Very clean both the restaurant and the employees compared to three years ago when I first visited where the employees weren't that cleanly and they did not clean the kitchen or eating area that much. The staff now are very friendly and very clean with wearing clean uniforms and keeping their personal hygiene up to standards. The staff are very fast but efficient with taking orders and getting a long line through checkout quickly. Even if there is a long line you should stick around because the line moves at a fast pace and the food is very good.

Cafe Rio is an amazing place with awesome employees and a beautiful interior. All their food is made from scratch daily. When you walk through the line, you can see someone making fresh tortilla. Then they make your food in front of you just the way you want it. Also try their house dressing. And creamy ranch dressing that has a small hint of jalapeno

This is a fun place to eat! Staff is friendly and enthusiastic. Fun to watch them work. Tortillas are fresh made and and the ingredients are fresh too. The thing I got a kick out of is that they have horchatas on tap! Their burritos are great too. It's on my "go back, repeat hit" list and I recommend to friends.

Went in tonight and the assembler tried to charge us extra for cheese on our tacos and acted generally un interested to be at work. He also had long greasy hair and in my opinion has no business assembling my food. Food here is great but service is 90% of the experience.

Let me start out by saying that they have GREAT food. They have never gotten my order wrong and everyone there has been nothing but nice and friendly. The facility is clean and well kept. The reason I gave them 3/5 stars is their lack of speed. This is their weakness. I have walked in, saw the line and walked right back out knowing that if the line is full it will be 30+ minutes before I order. I have also waited in their line for that long. I have waited in line with one person in front of me for 5 minutes before being helped. It is something they need to work on. If cafe rio can increase their speed and decrease time spent on each order I will increase my review rating. I think they have a great product and vibe, but the (lack of) speed is putting a damper on it.

Very dirty, everywhere! The containers holding the food, disgusting. Trash overflowing. Floors with trash and food everywhere. Windows and doors were filthy. Vents not covers and greasy dust clung to the walls. I think the health board needs to visit. I was about 5:30, not very busy but the whole place looked like a disaster. Tons of staff and manager was busy chatting with staff (probably should have directed them to clean). Will never go to a Cafe Rio again if this is their standards.

This Cafe Rio location just doesn't provide the same experience as the ones in Utah. Having moved from St. George, the birth place of Cafe Rio we're excited that they've expanded all the way out here to Billings. My favorite thing to order is the sweet pork tacos. However it feels like this place skimps on the portion of meat they give you. It just seems the Utah locations give you more. I always ask for the tortillas extra crispy but they only remember half the time to do it. There's at least one very disgruntled employee behind the counter who is having a rough day. The one thing that's common of all cafe rio's is that I always feel rushed when trying to order. It's partially to do with the employees rapid firing questions at you and partially just because the way the set up is. If you feel easily anxious, better to have exactly what you want down to the last leaf of lettuce planned out before stepping in line. Tips: Horchata is quite good, better than the Fountain drink version. Also if you happen to step in on a lucky day, they'll have rasberry syrup, which combined with any soda is a delight.

However, yesterday, January 4th around 1pm, the gentleman working at till was so horrendously rude and disrespectful! If I were the owner or manager, I would look into retraining or disciplinary action.

This is a good restaurant but I’ve only given it four stars because they have been lacking later in the evening when it gets close to closing time. I showed up an hour before they closed and they were out of product and were not willing to make more. However, go during the day and you won’t have any issues except for finishing the meal. Very good food.

Went here at 8pm and they we're out of grilled chicken, grilled steak, and they emptied all the specialty drinks. They do not close until 9pm. Mentioned to the boy at the register they are out of everything and he said well at least it's not taco Bell! Oh, ok let me go there cause they won't be out of half of there food! Usually this place is great, but tonight they we're unable to provide their customers with what they want because they were in a hurry to close down and go home...didn't appreciate the taco Bell comment either.

I have gone to cafe Rio for a very long time. But this time there were alot of new people working there, and the place was filthy. I don't know if I will ever go back. The Windows were so dirty you couldn't see thru them. No clean tables. Even over by the drinks was all sticky. The trash cans looked like the inside of a dumpster in an alley. If it looks that bad, I know the kitchen is disgusting too. I took my cousin to eat there. Thinking it would be as usual. I was embarrassed I suggested to eat there.

The first time I have been here I went with my other half for a work day lunch date. It was great! They explained the menu, sang me a first-timer song, and all the staff was humurous and quick. The house made quest was different than I had ever had before but delicious. The portions were VERY generous, and I had leftovers for another 2 meals. Everything we had was delicious.
