Ate for late lunch (around 1:00) and found the food delicious but unkept at buffet. The rice had hardened and the meat was missing in curries. As I was paying the cashier asked about the meal and then made a fresh to go meal inclusive of meat. Treat this place like a home away from home. Ask for corrections before you eat for best result. Great value!

BUFFET REVIEW ONLY: I have been looking forward to trying this place out for quite sometime (@ least a year). I happened to be nearby during lunchtime, so I checked it out. I was a bit disappointed. There wasn't a very big selection on the buffet (for $11+ per person, $25+ for two). Mostly soupy/creamy dishes intended to put on rice, two chicken options, two dishes with potatoes, white rice & rice with veggies added...for a total of about 10-12 options. It would have been beneficial to have (at least) a 2 or 3 word explanation of what each dish was...posted at least somewhere. The 1-2 word Indian name was not helpful to me. I will not try the buffet again. The waiter was very cordial, by the way. The food (whatever it was I was eating) was tasty. I used to eat curry lamb when I lived in the Wash DC area, so I would be willing to try 'off the menu' entrees in the future.

We were happy to see they had a large vegetarian section on the menu. The food was delicious and place was clean. Don't let the sign outside scare you away. This place is definitely good and we will be returning on our next trip here.

Excellent lunch buffet that's perfect if you're new to Indian cuisine. There isn't a huge selection but the food available is awesome. The owner is great and very helpful if you're confused. Order the mango lassi - basically a mango milkshake/smoothie; it is very tasty.

Well Items were very less for around $11.50 buffet price. They had 3 chicken items seen first but later when I went to take spoons, owner seen to put same chicken in three chicken items. I have eaten in lots of Indian restaurants and this is the worst. We had seen flies in the desert areas. People who haven’t eaten typical Indian food are going to experience worst modified tasteless Indian food if they are planning to go over there.

Worst buffet I have ever eaten. Owner put same chicken in 3 chicken tikka, chicken korma and chicken curry. No chicken found in chicken biryani, flies seen in desert side. No paneer found in paneer tikka masala. I wont suggest this place even if you get free food. Absolutely disgusting place.

Wow!!! This was an awesome surprise! Great food. Restaurant is on the first floor of an old wooden home so expect some character but don't let that effect your expectations of what your meal will be. Mango Lassi was great (more mango than yogurt) and homemade mango ice cream was amazing. Lots of choices on the buffet or order from the menu. Putting this down as an 'enjoy again' when we are over Gulfport way.

The lunch buffet was just ok. The food served were super soupy and not a whole lot of meat.... literally! The naan was a good size and fresh so that was a plus. If you want to eat at this place, I highly recommend to stay clear from the buffet and just order from the menu... might have better luck that way.

Vegan in the deep south that was DELIGHTED to find this friendly place with amazing food. Most of the buffet is vegan along with a huge selection on the menu. Fried items are also gluten free. Orchid really knows what they are doing and are happy to accommodate special requests. Such a wonderful time and delicious meal every time. Definitely must visit if you find yourself in southern Mississippi.

We absolutely love Orchid!!! We can always find something to eat with dairy & gluten allergies. The staff are wonderfully helpful and always point out what we can eat. They also have a delicious bread we can have too! My 3 1/2 yr old loves it!!! And my vegetarian friend can always find choices as well. Indian food is my favorite! Family friendly too and my son has a crush on the little girl that is often there on the weekends. :-)

The food is all really good, and the buffet is a great change from the usual. I recommend it without qualification. I do wish there was a cheat sheet (I'm a little inexperienced with Indian cuisine). The parking is chaotic. Not sure why the rear entrance is not open in order to cycle traffic through instead of the sliding puzzle that breaks out when there's more than three cars in the lot.

The chicken tasted like warmed over leftovers. The rice was dry with crunchy pieces. How do you mess up tandoori chicken? I had the buffet to get a bit of all the dishes I like. We are OBSESSED with this place. We don’t even live in MS anymore but come here regularly (see: every day) when in town visiting family 2-3 times a year. The owner is so kind and helpful, the food is hands down the best Indian we’ve ever had (flavorful, unique, and consistent every time with deliciousness). The options are healthy & diverse, too. They are moving from Teagarden road to Hardy Court in April. Excited to visit the new location on our next visit. :) Ps - for the one star reviews, oh my gosh, so obviously trolls on here all claiming the same things with names of Indian descent. Sad, sad, sad. No one be distracted by these silly reviews. Go give it a try for YOURSELF and I promise you’ll become a regular. ;)

One of the worst food ever. I think this place must be inspected by the health department. We went in group of 11 people , we were very hungry and thought we would love the buffet but the items in the buffet was not fresh at all, the presentation was horrible. Orchid is definitely a family favorite! The buffet is fantastic. Several different delicious food options at a great price. The Chicken as well as the Vegetable Korma are amazing! The Garlic Naan bread is highly addictive. For dessert, the Mango ice cream is the best finishing touch. We dine here often, and if you've not visited this establishment, I highly recommend you do. You'll become an Orchid "regular" too!

