Service great ! Food great! I have high expectations, and I was more than pleased. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting this area. It is even worth an ‘out of the way’ trip. Excellent!

Stopped in for lunch and instantly got a seat up at the bar. Which was actually really good seats, we got front row to watch them cooking the pizzas in the wood fire oven. Had excellent service from our server. The pizza was AMAZING! We had the old reliable (add mushrooms and pepperoni). It was excellent quality, great sauce, toppings and good crust and prepared perfectly. We loved it and were happy. Stayed and tried the dessert as well, the seasonal (peaches and Blueberry) crisp was delicious. We combined it with a twist of their soft serve ice cream (seasonal strawberry mixed with the vanilla). The hostess even bought the ice cream for us, which I thought was so nice. I can't remember anytime of going out and having a server do that just because. The restaurant was also very interesting, lots of plants and interesting set up. Highly recommend stopping in here.

The food is so very well done here, and there are so many great menu items to choose from. Delicious food, great service! The cauliflower appetizer was really tasty. Will definitely be returning soon. Laid back but lovely atmosphere, fun decor, and I kind of want the hand soap that was in the bathroom. Went on a Wednesday for dinner service, I bet they're really busy on the weekends because we ended up seated at the bar - which was fine since we could sit facing each other - a nice design for groups.

At least a 60-minute wait for a table on any given weeknight, probably 2x that on weekends, so book your reservation a month in advance or have LOTS of extra time in your evening. The pizza is unique and well-crafted and tasty, but I just... Is any pizza worth a 2.5 hour wait?

Nice vibe, good food but nothing special. Pizza was comparable to Punch Pizza put with more Asian inspired toppings. My biggest problem was the slow service. 50 minutes from ordering to serving. Given that we had to be somewhere we changed our pizzas to go. Our favorite pizza was the short rib.

Well Deserved 5 stars. Service was beyond superb with a peaceful setting. The environment makes you want to stay. Pizza was a 10/10 and highly recommend it, the cookie tray was delicious, we did order the grilled fish, tasted extraordinary but felt it was a bit over priced especially not coming with any sides. overall great experience, will definitely come back and recommend this restaurant any time.

Worth the wait for this place...I have yet to have a bad meal in the 3 times I've dined here. All apps, pizzas, etc are so tasty!! Especially liked the Short Ribs, Korean BBQ, and Mushroom pizzas. Photo booth for our group of 8 was an added bonus, good times!!

One of the best restaurants in the Midwest. Exceptional experience from the first drink through one-of-a-kind appetizers and outstanding pizzas. The service and atmosphere are perfection as well. You can tell extreme care, talent, and thought went into ever design detail from the green tile to the real candles. A favorite spot for us.

Great atmosphere and even better food! This is an easy place to take even the pickiest of eaters! They use fresher, often unique ingredients, so the price of a personal pie is going to cost more, but it’s worth it. Service was great mostly, however we had a party of 4 and the other two hadn’t arrived yet (arrived 5 mins later) and wanted to get there early to get a drink and an app for the table. And they told us to go to the bar and that they couldn’t seat us yet. Even though there were many tables available. We went to the bar and ordered, then our friends walked through the door and we had to move everything over. Also, they did burn my friend’s gluten free crust...and didn’t say anything about it (my friend is also too nice to complain), so that I was surprised about. Gluten free crusts are already not as enjoyable (personal opinion) why make it worse? Overall though I have been here a few times and it has been wonderful. I love the food.

This pizza was intergalactic on the edge of the city and campus. I was teleported back in time to a pizza cocktail bar ordering a pizza with lemon preserve having my rose moved from the speakeazy to my table where I ordered an entire pizza. I could have shared but instead mom's got a lucky lunch switch up with my to-go in an eco friendly pack & I enjoyed a fancy appetizer to share bc we didnt want to leave this comfy atmosphere full of friends, a girl on blind date and great service.

Young Joni is by far the best restaurant I've ever been to. The dishes are packed with outstanding flavors. We visited with our family to celebrate an occasion. The Cauliflower, Kimchi, chicken wings, and pizzas that we ordered were all just amazingly scrumptious. The flavors were like a beatiful symphony in my palette and it was just magnificent!

