This Restaurant belongs to the category of French restaurant.
Maybe one of the last days of the year on their wonderful patio. Had handful of wonderful apps, fine bottle of wine and fantastic onion soup. Our wait person was wonderful and fun. Want to go back and have a more serious meal with them.
Hosted a business dinner at Salut with 14 people and my client was very impressed. We showed up at 5:30p on Tuesday and the bar was too busy to get us drinks but we got to our table early and had great service. Everything we ordered was excellent based on comments from the table. I had the duck, which was very good. The people around me had the fresh pasta and said it was simply elegant and worth coming back to try again. Highly recommend Salut.
Great food! Todd was an amazing waiter! Great atmosphere too!
Omg the gnrl mngr was a sour grape. After work stop for a cold beer 3 amigos speeking spanish and laughing about life, he comes over and clearly upset because using a different lenguage tells us we cant use that kind of words.the bartender was awesome.never going back.yes he clearly didnt understand that in our culture is ok to lol
The staff was friendly and efficient. My husband and I both ordered the tenderloin steak sandwich and fries, really good and at the price of a burger. So dessert, when creme brulee is on the menu there's no question what I'm going to have, wonderful.
Unfortunately I think this place has gone downhill in the past year. Both my soup and main came out barely warm, and the waitress seemed simply annoyed with the fact that there was a problem. It's a neighborhood place for us, but I doubt we'll be back anytime soon
Great service and the food was amazing!
Good atmosphere, fantastic food, good friendly service and plenty of free parking. The only downside is small European sized portions, otherwise would be 5 stars.
Such a Nice and Cozy place! I loved the atmosphere and the waiters were so nice and helpful. I ordered the Smoked Trout Tartine, which was absolutely delicious. It did take some time for the food to be made, but that was expected since it was a Friday night. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
I love this place, everything we've eaten here is excellent. I had the hanger steak. Its was cooked perfectly. We had some sides. The sides are gourmet and the quantities are ample. We shared 2 with a table of 4 people. The mushrooms were to die for. The mixed drinks are very good, but pricey.
Food was very good. It was very busy and service was really slow.
Poor food, mediocre service.
super enjoyable. great old fashions
Very good drinks and food.
A very solid menu with good service. Sitting outdoors was spectacular today.
So I decided to get a drink with a friend to and always drove by this place and Thought I should take it out. 1st coming into the place I didn't realize how big it was looked at the menu things were a bit pricey so I decided to do some appetizers 1st started off with an old fashion a was not what I expected it was not delicious still drink it anyways. A some of the things that I got were the S cargo blue crab cake and also the saffron muscles. The as cargo had to be returned because it was really grainy and not good at all. Then we had the Apple tard which was delicious it had just the right amount of Apple and whipped cream and Carmel all on top of a puff pastry. I would definitely recommend this place to someone looking for a nice patio
I'm obsessed with this place after my very first visit. The wine selection is wonderful and the food is devine! I thought the prices were quite modest. The service was VERY good. I can not wait to go back. They had an adorable patio too, so can't wait to check that out next summer!
Great service and food
Locally owned and yummy. A special place for a stunning night out. Get the seafood tower for an experience your guests won't forget.
I was expecting good food, and I am glad to say that it did not disappoint. Quality food, good service and delicious drinks. I will definitely be returning for another meal at this great restaurant. My one note to Management would be to tone down the Banana's in the crepe... I took half of them out and it was much better! I buy a crepe to taste the crepe with an accent flavor, not a banana with a small hint of crepe. Still tasted good though! And I ate the extra banana on the side. Plus offer more options for your crepes!
The best food! Love the moules frites. Will continue to come back many times. Great atmosphere and fun place to go for date night or friends!
Charges a fee and says it's to compensate their employees better. Just raise your prices and treat your employees good in the first place. At least you can be respected better by doing it that way, instead of advertising one cost and then adding more.
Typical small portion sizes of similar restaurants, but very well cooked and great tasting. Awesome staff and decor. Casual yet fancy feel.
I just had the most delicious sandwich and soup here. I forgot the name of it, but it was ham & cheese on a toasted bun with an egg. Creamy chicken and rice soup on the side... can’t wait to go back!
Fun atmosphere and great brunch options. I had an egg white omelette with spinach, onions and goat cheese. It was delicious. Service was also attentive and friendly. Definitely recommended for midday eats!
Everything was good, just not great. The service was outstanding which is why this is 4 stars. One item that was outstanding was the baked brie. Everyone at the table wanted more.
The food was absolutely wonderful. The service was great. The only thing I would say is that it's a little spendy. We were able to go during happy hour which made a huge difference in pricing. We ordered several happy hour items and appetizers. Everything was delicious and totally filled us up. We'll definitely be back, during happy hour.
Salut is a great little spot off grand in St. Paul. On my most recent trip we had a banana crepe and some Eggs Benedict. Both were fantastic. I've also had their French dip, and their cheeseburgers. Their excellent as well. Definitely stop by if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed.
Love the oysters here. Service is occasionally a little slow, but the food is amazing.
