REVIEWS OF The Bachelor Farmer IN Minnesota

Janelle Winter

Hands down one of the best dishes I’ve ever had in my life. The Walleye was fresh, flavorful, and paired well with fennel and apple. Rustic, modern interior with candlelit tables. Already want to visit again!

Matt McLain

The Bachelor Farmer seemed like a perfect Minnesota experience when I selected the restaurant. Our table was ready when we arrived and we were able to place our drinks order quickly, with expert advice from our server. We loved the Groaning Board--with toast, pates and pickled vegetables. Quite unique as an appetizer. And our golden beets were excellent, quite possibly the best I've had. Dinner was delicious. The menu is locally sourced and changes daily. Chicken, trout, and lamb were our selections. Dessert was also fantastic. The coffee ice cream sundae stood out as our favorite. And I loved the cappuccino! We stayed for a couple of hours and never felt rushed. The ambiance was homey and rustic. We would definitely go again!

Randy Jackson

They make great cocktails. Ambiance was perfect for a date. The food was very good. We shared some apps and entrees. Our server was a little rushed, but it was Saturday night. Ask about their wines by the glass chalkboard. A fun way to try better wines without the whole bottle.

Amy Carr

Some of the best food and service we've had anywhere in the United States. Beautiful atmosphere.

Michael W Cackoski

First time customer, taking a friend out on her birthday. Unique menu with great tasting food. Moderately priced entrees. Fantastic friendly service. An enjoyable evening. If you are a wine lover, they have a great wine list, but know that a lot of the selection are higher end bottles. (But very enjoyable)

Elaine Armstrong

we had great food and service was great, knowledgeable, laid back and made us feel special.

Kevin Patton

Fabulous experience. TBF pairs excellent, locally sourced ingredients with high caliber, exquisite service, superb beverage offerings, and a casual, yet intimate and setting. Great for special occasions or a gathering of close friends, it's quality Minneapolis dining at its finest.

Ryan Bolduan

As always fantastic atmosphere, food, and service. The Bachelor Farmer is one of those great gems of Minnesota, distinctly local and yet worldly in what it serves. If you're going, their Groaning Board, though a meal in itself is always worth it. The rest is at the whim of the chef, but I guarantee if it sounds good, it probably is.

Tiffany Langlas

Yummy farm to table eatery with a casual rustic vibe. Excellent fois gras and charcuterie!

Michele Carpenter

We had a wonderful waitress and the suggestions were for on. Atmosphere was soft and relaxing on a Sunday night

Pierre-Jean Tatin

Delicate service, good food and surprisingly good wine selection

Steve Miller

Unbelievable tasty food with a great atmosphere. Helpful staff, prompt service. Will definitely make this a regular thing!

Deb Santa

Must make reservations weeks in advance to eat in the restaurant. We ate in the bar had amazing service & food. With a group, get there when they open to score the couch & comfy chairs around a coffee table.

Slava Sponitz

The Bachelor Farmer is a unique restaurant with all local products that would be a perfect destination for tourists that would like to taste Nordic influenced food. Our server was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Every Monday they have a chop night. Their portions have a perfect size, so you won’t leave hungry.

Joe Dancho

We enjoyed the food. The menu is quaint, but everything they serve is delicious. Not overly expensive. Cheap and plentiful parking in the large lot behind. Check out the cocktail bar downstairs. Pretty great craft cocktails. See ya there!

Kyle Wilman

Amazing food, top notch service and a very nice atmosphere. The drinks are also amazing. Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Minneapolis.

Jared De Soto

Great food and staff. Best meal I had in Minneapolis. Everything I ate was delicious.

Karen England

Fabulous! Hannah was our server and she was fantastic, as is all of the staff there. The food is incredible, too. This was my second visit and I definitely will be back! If you don't have a reservation, expect to wait, but not nearly as long as they estimate. Just skip the bar in the lower level of their building. I'm not going to even name it to promote it at all. It was horrible! Bad drinks and even worse service. If you have to wait for a dinner table, jam into the Bachelor Farmer's bar upstairs and stand if you have to.

