Mango is absolutely wonderful. It's dishes are incredibly tasty, with engaging flavor profiles and generous portions. Went here for a date night and had an amazing experience. The waitstaff was super friendly. The cocktails are also unique, decently-priced, and very yummy. Go there and enjoy!!
I highly recommend dining here, food is delicious and staff is friendly.
The Lomo Saltado beef bowl was the best!
Unique and interesting food and drinks. Beautiful design with high ceilings and great street views.
Foods are okay! Everything is good, yes there is room for better. Will be back.
Delicious food! The aguamantes in the dessert were amazing.
Staff is very understanding and they also maintain the cleanliness of the area effieciently
Good Peruvian .. you can request an off the menu item .. Papa a la Huancaina ... Yummy The Pisco Sours are good .. I think they use Porton
Wonderful wonderful food here! Never had a Peruvian food before and this restaurant made me fall in love with the cuisine! They offered complementary banana chips with salsa which was really good too! Must visit place when in St. Louis if you like new food!
Upscale place, nice ambiance, food is okay. Even regular Mexican food seems much better testing than Peruvian 'delicacies
Delicious. Excellent food, excellent service. Had the special empanada as an appetizer, which was a nice mix of sweet and savory. My wife and I ordered cocktails which were well-made. And we shared a chicken and beef dish for entrees, both of which were excellent. Highly recommend.
This was our first time having Peruvian food and it did not disappoint. The restaurant staff made great suggestions, the service was great and the food was remarkable. Only wish this place was in Chicago so it would be easier to get back.
Food was amazing. Had the special which consisted of a filet and shrimp. Filet was perfectly cooked to rare and super tender. Shrimp were super flavorful. Food was super slow to arrive. Not sure why. Place wasn't busy. Otherwise wait staff was attentive.
So good, nice lunch choices
Fantastic ceviche! One of the best I've had. Get it Mixto style. Worth it!
The hostess, server, and food was fantastic. We visit this place at least once a year and never get let down.
So good. I'm still full. Great service from Jonathan too.
We ordered the fish of the day and mentioned that we would be sharing it while talking to our server, and when it came out they actually put it on two separate plates, both presented and garnished beautifully! Not only did it look beautiful but it tasted wonderful too. Super classy and delicious!
Food was especially delicious, the happy hour snack deals were great (3-6M-F), staff all were helpful and friendly smile, atmosphere was great, and they have outdoor seating so you can enjoy the city life. Recommend the skewers.
Great food and friendly service.
Beautiful and pricey place, perfect for date nights or first date. Wasn’t so impressed with the taste of the food but the mood was perfect for the occasion.
Great food! I'm vegetarian so the fried mushrooms and rice was great choice
Awesome Peruvian restaurant and always busy. I didn’t make the reservation but was able to find a seat at the bar. The food is great just the parking can be tricky.
We had booked a private room, and that process was very cordial and easy. Their appetizers were extremely addictive, but main course was just ok. The beef stew wasn't enjoyable. The dessert was good but the ambience and appetizers made it memorable.
It was awesome food! Especially the plantain chips!!! The beef heart was good.
Fantastic food, pisco sours and wine - try the tenderloin and the ceviche.
We came to Mango’s because it sounded interesting, it was close to the convention center. We had a wonderful appetizer that we shared, a salad with salted beets and a lot of ingredients whose names I could not pronounce,But oh did it taste good. A wonderful dish. My friends and I both ordered the special of the day which happened to be mahi-mahi served on a bed of yellow pepper risotto with a mushroom sauce that just exploded with flavor. And it came with wonderful perfectly cooked asparagus spears that had been deep fat fried briefly to crisp up this beautiful Parmesan crust. We both agreed we hadn’t had a meal this good since we were in Tuscany last year. And that meal did not surpass this. We chose to have dessert, a light dessert of mango sorbet served with fresh slices of mango and crisped quinoa in a raspberry sauce. Yum!! A little glass of wine and this was the best meal. Highly recommend the restaurant. Our waitress was delightful and helpful.
Great Get away!
