We offer you all the reviews of real people who buy the services and products of El Rancho (Restaurant) in the state of Missouri.
At the present this business gets a score of 4.3 stars over 5 and this rating has been based on 336 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average score it has is quite good, and it's founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can say that the rating is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they are pleased with the service, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to write scores when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Mexican restaurant.
Great service, food is amazing and the coffee was so good! Tell everyone you know to eat here.
Open late. Very cheap for what you get and excellent service. Muy deliciosa.
My fiance and I eat here any chance we get. We are obsessed with their chimichangas. Specifically the beef and chicken ones. We don't get beans with it, just more rice. It's so good!
Haven't had anything I didn't like
Reasonable prices,authentic food
good service, polite, quick
Authentic as it gets for the area
El Rancho was delicious. My daughter had chicken flaunts and I had Chile rellanos. Also we got chips and 8 different salsas to choose from. We will be going back!
Ohh my God its the best i ever had!!!!
Great tacos!
Food is good, portions can be larger for price charged. Over-all nice place
Omg..I haven't ate here in "forever" & it's still the same as I remember it
This is such a great little gem! Truly authentic Mexican, and something for everyone (including vegetarians and seafood lovers). The complimentary chips were amazing with 5 sauces and some pickled vegetables. Portions were large and the drinks huge for the price. Overall, excellent experience with fast and responsive service, and amazing food. Will be back for sure!
Ain’t nothing like it in Omaha been going here for years. Nothing tops this place in and out of state! Most Importantly Real Authentic Mexican Food
My family loves eating here, it is authentic Mexican food. You can get your basic burritos and enchiladas, or you can get your trip cheta and lengua if that's what floats your boat.
The food was good and it was fast. Great place to go after having a few drinks with friends. Just get there before all the bars close otherwise it is a long line.
Steak fajita nachos make the best drunk food
Great food! Great prices!
Great chimichangas, tacos are excellent as well
Quality, price, service: 5/5 El Ranch is an authentic Mexican food joint! Cooked to order right in front of you and open til 2AM most nights, this is an experience that can't be missed if you're a fan of Mexican food!
El Rancho is now my number 1 go to restaurant the service was prompt and the food was amazing I brought someone and they were just amazed at the food. I really enjoyed
Simple Mexican food at it's best. Great value on their lunch specials.
Friendly staff. Great food and CHEAP!
Good
Love the grilled chicken nachos nice staff great food
El Rancho... Yes!! Always good food.
Great service. Food is service really fast also the appetizers while you wait is really good all class of salsas
Late-night Mexican restaurant, popular with drunken college students after the bars close. Simple, basic Mexican food - don't expect anything elaborate, just burritos, tacos, nachos... anything quick to prepare. True anecdote -- Two drunken college girls standing in line, looking at the menu board. When they get to the order taker, they ask what is the difference between ground beef nachos and shredded beef nachos. Alcohol does strange things to the mind! :)
They looked at us and ignored us.... we waited for 10 minutes and they never took our order
Had a grilled chicken burrito. Was excellent quality and very heavy flavor. Very filling and reasonably priced. The burrito was perfectly spiced and authentic. Will be back
Authentic Tex Mex menu friendly staff and quick service. Hands down the best local Tex Mex spot I've ever dined at!
Plastic silverware bends easily. Really good shredded chicken quesadilla
great prices, fantastic food and friendly service!
My least favorite option for Mexican. I am giving a low rating because the last time I came to eat the cook was on his phone and didn't seem to care that I was waiting for him. This was during the day too not during their drunk rush late at night. The food is not bad if you can get some.
Nice Place , Good Food & Cute Girls. haha.
Best mexican intown sober or otherwise!
Mexican place that has ok food that captures mostly college student business in it's current location.Had been locally critically acclaimed in their earlier days, but now just ok. Dinning room basic and ready for in and out service no biggie here.
Best grilled chicken nachos in existence. They're open late on weekends and they're cheaper than most places in town. Staff is always super friendly!
Great authentic food. The nachos and 4 flavs of dip were spot on. Will be back.
