The cornbread was fantastic! They have real honey butter. Some menu options: Chicken, sirloin, pot pie, baked potatoes, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, corn, soups and salads. Sweet tea, unsweet tea. Home style cooking highly recommended. Our server was fast and friendly. Prices very reasonable. Will come here again!!! Great rustic atmosphere. Noticed an ATM in this building too.

We come to Branson every three years on vacation. This was our second time eating here and both times it has been a wonderful experience. The food is fantastic and the corn bread is to die for. You won't go wrong eating at McFarlain's.

My daughter and I went to have a girl's day in Branson. She had never had fried green tomatoes. She absolutely loved the fried green tomatoes and could not say enough about the wonderful cornbread. Great family environment. Our server Lisa was absolutely wonderful and very sweet even though she was very busy.

I would love to do a review of this place but WOW this is the worst place we have been to in Branson, we were seated and that was about it after 20 minutes and asking other staff about our server still nobody waiting on us and they seated 2 groups after us and the had their drinks and was placing their food orders, and still no one waiting on us, after 25 minutes we decided to leave, we did talk to the manager but that was a waste of time, I think they should put up a sign out front that we would love to serve you but only if you are white because the 2 groups that they seated after us were white but we are not, it’s really the only thing we can attribute this to but I guess that’s just my opinion, this place is absolutely terrible

It was okay. And that's about all I can say. It wasn't bad. But the service was really slow. It took over an hour to order and get our food. The restaurant itself was cool, but it was in an odd location and confusing to figure out where to actually go inside. The chicken fried steak was okay but kind of overdone and not really anything to phone home about. The waiter wasn't hateful, but wasn't friendly and never offered refills, which were necessary because the wait was so long (and it was a Wednesday and they weren't busy). They kind of redeemed themselves with the carrot cake though because it was huge and amazing!

Especially for our large group, our server was exceptional. She didn't bat an eye at having to serve so many and she did a wonderful job. I am a first timer to Branson (as an adult), and came to stay at a vacation property with other members of my family. They recommended McFarlains and from the outset looked popular and busy. They were busy, but it wasn't during meal time. It took our server about 10 minutes to come by to greet us and get a drink order. She seemed overwhelmed and stressed. Ten minutes later she returned with drinks and took our order. One of my family members and I ordered food that would already be prepared: meatloaf and pot roast. The other person ordered a sandwich. It took about 20 minutes to get the food after ordering and mine was not prepared as requested. From that point on, it was just a depressing exercise in a lack of training or inability to wait tables. I finished my food earlier than the others and decided to talk to a manager about our experience. He was interested and said he would take care of one of the meals for our inconvenience and disappointment. He disappeared for awhile, then my family members finished their food and got ready to leave. The manager returned with an assistant who was helping him with the meal comp. In the end, he comped the whole ticket, which was very nice and generous.

Worst meal ever? Yeah, pretty close. 1/2 empty restaurant. Server and/or kitchen didn't get our orders right. Out of 6 people - none got right sides or all the food. Overpriced bland cafeteria food. Not what I remember it being in previous years. Sad waste of time and money.

Have always had a good experience here, great service and quality food, until this time. First my husband ordered the meatloaf dinner, my daughters ordered the kids meatloaf and the kids cheeseburger meal and I ordered the Cobb salad. My husband asked if we got the “complimentary” cornbread and they said only with an entree. He said “isn’t the meatloaf dinner an entree?” The waitress looked at us for a sec like she had to think about it and said she’d bring it. Then they brought our food and My Cobb salad was served in a side salad sized shallow little bowl, seriously the same size as my daughters kids plate. I asked the waitress if this was the dinner size and she said yes. I was a little bewildered and frustrated so I went to the manager and said I was not sure how they were charging $12 for a salad the size of a child’s plate? The Managers response was “that’s not a plate, that’s a bowl.” She offered nothing and instead Insulted me? I went back to the table, realizing I was getting nowhere, and she came by the table later after our waitress asked if everything was ok and we said no, not really. The manager then offered me a free dessert. I said I didn’t want anything free but in a world of abundant choices of good places to eat, especially in Branson, It’s the principle that when you order a dinner that it should come to the table looking like a dinner, not a kids plate. I also said that when you go to a manager with a complaint, you expect help, not to be insulted and no resolution be offered. She said she understood but I could tell it took everything for her to bite her tongue. We paid the bill and tipped without further issue, but will not be going back. This restaurant is known for home style country cooking and large portions so you don’t mind paying a decent amount for a dinner so this was strange but they said they have reduced the portions of many of their menu items. Maybe so but I’m not ordering it and paying full price again to find out which ones those are. Good riddance!

The place was clean and in an interesting little indoor shopping center with an attached theater that also shows IMAX films. The wait was average and the pricing to be expected for the locale. I had fish and chips and the fish was cooked properly and not overly greasy. Our server was informative and attentive to our needs.

