Quick and friendly service with a sweet colorful patio for lovely summer dining. Tinto has a pretty diverse menu so picking a meal was pretty tricky! Had the Huevos rancheros and carnitas tacos. The Huevos was to die for...while the tacos were super tasty but a tiny bit oily. The chocolate cake for dessert was melt in your mouth amazing. Can't wait to come back again!

The Ropa Vieja is sooo good. The beef is warm and savory, the plantain is soft and sweet, there's a little tangy kick from picked onions, and a drizzle of creamy sauce. It all adds up to a lovely, warm, complex flavor. I could eat that every day. Also great empanadas and desserts!

We came here on a Sunday afternoon. We walked in and we're greeted by a server. We said we would like to sit outside. He had to clean off a table. So we decided to look at the tequila list at the bar while we waited. We ordered a anejo tequila and the bartender said there was no training wheels allowed for that grade of tequila. I asked for a pineapple back and she gave me one. I felt like the bartender was very rude for telling me what I was and wasn't allowed to have. We settled up with the bartender then proceeded outside and sat at a table, which was still dirty. They were not very busy at this time. The server walked past us 4 different times and never acknowledged us. My boyfriend went in to order our food at the bar. He told the same bartender that we wanted a order of the pork belly tacos and the bartender said that she would send the server to our table and wouldn't take our order. We waited about another 5 minutes (so about 20 min total) and decided to get up and leave. We walked around uptown for a while and a couple hours later decided to try again because we really wanted pork belly tacos. I went in and it was the same people working. The server greeted me and asked if we wanted menus. I said yes we would love some and would like to sit outside. Sat down and the bartender came out to our table and said we ordered food from her a couple hours prior and then left so she couldn't serve us. Clearly was a miscommunication. The fact that she wouldn't serve us food was completely ridiculous. It's not like we dine and dashed. We were completely settled up with our bill. Very rude bartender and horrible customer service. I will definitely not ever be back.

flavorless, but pretty food. nice enough place to hang out. their small portions would be fine if they were half the price. pictures are needed on their menu because the descriptions do not accurately describe what you're ordering. food example: soy sauce seems out of place at a latin food restaurant as a "sauce" on the steak entree (small, cut up portion of beef), but gave the dish it's only flavor, and i used that to season my appetizer and my rice-and-beans side dish. no plans to revisit this place.

This is my favorite spot at 50th & Penn. Super friendly ownership and staff, great happy hour, and the best patio in the neighborhood. They have a full liquor license, which is pretty rare in this area and means that they can offer a wider variety of drink options than many surrounding places--including amazing margaritas. It's also worth noting that they have TVs in the bar area, so if you live in the neighborhood and are looking for a place to catch a game, this is one of your only options in this neck of the woods.

Had a horrible experience with service and will never come back. Their food costs way too much to have bad service to go with it. The elote was the only thing decent for flavor, otherwise tacos were bland and the margaritas were almost entirely mix. Save your money and go literally anywhere else.

I was very disappointed when I heard about an employee who was told last minute to take some time off (not paid) and when he refused the manager fired him and did not pay him his hours. Due to him not having his citizenship or permission to work in the U.S. he couldn't fight for his hours. This is not the first time I have heard something like this happening before.

My husband and I had just come back from a trip to Peru, so it was fun to visit a place close to home with the same dishes we had just experienced. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly! They have a wonderful outdoor patio as well. I ordered the Enchiladas de Mole and thought they were really good but I would try something different next time just because you have to be a big fan of Mole, since there is so much sauce. I also ordered a house margarita during happy hour. We will definitely come back to try more things!

Kind young kid greeted me during happy hour upon my entering. There was one table of two people and I asked if it was okay to order food from the happy hour menu to go. The young kid said let me check with the manager, since it was dead inside. I saw the manager standing next to the bar chatting and he looked at me, blankly, said no and the young server returned sorrowfully and apologized they could not. I've worked in the service industry for 11 years and that was BS. No good reason whytheycouldn't do it... Money and business is ways to be welcomed.

The best meal out I have had in months. Loved the food, loved the staff. I stopped in there for lunch one Sat. to try some of their Peruvian dishes because of my upcoming trip to that country. They bent over backward (especially the sous-chef from Peru) to make me feel welcome, recommending dishes, coming out and visiting with me, asking me about the trip. Wow this place is 10 out of 10!! Food 10, service 10, drink list 10, atmosphere 10, all the little things 10... Great for dates, that treat yo' self meal, impressing your family, and they have a great sunny patio. They have a seafood-forward menu but also choices for everyone. Not as much if you're vegetarian, but try the breakfast tacos! We ate our guacamole and fish tacos before we took a picture, but we did take a pic of the tuna ceviche. We were served by the bartender on a very quiet Saturday afternoon and we would go back just to hang out with him. He was that nice. I can't say enough good things about Tinto! Go to here!