I am in live with this place. Whether having a happy hour glass of wine on the patio or enjoying a dinner in the evening, this restaurant always delivers. The mushroom pasta is amazing. The tartare is my favorite appetizer. Their French onion soup is the best. Service is very good.
Great staff warm friendly environment good for families, date night, or meetings. Food is fantastic an well priced... Will go back time an again loved it
The patio has a very comfortable atmosphere and happy hour is a great value! The truffle fries, flat bread, mussels and onion rings are all excellent and the drink specials are great! The house wine is good. We have been going quite a bit recently. Would recommend!
Great lunch. Best French onion soup in town. Turkey burger with Avocado was good although a bit messy for finger food (those slippery avocados ☺). Quick service, friendly wait staff.
Service is often slow and leisurely. As long as you're not in a hurry it is a delightful place to go for lunch, happy hour, or dinner. I especially enjoy their patio on sunny afternoons!
Really enjoyed after work gathering spot
The best crab cakes ever! Loved the Salut Sazarac cocktail- visited in the winter, but assume the patio must be beautiful in the summertime. We sat at the bar and our bartender was excellent!! Plan ahead for a stop at this place-we visited on a Thursday and the place closed at 10. Seemed a little pricey until one enjoys the beautiful ambiance- it's totally worth it.
Great lunch on the patio. French vibe and a French twist to the food. They have a nice lunch menu. $$
We came to celebrate a family birthday. We had a marvelous time talking, tasting, sharing bites. What a PLEASURE to dine in a place that was not so loud that conversation was impossible. We started with the mushrooms and Brussels sprouts. Marvelous! My DIL who is a good Catholic but does not really like fish, dutifully ordered the salmon as it was a Friday during Lent. She was so impressed, she stated that next time she would happily order one to go and save it for the following Friday. I had the Wild Mushroom Papardelle. I usually stop half way through a meal and take half home. This time I paused, then ploughed right through the rest. I couldn't stop! One son ordered the duck. This too was stunning. Perfectly done and perched on an amazing parsnip puree. I was envious as I adore parsnips in any form. The other dishes were just as well made and delicious. I saw people of all ages enjoying Salut. I look forward to my next visit.
Great food, awesome drink selection and very pleasant staff
Patio is wonderful. Service good and menu broad. The bass was superb.
This patio restaurant is dog friendly. They even will bring a water dish for your pooch pal. Food is delicious and service was friendly. My Saturday night meal did take a very long time to arrive but they made sure to keep us well hydrated with adult beverages in the meantime. The watermelon salad was particularly delish.
The food was very average, if not below average. We had the steak sandwich and burger. It was also overpriced. But the service was good.
Loved sitting on the patio there! The chairs are a bit wobbly but other than that no complaints. We enjoyed a shared table plate of the pomme frittes. They have a truffle oil on them that is delicious. I also had a caesar salad with a French baguette. With the baguette it tasted fresh out of the oven. I am not from this area but when visiting, I would most definitely go back.
I love this place in any season. Great atmosphere, service and food. Summer patio dining is lovely. Recently enjoyed brunch on a snowy winter Saturday with my adult daughter. When I asked her if she'd ever had quiche that good, she answered, "Yes..." (Pause) "In FRANCE!"
Not bad, atmosphere & food were fine, wine was served in glass not crystal. Bartenders were great, they get 5 stars.
Great patio, great service and food. Always a hit.
Cute spot. Only stopped in for a sunny day cocktail but Definable going to come back for dinner
Without hyperbole the slowest service I have ever received. Turned a quick work lunch into an all day affair. I will never be back.
The food was delicious! Creme Brûlée for dessert was by far my favorite. I thought the cheese plate was a little overpriced for what it was and the service was a little slow. Otherwise, it was a great atmosphere and experience!
Great spot, full bar, and great apps!
I like the outdoor seating.
We had six adults for dinner at Salut. No problem getting a reservation on a Saturday night. Our server was good about giving us time to decide food and drinks. We ordered two sets of bread ($2) and meatballs for appetizers (spicy!). Dinners were tasty, with enough to satisfy and well presented. Ordered and shared two desserts, which were delicious. Service was fine, not very personal, but we got what we needed in a timely manner, nice enough. Would return again!
We went here for my brother's birthday lunch. Excellent menu selection. Staff attentive and friendly. The trout eggs Benedict was fabulous
Pretty much as the description, French food without the associated snobbery. Main courses priced around $25. Nice outdoor dining area. Wine list much better tan the beer list, but that would be expected.
Amazing patio and food. Kind service. Excellent.
Great atmosphere. Great menu.
Delicious food, yummy drinks. Great place to hang out with people you love.
Jordie the bartender is an absolute star!!! He was great with recommendations, know exactly what we'd want based on very vague information, and also had a number for a great locksmith! He TOTALLY turned my night around!
Went there for my son's birthday. Party of 14 and everything was amazing! The food was fabulous.
Stopped by for a quick lunch with my family. Had the French Onion Soup - absolutely exceptional! Service was a solid. Overall would recommend.
Exceptional and flavorful food, I like the ambience the spot has, and the employees were friendly. Will definitely come back.