My dinner was fabulous but nothing else was. I came with a group of 8 who made a reservation 2 months in advance and when we arrived, we were told we could not sit at the same table... we would have to sit at 2 tables of 4. Could we put 2 tables together, certainly not! there were 2 tables next to each other but we couldn't have them. Oh no, one was "reserved". We ended up at 2 tables that were close, but too far apart to share the evening we had come to have. We were joined by an unexpected addition and asked if we could bring a chair to add to our table. Of course we couldn't. We were then offered a table where 5 could sit and moved there. This resulted in us texting the other 1/2 of our party from across the room, how stupid is that! As I said, food was great, but the staff were full of themselves and it ruined the evening. I spoke to my daughter the next morning and she had an experience like this too about a year ago. She was with 3 others and didn't realize reservations were required. When they asked about being seated, the host laughed at them.

I’ve been to restaurants all over the U.S. and this is definitely in my top 5. The food is amazing and the service is always wonderful. I would recommend the cauliflower appetizer and the grilled whole fish. Food is always very fresh and the quality is consistent. Definitely would recommend. It is hard to get a reservation, so try several weeks in advance. If you want to do a walk in, especially on the weekend, get there at least 5-10 minutes before it opens to ensure you get a table.

Everything in the place was top notch. The food was amazing, the service was superb and the ambiance was awesome! Even the bathroom had awesome soap they really left no stone unturned when creating this. I travel 3 weeks a month for work and this was the best meal out of my house I have had in years. I hate squash but it was amazing GET. IT. NOW. Outstanding Place!

The atmosphere and food is amazing. The service is very hit-or-miss. I've had servers that have been attentive and approachable and I've had servers that have demeaned my intelligence when I wasn't sure what cocktail I wanted to try. Weekends are busy, the wait time can get up to 2hr long. The bright side to that: they have a Speakeasy attached to them so you can enjoy a drink prior to your meal while you wait. The service there has always been on point. There is also a photobooth you can enjoy in Young Joni if you ask your server for the code! Last tip: I highly recommend sitting at the Chef's Table.

Excellent restaurant. This place hits on so many levels: The pizza we ordered came out perfect - a little char and the ingredients were superb. We also had a pea and burrata salad that I could eat almost daily. It was seasoned perfectly. We had some craft cocktails that were out of this world as well. Staff was extremely nice and we came in at about 2pm on a Sunday and it wasn't too crowded. Pricing is what you would expect for the level of food. Will definitely stop in again!

If the light is on in the alley, the bar in the back is open...you must visit. Once seated (we requested the Chef's counter) the food, all of it, was delicious, hot, and served rather quickly. We will be back.

Food with class...! The starters are to die for, rich and flavorful. Unique in its own way. Specially the sweet potatoes and cauliflower dish. Pizzas are also good and has very distinct taste which you will remember forever. They also have nice collection of drinks. The place is big and has big waiting list on evenings. Though it’s modern design but still has elements of coziness. You will definitely like it for special and small occasions. Note: you can also try pizzeria Lola if you are near to that. As both are similar on taste and menu.

This place has it all..Great service, tasty and fresh pizza, a wine list, varied seating and upbeat, open atmosphere. Seating an be tight and making a reservation is essential. Rarely give an excellent rating but this one certainly deserves it.The Amolfi Pizza was superb! We also tried the season vegetable and it was outstanding.

Very unique, interesting fusion food that has the look of American food, but a pack of flavor from South Korea. Great Atmosphere, friendly service, and food is reasonably priced. This is a must go restaurant for everyone, especially those who are visiting Minnesota.

I have allergies and they did NOTHING to accommodate. They refused to change any salad by adding items after taking off 6 that I’m allergic to. They told me I could remove items but they would not add anything to any salad. That left me paying $27 for greens (nothing else) and a VERY small piece of salmon. They charged me full price for the salad $10 (I took everything off due to allergies) and then they charged another $17 for an extremely small piece of salmon to put on the greens. They were shaming, demeaning and disrespectful about my allergies.

As usual the food was fantastic - the la Parrisienne pizza is world-class, and the Seasonal Greens salad was the perfect starter (which 2 of us were able to share). The cocktails are also not to be missed, with their Paloma and Mules always hitting the spot. For desert, try the ice cream with sea salt and olive oil - sounds a little crazy but you won’t be disappointed and is now always made room in our meal plan. Just plan to either make reservations well in advance, or come earlier in the evening and try to get a spot at the bar (where you can order food comfortably).