Excellent traditional Mexican fare. Wonderful selection of complimentary salsas and pickled veg served at your table. Fast service.
The food here is incredible! It’s very authentic Mexican food and so delicious!
Great fast food tex-mex! Perfect for late night cravings
Nice., but small and a little expensive
Absolutely, incredible food at an affordable price. Friendly atmosphere and staff.
Good place for late night nachos. Love the queso here. Don't order soft tacos, the juice from the meat makes them wet and they fall apart in a doughy mess. Chicken or steak nachos are the way to go. The only downside is you'll be waiting in line forever when the bars close and there are so many people there that the staff can't keep up with the cleaning and the drunk people just destroy the restaurant. The staff are very nice considering all they put up with.
It was really good. Nice staff and food was really good
The is good service
Great food
Best food ever! And very nice people that work there I always either eat in or do a pick up
It was ok.
One of the best places to eat in town. Just go there! Tacos are fantastic, nachos are delicious.
Love all their food here
Favorite mexican in columbia affordable with ample portions.
Good food at a pro typical 'hole in the wall' resturant.
It's good.
Best Mexican food in town!
Great food always treated like family when we go always so nice, we're Mexican but don't know Spanish but they still show us love it's great...
Overall it is a great experience over here and I am happy with the delicious food and it is hot fresh and tempting. Serving staff was nice and served very well.
Awesome food just need not to charge so much for extra cheese and don't like that they purposely put little cheese to get u to buy more
Good food
Just judging the food quality for the stake Quezadillas, simply superb. Tastes so good.
The food is not good here. It is extremely greasy and always regret it the next morning. This place has some sanitation issues as well. The employees also drink on the job. Sort of weird.
Best late night food in Columbia! Their chicken enchilada nachos are the best!
Great food, family friendly
Went here for the very first time with my cousin for her birthday. Great food. Friendly staff. Quick Service. I'm ready for another Fajita! They are so big you will need to share it or take some home! Excellent location downtown Columbia, Missouri. Oh! The prices are very reasonable. I saw both college kids and professionals when I went.
The staff is very friendly, the food is outstanding, and the menu is pretty simple because this is comfort food done right and that's not complicated. The homemade salsas and pickles that are served with tortillas are a good indicator of how much they care. Everything we've had has been excellent, but their tamales are pretty amazing. The masa and filling have always been perfect, neither dry nor greasy. Highly recommend this place for great Mexican food.
Some if the best Mexican food in Columbia
The food was fantastic I mean absolutely fantastic. I would have to say we're talking authentic Mexican cuisine, by far the best Omaha has to offer. Thank you to Carmella and her crew for taking me down South for a moment !!
I love El Rancho! A lot of food for your money and great Sunday Brunch!
I was visiting town for a conference and just happened to spot the place. I love it! Authentic food. Speedy service. Hot food. The tray of salsas was something I haven't seen before I loved it. If I ever go into town again I will definitely be stopping there!
Delicious Mexican Food! Dont let the outside/old motel scare you away. There are many delicious entrees inside, tons of options and great prices!
Food was great...
Cheap, good food and lots of it.
Authentic mexican they serve shrimp cocktail.
Awesome small business! great food great prices!
Too Americanized. The food was ok but just nothing worth writing home about.
So damn good. Best chimichangas in CoMo. They come out crispy and delicious. Their shredded chicken nachos are classic.
The best authentic in Omaha! Try it, you'll love it!!!
Gets the job done. The nachos are the best menu item if you're going to venture in at a decent time of day.
Legit. My whole family enjoyed the meal. Definitely will be back.
Good food, in town easy access, inexpensive
The food was pretty good. Not much different than most Mexican food places though. The chips were so-so. They had a salsa platter with several types of salsa to go with chips and dinner. The service wasn't great. Took quite a while for the waitress to take our order. Empty plates were on our table for several minutes which I've never experienced at a Mexican restaurant (the service, especially busing tables, is normally quicker than most places). After waiting about 10 minutes after the plates were cleared, we went up to get the check and pay because the waitress failed to bring it to us.
Big delicious chicken burrito with "revenge". I was tethered to the facilities. Next time I'll just have bread and water.