I haven't had a meal here I didn't love! We travel to St. Louis once a year and always make time to dine here. Over the past few years business has grown so now a reservation is recommended, but that just shows how good the food is here. I have yet to find Peruvian meals served elsewhere in the Mid-West! The waitstaff has always been polite and kind.
irst try at Peruvian. Went for lunch. Best service of any restaurant I've been in St Louis, in the past 10 years. Even though she was new to the establishment, our server knew the menu, and was well trained. The entire staff was attentive. he food was outstanding. Started with the Ceviche, and had a beef with jasmine garlic rice bowl, and a roasted pork with quinoa bowl for entrees as well. Finished with some house specialty deserts, including flan for me and my friend. The waitress whose name escapes me and I apologize, and suggested we had some shrimp and mussels to the ceviche, which was great. Perfect meal. I will go back when I'm in St. Louis again.
The food was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will go again.
The Pescado a lo Macho is excellent. This place is definitely a gem in downtown St. Louis.
Loved the ambience. Loved the food. Will definitely revisit.
View from down the arch is superb. It's not worth a view from top.
Try something new... this place will not disappoint!! Fresh and light!
Absolutely delicious food and amazing service! I will definitely be going back sooner than later!
Deliciously different!! Excellent food and wonderful spices. Every dish we tried was fabulous and so flavorful! The staff was charming, understanding, and helpful. Elegant and classy sit down dining. Even the small plates made great dinners.
Found this restaurant from Yelp and a hotel concierge recommendation. I have eaten there over several business trips and enjoyed it each time...both during Happy Hour and full dinners. They have a good wine list. I especially have enjoyed the Peruvian House wines- both the white and the red. I also agree with other reviewers about the beef stew dishes and each of the fish/seafood dishes. The service was good and there is a variety of entrees for everyone's taste. I plan to visit again the next time I am in St. Louis.
Outdoor seating. Did not order food but the sangria was delicious. Good service.
Exceptional food, really tasty and different. Loved the Pesco Sours.
About the shrimp and enjoy the great meats
The food was expectacular and I enjoyed it a lot. Some of the persons of the staff weren't really nice. My family and I had a little issue because we didn't want our food with cilantro and in one of the plate there was. However they were really nice and they brought us the same plate even though we finished the one with cilantro. Good food, good attendance but some of the people in the staff could be a bit nicer.
Love this place. Never have I been disappointed. Great service, food is fresh and you can taste the love! Thanks for taking the picture Jorge!
Exquisite, wonderful service and decor! Try the ceviche! Try everything!
The food and drink were different and delicious.
Great sangria and ceviche. The atmosphere is good and location is convenient.
Very nice vibe and everything on the menu sounded fantastic. Tried the beef tenderloin dish based on my friendly bartender's recommendation and did not disappoint. She also recommended the garlic shrimp app and that was great too. Thank you Paige. Went back the next night because it was good (and convenient to my hotel).
Quite good. Had the Salmon rice bowl. They did it right (which is surprisingly hard) and did not overcook or overspice as I've experienced before
First time to a Peruvian Restaurant - hope to return. Super accommodating and personable staff coupled with delicious and invigorating menu items.
Great atmosphere and food. Best Peruvian food in St. Louis. Good for a romantic dinner or celebratory occasion.
Overpriced with small plates. The drink and dessert pressure seemed worse than the typical restaurant. Still, the food was good (just left hungry).
Me and my friend went a couple of weeks ago and the scenery was great! I had their sangria along with shrimp, rice (which was beautifully decorated), and french fries. The prices on the menu of course was a bit high, but we still enjoyed ourselves. Definitely will come back to try lunch.
Great food, fantastic service! Try the traditional Pisco Sour, but don't stop there, the rest of the cocktail menu is fantastic as well.
We decided to try something different and gave Peruvian cuisine a try...SO GOOD! Our waitress made outstanding recommendations and we were extremely pleased with the fish and seafood dishes we tried. If we lived in St Louis we would definitely be back to try out more of their tasty food
Great service and unique food!
The service is great the atmosphere is great the food is very awkward and weird very Bland but my drink was good
One of my favorite restaurants in STL. I always order the ceviche mixto, it’s absolutely delicious and super fresh! The pisco sours are also very tasty. If you’re not into seafood, the Ají de Gallina (shredded chicken in a creamy sauce) was great and the serving was generous. Great atmosphere for dates!
Great happy hour. The pisco sour is very authentic.
