I liked the fact that you can order the quality of the meat that you prefer. It gets pricier as you order better quality, but still reasonable. Also, you have to order fries separately, which is OK. That way, if you really don’t want them, you do have to pay for them. The burger was very tasty. I also had a gluten free bun, which tasted quite good. It is a bit noisy, but not so bad that it would keep me from going back again.

pros: Burgers are great - party of 5 each tried a different one and they were ALL great. Great downtown location cons: Pricey considering you don't even get fries, it's $10-$15 for a burger depending on the meat you select, I get not everyone wants fries, but you could certainly order NO fries! Unbearably loud, between people talking, music playing and dishes clanging. Need some sort of decor that absorbs sound or keep the music to a minimal volume. Trying to carry on a conversation with an older group at our table with slight hearing issues, was NOT working so we ate without talking at all, because even yelling at each other you could not decipher what anyone was saying. The whole point to go out and eat is good food and good conversation. Even when we were trying to order we could not hear the waiter tell us the specials nor could he hear out order, we had to write point out what we wanted. I'm willing to try this place again, because the burgers were really good, but I'm still hesitant because of the noise level in the place it worse than a football game at the stadium!

Really a nice joint. Not your typical burger dive by any means. Pretty classy and has a great diversity of eats and drinks. One of the better burgers in Bozeman and Livingston. They even let you reserve a table on their Yelp page which is handy for sure. We'll be back!

The burgers are small and really they aren't anything special. I even upgraded to the bison patty. If you like IPA you may like the beer list since it's mostly IPA. There's better joints for a good burger.

My wife was served clearly undercooked (almost raw in the middle) chicken, and the server hardly seemed to care enough to even apologize for it. She still got sick afterwards from eating there despite avoiding the chicken. I know several other groups of people who have gotten food poisoning after eating there in the last couple months. The entire staff don’t seem to take cleanliness or foodborne illness very seriously, avoid this place at all costs until they get their act together.

Very good burgers! Everyone had something different and none were disappointed. The Marias was their bison burger and it was moist and juicy. Beware of the double or extra patty on your burger. It's monstress in size. Extra tall mouths only apply! Overall great stop. Slightly pricey but it is downtown. $70 for family of 4.

Great burgers and great service. We saw the good ratings on this place and stopped here before catching our flight back home after visiting Yellowstone. The jalapeno hush puppies were a favorite, and the burgers were awesome. The combination of the meat and the bun was really good, better than other burger places. Great decor and ambience. Worth a visit!

The Burger Bar thrives on minimal interference. They have a wide selction of beer, served at tables or the bar. They have fantastic and perfectly sized burgers that don't come with fries. They have special sauces for the delicious onion rings and fries, or you can try out one of their tasty salads. The place welcomes a range of appetites and health and food-choice needs. They treat you like the star of the show.

Fair enough, we showed up hungry after a morning rafting, but the lunch was WAY ABOVE our expectations! Delicious burgers with original yummy sauces. The paddies, we chose a double dose of bison, were a dream. 3 choices of sauces for the homemade fries left us asking for a 2nd round. All in all a very reasonable bill for such well designed and prepared food in a nice setting. Cuddoes to John & his team.

I was excited to try out this place and stopped by today only to be completely disappointed in the service. They asked if I could sit at the bar since it was just me, which i am fine with, but than I sat at the bar for at least 10-15 minutes without getting acknowledged by anyone behind the counter and I finally decided to go somewhere else. Given the amount of good reviews I suspect it may have been an off day in general but it’s the little things that businesses do that can set them apart and they failed to deliver on that today. I’ll try again at a later date and will update this review then.

Usually very good and high quality food with great service. However, this is not a safe place for you if you have food allergies or Celiac disease. I usually order a salad and stick with that because I'm always afraid of having a reaction at a restaurant and places like this are exactly why. I decided to go out on a limb and get a burger on a gluten free bun. The burger was great! I also got fries which the waiter basically cut me off, when I was trying to ask about if they were fried in the same oil as other gluten products, and assured me they are 100% gluten and dairy free. Near the end of my meal, I ate a fry that tasted off and looked down to see SEVERAL onion rings on the plate. Onion rings are not gluten free, which means I will be sick for at least two weeks. I quickly pointed it out to the waitstaff, asked for the check, paid cash, and left. When I got home, I realized I was already covered in hives which means that there was also dairy hiding somewhere in the meal. Just don't risk it! Get a salad or stay away!