Fred Schroeder

Good food and service

Mark T

Have been here twice in the last two weeks. I have never had better meals anywhere and I'm an old man who has enjoyed fine dining since childhood. Excellent and knowledgeable servers regarding both the menu and wine list are the icing on the cake. Can't wait to go back.

Tyler Illikainen

My favorite restaurant in the North Loop. Make sure to order something off the toast menu!

Gao Xiong

Damn! The fish is so good and my drinks was just on point, so refreshing! Great place and friendly customer service.

Daniel Picard

I visited the bar here, but didn't go to the dining area for a meal. The bar area, along with the helpful & friendly & wonderful staff, is a truly artisan affair with custom handcrafted cocktails. They are very pricey, but they are also SO TASTY! It's worth a stop as it is a different experience compared to the regular bar scene.

Frances McGee

Love the ambience here. The food is great here.

Brandon Ezell

Everything about this restaurant was excellent, the food, the presentation, the service.

Nicholas Fencl

Passionate staff -- refreshing environment!

Mark Sidwell

Excellent food and service. Bar tenders know how to make craft cocktails, service staff is amazing.

Mark Holden

So focused on being trendy that the actual food suffers. A bright point, the wait staff were wonderful! I found the food awful. Acoustics of the design are such that conversation can only happen at shouting level. I'd expect a better experience at a place that cost fraction of the price.

Nikolas Pugmire

Without question, this was one of the most phenomenal meals I've ever had. My husband and I dined here for his birthday and were completely blown away by the experience. We both ordered cocktails, appetizers, entrees, and dessert and each plate we were served was clearly created with intention and precision. Did you know that barley could be turned into a creamy risotto-like dish? My mind and taste-buds were blown. The service was also incredible - very attentive and incredibly personable. I believe everything together for the two of us ended up being about $150 - which I felt was worth every dollar for the experience we had. After the amazing meal, we wanted to walk around for a bit and since the restaurant is located next to the Mississippi River, we were able to have a lovely walk along the trail along the river before heading back to our hotel. If you are looking for a phenomenal, memorable dining experience in a uniquely wonderful part of Minneapolis, this is the place.

brian gitonga

The food was incredible the staff amazing and the best valet guy I have met so far...I typically dont do pork but porkchop is worth it save yourself the time and order a large the small isn't worth the deliciousness you will miss out on :)

Niko Mom

Food was fantastic as always, but maybe I am getting old. It was too dark to see my food, and it was really loud. On the other hand the warm popovers are amazing.

Wm Curtis Szabo

Some of the best food and cuisine in Minneapolis. Even when my wife orders something I’m skeptical about, it’s still good.

Dan Bauman

Amazing food with incredible service. Cocktails were incredible as well. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the twin cities. I had one of the toast platters, grilled lamb chop, and barley side. All mind blowingly good.

Joel Seeger

This is a place not to be missed. I would challenge you to order something on the menu that is a wrong choice. We snagged two spots at the bar (an extra thank you to two staff members who gave us advice on where and when best to lurk!) and ordered one of each section of the menu. Everything was wonderful and distinct and flavorful. Well worth a splurge and great wine recommendations to be had at the bar.

Jeanine Nelson

They make great cocktails. Ambiance was perfect for a date. The food was very good. We shared some apps and entrees. Our server was a little rushed, but it was Saturday night. Ask about their wines by the glass chalkboard. A fun way to try better wines without the whole bottle.

Elad Levran

Third Wave coffee place, great coffee!! Hipster design.

John Bennett

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Minneapolis. As soon as you enter you are welcomed by the wait staff who are all very nice. The ambiance is funky/modern but cozy. We sat at the bar area while waiting for our table but decided to stay because the bartender Paul was awesome. I highly recommend the groaning board - A great selection of pates and charcuterie.

Tim P

Great experience. We sat at the bar and the bartender walked us through lots of great wine options and let us sample his three recommendations. Really friendly staff and good food.

