Great taco's for me and everyone else enjoyed their delicious food. Loved this place as a kid when it was in the old Vicksburg Mall. Nice to be able to eat there while visiting family in Vicksburg.

While traveling thru from Texas to Alabama, my husbsnd and I stopped at Rowdy's. EVERYTHING was on point. The burgers were huge and cooked perfectly. The fried okra was to die for and the onion rings were the best i have ever had. The restaurant is set up nicely and the staff were all very nice. Good stuff, don't pass this place up if you are traveling into Vicksburg Mississippi!

Just what you'd expect from a downhome, southern style, family restaurant. Catfish was great, fried and blackened. No wonder it was voted best in Vicksburg. Get the breaded fries with Johnny's sauce. Bobbie, our waitress, was so friendly and attentive. We'll be back next time in Vicksburg.

The catfish, the fries, the hush puppies, the cornbread, even the ketchup (catsup?). Not what I was expecting. Your experience might be different (better).

Took 10 min to get someone to come out to sit us, and another 10 min for a waitress to come ask us about our drinks. After we order...add another 30 to 40 min for our food to finally come out (guess the food is CAUGHT to order). Fish was alright but the wife's shrimp p.o boy was very scarice...guess they are on a budget with 4 pieces of shrimp per big a$$ bun. Definitely have had better service years earlier, but I guess it is now a millennial generation restaurant. Won't be back.

We were traveling through Vicksburg and read about Rowdy's, so decided we should do local. So disappointed! A lot of yelling from kitchen, side was wrong, but corrected, but all sides came out cold. Catfish slightly undercooked. Waitress took forever to bring water- restaurant not busy. Wadded up place mat lying on floor in central aisle on way to our table- several employess saw it, but walked past it, ignoring it, actually kicking it down a couple of tables at one point. Waitress went to get our ticket, took forever, came out of kitchen finally without it - we eventually went up to front. Employee rolling up silverware was on cell phone between rolls. We will not be back.

This place is not worthy of being called a Taco Casa. We ate in and the place was empty except for employees. The first thing we noticed that was wrong was they shorted us one taco. We ordered onions on three of the bean burritos and they charged extra for onions, but when the burritos were delivered they had no onions or sauce. We showed the burritos to the waitress and she said they would remake them. They did remake them wrong for a second time and forgot the sauce again. The flour tortillas that wrapped the burritos we're not toasted or cooked, they seemed like raw tortillas. The meat and beans were nearly flavorless and the sauce had no flavor either. This is the worst taco casa I have ever visited and I am a big fan of taco casa usually. The men's bathroom was filthy and needed cleaning. This place also charges for ice water which is pretty uncommon. Avoid at all costs, this place is awful.

The catfish was some of the best I've had (and I've been eating catfish my whole life), as were all the sides -- the cornbread, hush puppies, turnip greens, black-eyed peas, fried dill pickle slices, and on and on. Everything was great, including the service and the value for the price. When I'm in Vicksburg again, I want definitely to visit Rowdy's.

Great experience! We were greeted at the door and quickly seated. Our host was very helpful and pleasant. We ordered the sampler, catfish plate and tenders alacarte'. Portions were very, very generous and the food was delicious. I personally loved the fried pickles, tenders and the cornbread muffins. Tenders were real chicken breast cut up and hand battered. All in all it was a great experience and we will definitely be returning. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience!

I have been dining here for years, actually since they opened in 88. I make it a point to eat here as often as possible and will often take a detour to vicksbourg on my travels just to grab some catfish

The food was good but COLD. The staff took it back 3 times to REHEAT it finally we gave and ate it. I thought maybe we were being too picky BUT several others table sent a variety of dishes back because it was cold. The waitress we had seemed to be VERY bothered we were asking for HOT food. Service this Sunday was poor. And this is NOT the first, second, or third this has happened. I will not be returning respectfully.

It's ok. I can see it being a vicksburg staple, but not necessarily a tourist attraction... the decor makes it seem that way but the food was underwhelming. Great service. Took like 10 mins for someone to come seat us and even longer for someone to come check us out... we had fried pickles(greasy)... i had a fish plate..

The staff was great and very helpful. We had the family fried shrimp came with two sides we choose fried okra and fried onion rings. The food was so good fresh and hot. Our waitress suggestion was a prefect fit for us. Thank you Bobbie for taking such good care of us.

The food is delicious I got a bacon cheese burger and battered fries(which are a must) and it was delicious! Also no one was in there we were there at 2:30 so my kid played around while we waited on the food and the staff loved her and played with her. Good staff good food what more could you want

Rowdy's serves excellent southern-style seafood, which mostly means fried, but not exclusively. It's not a fancy place, but the people are friendly, the food is good, and it's an all-around pleasantly southern experience. Whenever I find myself driving I-20 either direction, I make it a point to stop in Vicksburg to drive the battlefield and stop at Rowdy's.

Was traveling from VA to TX, stopped here since it was near the hotel and wanted some catfish. It was good, although as with catfish anywhere, there was a small bone(no biggie though). Waitress was slow to refill drinks.

