This is a review of Happy Hour and game day specials. Part of me doesn't want to share what a gem this spot is. The bar (unlike the dining room) has a "come as you are" vibe on game days! You will not believe the special they run on game says - steak burger + fries + beer all for $12. It has to rival the best deals downtown

Murray's is really the only place to go for a great steak. I've eaten at other steak restaurants and none can compare ... especially with the filet. Juicy, tender and full of flavor. Whether it be lunch or dinner, every time I imbibe it's been a wonderful, delicious experience.

I wasn't overly impressed. It has a ton of old school charm from 'back in the day', which I loved. The staff was courteous and professional. The atmosphere is nice. It just wasn't my vibe. I feel the fare was overpriced for the value. The menu was very misleading. The bill for everyone was over double what we expected.

Terrible, horrible service tonight and I love this place usually. The head bartender had to be flagged down every time I needed something. When I first got here it took 12 minutes sitting at the bar to get waited on!! And I had to flag him down. Never once had he ever asked if i needed anything else or how things were. Then the other bartender ignored me completely until i put my credit card on bar to check out. Otherwise they are the slowest and disinterested bartenders in the biz. So disappointed. Go to Ikes next door for better service.

A true Minneapolis institution. Murray's has all the ambiance of an old school supper club and their food is amazing. I still think it's the best steakhouse in the Twin Cities. Ruth's Chris - eat your heart out! Enough with the chain steakhouse. If I'm going to drop over $100 on dinner, I want it to go to a homegrown restaurant. Not one listed on the NASDAQ. Also, don't fill up on the buttery little toast guys!

First off, I've been here several times but not in the last 8 years. The experience has always been good previously. Service was just ok but not what you would expect at a higher end steakhouse. We ordered the Chateaubriand ($115) to share. As our server awkwardly carved the steak tableside, it appeared to be under cooked as we had ordered it medium. We each received a plate with 3 slices of fillet drowning in quite a bit of blood. (I realize most people prefer it this way.) We ate most but a few pieces were more like rare than medium rare. When the server came back and asked if we would like it boxed up we said yes because it was just too rare. She jokingly said when we reheat it, then it should be cooked perfectly! (with a giggle) No money taken off the bill and we didn't ask. The au gratin potatoes were bland as well as the caeser salad. The French onion soup was very salty as well as the steak and the garlic bread. I wasn't too impressed this time around. 3 stars is probably too generous but it hasn't ever been like this before. Still gave a 20% plus tip but I probably wont be back for quite awhile if ever.

Visited with a group of fourteen. Called two days ahead to reserve a table for lunch. They quickly took my info and we were set. Seated our party promptly in a private room. Table service was great and attentive. Food was done perfectly. People had a wide array of plates and everyone was satisfied. Will return again.

WOW, Amazing food. The staff is extremely professional and talented. This is by far the Restaurant in the nation. The bread basket alone was unbelievably so good. The steaks are by far the absolute best you can get. Butter knife special yummmm! If you have not been here, go try it immediately.

Coming from a Canadian background where the service standard is very high, I must say that the service here was amazing. The escargot was my favorite dish. The butter knife steak is incredible but the portion is a little large for two people.

Stopped in for lunch just due to not having a reservation for dinner. Totally glad we did. Great beer and cocktail selection. Amazing strip with brussel sprouts. Very buttery finish. Perfectly medium and tender. One of the best, juiciest strips I've ever had. Wife really wanted a burger and very much enjoyed it. Asparagus was great as well Desserts looked amazing but we didn't have the room. Bar area is very deco and cozy. Bartender was a sweetheart If I get back to Minneapolis, I'm going back to Murray's

We were visiting from Kansas City and ordered the Silver Butter Knife steak for 2 and as born and bred Kansans, this is one of the best steaks we have ever had. Highly recommend getting the blue cheese crust with it, they bring it out on a separate plate. The service is amazing. The drinks are made expertly. We finished the meal with a homemade raspberry pie that was to die for.

Murrays is the best steakhouse in the twin cities and they really take care of you. The service is always top notch and the steaks are just as good. One recommendation is to order some of their beef jerky. It isn't on the dinner menu but it is delicious and a great appetizer or something you can order to go.