This was my partner's and my once-a-year fancy night out, and the place lives up to every bit of hype, in our experience. Every person we encountered working there was friendly and genuine, the atmosphere was delightful, and the food and drinks were absolutely exquisite - combinations of flavors I never would have thought of but we were dazzled by. I was excited for a Korean meal, and when our waiter arrived, I asked for the closest thing to bulgogi, and they didn’t know what I was talking about. At a restaurant that markets itself as Korean fusion, that’s a bit of a red flag. I ordered the Korean beef short ribs on the recommendation of the waiter. They tasted good. The only Korean thing about them was the cut of the beef. The only thing on the plate was a dollop of sauce and five thin medallions of beef. Half of each of these tough pieces was bone. I’d eaten my meal in about three minutes. My frustration is this. There isn’t any one thing I hated about this restaurant. There are just so many things that fall short. It would have been so easy to include rice with the meal so I didn’t have to go down the street for a more reasonably priced meal immediately after.

While it may be hard to get in to eat that’s because it’s absolutely amazing. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the food. The flavor combinations are great and I love the dishes that are a little spicy. After all the great reviews, I had to see what all the hype was about! Young Joni certainly lives up to its reputation - everything was phenomenal. My party of three was able to get in on a Tuesday evening without waiting, but expect to wait if you're here on the weekend and don't have a reservation. Service was great - our waitress offered multiple recommendations for our first time and never rushed us with the ordering process. We started with three small bites which all had great flavor in their own way - I highly recommend the corn when it's on the menu. Salty, sweet, buttery and spicy - what more could you want? We shared the Tavern Pie on the recommendation of the server and the people sharing our table, and it was definitely a favorite of ours. Everything on the dessert menu sounded good, but we ended up with the mini cone trio, which was the perfect end to a perfect meal - and look how cute they are! You can't go wrong with Young Joni with anything on the menu!

So surprised by this place. It gets most of its publicity as a pizza joint but the menu had so much more to offer it was a shock to me. I would come back here again and again. Great spot in a NE neighborhood, much larger inside than it looks from the street. The wait staff we had was incredible and made for an awesome experience.

So. Damn. Good. I’d been to their restaurant before (more on that later) but the bar is truly a hidden wonder. The experience itself, of the unique decor and the always-popping playlist on the reel-to-reel player would be enough to merit 5 stars on its own, but then there’s the drinks. They’re strong, creative, and delicious, and the menu is a good laugh. Back to the restaurant, the pizza is unbeatable and the service is top-notch. Also, be sure to check out their bathrooms; they’re beautiful.

Wow the food and service here were amazing! We ordered the Cauliflower, KBBQ pizza, and Umami Pizza. We were blown away by the Cauliflower. Whole the pizzas were great, they weren't unique like the Cauliflower. I'm not huge on veggies but when we asked the waiter for recommendations, he highly recommended the Cauliflower and Japanese Sweet Potato. Now I wish I had gotten those two and one pizza. But overall everything was delicious and I would highly recommend this location.

I'd come back here again, but I'd be sure to have a reservation or come when it's slower. We had a two hour wait, but it was a weekend night. I don't really have any complaints about the food -- all tasty. However, for the amount of hype it gets (plus a two hour wait) I expected more. Not to say it left me unsatisfied. The food was good and priced reasonably. The drinks were alright, but I'd probably stick to wine rather than cocktails next time. Cocktails left something to be desired, but their wine selection was good. Overall it's a good place and worth going. I probably wouldn't be so critical if it weren't so hyped up. It's definitely doing a lot right.

I love Young Joni so much Their service is great their food simply amazing and the ambiance is just perfection. They have such unique flavors and food combos that work so well together! The speakeasy in the back is also a really cool bar. Fun with the hidden door and limited space really makes you feel special. Super fun for first date or even a night out with a couple of friends. I would totally suggest trying their pizza and amazing brussel sprouts with pomegranate!

Food is fantastic! They have some great wine and beer choices. The atmosphere here is very chill and trendy. Love how they have high ceilings, but warm lighting. Makes it feel very cozy but still spacious. I have tried quite a few of the pizza’s here and have loved every one of them. This place is always packed so make sure to come early or expect a wait. Or make sure to get a reservation a head of time. Don’t forget to check out the hidden bar in the back. It won’t disappoint!

Server Van....hmm...started off good, but actually got in a bit of a spat with me at tip time over misleading beverage charges. It was my 2nd time here, and we will not be returning or recommending. The kind man who wiped down the table used a rag that was so foul smelling, we had to leave the table. It lingered.... but server Van did help re-wipe the table with a better smelling sanitizing wipe, so we appreciated that. Beautiful decor and fun atmosphere, however. Great hand soap in the restroom! Friendly and helpful reservation staff. Cauliflower: pretty good (7/10 stars) Pork Belly Ssam: pretty good (5/10 stars) La Parisienne pizza: so so (4/10 stars) Since the table stunk so badly, we didn’t have the patience or the stomach to stick around for dessert.