Great peruvian food. I really liked it and reservations need to be made in advance. Lomo Saltado, Anticucho, Seco de Carne were the ones we chosen and we were not disappointed. A must if you want to adventure the Peruvian cuisine.
We visit mango once per year and it is good, but sometimes the sauces that you expect to be light and refreshing are a bit heavy and fatty. The mahi-mahi tuna for example, had a fairly heavy mango type sauce. It had a bit of sour which help to offset that, but still I would say to stay away from those type of sauces if you're looking for some of them more tasty items. They have many good choices and sour tends to be a major player in most of their foods, but it is not over powering. The atmosphere is nice but a little bit spendy.
The food was the best thing I have eaten in a restaurant all year.
Good stuff. Loved the banana chips with salsa. I had a few of the starters and they were all good. Hope to get back and try some of the yummy looking entrees.
Absolutely wonderful food! Great service
Food is so flavorful. Worth every penny!
Very good food. I have never had such a good mango dish before. The service was good as well.
Amazing food. Good service.
Food was good, but pricey for what it was. Waitress was very knowledgeable and very kind. It took a long time to get our food even though it wasn't very busy.
Quality service. Fun cocktails. Food was like my friend from Peru makes.
Sooooo, glad we gave this place a try. Amazing food and drinks. Top notch, high end food. The cooks know what they are doing, the staff is great and the Atmosphere is very nice. Definitely coming back
Amazing! The food was worth the wait to be seated! Service was fantastic. The plantain chips and dip are other worldly.
Food selection was minimal. Service 3 stars. Food quality 3.
It was good. Beautiful place, Peruvian spices were very nice. It was not hard to get a reservation for 5pm on a Wednesday night, but by the time we left it was packed. If you are adventurous, or just like Peruvian food, you should stop in when you're in St. Louis
Wow I did not expect great Peruvian food while I was in St. Louis, this was a pleasant surprise! Just down the street from the convention center/hotel I stayed at was this little gem. I went here on a quick lunch between workshops and snuck in some Pollo Saltado, and it was so good! The chicken wasn't over cooked and dry, the rice was that perfectly balanced chewy and firmness, and the ajia crema sauce was amazing! Seriously, I was using the tomatoes and cucumbers and everything in the bowl to scrape at any remnants of sauce leftover! They also serve little plantain chips with some other sauce at the beginning and I completely finished those off because they were so delicious! If you're in the downtown St. Louis area, you must do your tastebuds a favor and venture here for some authentic Peruvian food, yum!!
Gourmet food at reasonable prices and a different variety of food...bon appetite. Thanks for making my birthday special!
Very good food, excellent service
Loved the ceviche! Must try it!
Great food. Okay service
Five star all the way around. Atmosphere, the Ambiance, the service, the food quality flavor. Wonderful
This was my first experience with Peruvian food. It was amazing! Everything was super delicious. Little but pricey, but definitely worth it.
Outstanding. Don’t overthink it. Go!
I am going to start with all the good aspects of this restaurant: I loved the mixed drink of the day which included lemongrass?!?! The decor of the restaurant was pleasant and fit with the Peruvian vibes (including the native artwork in the front). Great staff that provided excellent, prompt, and courteous service. The meal had a great presentation to it. It reminds me of a dash of authentic Peruvian food with a whole lot of pretentiousness. The presentation of the meal was anything but authentic, while beautiful and tasteful. Then the worst part. I have never had food poisoning from a restaurant ever, and I have reviewed thousands. However, the violent hell from eating Lomo Saltado here was something not from this planet. I struggled to write this review because of the amazing experience otherwise, but I feel it necessary warning to anyone that goes there: THEY MUST CLEAN THEIR KITCHEN OR THEIR HANDS.
Delicious and authentic food and drink!! The Pisco Sour was very similar to the ones I have had in South America and the desserts were outstanding!
Great food, great service.
Very much so over priced for the portion and the quality of food. 32.00 for yuca and a small piece of fish that was very unimpressive. Also the waiter put a hot plate on my arm to get my attention to let me know my food had arrived versus politely tapping me to let me know my food had arrived. Some may think we'll maybe he didn't realize it. No he absolutely did because when I turned to look at him he says "your food is here". Subtle passive aggressiveness is never ok.