Was here for my little brothers Wedding dinner. About 20 or so. Got in right on time. As always they have the nicest wait staff and the Food was superb as always. Everyone was constantly checking on us and making sure we were hydrated at all times and if we needed anything they were there to help. Its on the upper side for menu pricing but believe me when your plate comes you'll know why. Great portions especially the silver butter knife steak. HUGE. Porterhouse TOPNOTCH & Huge. Etc. An amazing piece of history downtown Minneapolis. The food was incredible and the staff was excellent. You never know who will walk in to dine a couple tables away. The best steak sandwich you will ever have at lunch... If you are there for dinner you do yourself a disservice if you have not tried the Butter knife steak. Enough good cannot be said about Murray's. I have yet to understand why anyone goes to Manny's with Murray's as an available choice. Not that Manny's is bad (it is quite good) but Murray's is a step above in flavor, quality, class, and service. I have tried both, and if Murray's is open, I cannot see a reason to go elsewhere for my future steak needs in Minneapolis.

Beautiful holiday decorations. Our server was Dylan. He was warm, friendly, engaging, funny and professional. His suggestions were excellent (the sidecar cocktail and raspberry pie, to die for!) and willing to work with our requests. Hats off to head chef Ryan! Our steaks were prepared to perfection. Every staff member we encountered was welcoming. The whole evening from start to finish was superb! Would highly recommend many times over. Thank you, Murray's for a memorable evening.

We were uncomfortable the whole time, we may not as much as other customers you have. But rest assured, when we go out to eat we can definitely afford to tip. I overheard our waiter talking to another waiter about how we were “in the wrong restaraunt and should head back to chili’s” I was embarrassed. Will not return.

Last night was our first time at Murray's - it did not disappoint! Everything was delicious, we ordered a filet mignon, a porterhouse and loaded potatoes. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great too, dim lighting, beautiful "vintage" dining room and wonderful staff. We hope to come back soon! I highly recommend Murray's to anyone wanting a "dress up" kinda date night!

After having being shorted one seating on a reservation we showed up 15 minutes early waited 20 minutes after our reservation I was seated on a table 1 place setting short the service the food was fabulous I asked for my plate to be boxed and San home they threw away all of my sides and only sent me home with my protein after calling and speaking with the manager he asked what do I want I said for things to be made right and all he offered was a $5 gift certificate on a $190 meal stay away from this restaurant they do not care about their patrons

We went tonight for my father's birthday. We had a very nice booth fit for royalty. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the tournedos Oscar which was amazing, my steak was perfectly prepared. I asked to try the house steak sauce however my steak didn't need it. Our server Abby was attentive and very nice, she made an already awesome meal even more enjoyable. Thanks for the hospitality. Murray's is a very high-end, high-quality food restaurant. The food is delicious and cooked perfectly. I had the 20-oz. ribeye and creme brulee, and it was to die for. It is very expensive, but totally worth it. For me, it is a once in a long while experience, just for the price, but one I'd like to have again.

Old world feel, upscale dining with a hefty price tag. We were really looking forward to eating here while on vacation but the meat fell flat and lacked flavor. And the au gratin potatoes were odd. It's def a social take your time environment. Staff was friendly but I will wait and eat my local grass fed beef at home.

Been going here for years, good classic place in downtown Minneapolis. I would rate the food a 4 out of 5 stars for my most recent experience, use to be 5 out of 5 but maybe it will come back to 5 stars. The vibe is good for a date, group event, or happy hour by the bar when you walk in. Have to order the Carbonara 24 hours in advance as they took off menu. Will be back.

Had drinks and happy hour in the bar. Really decent deals. The burger was ground up steak, so it was really flavorful and juicy. Fries were decent, too. Happy hour drinks aren't overly generous pours, but it's a classy place so they aren't trying to get you hammered. Definitely on my list of quality happy hours.

Best steakhouse in town. The peppercorn strip is to die for. Wife had the 40 day dry aged bone in strip and that was terrific. Good cocktails. Our server Dennis was very attentive and helpful. Definitely coming back for more :-)

A throwback in time. Murray's has been in Minneapolis since 1946. I had a delicious dinner at the bar. I really enjoyed this place. My bartender Slyvia made an awesome Manhattan. It is called Marie Murray's Manhattan made with Makers 46 bourbon, Carpano Antica and Port Wine. As for the food I enjoyed small plates: a classic ceasar side, Murray's French Onion Soup and a Tenderloin Medallion Slider with Bearnaise Sauce. Really, really good!