This place has good food, but when u ask for a CHALUPA and they give you a tostada and claim its a chalupa, thats a deal breaker for me!!
Quick, authentic, you can watch preparation.
Very very impressed. Authentic Mexican food.
My burrito was watery
Great food, great lunch prices.
very very good food.you definitely get more than you pay for. 8 dollars and you leave full with more to eat the next day for lunch !
Authentic and inexpensive...and delicious. Several salsas to choose from.
One of the best Mexican places in Columbia. Must try: grilled chicken nachos.
Worst mexican food I’ve had. The workers are very friendly. But the food is definitely not worth what you pay for.
Excellent food and very authentic.
I love, love, love going here. The salsa they bring to the table us AWESOME!! It is actually one of my favorite parts of the experience. I usually get menudo when I do, but the food that I try from other people's plates has always be good.
We have been going there for at least 7 years and the quality of the service is only surpassed by the authenticity and deliciousness of the meal . Absolutely our favorite Mexican restaurant in town .
Good and cheap
Good food for extremely reasonable prices. Fast service. The staff is very nice, especially considering how much they have to deal with drunk, immature college students.
Perfectly average tasting food for a perfectly average price. It is convenient if you are downtown late at night but I'd rather just save my money and wait until I get home to eat. Most customers late at night are drunk and loud, as you would expect, but the employees are nice.
Good food. Clean
People talk down on this place but my experiences have been great!
I love their authentic atmosphere and taste!! This place is always busy.
Best Mexican downtown.
Not bad but not really very good
Great food and the service is very quick and always nice!
Consistent food that is SO
The food is average and both times I've been to El Ranchero someone in my party has gotten something they didn't order. The service is mediocre, the prices are low, and the building is mostly clean. Worth a try, but I don't recommend anything more.
Good late night spot
Fresh/hot food! Steak nachos, on point
Great food and service
It was super busy
We walked in but didn't stay to eat. We were stared at by the staff with no greeting offered. The smell at the front door of sewer water was overwhelming. We chose a different option nearby.
Shredded chicken nachos for life..
Great late night munchie experience!
Authentic food. Service can be a little slow but things are made to order. Good variety on menu.
Excellent Food, good service... And very well priced...
I love this place for their chicken fajita nachos! And their cheese sauce is absolutely amazing and made from scratch! I have had a pleasant experience there and I usually take my food to go. This is my go-to place whenever I am craving real Mexican Food. I have yet to be disappointed and I have been there 5 times so far. I will keep coming back, just because I truly enjoy their food and service. They seriously have like the best nachos around!
Good value for generic Mexican foods.
Great for a night after drinking
The food is amazing. The staff are always friendly. It's open super late on the weekends.
Great place if you love great burritos. Mui fast service.
LOVE the grilled chicken burrito and nachos! Been going here for years and I have always gotten good food and compassionate service.
Good food for a good price
Amazing food great choices awesome service would highly recommend
Authentic Mexican experience
Food was good. Not great for me but my children enjoyed their tacos. Prices are really reasonable. Overall good experience.
Had two shrimp in my shrimp tacos, one at each end of the taco. I’ve been here twice and the first time was perfect. It’s good food, they just rush and forget things. I would’ve been fine waiting another 5 minutes for more shrimp in my tacos as well as receiving my salsa.
This is easily the best mexican food ive ever had... and Ive had a lot of mexican food in my lifetime!
The food was INCREDIBLE and we got very fast friendly service. Wish we lived in the area!!
I was highly disappointed. I am from Texas so I know quality Mexican food and this was not it. The food tasted very old and the restaurant was not clean. I can not believe the ratings. The employees were polite but aside from that, everything was awful.
Always great
I do recommend them, I love their chilaquiles!!! They can get really busy/full but People come in and out you’ll get a spot quickly.
Tortas, burritos and tacos are good. Seafood is mediocre.Service was quick and helpful going over the menu. Watch for busy times as wait time can be up to 30 min. Overall a good place to eat Mexican food.
Delicious grilled chicken nachos and fish tacos on soft corn tortillas with cilantro and onions! Service isn't the best, but food makes up for it. Love this place!