Happy hour here is nice and reasonably priced. Hh Menu includes mussels, oysters, truffle fries, onion rings and other fun options. Cocktails, wines and beers on the hh menu as well. Their regular menu is really quite good, as are the specialty coffees.
Always love coming here. The fries are to die for. A lot of people get extra hollandaise sauce to dip them in. We always tend to sit at the bar, and get great service from the bartenders. Grab one of the fun drinks off of the menu.
I love the french onion burger meal i highly suggest that if you go and eat there and the people are nice and good service
Food was great, service was slow but after reaching out to manager, he made it better.
My wife and I had our wedding reception there and it was wonderful. The food was excellent, the servers were attentive, and the process to set it up was simple. Thanks again to Angie for everything. Salut and the Parasole group have earned two lifelong customers.
Literally the best food and service. Don't go, the rest of life will be a disappointment.
I had the Curry Chicken Lentil soup and a Salad with Pears and Pecans. It was super delicious and I would go back just for that soup. Great service as well
Excellent food & service nice quiet atmosphere.
A little pricey but happy hour was a good deal. Great food and drinks
Wonderful food and friendly staff. They did great with a bigger group. One of the best eggs Benedict I've had.
Great meal and flavor was excellent.
Decided to take my wife out for dinner on her birthday. Read a lot of reviews on other customers and decided this would be a great place to go. We got seated right away and after that is when it went downhill. It took over 20 minutes to get our drink and dinner ordered in. On top of that we did not get our drink for another 10 minutes, that’s a total of a half hour now. Dinner and apps were served within a timely manner but come to our surprise we were cut off drinks after 3 rounds. Even when we stated we have a sober cab(we have had one drink an hour so not even buzzed), at the same time the wedding party is in The next room has no issue getting the whatever they want. At the end of the day, the server and cooks were amazing but the management down right sucked. My wife and I have over 15 years combined experience in the customer service industry and feel this restaurant is out of touch and over priced for what you get in the end.
A premium brunch option on Grand Ave, without the massive price you might expect. 5 of us had full meals and drinks for less than 200$ including tip. The patio is also very nice when the weather permits!
So glad we found this place. Great menu with a French influence. Everything we ordered was beautiful and full of flavors. The prices are very reasonable and the wait staff was friendly and efficient. This could become my favorite restaurant if I lived in this area.
We order appetizers, mussels, crispy brie, and crab cake... 100% recommended, drinks were delicious. I ordered duck and my boyfriend pork shank... Both were overcooked, the duck was complete mushy, the skin wasn't crispy at all.
Apparently they aren't actually open till 10. Showed up before 10 and they told me they would give me a drink but they wouldn't serve me food. Do I look like I need a drink? I didn't come here to drink, I came to eat! Coming here by myself, they must figure my bill might be too small for them to care. I came to eat good food regardless of the price, but I guess they're too good for my money?
Great patio, good food if not really French
The food was great but did not appreciate the 3% extra charge. I will think differently in picking this place because of the extra charge.
Nice place, good food and everyone is friendly. Plenty of parking.
I ordered burgers and fries and was very happy. Good service.
Good service,and good food.
Even though they were busy was overall impressed on how attentive our server was throughout the entire meal. We had a large party of 12 and she was always there before we had to ask. Great food also
Great food and atmosphere
When I’m in St Paul, this is the spot I love to come for a burger. The bacon cheeseburger is one of the best. They have great fries too. And their bread and butter are delicious. I love their patio too. Very cool ambience inside.
Food was outstanding. The quality of the food is five stars and the presentation is also super. Service was very good - even though our server had a large party to take care of in addition to ours, she was on top of everything. The ambiance flexes easily, casual to formal. And save room for dessert because it's a must!
Two words: Pommes Frites. If you go to Salut and you don’t partake in these delicious fries, you haven’t had a true Salut experience. Also, skip the béarnaise they serve with them, ask for the spicy aioli instead. It is to die for. They used to have a seared tuna burger that was heavenly but it hasn’t been on the menu for years, such a bummer. And don’t forget to try the blueberry mojito!!!!
Prices and serving size the title is american we are an obiese community. The table cloth tho thankyou for the canvase it totally kept my son occupied.
Good service, beautiful patio, and, most importantly, delicious food. I had the lamb sliders and the gaspacho, perfect for a summer evening, and my dinner companion had watermelon salad and crab cakes, all were perfection.
My family loves this place, usually good food and service however unfortunately today we have learned that what we were told once before was beef only (French Moroccan meatballs) does actually have pork mixed with beef! Definitely should clarify that with hostesses and menu.
So good! The staff was very attentive and kind and the food was delicious. We may begin doing a Monday date night as they do a Dinner With Julia Child event on Monday nights. Yummy!
They have gluten free buns for burgers.
Fabulous atmosphere and delicious entrees!
Very friendly and professional service. Food was excellent, steak done as ordered. The opera cake was delicious!
Great food, comfortable atmosphere and great staff!
One of my favorite happy hour places.... all the food is fantastic.
Good food, but pricey.
Had a great first experience here. Decór was on point. Wasn’t too difficult getting a reservation day of, which is always a plus. Server was knowledgable and responsive, as well as gave a number of great suggestions. Highly recommend. Would definitely return.
