Cowbells is arguably the best nightspot available in Starkville featuring the best Bartender alive (Chris). Space is definitely not an issue here but I would advise you get there early to avoid long lines!!

This place is terrible. When I first walked up the bouncer would not let me in because I was wearing a Dak Prescott cowboys jersey, so i put on a jacket and had to pay a 10$ cover for a bar that was dead. Don't go Here!

They usually have good bands and DJ's, but you will smell like you work in a cigarette factory the next morning.

I am truly appalled by how I was treated here. I never go to Cowbells, it is not my scene, I do not do late nights. However, tonight was my best friend’s birthday and we are seniors and we were trying to make it here one night before we graduate in May. I was standing in line with about 20+ others who all decided to go together for my friends birthday. I also knew others in line, some in high school, who were getting in, with fake 21 year old ID’s. It comes my turn to show my ID, all of my friends have gone before me. I had my $10 for the cover and my ID in hand. He shined his black light all over my ID and then I was drilled on my ID, which is explainable, I am from New Jersey, not an ID I would assume he sees often. He suddenly says no, I am not allowed in, after answering all the questions about an address I have only known growing up. Kindly, I said, “Sir, here is my insurance card, debit card, two credit cards, student ID, you can see when it was issued, I am about to graduate!” He out of no where, so rude and disrespectful said “you know what you just are not allowed in.” I did nothing wrong, he was thrown off because I am not from Mississippi, I am assuming. Many people in the line who happened to know me said “She is 21, she’s older than me, she’s a senior!” He said “I don’t care, I don’t want her in here.” I was all the way at the end of Starkville and he allowed all of my friends in and I was outside by myself. The manager did not care that I was being mistreated and I calmly explained to him what had happened. I was nothing but nice and tried to explain what happened, however he sided with the bouncer that was so rude to me. I cannot understand why he did this to me except that I am a “northerner.” I truly felt discriminated against and hours later, I still cannot believe how I was treated.

I come here every weekend to hang out with summer of my best friends. I totally get the shrimp player with mushrooms, which is pretty good. I don't drink, so I can't speak on the alcohol selection or quality, but the rest of the bar seems to enjoy it. The music is always pretty good. Cowbells definitely isn't for everyone, but I enjoy hanging out here.

Cowbells is really nice. They have specials several days a week and the place is really nice and clean. Staff are very friendly and they have several pool tables. This is one of the nicer bars around and can be a lot of fun to go to if it isn't too crowded. There is usually a $5 cover charge to get in.

They kicked me out of the bar because some minors took shots while I was in the bathroom. I came out of the bathroom and they said I gave them the shots when I did not even know them. I strongly do not recommend this bar!!!

Atmosphere is great, people are great, and pool tables are great. Service isn't the best after a game (super busy) drinks are not mixologist level. Still a great place for 18 to 35 year olds.

I was told I could not re enter with my $10 armband. What’s the armband for? It’s like that one time in Romania I paid to get into a strip club with only one dancer. Has that ever happened to you? It’s the worst. She was up there all sad like, alone, and afraid. You see, human trafficking is a huge problem there and homes are destroyed by this terrible and European practice. Fortunately in Trumps America this will never happen. Bottom line, I was promised line dancing. There were no lines, or dancing. I left. Then remembered i forgot my beer. I was not allowed back in. Just like the time i was at a Romanian strip club. Negative six to nine stars.

It’s not terrible, but you will spend days washing out the smell of cigarette smoke out of your hair and clothes. The music is a mix between “wobble”-like dance music and country. The do mix drinks better than most of the other bars for better prices, but they have a $10 cover.

Depending on personal preference Cowbells can be your favorite spot for a drink with the guys. I love it the music is great, they bring some great DJs, and every now and then they bring a band. They also have pool tables for a dollar. The food is great, the staff is even better, the nicest i have ever met.

I would leave negative stars if possible. The bartenders were hateful and unfortunately, they were nicer and more courteous than the "security". Ive heard the security was nothing more than a bunch of a@#holes. Turns out, they are. I will NEVER go back. NEVER. Give little boys that were picked on as small children a little authority, they will abuse it...EVERY TIME. I will also pursue this complaint of mine further Monday.

Always good food drinks and a great time. Bartenders take care of you the security guys make sure everyone is safe and that nobody feels harassed. Also free beer from 8-1 on Thursday’s with a live DJ.

Great smoked meats and very pleasant waitstaff! Although the "atmosphere" is somewhat lacking (let's say it's a little rough around the edges), the food is delicious. It was nice that we could've sat there and just passed the time without anyone rushing us, quite the opposite really. Lots of sports channels on the many screens available too. The location lies inside a private, partially gated community, which is odd and confused the heck out of our GPS device.

Decent once I finally got in..had to have one of my friends (who was younger than me) tell the bouncer I was who was on the license..you'd think 2 copys of my ID with MY FACE ON IT would be enough but apparently people can't tell it's you if you go from brunette to blonde..either way it was enough of a hassle and I had to walk back to my car 3 times and wait in line 3 times while my friends were inside (and I wasn't too keen on standing ALONE in those 3 lines with a bunch of drunk frat boys stumbling all over me)..needless to say I wouldn't go back unless I was being paid.