This place rules, I haven't tried a menu item yet that i haven't absolutely loved. all the pizzas are inventive and delicious, their bar staff are knowledgeable the cocktails were superb. friends... please order the wings- the ones with the salsa macha. keep the plate with all that DELICIOUS sauce and when your pizza comes mop up all that salsa macha with your crust. thank me later. aside the wonderful pizza menu i recommend the chicken wings, the prawns, the pork belly the cauliflower and the parsnips. id love to try the whole grilled fish but my dinner compatriots are usually seafood adverse :/

We experienced terrible table service. Our meals were brought to the table about 10 minutes apart. My husband was almost done with his pork chop meal before my single pizza was delivered. We were seated on a couch with a table back in the room. The couch was low and I felt as if I were sitting below the table. My husband pork chop was border line raw. Our server never asked what we would prefer how he would like his pirk chop cooked. He sent it back. My pizza still hadn't arrived. He received his plate back, ate most of his meal and my pizza just arrived. I just asked for a box. We asked for a manager and no one came. But they happily dropped off the bill. After waiting and asking another server for the manager. We gave up after 10 kins of waiting, paid our bill and left. We wont be back.

Beyond artisan pizza. Carefully crafted, quality ingredients brought together for immense flavor. We shared a salad and each ordered a pizza. If your looking for the "standard" pizza fare, this place is not for you. If you have an adventurous mind and palette, I would highly recommend giving it a try.

Absolutely love this place! I love the brussel sprouts side and any pizza you choose is fantastic. The wait will usually be long no matter what, so go next door to Dangerous Man to grab a beer and wait, or the back of the building to their own speakeasy! Don't miss out of dessert, they tend to rotate, but their are some that are mainstays.

The food is incredible. Here , and Ann Kim’s other 2 restaurants. -1 star due to service/seating. I’ve been here a couple times and don’t mind the wait (typically 20-60 minutes without a reservation) however my boyfriend and I came here on a Tuesday night and waited 65 minutes only to be sat at the community table. This was especially disappointing because there were 3 or 4 vacant tables and a party that checked in without reservations after us was sat at a normal table. The other times we’ve been here we’ve been asked if we wanted to sit at the community table with the incentive of a lesser wait time. It was a little irritating to have waited all that time to not even get a table. Kind of felt like we were picked as the less important customers. Maybe because we are a young couple.

The dinosaurs! Ok, yes...this place is soooooo cool. Went to their back bar after our dinner at another place. Quirky-cozy spot, charismatic bartenders who seem to love their job, and well crafted cocktails. Definitely worth checking out. My husband has tried their pizza on another occasion and said it is the best he's ever had.

Young Joni is one of the best restaurants in Minneapolis. Hands down. Modern but cozy ambiance and cool overall aesthetic with a warm feel. Great date night spot as well as nights out with friends and groups. Food for anyone. Lots of vegan options/ items that can be made vegan. They have a cool speak easy space out back through the alley where you can also have unique beverages while you wait for your table. Finish the night off with their fun photo booth for memories to last a lifetime. ❤ Always a top pick! && not overly expensive either!!

Great food and fun place, very lively but make sure to book. We didn’t and we’re told 2.5 hours wait for a table on a slow evening. Ended up snagging seats in the bar after about 45 minutes and yes, after 2.5 hours a table was ready. Service was fine, the food is the attraction here. One standout server, who moves around making sure everyone has a drink, including people waiting in line, which is awesome! Especially loved the chicken wings, Caesar & cauliflower. Pizzas were of course great as this is the specialty here. Only dish to disappoint was the kimchi, thought it would rock as the chef has Korean heritage. Very minor point indeed. Well with a visit!

As expected, our dinner was fantastic. The location is fantastic. The ambiance is simple, but classy and the food is out of this world. We had the sweet and spicy pork ribs to start, which were delicious. The Korean BBQ and Basque pizzas both took us on a different trips. The sauce on the Korean was next level, hut the arugula really set it off. The Basque had so many different things happening in each bite between the creamy cheese, the pepperoni, onion, and fantastic sauce. We capped it off with the olive oil and sea salt over vanilla ice cream for a great meal. We made reservations for our next trip while we were still at the table.

Cute place in NE Minneapolis. Love the food. We ordered pizza for our entrees and they came out so quickly. Highly recommend the Yolo pizza. We will definitely be back. Make a reservation if you can. We had to wait 1.5 hours on a Saturday around 8:00pm.