This delectable eatery is in the heart of downtown. We ordered the steak bites and the chicken in the sauce along with beef hearts for appetizers. We were not let down. A perfect little place to have a grown up conversation and also the windows are huge so you can people watch if you are in to that. It was by far the healthiest meal I had for the entire week. Great food, good people and excellent service. I would suggest booking ahead it does get crowded.
I know St Louis is well known for its BBQ, but you need to eat here. The food is fresh, authentic, and beautifully prepared. Best of all, it tastes amazing!
Mango is absolutely one of my favorite places to eat! They have these plantain chips and mint chutney they put on the table and I love them! Tonight I had the surf and turf special. The steak was perfect, juicy, melt in your mouth! Dessert is always good here and tonight was no exception! I usually have the Pisco Punch, which are amazing, but tonight had the Pisco sour! Tastes like an exotic margarita, so good and very strong!
Really good food , good service, loved it
To celebrate a special occasion we decided to go to Mango on Saturday night. We always have great food and service. We especially like the ceviche and seafood there. The drinks are really good too. We usually like to sit at the bar when we go to eat, because we enjoy the extra service we usually get, as well as having the bartender suggest cocktails. We initially ordered a bottle of wine and a few minutes later, when the wine came, we ordered our food. The bartender poured the first glass of wine for us. After that, she never came back again. The food was served by other staff and no one checked on us. I want to be clear that it wasn't that the bartender was busy making drinks or handling other customers, she was talking to (flirting with?) a co-worker. The ceviche and beef skewers we ordered were great. We just poured our wine which was no big deal, except that we wanted another bottle. When things got really frustrating was when the main course arrived and the fish was so tough and rubbery that we had a hard time even cutting through it. We didn't even try a bite it seemed so bad. After a several minutes of looking directly at the bartender on the other side of the bar I failed to get her attention. After a few more minutes we got the attention of someone else working behind the bar and asked for our check since we wanted to leave, frustrated at the lack of service -- something that we never had a problem with at Mango in the past. They informed us that they weren't going to charge for the fish we didn't eat. As a rule I tip 20-25% since I have worked in restaurants in college and know how hard the work can be. I always leave a tip, except Saturday. It was the first time in over ten years. I can't even remember when I felt so unhappy with service that i didn't leave anything.
Good atmosphere good food good service
Nice establishment, good atmosphere. Nice and friendly wait staff but understaffed. Had to wait a long time to get our order in. The food was okay. Some dishes too spicy, others not enough spice. Their prices on the higher end for the food. The complimentary banana chips and green sauce were great. Happy hour from 3-5pm is offered. Nice bar.
Really delicious food (the plantain chips and salsa were great!) and attentive service. No outdoor seating. Fast to getting meal to the table. Accommodating to gluten restrictions. Fantastic restaurant.
Delicious Peruvian cuisine mostly authentic
Unique flavorful food and great customer service!
Awesome place great vibe abs service was great with awesome drinks.
Excellent food and service. Beef, mango and shredded chicken dishes were very good. Seems to be popular among locals.
Really good experience. Neat place xx CV ery clean xx good rest service and spec it Alli excellent peruv u an food.
Attractive place...bt very engaged..food is good...buttermilk price
This place is amazing! The flavors are comforting while at the same time being different from the everyday. And the chef certainly knows how to prepare fish beautifully. Grab a pisco sour and enjoy the the great food and outstanding service from the wait staff. My new favorite restaurant!
Delicious food! Some dishes are very unique, with authentic ingredients, and might not be to everyone's taste. We asked our server for recommendations and were not disappointed. Wonderful service too.
Great location, great space, great service, fantastic food and amazing prices for the quality. We just walked in from the street and what a nice surprise. Located in a beautiful historic building right downtown, the food at Mango is perfectly cooked and seasoned, and presented beautifully. Pictured: the ceviche
Good food but limited option during lunch
Great Peruvian food. Ceviche is excellent as are anticuchos and chimichurri
I was in St Louis celebrating my bEarthday and Mango was the highlight of the weekend! Everything from booking to leaving the restaurant was AMAZING! Greeted with smiles and escorted to our table through a beautifully designed establishment was just the beginning. Our waitress Wendy deserves special mention because I had no clue what to drink or eat! Her suggestions were on the money! The Sangria is to die for (it should be bottled and sold) and I appreciated the vegetarian selections being plentiful! The fresh flavors of the food made my palette very happy and the dessert topped it off! Places like Mango usually break the bank but my husband and I were pleasantly surprised at how affordable the meal, drink and dessert was! Thanks to Wendy and the rest of the staff (whom I noticed were attentive to all the patrons) Mango is forever on my list of must go to places on St Louis!!