This place puts the "T" in Tourist Trap. Sat down after a 45 minute wait and waitress spilled a full glass of water on my son. Mopped it all up poorly. Food was not good. Signature fried green tomatoes were soggy (maybe another glass of water spilled?). Basically think Cracker Barrel....that has been left in the fridge overnight.

Restaurant has a variety of home cooking. Ordered the chicken fried chicken. No salad with the meal. Cornbread came out and was the best part of the meal if you don’t use the weird whipped butter provided. The meal came out soaked in water from not draining the green beans. The waitress did not offer to fix anything including the check. I did not try the pie since the meal was not edible.

Waitress told us we were waiting for the liver and onions. Liver takes mere moments to pan fry. When the food did come out the mashed potatoes were not warm enough to melt butter. Completely incompetent kitchen staff. Messed up simple order of onions on side twice, even after being told that there were allergies to onions. First plate was covered in onion, second plate had obvious cross contamination with onions in the diced tomatoes. Fried green tomatoes excessively greasy, corn bread tasted like cake. Cracker Barrell atmosphere, but no where near the same. First and last trip here.

Love the nostalgia of taking my kids to a place I grew up visiting, and the rising tables always give us a laugh. The food is down home cooking and I've always enjoyed it. The staff is friendly and have gotten great service. My only complaint is that $14+ for one slice of pie is INSANE. We got one slice of pecan pie each thinking it was normal dessert prices only for our ticket to come and have nearly 100 dollars on dessert only (we ordered 5 slices plus scoop of ice cream for each)

We are local to Branson and have driven past this place many times, noticed how busy it is, and decided to stop in today for the first time. I love that you can shop while you wait for a table, even though we didn't have to. The cornbread was delicious! The side salad was mediocre at best, not terrible, but nothing to write home about and definitely not worth $3-4. Skip it. We both ordered chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans and all of it was delicious. The reason I'm leaving a 3-star review and not a 5-star is that the guy we had as our server brought out our bill and our side salads were itemized at $3.99 each. When my husband pointed out that the menu had offered them at $2.79 each if added to our meals, the server started to insist that we could only get that price if we were subbing the salads in lieu of another side, such as either our green beans or mashed potatoes. He offered to bring us a menu, which he did, and then he ran off. The menu clearly stated you could add it for $2.79, so I felt that we were justified in asking for our ticket to be adjusted. (If it had said substitute, I would've paid it.) When he came back, we discussed it further and he ended up completely taking the salads off altogether. (Normally, I'd insist on paying something for them, but again, they weren't great.) In spite of this miscommunication, my husband did leave a 20% gratuity because the server was otherwise okay. But we both felt that someone needs to be aware of this, hence the review, and my husband felt that the server tried to do all of this under the radar and he will not return because of it. Hopefully I'll be able to come back when my girlfriends come to visit. Enjoy the food- it's great! But doublecheck your receipt.

Went there because my husband loves catfish and sweet tea. Catfish was just good and he sent the sweet tea back. The chicken fried steak was just all right. Lots of breading, could have done with less. A couple of us left with indigestion. Oh, it also took our waitress 10 minutes to even acknowledge our presence and the place was nearly empty.

Great place to experience great food! Like sitting down to a family gathering. Menu is full of a variety of McFarlain Specials and other mouth watering meals. Portion sizes are substantial and I had the Pioneer Pot Roast and brought half of the meal home. Restaurant is clean, well staffed, and food came to the table hot. Our server was Torri who was busy but provided us with great service. An additional treat with the meal was a huge slice of cornbread with a scoop of butter that tasted like ice cream! No doubt you will enjoy McFarlain's so check them out. Breakfast is served until 11:00 AM and the breakfast menu has plenty of selections. During certain periods of the day, you may wait for a table but the IMAX Complex provides a variety of shops to browse.

Worst service in my memory AND it wasn't even at a busy time of the day. It was at the end of breakfast but to bring one diners breakfast and it was finished before the others food was delivered. I've never seen or heard of something like this. Additionally we asked for the check when we gave our drink order but the waitress gave the bill to the other family we were dining with. The food was good but certainly did not make up for the shoddy service. Guess what, we WILL NOT BE BACK!

Went there last night waited an HR no food they said they had problems with this all day long with the food taking so long getting out. Well there wasn't that many people left when we were waited on. Been to a lot bigger places and never takes that long for our food. My "Amazing" Fried Chicken was old and Dry. Also our waiter looked and acted like a drug dealer out of a movie! Paid him as he was our "cashier" and it took him a very long time to count out the change back from a $100. And it wasnt right till we told him how much. Some of the trouble might have been the huge crumpled up wod of cash he was using from his front pocket. Very disappointing dinner date night with my wife. We are locals and will not be going back... !

Worst service ever! Took 45 min to seat us when there were tons of empty seats (after we were told 15 min.) Then when seated our food took an additional 40 min. With hardly any customers. When my 3 year old got chocolate milk it was spoiled. Which I discovered after he had already drank half of it! The waitress apologized but we didnt even get to talk to a manager.