Absolutely delicious had the best refried beans on the face of the Earth I've ever tasted. The service was absolutely wonderful even though we were English speaking the lady who served us she spoke very fluid English made a very easy order of menu. I don't know I would definitely go back and have some more and try some more the different meals.
This is a real nice place to have a good Mexican lunch. I had a chimichanga lunch (I think that was the name of the dish) and was not disappointed. Good service too.
This place is incredible! They open for lunch during the day, and close after the bar rush, around 2am. Highly recommended for a late night dinner, or just a casual lunch.
Great food! Poor customer service.
Fair prices for good food
The food is very good Mexican food and large portions
Prices tended high, but lots of good tasting food.
Good food in a neighborhood setting.
Good
Is une of the best to me with original mexican food
Never disappointed...... Friendly staff.....food was hot off the grill and yummy!
Nasty, cheap, and tastes like something you could make in your microwave.
Love the chimichangas!
Good food and the horchata is the BOMB. WISH I COULD GET A GALLON
THEY HAVE AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD HERE, JUST LIKE THE AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD THAT I GREW UP ON THE WELDER'S RANCH IN GREENLAKE, TEXAS IN THE 1960'S!!!
My friend said to me your from texas this is the place a tru texmex, loved those asada tacos
I miss the Kansas City location. Their chicken nachos are the best late-night food!
I ate a plate of menudo ummm delicious.
Best Mexican food ever without going to California. Seriously, everything here is awesome, the service and food. A must too and I eat here at least once a week.
A unique hidden gem. Simple yet excellent menu! That's all we need for real deal food. The quality was excellent. The homely feel of the food was awesome. I really enjoyed the El Pastor taco! Good job on the salsa platter!
My hands down favorite Mexican restaurant. They cook the food right in front of you. The food comes out crazy fast. The portions are gigantic. I advice the Grande burrito covered in queso. Also their nachos are huge and shareable.
Very good
I really loved it
Awesome place and very friendly people.
Yum. Homemade real
Great place and service was amazing. Food was awesome, delicious, fresh and hot. Serving staff was fast and served very well.
Cheap good Mexican food
I'm with the other guy. People here in COMO don't know what good Mexican food is. Got the nachos to g o and when I started eating them I couldnt find the cheese. Either they poured it under the chips or it was watered down. It's also very bland. Idk how they managed to make bland Mexican food but they did. Well there was one thing good and that was the steak. I ended up picking it out to eat it by itself.
Totally authentic food I loved it
Great food!!
Grilled Chicken Cheese nachos are great.
Delish! But little greasy - authentic
If i could give them no stars i would, the food was horrible and expensive. Oh and dont forget there was a hair in my kids food.
The best nachos you'll never remember. Good food. Open after the bars close. Nuff said.
Just fantastic! This is the place for Mexican food in Omaha.
Watch out when you get charged they give them selfs tips, this happened 2 days ago yhe night shift the white chubby hispanic lady if it wasn't that i always check my online bank account i wouldn't had Notice and i dont think she has only done that to me .
I love this place and would highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Mexican food! Would totally go again
The very first place I went to when I moved back to Columbia. Friendly service, comfortable atmosphere, and delicious food on the cheap. I could eat their vegetarian nachos any day.
Ok, so you need to be super clear about what you want. I ordered two street tacos and was charged $26 bucks. Somehow they turned two street tacos into three orders of four tacos each. They screwed up the order a second time but were pleasant about correcting it. I wasn't expecting much but they weren't bad for 2am drunk food. They get crazy busy after last call but move their line along. Overall, not bad.
Superb food and service...a must go!
Delicious Late night Mexican food!! Great local family run restaurant
Food was fantastic, service was quick and friendly I will totally come here again!!
Fast food Mexican place. Surely not the best Mexican in town. But gets the job done kinda place. More college crowd . Not expensive at all, not very tasty either. Good place when you are hungry and craving for Tex Mex style. Offer decent chimichangas (greasy though), their Nachos (delicious queso) sell like hot cakes with late night crowd.