Zena Beena

This place is so great! Nice without being pretentious, excellent wine selection, and the flavor composition with everything tried was pretty impressive and obviously incredibly tasty. I loved it. Good cocktails too. I <3 TBH

Emily Luthra

Every single item tried on the menu was exceptional. Friendly service. Best restaurant in Minneapolis.

Bill Kordiak

The best “high end” restaurant in the North Loop. My favorite place for a nice dinner.

Aaron Vail

Came here for our first wedding anniversary. We've been here before and it is excellent. We don't do super fancy stuff that often, but this place is totally worth it. I wore jeans and a nice t-shirt (I'm a plumber if that paints a picture) and didn't feel out of place, but my wife looked beautiful and probably fit in a bit better. Good food and beautiful atmosphere, highly recommend.

Stupid Storm

Love this place. All fresh food. Fantastic flavors.

Anaïs Felt

Duck confit for the whole table was so salty that we could not finish our food. Service was great, though!

Joe Webb

Great service, knowledgeable staff and delicious food. This is one of those places where you go and no matter what you order, it's awesome. We will be back again soon.

Sarah Bethea

Absolutely amazing food and cocktails. The vegetarian options I had were so tasty and creative. Loved it!!

Molly Weavers

The food quality is incredible. This is much more high end than the restaurants I usually go to, but it was perfect for "somewhere special" as a fancy treat. The staff are excellent and very knowledgeable about the menu.

Stephen Cook

No I didn't never ate there

Santiago Olivella

We made a reservation for four well in advance. As we approached the host at the appointed times (and right on time; we were having a drink downstairs) he not only informed us that TBF would not honor our reservation (“a conservative estimate of 30 minutes to seat you”), but failed to offer either an apology or an explanation. There are decidedly better ways of handling unexpected delays!

Ed Newman

Really good food, great preparation, friendly staff

Kyle Wirick

Only in town for a few days, we looked for a restaurant that was highly rated and uniquely Minnesota. We found Bachelor Farmer. There was a long wait for the dining room so we sat at the bar. Excellent service, great food with just-right portions.

Boy Mom

Outstanding food and service. Cozy farmlike upscale vibe. Highly recommend for home cooked foodie meal

Erin Mihelich

Food and atmosphere were excellent

Paul Skorheim

Unique food and atmosphere. Great waiter staff

Gary Grant

I went there with my wife and our friend. We ordered the cheese and heirloom tomatoes for our toast entry and for appetizers we share the grilled beets and the salavona lettuce and greens. All were extremely tasty and satisfying. For our main entries I had the pork meat balls and the ladies shared the roasted chicken with sides of grilled squash and fresh popovers. The entries were simply marvelous and well beyond what I could describe here. I suggest looking at the menu online. The service that we received from Laura was nothing short of perfection. Her timing was perfect on all of the dishes coming to our table. She kept a careful eye on our drinks and made sure we were happy with each serving of food. She was also very pleasent to us. I highly recommend using the reasonable valet parking as parking there can be a little frustratingy. We will return whenever we are in town visiting our friend in Bloomington. We are from Scottsdale, Arizona..

Ashley Junghans

My husband and I stopped into the bar for a drink and dessert. Our bartender was absolutely lovely and the semifreddo was downright delicious.

Steven Anderson

The service and food are incredible. I recommend this to everyone!

Gloria Carlson

Celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here... just the two of us. Had a lovely dinner. Everything was a taste adventure!

Lee T

This place was very good. We went to dinner, having some sandwiches, along with salad and some bakery items. What a caloric splurge but well worth it. The atmosphere is great, rather homey and unique. No boiler plate big corporation influence here and that was awesome. The service was good. Lauren really knows how to treat guests well and feel welcome. I recommend if you are visiting the twin cities area.

Gerri Poling

Ambiance and decor help bring the experience to life. There wasn’t a single thing on the menu tonight that didn’t look appealing and my selections were cooked to perfection. Well done.

