lamb was a little gamy, and the true test of a restaurants lamb is how gamy it tastes. That being said, it was not too much, and I would order it again. Definitely a place to visit and I'll be back.

Everything about this restaurant is great. If you're afraid Indian food is too spicy they make most buffet dishes very mild, and unless you ask for extra spice all dishes are served mild off the menu. Great flavor. While the buffet is excellent I suggest you order off the menu from time to time, and I like to order it extra spicy. You get a consistent heat with lots of flavor and it is not too hot to eat. My wife and I switched one time by accident and she was still able to eat it. The lamb Royal Korma is to die for, it really is a great experience. You'll wonder how you ever got by without this delicious Indian food.

Perhaps I am biased as I haven't had Indian food before but this was terrible. $12 for a buffet of a couple different chicken or chick pea trays and rice and a small assortment of fruit and lettuce. I won't be back. Seemed very cheap, outside was very dirty etc.

Amazing to find good Indian hidden out in the middle of nowhere. Everything was top notch except for the chicken Tikka (dry one). It was rubbery. The other five dishes though were perfect and had tons of flavor and spice. Service was also great. No way I could drop a star for one minor thing. Not when the rest was stellar.

This restaurant may run on a skeleton crew and it's best to call to verify the hours if you're in doubt but compromising food quality is not an option for them and everything is made fresh to order. This includes a very wide selection of fresh-baked flatbreads and authentic ingredients such as large prawns .

Although the food on the buffet was tasty and well seasoned, it was cold and not served at temperature. The cold food was cold. The hot food was cool. And that was just 10 minutes after noon on a Friday...not the end or start of a lunch rush. Never mind a need for a deep cleaning and a face lift, one solid health inspection would shut this place down on the day we went. Not impressed. Much potential, but a cold buffet is a tad scary.

We ordered from here via the yelp app, a couple nights ago. The order arrived 1 minute, before the scheduled time. The order was also 100% accurate. Items were fairly warm. It was below 0 outside, so that was sweet (Awesome). What we ordered: Vegetable Samosa (Awesome - Delicious), Tandoori Chicken (Great - Cooked well & flavorful), Butter Chicken (Awesome - Buttery, Creamy & Super Flavor), Basmati Rice (Great - Nice Texture), Garlic & Basil Naan (Awesome - Out of This World), Papadam (Good - Not My Fav), Mango Lassi (Great) & Chai-Spiced Tea (Great). Delivery is quite often "hit or miss". India Grill "hit" a home run with our order! We will be back for sure. 4.3 STAR REVIEW

Can't believe we've lived here 2 years and nobody told us that this place was great til now! Our friend who has Indian family recommended, so we went ASAP. We asked for some recommendations and had some butter chicken and some okra with naan. They made the food spicy like we asked for; you can customize the spiciness level of the food! This was just as good if not better than Indian food I had in the bay area of California where competition is stiff. Go now. Don't think twice. Come visit me... I'm moving in!! Oh and bonus: they have alcohol too.

If you’ve never had good Indian food, then you won’t know how very mediocre this place is. The sauces are gritty, because they don’t prep them properly. There’s no distinctiveness in the flavor of very different dishes. And the service is terrible (e.g., toss the plates and silver on the table for you to set yourself.) Try something different, or set your expectations low.

The staff is super friendly and the food was delicious. They have good variety of food and have separated them for easier identification. One thing i loved was they have some good options for dessert. In Montana this is one of the Indian restaurants that offer desserts, so if you like sweet food i will recommend to go for dessert if not food. But having said that both food and dessert was great.

The owners are rude as hell. Food is undercooked or overcooked and stale. Out of 9 items that we ordered, only 2 items were presentable. Upon talking to both of them for 2 mins each, i realized it was a lost cause. I was born in india and lived there for 28 yrs of my life. That being said, i happen to know a few things about indian food and my heritage. Your restaurant is a disgrace to Indian food n culture. I m leaving this review after 3 days of my visit. So this is not out of spite or to bad mouth this place.

Giving it 4 stars. Thats an average of my opinion (5 stars) and my wife's opinion (3 stars) regarding the food, and then subtracting a star for pretty awful service and atmosphere. We had the Tikka Masala and the Chicken Saag, both of which I thought were fantastic, but my wife thought were both too salty. The naan is spot on, the veggie dishes were amazing (my parents had the veggie platter for 2), and the apps were good too. The atmosphere was pretty lame, and the service was super slow, but again, I thought the food made up for it and my wife didn't.
