Absolute hands down the best chicken around. It is all cooked fresh to order, and takes about 30 minutes. They do take call ahead orders, and do to-go orders as well.

The best fried chicken this side of the Mississippi. I recommend eating downstairs in the basement bar where they have the pool table. It does take about a half hour because every order is made fresh but it’s well worth it. The also do a great job on to go orders if you don’t want to take off yer sweat pants.

My husband and I went and ate here today and are both now suffering from it. They had good appetizers, good fries, a good chicken sandwich, ok fried chicken. The fried chicken is lacking in seasoning and flavor, cooked really well but I guess not well enough since we're both super sick from it or something else we ate here. The service was mediocre. We'll not be going back or recommending this to our friends and family "maybe people we don't like vary well". EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

We have been ordering from here for 20+ years, it has become a family tradition. We have gotten some badly made food at times, but we continued to eat here, because when it is done right it is worth it! However, we ordered a pick up order tonight and the girl that answered the phone Marcy was extremely rude! Apparently letting her know for what time and asking for a total was to much. And in the end she hung up on me after telling me my total of 51.50. We'll not be ordering from Double Front any more... Chancing badly made food and rude service, nope.

A fantastic Restaurant to eat at. The employees are very friendly and will do anything to make your meal a plesent one. I have been eating there some 20 years and believe it or not I have not had one bad experience. I highly recommend The DOUBLE FRONT CAFE. I'm sure you will see me there.

If you love chicken, this is the place. No better chicken ANYWHERE!!!! That includes YOU South! Crispy skin, and hot and juicy meat..... Heaven! PS. Anyone that complains about the cold food has obviously never eaten here. Food cooked to order and customer warned a 25 minute wait awaits you. Call when on the way to avoid a long wait

Everything is made to order, but it's so bland. It normally takes around twenty minutes for the food to come, which is fine, but it's not worth the wait. It's fairly overpriced. Their sides are all frozen things things that can be picked up from Cash and Carry. Fries are good though. I just expect more at the price point and wait.

Definitely a step up from deli fried chicken, but I don't know if it was worth the price, definitely call ahead before coming in, there is a 30 minute wait but there service is fantastic!

Getting food at Double Front is challenging. The best strategy is to call in the order ahead of time and be prepared for a half hour wait (when slow) to very long. In fairness, that's the cooking time of the chicken, so there's no reason to blame the restaurant. As for getting a table, totally luck of the draw and there's still that wait time. It's really good fried chicken, especially if one prefers juicy to greasy. So, think of it as a chicken take out place to plan ahead, and enjoy amazing food.

Went in on a less than busy evening. Sat at a table for over 15 minutes. Completely ignored by all staff as they walked past us and socialized st neighboring tables. Staff even cleaned our neighboring table and looked at us several times while continuing to ignore us. We ended up walking out with our child and finding somewhere else to eat while visiting in town.

This place has great food but the wait is just too long. Fried chicken shouldn't take half an hour after you order. It's just an expensive version Church's Chicken. I'm sorry but if you're in the chicken restaurant business, I think you should at least make an effort to keep the chicken on a constant cooking rotation.

Let me start by saying the food here is great, it's hard to mess up fried chicken. The meals aren't too expensive either. However, the service here is so incredibly hit or miss, usually leaning towards miss. I've had good experiences here where the food took an average amount of time (20min?) And times where the wait staff/kitchen forgot our order and we were waiting there for 2.5 hours without any apologies apart from our waitress. I still go back though, because wow that chicken is delicious, but I am wary every time.

This places is tough to rate. I’ve been going here since I was a child when it was always consistently great. Nowadays it’s very hit or miss and inconsistent. Sometimes it’s pretty good, other times it leaves a lot to be desired, both the food and service. One thing that’s never changed though is that it takes 35 min to cook the chicken, always has, so I recommend calling ahead if you are in any sort of rush. The staff will be more than happy to get your order cooking ahead of your arrival.

Talked this place up to my g.f. Finally was able to get the time off so we could enjoy a meal there together. I made sure to get there early before the rush came in. Around 5 PM. Was happy to see that there weren't many customers upstairs. We went downstairs so she could have a drink with her meal. We were the only ones ordering all other tables were empty. We ordered fast and was patiently waiting for our food. Was a half hr later and tables were almost full at this point. As we waited longer and longer everyone else around us started getting their meals. Even though we had ordered before anyone else! After seeing 4 other tables get their meals. We'd had enough. I paid for our beverages and left. Totally Disappointed and starving at this point. Will never go there again!

Great chicken and beer selection, call ahead if you're in a hurry, chicken is cooked to order so it is always very fresh and high quality but takes a little while. Great for kids and adults. The upstairs is good for families while the downstairs is more like a bar. If you haven't been, you're missing out on a old staple of Missoula.