Chase Nelson

I loved the dimly lit ambiance of both, The Bachelor Farmer and Marvel Bar. We started the night downstairs with a few cocktails at Marvel Bar as we waited for our reservation upstairs. We had a few more drinks once we were seated upstairs but the food was where we enjoyed ourselves the most. We started off with the Duck Broth, Popovers and the Fresh Cow's Milk Toast. Everything exceeded our expectations, so we decided to continue to choosing our entrees. We decided on the Grilled Devin Beef and the Market Fish (Walleye), which were also amazing. I highly recommend visiting both Marvel Bar and The Bachelor Farmer in the same visit.

Neil Smeby

Wow, great for a late date night meal. We sat at the bar and had dinner and drinks. The bartender that night was great. Very knowledgeable about the extensive wine list and in particular that night's special wine, a unique Vin Jaune. I bet he was an expert in every drink he made. He was quite friendly too. The food was no less excellent. I'd highly recommend for a night out for a meal in Minneapolis.

Alex Taylor

Every single detail is perfect - so much thought has gone into the meals, the pairings, the decor, the service. Truly one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Highly recommended.

David Brad Ewing

Amazing food and service. Phenomenal bartender Paul went above and beyond to make our experience delightful.

Jordan Lyseng

The food was good but they serve foi gras, which I find to be disgusting and ethically repulsive and out of line of the wholesome vibe the restaurant is going for. If you don't know, foi gras is the diseased liver of a duck or goose that has been force fed corn it's whole life.

Norm Johnson-Korbuly

The food is excellent. Megan our server added to the experience. Excellent experience and service..

Sarah Everson

Second time visiting TBF was this past weekend for a birthday dinner, and we were beyond impressed. The cocktails were spot on, the food was top notch, and service was incredible. Two out of the four people in our party had dietary restrictions/food allergies, and they went above and beyond to accommodate. Thank you Bachelor Farmer!

Paul Nielsen

Way too salty!! I love gourmet food, but they salt everything as much as possible. Super tasty, but if I salted my own cooking this much it might be gourmet too.

Angela Carlson

Absolutely the best meal we’ve had in the Twin Cities. The kind of place where it doesn’t really matter if you don’t know what each item on the menu is, just order something and know it will be beautifully presented with thoughtful ingredients and it will taste outstanding. Service was excellent. Our anniversary date night was elevated beautifully by small gestures from our server: she made sure the cocktail she suggested really met my expectations and though we declined dessert, she served a pallet cleanser with bubbles to finish our meal. An outstanding dining experience.

Mark Berthelsen

Exceptional quality and care. Fantastic place.

Matthew Vene

Food is pretty good. Definitely its own unique place compared to most places. It's odd, but in a good way.

Taylor Davis

Always a great in fantastic experience at bachelor Farmer. I've sat at the bar twice and in the dining room twice and always seem to have a great time engaging with our server/bartender and receiving great service no matter where we are. Their specials are usually what I gravitate towards, the ham dinner in the pictures below was one of my favorites.

Good News Network -GNN

Wonderful atmosphere; romantic, casual or fancy... Truly come dressed as you are! Comfortable setting, knowledgeable waitress amazing food!

Ryan Stroh

If you're looking for excellent service and interesting flavors, this is a great place.

Diane Albanese

One of the best restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of dining this year. Recommended by a local, I had my doubts because she mentioned that they specialized in Scandinavian food. I didn’t know that was a category. So the bar specialty Dram drink was fabulous. A knowledgeable bartender who could suggest drinks! We hit Chop Night so I got to dine on the tastiest pork chop ever. We just loved this gem. Call for reservations because I’m sure they’re busy all year. One of the best memories of Minneapolis!

Julie Taeko

Everything that we had was absolutely delicious. I had the side of Cauliflowers and a main dish of squash, mushrooms, eggplant, and delicious red sauce. Both of the dishes were absolutely fantastic. And I had a bite of the peanut caramel sundae, which is absolutely delicious and had phenomenal flavors. I would definitely come back here again.