Came here late Saturday night and were able to get a table after a 40 minute wait (sat down around 10:30pm). The decor is very pretty. The wine selection was beautiful and extensive, and my husband's Sarsaparilla cocktail was delish. After the server brought our drinks and took our food order we never saw her again until we were almost finished with our pizzas (literally 2 slices left out of 12). I was so disappointed as we wanted another drink, and needed salt for one of the pretty bland pizzas. We ordered two pizzas to share - the YOLO (fantastic) and One Potato Two (which desperately needed salt, but was still super yummy). Once the salt came for our last two slices, the pizza was perfect. We asked our server for our tab, she never brought it, so after 10 or so minutes we asked another server if he could grab it for us - which he promptly did, as well as checked back with us to get payment. The entire visit our server was washing bar glassware, and looked as if she may have been bartending...we weren't sure. Had our service been decent, we would give 5 stars, but sadly it put a damper on our experience. (p.s. Sorry for the grainy photo...it was a screenshot from a Snapchat video)

The atmosphere is beautiful and every dish was better than the last. The cauliflower was a favorite and the pizza with honey was fantastic! Everyone, with the exception of our waiter, Zach, was very accommodating. He was very pretentious and got an eye roll several times From him. Would highly recommend.

There will always be a line, but the food is well worth it. The crust has a perfect combination of crispy and doughy textures. I was very impressed by the quality of the cheese and tomatoes. The caesar salad was interesting, I've never had one with eggs before but it added a unique new touch.

Our server (older male) had a very dry sense of humor and ended up being just rude.We ordered Bloody Marys but they we’re out of tomato juice so ordered Gimlets but they didn’t have Roses Lime.The pizza was fair but thought the bill was a bit high.No plans on going back soon.

We had high hopes for Young Joni and for the most part it met expectations. Ordered the Thai sausage skewers as an appetizer which were outstanding, and then had the Tavern Pie pizza and Korean BBQ Pizza. The Tavern Pie was fantastic-- we have made variations at home since visiting because we loved it so much. The Korean BBQ pizza was what we were most excited about, and it fell a bit short of what we hoped. The arugula was layered on way too thick and overwhelmed the other flavors, hence the four stars. We would definitely come back though and try more varieties.

It's as good as they say. I've been here a handful of times and you must save room for dessert! The church basement platter is so silly, but so good! The cookies are so tasty and the peanut butter bars have some incredible chocolate from Belgian in them. We asked our waiter so many questions about the bars, because they were so good. I've also had their summer vegetable pizza which is a nice fresh and light choice. It's super favorable. I've had luck showing up and sitting at the bar on a weeknight, but it might just be that, luck!

It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a reservation. We booked our table 2 months in advance and even then had a 10pm dinner slot. They weren't able to accommodate us a bit early, but we walked around and ended up at the back bar for a few drinks before dinner which was a great choice. There was a waitlist to get into the back bar as well, but it was understandable Saturday night. The signature pizzas were delicious, and the ambience was great. The service was good as well.

I love love love the place. Its communal seating mostly. It’s a bohemian pizza haven in Minneapolis art district area. Might I say their wings are just unbelievably good. Good pizza. Wait time is 45 min on an average but there’s brewery and donut place next door. Little trivia fact : their plates are all bought second hand from local thrift stores which are super cute and the interior designer of this place needs a special applause. I always enjoy my trip to this sweet place.

Went there a few days ago. Just had appetizers: The Korean ribs and Thai lettuce wraps. Both were well seasoned and tasty. Almost ordered pizza (makes up bulk of menu with an average cost of about $18, small size maybe 6 slices). However, had to leave unexpectedly. Server friendly and attentive. Delicious! I can see why they're booked out for months in some cases. I got the tavern pie, boyfriend let me try a slice of his Korean BBQ pizza. Tavern pie was amazing! The spice and the sweet of the honey was perfect. Korean BBQ was also awesome (though personally I found it a bit weird to have on a pizza, but after a few more bites it is really damn good. The meat was so tender!!). Finally we tried the cauliflower dish and that was insanely good, perfect spices and delicious char 10/10 recommend

I don’t know where to begin with on describing how much I loved the food! First of all, I loved the chef’s style of cooking. It was quite different from other places that offered similar dishes. But the style is what set Young Joni aside in a good way, and it’s what made the food amazing! The margherita, chicken wings, cauliflower, and mini cone trio were exquisite, and once again, the flavor was great! I highly recommend visiting Young Joni!

Food is Good I would give five stars to the food, but having to wait hours to get a table not good. The parking is as horrible as the wait times. Honestly it's not worth the wait. I cannot in good conscience give better than two star because of the wait times. Just a few blocks away you can get some equally good pizza at Element Pizza. They at least have a parking lot.