Whenever in St. Louis I always try to make a stop here... food, drinks and atmosphere always fabulous!
Excelent food!!
This place is phenomenal. Couldn't have asked for a better dinning experience in St. Louis. The staff was amazing and the inside was so elegant and classy. The food was to die for. Highly recommend you visit Mango.
We enjoyed the Happy hour and ordered every dish on the Happy hour menu! Every small plate was wonderful! Absolutely returning but not ordering all of the Happy hour food because it was way too much! We had a great time and the service was top notch!
Seriously good food. The Causa de Salmon was so delicious, I wanted to order seconds. There is a nice, quiet atmosphere for a sophisticated or business lunch as well.
I love this place! I eat here all the time. Dependable, friendly staff. They always make me feel at home and they take great care of my guests.
Incredible food. The best I got to try during my short time in St. Louis. Try the Lomo Saltado!
Excellent restaurant right on Washington. Convenient to the convention center and conference hotels. Delicious, flavorful Peruvian food. I will be back.
The girl at the front desk had zero personality. The resturant was pretty nice & the menu had interesting options. I had the halibut which was delicious but it was the special that day, not something they always offer. It was good food but not someplace I would crave to return to have again.
The food was original with multiple layers of flavor. Ambience and service was fantastic. Unique menu of cocktails was surprisingly good. Best Sangria we’ve ever had. Highly recommended to anyone.
Food was very tasty. Plantains and salsa was great and the chocolate cake was so good. Service was very fast. Parked behind resturant in lot with normal fee of $6, but was told parking is free on Sunday, so I didn't pay the meter. Street parking is there but all were full. I suspect during the week, it would be challenging to park.
My family and I took a trip to St Louis and wanted to find something different and Mango popped up for us. First of all when you walk in it seems like a four star restaurant very nice, the waitress was very knowledgeable of the product they had we asked her what was in some salsa they served and she broke it down. Food was excellent, service was awesome, it's a little pricey but when you visit somewhere new might as well live a little we will definitely go back if we are ever in town.
Curtis and Paige helped me dive right into my first Peruvian experience. They guided me to mouth watering selections and offered up not only great service but also great conversation and ideas to make my visit to St. Louis more enjoyable. I highly recommend!
The food was good, however the service was terrible on all levels. The hostess stand was unoccupied when we arrived, despite the restaurant not being very busy. When the hostess finally arrived she did not ask about it reservation, and then became very confused and flustered when we asked to sit outside. Our server was even worse, she was unable to assist with our table rocking and openly admitted that she didn't know the beer or food menu very well, which unsurprisingly led to her getting our drink order wrong. After another request our server sent out a bartender to try to level our table, which he did with minimal success and a high degree of rudeness. The ceviche was very good, the fish was good and the strip steak was okay. The food seemed overpriced. I will probably not go back anytime soon, I love Peruvian food and wish that was another option in St Louis.
It’s not often you get a taste of the Andes in the Midwest, but here’s the place to go. Food is consistently good, the service is great, the pisco sours rule all. Get the ají de gallina and the saltados.
Came in early on a Saturday and sat at the bar. The bar tender was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. Not a great place for dry cocktails but they were fruity and fun.
Great place food was uniquely prepared.
The service was great and the food was great. My wife got the chicken, rice, and mango salsa. I ordered the other chicken dish. Both were great.
Very solid lunch, good steak bowl, super yummy plantain chips with verde dip. Server made great recommendations and was just the right balance of helpful but not overbearing. Will definitely head back for dinner sometime.
Great coffee, food, and service!
Complete rip-off. 75 bucks for ceviche/fries and some shrimp with rice. A couple of glasses of wine and 2 beers.
Good and. Very clean.