Therese Selbekk

Nice little restaurant however found it extremely expensive for what you got served.

Mike Rothwell

I've come every time I've visited the twin cities. That's only a handful of times but it's always been a top notch experience. This last visit though was just perfect in every way so i think i owe them a review. Cheers.

Ludvig Stone

I selected the lamb leg with vegetables, toasted almonds. The dish was fabulous. For dessert, a slice of rhubarb and almond cake. I accompanied my meal with a glass of German Pinot Noir. Yum! My colleagues selected the entrees of half chicken, and the pork tenderloin, both were equally delightful.

Kylie Johnson

We had a beautiful meal here. The restaurant is very trendy with fresh ingredients and creative flavor combinations. They have a great wine list but craft cocktails are lacking. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions for our meal.

Katie Asher

Stunning atmosphere! The food is so delicious! I would highly recommend this restaurant. I haven’t seen anything so unique and this place was the best part of mum trip! I will be coming back as soon as I can.

Kelsey Vireshwara

Great place, with some of the best coffee in town! Not the best spot to work on a laptop for more than a little while though, very busy.

Nathaniel Chew

Probably the best dining experience I've had in the twin cities. Incredible food, with really fresh and well-sourced ingredients. We had the grilled lamb (sausage and rib), which was cooked perfectly and had a delicious sauce; also had the walleye which was lovely. Deserts were excellent and definitely worth trying. Get a few and share! The service we received was fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and focused on giving us the best experience. Will definitely be back soon!

Maggie

Went here with some family members and was not disappointed! I had to look up several of the ingredients in dishes online but don’t let that or the price tag steer you away! The flavors were out of this world with every item we ordered. TBF also has cool and friendly staff, right away we felt welcomed. I’d definitely recommend this place to someone who’s looking for a unique dining experience.

Patrice V

I treated a friend from the UK who was in town on business. A great place to showcase the best of Minnesota.

sarah em

The setting was dimly lit with music in the background. We were seated near the window. Very romantic. Parking is small, so you have to park somewhere else far. But I believe they do have a valet parking. Food was ok. Not to be rude, but the spinach that night was mildly strong for my liking and i felt like all the ingredients in that meal were just mixed in together but they don’t blend well together. I tasted different flavors but the chemistry wasn’t there. Maybe it’s just me and my husband. Im not a food critic but that was my experience. A lot of reviewers say they were “blown away by the taste”. It was expensive for a meatball and chicken. I was blown away by the price. Lol. Food portions were normal size. I guess you can bring your beau here. Eh.

John S.

I was able to secure a late night reservation last minute through Open Table. I wanted to have an experience while dining, and this place did deliver on a lot of points. I would offer this place has a lot of creative dishes they put forth on a regularly changing basis- which keeps things fun and interesting. Their beer, wine and liquor selection is varied and of quality- I ordered a featured cider from a local cidery. It was served in a wine glass, (at a wine glass portion) for $8. It was certainly the smallest amount of cider I’ve ever been served, especially for $8. That all being said, I was underwhelmed with the cider, compounded even more so that it was priced as it was and served in such a small quantity. Which leads me to my final critique of The Bachelor Farmer- while their layering of flavors and combinations are above most others...the portioning, matched with the pricing, seems a bit high. A nominal change, one way or the other- slightly larger portions, or $1/$2 less in price, and this place would be truly amazing all around. The service staff was excellent, which was greatly appreciated, as they did make you feel welcome and like apart of their family.

Regina Hernandez

Great restaurant in Minneapolis. We walked in on Friday night and were lucky enough to snag two seats on the bar. We ordered the walleye and grilled lamb and both dishes were spot on. The drinks are great too. We'll definitely return next time we are in Minneapolis.