My wife and I discovered this little gem about a year ago right after we found out she was pregnant and have fallen in love with the food and owner. He is always there and beyond friendly, and makes us feel special during every single visit. I've been eating Indian food for years at dozens of restaurants all over the country (military brat) and can honestly say this has been my favorite with their balance between quality and price. I implore you to try this place with any level of experience with the exotic culture that Indian food has to offer. The owner will always give you tips on what to try depending on how adventurous you are feeling with a smile and a few cracked jokes. They have a buffet that will not disappoint (call ahead for times, I can't remember of the top of my head) and dozens of amazing entrees and unique deserts.

Really enjoyed the food, the staff and owner are very friendly and knowledgeable. Everything was filled with such flavor and they will adjust the spices to meet your taste buds dreams. Its a small place, so you get excellent service and the floor plan gives you a nice sense of intimacy, and was quite and peaceful during our time there. You can dress casual but its welcoming to have real white tablecloths while dinning. A must go try.

Some of the food in the buffet looked like it had been sitting there for a while though. They could have also better labeled some of their items. I had no idea what I was eating, but I sure loved it. The main improvement would be to use better ingredients, particularly better chicken meat that currently seems to be of the worst quality I have ever had. Hope my review helps the owner/manager

The owners are sincere and genuinely kind people! This restaurant is a tie with Phoenicia Gourmet as my favorites in the area. I always order chicken korma, pashwari naan, mango lassi (mango yogurt smoothie) w/no ice and homemade mango ice cream. One of my friends and I always do our annual Christmas lunch here. The view of the gulf is very relaxing and pleasant. Highly recommend!

The lunch buffet is amazing. I've eaten once for dinner and ordered a combination dinner that the owner (?) recommended. It was all very good, but I prefer to eat here for the lunch buffet. Nothing is insanely spicy (hot) on the buffet, in fact there is very little that is spicy. Some people worry that all Indian food is extremely spicy but at Orchid it's not the the case. Check out the lunch buffet, especially if you have not eaten Indian food before. A hidden gem.

My fiance and I LOVE this place. The food os phenomenal and atmosphere is great. Lunch buffet is the best but at night you can order from the menu and it's great too. The owner is always there working 7 days a week. He is very friendly and an awesome guy. If your tired of everyday food, give this place a try. I love this place. I have to drive 45 minutes to eat here. I happily make the drive at least once a week. And the staff is super. They remember me and take care of my food allergies without me even mentioning it after only two visits. The food is fantastic. I'm a lightweight and can't handle very much spice, they are always very accommodating. I recommend The Orchid to anyone who will listen. I have treated many friends because it's so affordable. I can't say enough praise.

Nice family owned Indian restaurant. When traveling back from New Orleans to Atlanta, searched for Indian food we found and walked in. They have converted a home to an restaurant, you cannot expect like a traditional restaurant atmosphere. I think we walked at the peak time, Staff / owner greeted us and provided us the seats. So we started exploring the buffet options and having nice mugalai non veg / veg options, we started our feast. Owner walked to as and provided us with spicy chicken curry with bread's (Nan). It's was really nice. This restaurant seems to be popular among the local neighborhood. They are having so many American customer's, that proves that buffet dishes are less spicy. But they have complimented with the spicy chicken curry. My suggestion to the owners is to keep some ice cream bowels to enjoy the mouth watering home made mango ice cream, I had it twice on the plates. After such a nice buffet when we walked to pay, I was surprised with the price is low for a such good quality food. Friendly staff / owner asked about the visit. I shared this location to my friends to visit when they go for a trip to this area.

Im almost certian the chicken tikka masala had no garam masala in it whatsoever. The chicken was bland and rubbery and the sauce was like water, the vegitable somosas had no flavor, the little chips they bring out at the beginning of service (which i have never seen in any indian restaurant, usually they bring papadum) were soggy and stale. The inside was was just as disgusting as the food. Every few seconds you could hear a loud pop as a bug exploded on a bug zapper, it smelled rancid like old food, and the bathrooms were gross. I am saddened that people are willing to eat this and think that it is indian food. If you want real Indian take a trip up to Nashville or even over to New Orleans you could even make food at home that is better than this.

I don’t know. The food was ok. All I will say is that if you want spicy ask for the very very spicy option. The food is obviously made for a specific type of person and not for people looking for authentic Indian Food. The staff is very friendly!

The waiter there is probably the world's best waiter. Menu can be confusing (I'm Indian, but Indian dishes sound foreign even with the ingredients listed in the menu) so just tell him what you like. Been there 3 times and great dishes each time.