We were celebrating our 9th year marriage anniversary. They had a table set for us, glass of champagne. The waiter was attentive and the food awesome.
The original restaurant has more variety on their menu and the flavor was way better. I enjoyed more my first experience than my second visit. The fried plantains-platanutres- with the sauce is beyond good!
Good food but we went at a busy time and the service was a little slow. Otherwise great!
Nice place, good service. Ceviche was really one of the best that I had so far.
Good quality food, just missing some peruvian mood in the place
Food was great, very pleasant atmosphere.
Phenomenal Peruvian cuisine. Great service and atmosphere. First time eating here and definitely will not be the last.
Fascinating, super delicious food in a cool setting
Wow the flavors are awesome. Eric was wonderful at the bar. I'm so coming back to this place.
Great service. Great time
Place is entirely fantastic. Decor is on point, staff was presentable and knowledgeable and the GM (Curtis) was very helpful in making recommendations on food and wine. Big recommendation
I was so excited to go!! But the happy hour drinks were only available in the front of the restaurant??? And the food was fine.... I thought it would be great! I won't go again.
Didn't feel so Peruvian to me... At least the items on the menu. The restaurant itself as well as the service were good.
Overpriced Peruvian food. Grew up in SoCal’s San Fernando Valley which is where I have to compare the food with. Food tasted like authentic Peruvian food. My only gripe is the food is way overpriced. I had ceviche de pescado. For $20 I’d expect way more fish than what was served. They should have called it “ceviche de fillers and we threw in some fish.” For the main dish I ordered tallarin verde with strips of beef. Tasted really good and the beef was tender. Portion was good, but not worth the $23. Like I said, it’s overpriced. I can’t really recommend this places due to the inflated prices. The tallarin verde was good, but not worth returning to this restsurant for.
Had a nice dinner here while in town with my husband..really nice waitress good food..
Great Peruvian food with good selection of alcohol
Love the the rice a empanadas
Loved it! Our server was wonderful!/Food was great!
Delicious food. Most visit if you're in town.
This is probably the first Peruvian restaurant I have been to. The experience was good! The food was very good. They give you dried plantains and a pureed dip to start with.
Food was delicious and service outstanding. Prices are also reasonable. A friend said the ceviche was the best she's had.
The food is really tasty and ambiance is fabulous. The waitress are friendly and really helpful ordering food. I would highly recommend eating at this restaurant. Great place to try new food, especially if your from our of state. Must try it once. Our waitress name was nikki and she will hook you up with free dessert ;).
Ceviche is great but could use a little bit more volume. The Peruvian styled drinks are what make the place great
I love it when you know right when you walk into a place: the culture, the authenticity, the vibe, the aroma of truly delicious food. Mango had me at hola. Everything we ate was simply perfect; I only wish we had room for more. The staff is all smiles, while also attentive to your needs and knowledgeable about the dishes. Our server picked out a few items for us and nailed them all, so of course we asked for her guidance for dessert. The ambiance is comforting, with a clientele keenly interested in all of the sensational lunch bowls and gastro-delights. I'm excited to return to Mango, as it goes beyond lunch in the city and becomes worthy of being the destination. Well done, Mango, well done.
Recommended by several local people. Chicken was really good. Loved our server. We shared dessert. Very good.
Had a bad experience and the waiter didn't seem to care to know why or even ask if we enjoyed it. Clealry didn't eat , hardly touched the food and left
Delicious!! Lomo saltado, causa and jalea highly recommend it!! Customer service is good as well..
The steak bowl was phenomenal, as was the service!
Awesome original Peruvian food and makes a great pisco sour
This restuarant is delicious! An awesome place for date night. Yes it is more expensive that cheesecake factory type restaurant status, but it is so worth it! The staff, decor, and atmosphere is awesome. If you love fish, get the fish!!!
I first visited Mango years ago and it was amazing. Years later, Mango is still stellar. Recently my wife and I visited Mango and we were served by Danielle who was awesome. She was open to conversation and was very helpful with our questions about the menu and STL. We opted for her top menu recommendations. I had the Pescado a lo Macho and my wife choose the Lomo Saltado. Both of our dishes were superb. The service was excellent and quick and we didn't feel rushed. All in all our dinner at Mango was incredible and I highly recommend it for anyone in STL.