Paul Pereira

Good ambiance, good food, good service

leo spott

Oooo, this is one of the must eat dinner places in the twin cities. Wow, I never imagined the twin cities having a place which could compete nationally on the food scene. I have loved every trip to The Bachelor Farmer. I would recommend it as a great date spot or special occasion meal.

christina noren

Cool place. Nice building. Servers and concept was cool. Food was very eclectic

Scott Smith

I work very close to this restaurant and have been many times for dinner. I have also grabbed food from their "hot dog cart" outside for lunch. Always excellent food. The service and space are really nice, too. The Marvel Bar below is great for cocktails as well.

Michael Stearney

An excellent farm to table dining experience. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. The server was quite knowledgeable about the menu and the extensive wine list. While we can't afford to eat here as often as we would like, it is definitely a special occasion destination.

Alexis Cunningham

Incredible dinner here the other night. They use seasonal ingredients.

Christa St. John

Happened to be downtown this morning and my husband and I were hoping for a fun new to us brunch experience. The place was a bit hard to find (signage?) but we got in the door and the atmosphere and presentation was light and fun. I was looking around for the brunch/breakfast menu and it was by the door so I read it quickly and stepped up to the cashier to order stating “I’m new to this place so I’m trying to figure out my order”. She stared at me. No response and no acknowledgment of my statement. My husband began his coffee order and she at least responded. I asked a follow up question and she just looked at me. I then just ordered a breakfast sandwich (only thing I could recall from the menu on the wall) as did my husband. I didn’t see prices for the food anywhere so was surprised at the cost of two coffees and two sandwiches ($35)! Sandwiches were open faced, large and seemed to have fresh ingredients. The entire experience felt like “since you don’t know what to do here, you shouldn’t be here”. — Just to clarify, this was the Café.

Ryan Flynn

We had an excellent experience here. Our waitress made great and thoughtful recommendations including the groan board which is not to be missed. Since it was only 2 of and we wanted to try a bunch of things they even offered small portions of some of the items. I also loved their half bottle wine options. I tried a sparkling orange wine option that was great. My husband loved the beers that out waitress recommended. Great service top to bottom.

Robert McCray

First off, the service was incredible. I sat at the bar to have a few drinks and an app. The bartender was extremely knowledgeable and personable. The beef carpaccio was very, very good.

Ameet Kamath

Every dinner becomes a date here.

Adam Hamilton

Excellent food and wonderful decor. My wife commented a couple times on wanting the wall paper and wainscoting. The food was perfection. Everything that was brought out was delicious. I had the lamb chop and my wife had the squash. We were especially happy with the Toast. Its a large size that satisfied our party of four. My only critique was the service while pleasant and refined was slow. Frequently our glasses were empty well before we waved them down to refill. Also we sat with menus for way to long waiting for service. Service can be fixed, the food wins a restaurant so in my book this is a win.

Cassandra McNally-Morgan

I've always had amazing experiences here. The servers are all super knowledgeable, and if they don't have an answer for you, they get it for you speedily. They are down to earth, don't feel stuffy at all, while still making you feel like it's a fine dining experience. The food is awesome!!!!

Laramie Otto

The Bachelor Farmer has been our destination of choice for innovative and exciting dining for years. The space is decorated in a way that is both modern and cozy, and is very inviting. The menu changes seasonally, but we have always found it to be extremely innovative - we have enjoyed many dishes here that we still talk about. Not to mention, the cocktail game is strong - the Basque Honeymoon may be our favorite cocktail in the Twin Cities, and we have been known to stop by the bar just to enjoy this delicious beverage! The main thing I love about The Bachelor Farmer is that you will see people dressed to the nines dining, but you will also see people in jeans. This tells me that it's not about image and being "fancy" but it's about the food and the experience, and to me that gives the restaurant a much more united and welcome feeling. Final details that I love: the notebooks, the super attentive waitstaff, the afghan room and the booth spot in the bar! One of our favorite restaurants for a reason!