Awesome staff and food
From an undergrad to a post grad, this place is worth checking out
Stopped in for a quick dinner. The steak nachos were very good, but just chips, queso and steak. I added an order of guacamole and some pico de gallo. Some Mexican beers and Bud in bottles. I'd come again for fast Mexican.
We are from Denver Colorado and I can tell you this is probably one of the best Mexican restaurants between both States.
This is the best late night place in town. Great tex mex, fast service, good prices and friendly management. This is truly a Columbia staple.
Good food and efficient. Low cost.
The best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Muy buena comida.
Great fopd!
Great for students on the go. Otherwise, self-service, pricey and very, very ordinary.
Can get a tasty burrito the size of your head for excellent price. Love this place.
Poor food taste!!
Love it here. It's an unhealthy addiction.
Drunk snacks? Yes, please. Might not be the best, but it's my favorite. Love the nachos!
Fantastic authentic food. Best Horchata ever! Muy bueno!
Good late night Mexican eats. Fajita quesadilla.
So very good, every time!!
Best Mexican food place i have ever been to, highly recommend this place
I've been eating here for over 14 years. Always delicious! Always friendly. Great priced. Great portions!
Service is GR8
Fast services and friendly customer service when you have a question they answer you right words and good services
Fantastic and fast service. food was amazing and we got it really fast
Great food and Great Service. And friendly Staff. 2 nd. Time here.always Great!!!
The food is generally very good as was the service. When they get busy it gets quite noisy inside so if you need a quiet venue then you may want to eat elsewhere. Chips and multiple salsa flavors were provided and well enjoyed by our group. Overall a good place to eat.
My first time EVER at El Rancho was wonderful! My boyfriend introduced me to the restaurant as one of his favorites and it's now one of my own. The staff is wonderful and efficient and make sure they get your order right and out quickly! If I could I would visit the restaurant more often
El Rancho serves fine Mexican cuisine! Excellent salsa variety and the tacos are great. Make sure to order a margarita for the full experience!
Seriously the best grilled chicken nachos. It’s a bit of a dive but the food is worth it! Kids love it - they call it “the quesadilla place.”
Great authentic Mexican food for a reasonable price!
Absolutely disgusting. Do not go here sober
Taste like child hood back in Cali
Always delicious!
Best late night food on Broadway. Get there early!
Food and service are always good. I love this place, I've been coming here for years and it's always been great.
Great service always and authentic food. Very reasonably priced.
The best burrito I have ever had!
I went to this place a lot in my college days because the food was great and acceptably priced. Now every time I come back to central Missouri I never miss a chance to stop here because it is still consistently great, the cooks still remember my wife and I, and the only this that every changes is the young girl behind the counter. If you get the chance, definitely stop by.
Always a pleasure to show up at this place, especially at late night. Sometimes very entertaining with the after bar crowd. Good food. Really comprehensive menu. Worth it taste at least once. If not every week. Do yourself a favor and try it.
Fantastic drunk food. Get the chicken nachos.
Love the food!
Google reviews should be weighted by chronology. El Rancho used to be a really good place to go. It's a Columbia staple and a University tradition. Workers go there for lunch, and drunk college students stumble in for greasy Tex-Mex food late at night. Lately though, it's more about the nostalgia than the food or service. My last three experiences have been less than satisfactory. The first of those three, the restaurant was packed, and the line was moving quickly, but the quality of food was horrible. The cheese on the nachos was watery, and there wasn't much meat at all. My second visit, I asked for chorizo tacos. I figured since they made chorizo fajita burritos, they could put it in a taco. I was wrong. They would not stray from their menu, except that you can order a chorizo burrito when it's only shown as an option for the chorizo fajita burrito. It irked me, but not nearly as much as tonights experience. I walked in around 9:45. I was the only customer. There was a woman at the register, and a man behind the grill. Neither greeted me. Neither even acknowledged me. I stood there for about 5 minutes in which time, the guy behind the grill walked into the back, and the woman behind the register walked out into the dining area. Neither of them said, "hello" or "I'll be right back" or "Sorry for the wait". I could have understood if they were busy, but as I stated, I was the only person in line. I turned and walked out. I will be back. My friends gave up on El Rancho a year or two ago, but I will continue to pay for my sentimentality a little longer, before accepting the fact that the El Rancho I knew and loved is gone.