The food wasn't the worst I've ever had but the service was the worst I've had in a long time! You'd be hard pressed to find a waitress who could care less than Renee. We had to ask other wait staff for almost everything. She was unfriendly and inattentive. It's really a shame too seeing as this was our last meal in Vicksburg. :( If you want my advice I'd go hungry til supper and go directly across the street to The Beechwood! The owner himself went table to table there and the food was unbelievable and staff wonderful! Or go into town n eat at 10 South or Walnut Hills! They are pricier but with ever penny.

I took my kids to Rowdy's last night for supper. This was a first time for my kids & it's been about 15 years since I'd been. I'm happy to see that the food was as great as I remembered & the staff was just as friendly too. I ordered the 1/4 lb. fried catfish, mashed potatoes & blackeyed peas. The catfish was excellent & I was full off of the 1/4 lb plate. My daughter got the Rowdy & my son ordered the kids meal corndog & fried okra. My daughter said her burger was the best & liked that it wasn't greasy. My son wasn't a fan of the corndog but loved the okra. I highly recommend this place. Kid friendly. The prices are reasonable, atmosphere is friendly & casual & the food is wonderful!

At first I was confused by the menu. Who eats 6 pieces of catfish and calls it a "small" order. It all became clear when the food appeared--the pieces are strips, not whole fillets. Otherwise, the fish was good, but a little too salty. The sides also were good, and the server's recommendation that our table of 5 order the starter sampler plate was spot on. I'll be sure to visit again the next time I'm in Vicksburg.

I have been staying in Vicksburg a few weeks this is the best place I have eaten at it is not the same kind of seafood you would eat on the Mississippi Gulf Coast but is decent for this area little overpriced but staff was amazing

Good food. Vanessa was our waitress, and she was super friendly and attended to our needs promptly. The temperature in the building was a little on the cool side, as a result some of the food was not as warm as it should have been.

Do not I repeat no not come here. Even taco bell is better then this. Tortillas are raw, got tiger stripes on them and cold. Chile con queso is cold. Beans were cold and basically the refried beans you get in the can. SAVE YOUR MONEY PLEASE PEOPLE

The advertisement said "If you haven't eaten at Rowdy's, then you haven't visited Vicksburg." I don't know about that. Our server took our drink order and asked if we were ready to order. We asked for another few minutes and she disappeared. We waited quite a bit and finally had to signal someone to come take the order. The food was OK, but it didn't just blow me away. The prices were about normal and the portions were adequate, but not large. The menu listed "French fries" and "battered fries". I ordered one and got the other. I just ate them instead of sending my plate back and waiting longer to eat. Annoying, but not the end of the world.

The hamburger steak my wife got was great, taste like cooked on grill then added gravy and baked potato, its great. Now my seafood platter, the catfish over salty a long with clams.the fried shrimp was great, over priced for plate at around $21. Salad, no good for me. I like normal plain lettice, not spinach and purple lettice. Over all 1 through 10 I'll give a 5 because of hamburger steak.

After 3 people in our party received cold potatoes (that came from a bag) we asked for replacements. They must have hyper-nuked the new spuds as they were still steaming when we left 10 minutes later. We did not eat the warms ones either as the taste was not good. The burgers were a bit dry and the fries were cold. The water's chlorine taste could not be covered by the lemons we asked for when we ordered. In all, I expected more after reading the reviews. McDonald's would be a better choice IMO. The waitress may have been having a bad day, but she did not even ask if we would like to try the world famous Mississippi Mud Pie before she laid our bill on the table and walked away.

Haven't gotten my food yet but when it comes I'll be too tired to eat it because I'm in a battle with a squadron of flies. There are dozens of ways to prevent flies in a place this size. ALL THE FOOD WAS OFFENSIVE I'M ASHAMED I ATE SOME OF IT. The nasty mop water flavored turnip greens with globs of fat from some mystery meat was horrible, microwaved soupy mac and cheese was like something you cough up from a bad chest cold. The menu read "home made" mac and cheese but this looked like a bowl of melted yellow crayon while the macaroni pasta was cooked for hours probably on the sun, that pasta was done a long time ago. Now those fish sticks "salty thin catfish" tasted frozen and thawed then frozen again and thawed one more time, it's basically the same size catfish they serve at Popeye's but this left a taste in my mouth that can only be described as empty cabinets. Waste of money for cold, dry, struggle shrimp. I'm leaving hungry and disappointed in this place. I've had better corn bread at golden corral. Spreading butter on the corn bread muffin is a waste of good butter, the muffin shattered when I took a bite then the flies flew in my ear. Cracker barrel turnip greens are on steroids compared to what they are serving at this place. I think the hot sauce is watered down too. I do not recommend this place and I had high hopes. There's a reason the waitress didn't come back after bringing the food.

Unfortunately, our experience was quite poor. Other than the waitress taking our order, we did not see her again until we asked someone else to send her over (that was after waiting 10-15 minutes after we finished what we could eat of our meal). The fries were cold, never received our coleslaw, found a bone in the chicken pot pie and no drink refills. One compliment that I can offer is that the catfish was very good. Unfortunately, this place did live up to the hype. My advise is to find somewhere else to dine.