PJ Johnson

This was mine and my wife's first time dining here and I don't know why it took us so long to get here! We were celebrating Valentine's day together and it could not have been more perfect! The food quit literally evoked an emotional experience. Every dish was prepared and served beautifully and our server Danielle was so friendly and helpful! The drinks were ordered were so original, creative and delicious! We seriously can not wait to go back this Spring when they roll out a new menu! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Superbuick26

Excellent across the board, vegetarian options, extensive wine list, wonderful main courses with nice portions. Those, and a very good dessert capped off a full dining experience.

Matthew Hallan

The staff was very attentive and the food was excellent. However, the portion size of my entree was absurdly small. I ordered the grilled lamb and would estimate the size of cut of meat at 2-3 oz. More of a snack than an entree and not appropriate when priced at +$30.

Mickey Cotter

The Bachelor Farmer is a downtown Minneapolis gem. Our server, James, was especially helpful with some menu clarifications and portion recommendations. Be sure to try a few appetizers - the combinations of flavors and textures on the carrots with pesto, cheese, and candied nuts could not be beat. Great cocktails, delicious food, phenomenal service, and a pleasant atmosphere make this place the perfect spot for a treat yourself kind of night out. On top of all that, they're even powered by the wind! Love this restaurant.

Paul Richards

Best night out I've ever had. We sat at the bar, a regular Sat next to us and recommended the oysters that night. The staff was so sweet and nice. I've never been treated so nicely. Truly an amazing experience.

Tony O'Brian

The food was simply outstanding and the space is warm and inviting. Wish they had a better wine by the glass menu but that doesn't detract from it's excellence. Stop in at the speakeasy Marvel Bar downstairs for an after dinner craft cocktail.

S W Goodin

Delicious food prepared and cooked with pride, had an amazing meal here this evening. Wonderful ambiance and very gracious staff made this a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

R Bool

Friendly staff and great service. Our server recommendations on everything we ate was great. Will definitely go there again.

Colin Dunn

Had an amazing wild rice bowl with wild mushrooms (morels). Well thought out and high quality food here! Cool space as well, in an old railroad warehouse.

Henry Nieberg

TBF serves unique and original dishes that are almost all locally sourced. I enjoyed the charred golden beets, but was absolutely blown away by the pickled kale. I wish the kale itself was its own dish, it would be the best dish at the restaurant. I was a fan of the whipped red wattle pork fat served with shallot jam. I was also utterly impressed with the walleye, since it was cooked with pork jowl. Once again, the greens had a beautiful marriage of acidity and salinity that I am still craving. For the dessert, the toffee semifreddo is a MUST GET.

Vania Hamner

Oh wow. Wowee wow wow. Phenomenal. Finest meal I've had in MSP. Knowledgeable staffwho take clear pride in their restaurant. A real treat!

emily geiger

Fried green tomatoes, chicken, and French silk pie were incredible! Service at the bar was stellar. Love this place and would recommend to anyone looking for a great dining experience

Lydia Jane Photography

While we all know the food here is amazing, I wanted to add a review about The Bachelor Farmer as a wedding venue. What a delightfully unique spot for an intimate ceremony and reception! I was so impressed by the staff and how they easily moved the guests from room to room so they could take down and set up dinner (which was delicious!). Highly recommend if you're looking for a space to host a small wedding.

Rachel Kampling

One of my favorite places to eat in Minneapolis.

Bryan Martinez

one of the exceptional restaurants that i've had the pleasure to experience... every dish was superb... from the chips... to the bread... the salad... the main course... the generous beer tasting... the dessert... will come back again when i have the chance... a plus for not having a signage and made look twice if i got to the right place... service was amazing too!

matthew gregg

The food here is absolutely incredible. Highly recommend getting one of the toasts and trying something you might not normally try. The staff are very knowledgeable about the food they serve. Be careful buying glasses of wine off the chalkboard, they can be expensive.

Tim Dunbar

TBF was wonderful. Most likely the best meal out I have had in months. Locally raised trout was fantastic and the side order of carrots served on a bed of fresh ricotta-like cheese with candied pecans and dollops of pesto was fabulous. I will definitely eat here again.

