Looking for "comfort food" - nothing fancy. I had the soup and house salad. Note: the house salad is medium size with a lot of cheese, etc. It is between a small chef salad and bland house salads at other restaurants. Finished about 90%. I was full. Also, the waitress provided good service. This is a an ideal place just to grab a bite to eat.

Wow. Just wow. The burger I had was simple and amazing. Not like these fancy restaurants with aioli crap. I had a double with cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion. One of the best in a while. And for cheap. And the fries were a perfect complement to the burger. Topped it all off with a Mic Ultra. Awesome experience. Definitely will be coming back

Great place to go in nice weather as they have a delightful little patio. They have a very diverse menu with a lot of choices, but they are famous for their Hugo burgers. Try their delicious homemade chips as a side, or pay a small upcharge to French fries or onion rings. Try their $6.99 lunch special during the week which comes with a single cheeseburger, fries or chips, and a soft drink. The service is great and I have never waited more than fifteen minutes for my meal. Never ate here except for lunch, but seems like it would be a great place to go and spend an evening with some drinks and good friends as well. Parking can be a bit tight but is usually not difficult in normal vehicles such as SUVs, pickups etc. Saw a gentlemen try to bring an RV here once but would not recommend that. Overall I would definitely recommend Cousin Hugo's as a neat little place to go for lunch, dinner or just drinks. Seems mostly family friendly as well, but don't know if that could change in the evenings.

Sorry to Olive Garden but when you are at Cousin Hugos you are family!! A friendly atmosphere, and great food.....best burgers in town and awesome wings. Also, a great place to watch a game. I've been there to see the last 2 St. Louis Championships and hope to see another one in the very near future. LET'S GO BLUES!!!

This review is a little mixed. On one hand it is a chill atmosphere (depending on the time and day) with good service and good burgers. On the other hand, it's pretty dark inside and everything is served on throw away plates and utensils. So if you are looking for a townie bar, this is a good place to go! If you're out on the town or trying to impress someone, maybe try this place a different time.

This is a very loud, crowded Bar & Grill. We like to go there on Thursday for their special which is a very good meat loaf, served with green beans and mashed potatoes. Mostly middle-aged patrons. A place to let your hair down - not fancy by any stretch.

The restaurant is a bit cramped, which is probably a testimony to how good the food is. They need to squeeze in as many seats as possible to handle their popularity. They serve typical bar fair, plus some really quaint home cooking. It's quite tasty, and the lunch specials are a good deal.

It took a lot of deliberation to settle on my 2 star rating. The food came out hot and was presented well. Unfortunately I ordered the Vegan Burger & Chips (and asked specifically about cheese in the burger and was told no) and while the chips were good, the Vegan burger contained mozzarella and cheddar cheese bits in the patty. I have been cheese free my whole life (I have a violent reaction to eating it) and know it when I see it in my food. The waitress was busy and while she kept our waters filled, she did not check on our food. I ended up eating all the chips and when those were gone and she still hadn't returned (and being still hungry), I took the patty off and ate the bun with 1 piece of leaf lettuce and a single tomato slice. I guess that's kind of a vegan burger. When she returned to take our dishes, she finally noticed I didn't eat the patty. I told her there was cheese in it. She said there wasn't but she would check again. Her check did uncover the mozzarella and cheddar cheese ingredients. She apologized took $3 off my meal and offered to have the owner come over with a sheet of ingredients showing there was cheese in the burger. I asked her not to bother, as I was trying to have a conversation with my friend. And after twice more coming to the tablet, she got the owner involved anyway. He spent several minutes explaining that there was cheese in the burger. (I know. I told them it was cheese). He said he'd be looking around for a different product for the Vegan burger and I said that was nice, because if the burger includes cheese, it is vegetarian but not vegan. He also apologized. But at the end of the whole experience, I was presented with a product that was not what I asked for, not what was advertised and I was charged $5.18 for a handful of chips, a bun, a tomato slice, and a small piece of lettuce. I appreciate the apologies but I would have rather had one apology and be left alone to converse with my friend. I was only visiting St Louis and I'm sure their meat meals are great, but I will continue my Vegan Burger meal search elsewhere.

My best friend and I used to go here every night in our youth for pitchers of Miller lite and wings. Twenty years later, the place is just as amazing. Cheap, fun, good bar food. Everything a great dive bar should be.

This is an awesome little pub with some of the friendliest staff. Awesome draft beer selection. Don't expect anything super out of the ordinary in the food department. That being said, the food is great and they do offer a couple of head scratchers in the form of a tamale plate and a braunschweiger sandwich. Had the braunschweiger myself and it was a pleasant change from the typical sandwiches offered at bars. Definitely go there and feel the cozy vibes and reminisce about the old rocket park and how you failed your driver's test across the street.

Sat at the bar with a friend. Had two different bartenders due to shift changes. Both were equally polite, attentive and seemed to enjoy their job. We had AB beer products and they were ice cold. There were 2 big screens in front of us playing different sports channels. Didn't get the chance to order food but we bumped into another friend and his wife who ate dinner in the restaurant and told us to bring our wives next time because the food is great.

If you want a good burger at a good price, this is the place to go. It is a no frills burger,but it is cooked as you want it with tasty and fresh adds (lettuce, onion, tomatoes, etc.). This is a great place to go for lunch or just hang out with your friends.

I used to go here and get the lunch special and take it back to the office. I went there today and the bartender told me they were not supposed to be offering food to go - she wanted me to eat there. Said management yells at her when she lets people take food to go. Seems like an odd policy. Maybe people are taking food to go and not tipping her. I always leave a dollar for to go orders but with her attitude I could see how people wouldn’t. The food is great but the no-to-go orders is probably going to prevent me from going back.

Deluxe grilled cheese is to die for. Love the nachos too. Seem to get the fried mushrooms every time I go too. My husband likes their chicken wings. Cheap drinks. Same owner (danny) for 30 years now. We had my dad's retirement party here, my 21st, both of my siblings 21sts, and all the times in between! I love it for big parties and celebrations as well as lunch or dinner or deinks for 2. Plenty of corners to disappear into and talk. They let you decorate and do what you want. Can't smoke inside anymore but the patio is gorgeous and overlooks the park which is nice.

Stopped in with my best friend Mary Anne. We were very disappointed, the food wasn't as good as it used to be. We had to wait for 20 (twenty) minutes to get our check before we could leave. I told my friend Mary Anne, we should dine & dash, we waited for so long. If I had any idea what the bill was going to be, I'd just left the money on the table & left. But it had been so long since we had been in there, we didn't want to get in trouble w the law. So we waited, & waited & waited & waited, you get the hint. Finally we asked another female to send our waitress out with our check or we were leaving without paying her. She came out & was feeling just fine ????I wasn't real happy w the service that day , or with the food. Both were way below par that day.

I/we go to Hugo’s 6-7 times a month. Today we went and it seems as things have changed. First we ordered chicken tenders for a child and they were so done they were hard, we asked for replacements and the cook told us that they are new tenders and they need to be cooked longer and that’s the way it is. Second we ordered a side of fries and a side of onion rings... these seemed to be a good half the amount as we normally are used to receiving. It was not a good visit. I am so disappointed.