Horrible place to go for a celebration! My evening started off by telling the server that we were celebrating a birthday. I was the first one seated at the table and explained that my friend, whose birthday it was, would be coming in a little bit. Once she got there I explained that she was here and I would like for her to have a nice evening. It took forever for him to get our drink orders. He seemed more interested in making the men at the table happy than the women. So many things went wrong with this evening, I don't even think I can name them all. I ordered a strawberry margarita that tasted nothing like strawberry at all... I asked to have more strawberry added. My friend felt that the server was very rude to her and that she was ignored when she tried to give her order. I ordered the Pork Flauta - it tasted worse than the pork sandwich at Subway. I had to send it back it was that bad. I decided to order instead chicken tacos thinking that was a better option. They are decidedly small... Very small. And very bland. The tacos came to me with torn up little saucers / shells with what were supposed to be seasoned shredded chicken. The shells were no bigger than a silver dollar! I can get past the fact that the little saucers were torn up but, the chicken had absolutely no flavor. You think you should be able to fold these things up like you would be able to fold up into a taco? I tried to give up and eat this stuff with a fork and hot sauce to no avail. Nobody ate the guacamole as the avocados were old - the guacamole was brown. No one had anything good to say about the server as he was aloof and unavailable. The one good thing that I did hear from an attendee is that the Paella tasted good. Oh, and don't even try and think about getting a free piece of cake on your birthday at this place. They don't do it, unless you bribe "Todd".

I went to this place two weeks ago on a Wednesday night around 8 p.m. or so. The place was very clean, somewhat clean, but still we were helps right away. Wasn't that hungry to begin with, so I just ended up getting an appetizer of the chips. I'm usually quite picky when it comes to getting enough food for the amount of money I pay, so I was very surprised at the gargantuan amount of chips that I got for just $10 or so. I wasn't sure if the jalapeno would be too spicy, but everything proved to be just right. I was glad to leave stuffed. the staff works quite hard there and it shows. It seems like they can serve you and get you out in a hurry if you would like, or will definitely allow you to stay there and linger for as long as you would like and enjoy just being with company. They also got a couple of gluten free options there as well. I definitely recommend this place and look forward to going back there again sometime soon.

Tinto is one of my favorite spots in Minneapolis. We always have wonderful food and service each time we go. We recently rented out their free private dining space for a birthday party, and it was perfect for 12 guests. Our waitress was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Came for a quick drink on a Saturday night with my husband. Excellent service and the bartender Todd was very friendly. He recommended we come back for brunch on Sunday. Attentive, friendly staff, ok space. Was busy when we were there so it was tough to find space to wait out the 30 mins we were quoted. Just wine and beer served at the bar, no hard alcohol. Food was ok, not overly flavorful but their hot sauce helped. However, be warned if you have allergies or sensitivity to certain foods. My fiance got violently Ill after eating here Friday. He is allergic to fish, got the pork tacos and it must have been set on the same prep board as their fish. He spent most of the night sick, but was fine after he rid his system of the food. I dont think we will be back.

Food is good but small portions. Our waiter was hilarious and sassy. Their patio is great and they have blankets for you if you get cold! A bit expensive for what you get but you're bound to have a fun evening with friends for sure.

Fun little corner place, super slow on an early Friday afternoon, I was one of maybe two people there for a late lunch. Got the barbacoa tacos and was not disappointed. Service was attentive and friendly, and the server said he makes the salsa himself which is a nice touch. Will definitely be back

Super cute restaurant, and really tasty food, but we went for dinner last night (three adults and four kids) and the tab was $182 before the tip with no desserts and we all left a little hungry. Sorry, but not quite worth the price.

First timer here. Not your traditional Mexican cuisine. Very modern with a limited menu selection. The guacamole was pretty bland, but they had a queso special that was to die for. My fajitas were also fantastic. Served with corn tortillas. I believe their chips are reheated and honestly were stale. Very hip atmosphere.

We lived in Austin, TX for seven years so were very excited for this place to open in our neighborhood. We tried three of the taco orders. Loved the beef and my daughter enjoyed her avocado tacos (she’s vegetarian). Tortillas are made in house and really make the difference. Met the owner and she was charming.