Richard Lingner

Tasty food - seemingly simple and basic, but the flavours are expertly mingled and intensely good. Friendly staff, great wine list. Appetisers and sides are worth trying.

Jan Griffin

They make great cocktails. Ambiance was perfect for a date. The food was very good. We shared some apps and entrees. Our server was a little rushed, but it was Saturday night. Ask about their wines by the glass chalkboard. A fun way to try better wines without the whole bottle.

JP Pasion

This is everything. The selection of Italian wine is top notch and the vegetables are euphoric. Rarely give out 5 stars but the odd combos of the best flavors/pairings are what lead me to such a appraising review. I would come back every time if I lived here and would highly recommend this place. Excellent Barolo and quality ingredients. Licked my plate clean because of the vegetables! Ordered the grilled lamb, but the fresh cherry tomatoes and green beans stole the show. Utterly delicious. Mad props from a stuck up Los Angelian. I can’t even....

Joyce Norman

Deeeeelish! Good service, calm atmosphere.

Joseph B Pou

This place is amazing. I never would have thought of ordering picketed turnips, but am so glad I did. The Bachelor Farmer is one of my top 10 restaurants of all time. The toasts are amazing. I remember the waitress saying their menu changes depending on the season, so if the pocketed turnips are still on the menu, order it you won’t be disappointed. On a plus side, the front of the restaurant serves breakfast, so you can eat dinner sleep and come back for a unique but equally good breakfast.

Jessie Russell

tristan henderson

Exceptional dining experience! Short rib Sunday dinner will not disappoint.

Stopped in because I was wildly craving a croissant and this spot had great reviews. I got a latte, which was absolutely delicious, and a chocolate croissant, which was perfect: flaky, legit, and DELICIOUS. This place had great ambiance and design too! I came on Sunday afternoon and most tables were taken, with a good mix of people working and catching up with friends.

Delicious fresh and eclectic food in a hip and trendy atmosphere. If looking for a quiet place to visit, might not be a good choice. But lots of fun and relaxing time.

Delicious food! And a fun low-key environment. Our waitress was not friendly, but she wasn't exactly rude either, just clearly not interested in being the type of rakes I would've expected there. But the food was sooo good. Loved the trout starter, the beef was great, and finishing with the frozen orange mousse was perfection.

Fabulous meal. First off, our server Lauren was exceptional. Her knowledge of the wine list and menu, coupled with her professionalism and sense of humor, were a great start to the meal. The wine list is fun and eclectic with lots of value and price points. The groaning board was an excellent starter and enough for two or more. I loved my walleye - crispy and not overpowered. The lamb shank was flavorful and cooked just right. The after dinner drink selection was equally eclectic. The interior is equally aesthetically pleasing with exposed beams in the old building. We really enjoyed our dinner and the atmosphere.

Made my 2nd visit to Bachelor Farmer last weekend, and it may have been an even better experience than the first time. The service was friendly and attentive; the staff seemed to really care about the food & drinks, and had extensive knowledge of the menu. They were happy to split up non-entree orders in to two plates for my girlfriend and I, which was greatly appreciated. Don't miss the pork chop (only available on Mondays, I believe) - it had a tenderness and flavor equal to some of the best steaks I've ever had. The bill gets fairly steep in a hurry, but it's well worth it. I will be back again!

Wonderful enviornment, but gets cramped quick on busy times.

Utterly delicious food and great hospitality!! Special shoutout to my server, Lauren, who was just simply amazing; just to mention a couple, she made great food recommendations that was well beyond my expectations. The beet appetizer and market fish entree were so tasty. It was the first time for me to be in this restaurant and because of this fantastic experience, whenever I come back to MN again, I would definitely make a stop.

Amazing food!! A delicious menu based on regional, seasonal ingredients - you can tell! Even with a dairy allergy they were so accommodating and professional about it. You could have thought the dishes I ordered were originally dairy free. So delicious. And the service was the best we’ve had in years. Our server was Taylor - very knowledgeable and incredibly nice.