We went here for the first time tonight and loved it. $45 was a burger, fish and chips, mac n cheese, a beer, and onion rings. A little on the higher side but totally reasonable for the quality of the food. The toddler really enjoyed the mac. He ate the whole thing super quick. Our waitress had experience with kids and immediately asked if we wanted to order for him before we ordered our own food. The burger was cooked correctly and the toppings were well balanced. The fish and chips were good, though I found the fries a little- meh-. I think I'll try something else next time. Onion rings were shoestring style. I've never seen that before but I liked it. Good beer selection.

A solid selection of burgers to choose from. Fries are quite tasty and the severing plentiful. All prepared with locally raised beef & potatoes. They also have a good selection of regional brew on tap & bottle. A fun place to go for an enjoyable time and quality food. Recommend the crispy cheese curds with a touch of Sriracha.

Nice and very responsive staff. Was kind of dissapointed by my burger. They were awesome enough to do a special order (fried egg on very rare burger) except when I got it it was semi warm and falling apart. Everyone else's meal was fine. Surprised to see burgers came with no fries or sides. Wait times can be long (30 minutes+ for party of four) but it was also during Music on Main.

I'm really surprised at all of the comments about the pricing being reasonable. Compared to just about anywhere in Bozeman the prices here are insanely high for what you get. The $9-$14 burgers are quite small and don't even come with fries, those are an extra $2 or $3 I believe. I went with the fish and chips because I thought it was the more reasonably priced option at $10 and included fries. What I got was a very small portion of fries and a teeny piece of fish that was barely battered. The flavor was good but you can get better food in significantly larger portions for the same amount of money (or less) at many places around Bozo. Really, the only reason I'm giving three stars is because the bartender and the expo (I believe he was an expo) were working hard and very friendly despite it being a chaotic late lunch rush.

The burger with the green chili was not a 4 or 5 star burger. It was just above average, and certainly nothing special. It had no pop as far as flavor goes, particularly the green chili. The cheap white-bread bun was dry. In Bozeman, I expect better, and the bun should always be organic chibatta bread toasted on the grill and buttered. Wait, can I change my review to 2 stars?

Overall Rating: The go to for a good burger. My experience here was amazing. The atmosphere of the place is nice, very open feeling and kind of loud. The food is amazing. I got a burger that was perfectly made and tasted delicious. I also shared a fry with my girlfriend because they are so big and we couldn't even finish a plate of them together. I had problems asking a waitstaff for more napkins even though we were sitting up at the bar. They kept themselves busy but never came back and checked up on us.

Burger menu selection awesome and creative, and priced reasonably, but for a place specializing in burgers, I wasn't too impressed. I wasn't asked how I would like it cooked, and when I made my request anyway, it was far off the mark (overcooked). Was drier/less juicy than expected, as if it was lean meat. The decor was cool and I love the chalked menus and beer selection. Service was friendly but not very eager, especially considering it wasn't very busy. I know they are new, so I will will give it another shot and update my rating accordingly.

This place is awesome, for so many reasons. The food is great and affordable but the staff is what makes it a true Bozeman experience. Our server was hilarious and attentive. Heck during our meal, the kitchen manager, Andrew, even checked to see how we were doing. Whybother places don’t do this, I’ll never know. The veggie burger was dank but the Brussels melted my face off. I’d give this place a perfect 5/7 if it were possible.

The first time I came here I had a Marias burger, a bison burger with cheddar cheese, bacon, haystack onions and lettuce... since then I have never changed my order because it is so good! I usually go with the poutine, but the regular fries with their garlic parmesan is amazing as well! One of the best burgers in Bozeman!

We came here after the MSU football game. Waited 25 minutes to be seated. Server took our drink order, then stopped by for the food order, then dropped off the check, food was delivered by a runner. Never offered refills on water or soda, never asked for a dessert order, nothing but the absolute bare minimum. Food was ok, nothing too exciting. Wife had the special, magic mushroom burger with fries, daughter had the Calamity Jane burger and French Onion soup, and I ordered the fish and chips. Fish was overcooked and dry, lacked flavor, had to ask for lemon wedges. Won't be my first choice next time we're in town.

I paid about $9 for a double burger, with the regular fixings. You can really taste the difference with the Montana grass-fed beef. It was one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. Olympia Lager went great with the burger and it was only about $3.

We were told to only look at the reserve menu for beer because they didn’t have most of the stuff on tap. First and last visit..... bummer.