One of the best Mexican places in Columbia. Super cheap super quick and amazing food. Agua de orchata is unreal.
The food servings are small and very expensive. They took very long.they attended some customers quickly who came 7 minutes after me and my family while we were still waiting for service. I ordered guac and it costed 6 dollars which is outrageous because they gave me what would be worth only one avocado and it wasn't even that good. I wouldn't recommend this place.
I love this place! Some people think it's only good when you're intoxicated.. I would highly disagree. El rancho is flame. its not like the kind of food you would get at a normal Mexican restaurant. It's different but it's bomb
The best, freshest and authentic Mexican cuisine! My fav is steak nachos!
The food is legend. Epic late night Mexican food.
Love El Rancho always fresh always fast one of the best in town
For Love this place, top definitely in my top 5 for como
The food was mediocre at best, but I'm very mad because I was supposed to get four tacos. I only got three(one of the other tacos had an extra shell) and every single one of them was soggy like I got them and the bottoms were already falling through without even having to pick them up. And the wait time was ridiculous, I mean all the meat and shells and stuff were premade all they had to do was put it together. Anyway I was very disaponted. I guess that's why you should NEVER get Mexican in Missouri.
Oh the drunken 1 am nights I have spent here. Foods alright sober, but may be the best thing you have ever eaten after a bender at the bars.
These Fish tacos are out of this world good, delicious, fantastic. Everything here is mighty tasty!
Great food!!! Service has always 100 percent great. I recommend this restaurant and there food to everyone one I know and they are never disappointed.
This is easily my favorite mexican restaurant in columbia. I would like to give it 5 stars but the customer service is not the best.
Good food authentic!
Chimichangs better than El Magwae
Hard to find but well worth the search.
Not bad
Great food and service. Will definitely go back and try other dishes.
It's ok.
Incredible authentic food at a charming place. The tacos and barbacoa plate are very tasty.
Friendly service good chow.
I get my food fast
I like, pretty good.
All the sauses weren't the best and ordering soda came in the soda can
Good food at a reasonable price
Cheap ingredients. Even after some drinks it tasted bad.
Very quick and fast service. Best drunk food in town. El Rancho is always there for you.
One of my top picks for sit down tacos. The salsa tray is impressive and tasty. The tacos were delicious and I love how they give you a frozen mug for beers.
Was not a fan. The nachos are okay but there are so many better Mexican Restaurants in town to choose from.
Food is always delicious!
Food was Spicer than I expected
I've seen some of the reviews saying the people working here didn't greet them or that the place has gone downhill. If the people who work here don't seem friendly or outgoing, they may just feel uncomfortable around native born Americans. It's no secret that there are plenty of Americans who think people from south of the border shouldn't be here. So whenever a group of people walk into this restaurant, the employees may wonder if you're there to eat or there to cause trouble. I can't say I wouldn't worry about that if I was one of them. Then again, they may have been very busy or were just trying to do their jobs without making any mistakes. Whatever the case, I've been eating in this restaurant since it opened and I've never been dissatisfied with the food or the service and I've never felt unwelcome or that the people working here dislike me or take me for granted. I wish everyone would cut these people some slack and consider what it might be like to be a Hispanic immigrant living here in 2018.
If you are drunk probably really good, sober not so much
Good food, good prices.
Excellent place to have ur event. Owner is pretty nice and polite. Good place for a good time.
Good food one of my favorites places to eat and for cheep
Nice place, good service, good food, you need to try the ceviche and the carne asada tacos
Incredible specials. Taqueria quality tacos with fresh ingredients at this family owned and operated gem. This is the real deal.
They serve my favorite chicken fajita nachos.
I would recommend the tacos. For my liking there’s to many tables and hard to walk around if it is full. But really good food.
Great food, amazing gordita, I love the atmosphere very relaxed and clean. I think servers can do a better job at being more attentive since they didnt refill my drinks until maybe 35 minutes after. Other than that good food, very good.
