Friendly staff, and good food, but we got there at 11:03am and they only have breakfast until 11am, so none of the 4 of us got what we wanted. Also, I'm peanut allergic and 2 of my friends don't eat meat. On the lunch menu it was tricky to get a meal we could eat. I wouldn't go back unless it was breakfast hours.

We traveled to Union to meet up with family near the area and stopped in for lunch. We intentionally arrived about 1 pm to miss most of a lunch crowd if they had one, but were pretty confident from photos online that there would be plenty of seating even if there was a mad rush. Thankfully, there was room for us with only one dining room open. When you enter, you walk into an area between the two dining areas and almost into the bathrooms. There's a bench and a wall right inside the door, which makes it feel a bit crowded when the customers leaving are paying and others are going in or out of the restrooms. There are some really neat decorations on the walls, with a 'country' feel that makes it easy to wander right on in looking at of them. The menu was a good variety of salads, sandwiches, and appetizers for lunch. The dinner menu doesn't begin until 4 pm. Also, the website said that they do not have French fries for lunch, but they have recently changed that and are now offered alongside the cole slaw, cucumber salad, seasonal fruit, and a side salad. Walked in 10 minutes before breakfast ended and the waitress acted like it was outrageous that we'd want to order breakfast. The service didn't get better... Requests for napkins took a very long time and drinks sat empty. The food was delicious, the service was very disappointing.

The service was rushed. We ordered 6 wings as an app. Our wings came out in 5 minutes. Since it takes a minimum of 12 minutes to cook wings that were ordered extra crisp from fresh, we could only assume that they par cooked earlier in the day. Our dinner which was ordered separately from the appetizer, came so fast we had just finished our first wing each. Knowing that it does take a while to cook a half pound burger, we were surprised how fast the food was able to come out. The burger was well done which takes even longer to cook than other donenesses. We also had the French dip in which the meat was very tender and tasty. However, the au jus tasted as if it was strait out of a can or package. The steak fries were as they were expected to be. By the time we were done with our meal, had our table completely prebussed, and our food was in to go containers ready to go, I had only drank half my beer. I am not a slow drinker and this was a testimate to how we were pushed through our meal. Bottom line, we will not be returning and suggest others take notice.

I had the delicious fried zucchini salad and my husband had the Mushroom Swiss Burger, cooked to perfection. The salad was excellent, but it was big enough for two people, so I couldn't finish it. We were on the road so i wasn't able to take my leftovers with me. It would be nice if they offered a half salad. We would definitely go back.

Amazing food and service!! Best wrong turn I’ve ever taken. I had the French dip lunch with seasonal summer fruit. The meat on the sandwich was the most tender and flavorful beef I’ve had. Will definitely take the motorcycle back out to eat one weekend.

Standard "down home" grub that's part "yum" and part "hmm...". 4 out of 5 folks in our group had to hit the restroom immediately after eating therefore I give Junie Moon deuce stars.

Home of friendly service and well-prepared food. The menu is pretty typical for a small diner in the Midwest - that is, nothing fancy. But it's a great place for a country breakfast. Good omelets, biscuits & gravy, and eggs cooked to order. I haven't tried lunch or dinner here.

Nice atmosphere and staff but the quality of food is poor. Everything was store bought or from bag/ package. The dinner salad came out, bagged lettuce, shredded cheese (pre cut from a bag and a few tomatoes which were probably bought diced. Things only got worse from there I tried the polish sausage plate and they sent out 2 burnt hot dogs also on the plate was a heaping portion of green beans straight from the can. This would be a fine place for old folks or people who don’t know the difference between good food and prison food

Overpriced bland food. The waitress was slow, my burger was boringly boring. The onion rings were ok, but the home made chips tasted like they were cooked in old oil, or oil that had been used for too many different things. I mentioned to the waitress that maybe the oil was old and just said that well, she thought they were good. just not a good time. Not going back.

We wanted something fairly healthy after a full day at 6 flags & decided to stop here. Not too far off i44 and it lived up to the good reviews. I ordered the polish sausage & sauerkraut and it was delicious! My fiancé had the steak, loved it. Large portions. Very homey feeling. The girls working were very nice also. My family really enjoyed their food also! Will forever stop here to eat after a trip to 6 Flags or St. Louis. Highly recommend.

Food was nice. Some waiters were nice. Except for one. She didn't seem happy at all that I and my boyfriend were taking our time after we were done eating, just talking to each other. She came to take our plates without even asking if we're done, no smiles or eye contact whatsoever. Not worth coming back. (this happened last year, only making a review now.) hope you train your waiters this time to be nicer.
