A mixed bag. Service was slow. Food was yummy, depending on what you got. Beer variety is good but pricey and features alot of craft on draft. My kids didn't really like the place at all but my wife and I had a good time.

We did not enjoy our experience here. Medium burger was tough to the point I thought they accidentally brought me the "Brat Burger". Sadly, it took 15 minutes to ask because the waitress walked past us and ignored us in a nearly empty restaurant for majority of our time there. The food is more expensive than similar food in the area, and we left with a bad taste in our mouths.

Good food and good drink specials. Make sure to try the fries. They are unlike any fry I've ever had. Great place to split a few apps and have a couple drinks. Went on a weekday night and had no trouble getting in. Not great parking but a short little walk once you find a place to park.

We were super excited to try Muddy Waters since we’ve heard such great things and it has such great reviews. However, our server was less than friendly, and the food was just okay. There are so many awesome alternatives in this area, I don’t think we’ll be back any time soon. Mediocre beer list, below average food for the price (we had the yucca fries, fish tacos, and meatloaf sandwich). The fish tacos didn’t have much flavor, the sauce for the fries was sour and off-putting, and the meatloaf was very hard and dry. Bummer :/

When I asked for the menu to eat without drinking alcohol, they told me that they would not be offended if I left. That is, they were not going to be offended ... Of course, as the Latino is me, I can not be offended.

This has turned into my regular watering hole. They have great vegetarian and vegan options, and lots of food for meat lovers too. They have a rotating beer menu which always has great options and wine too. The service is great, the ambiance is chill and overall has a great vibe. The wild rice burger is amazing and the yuca fries are solid. I also recommend the mock duck Korean BBQ tacos. Even my non-veggie friends enjoy these.

Arrive early! Muddy Waters is less than a block from Lake & Lyndale, so street parking is usually hard to come by. But I arrived before 10 AM for the weekend brunch, and Lyndale still had some spaces available. Inside the cafe, there were also some spaces available, and there wasn't much noise. Over the course of my breakfast, the cafe got busier and noisier. I came for the Vegetarian Breakfast Poutine, and I was amazed when it arrived: the size of a small casserole, you get your money's worth of french fries, cheese curds, mushroom gravy, vegi breakfast sausage chunks, with a fried egg on top. Yes, it tastes great; HEAVY with all the fried potato, but great. Box up what you can't finish and you'll have enough for 2 more meals. Of course I recommend pairing your brunch with their marvelously flavorful espresso drinks. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was brisk.

This is a great low key bar and grill serving a great drink menu and the Food was fantastic, best fries in town. Burgers were cooked perfectly even with various guests having slightly different modifications. Make sure you make a reservation as there are limited tables which fill up quick.

Came here for a post-bachelorette party hungover brunch and this place quite literally saved me. The waffle was incredible, so light and fluffy. The bacon was perfectly greasy and crispy, just what my stomach needed. The CBD mimosa was life-changing. It was as if it pushed away the fog of my hangover and opened my eyes to a more positive and happy world for a short time (until the hangover won and a nap was needed). Will absolutely come back again.

Great place to grab a quick bite! Nothing fancy but it was clean and bright, the staff was friendly and sweet, and the food was good. I had the chickpea sandwich (I'm vegan) and it did the trick. I wouldn't plan a future trip around going here or anything but if you just need a sandwich, this is a good place to get one. They were also able to accommodate my brother's gluten free needs.

Went last night for a double date, as on monday, they offer a pizza and a bottle of wine for $25. The food was great! The service was AWFUL. When we walked in the place was pretty full, and when we left, we were literally the last people in the restaurant. It should not take 2 and a half hours to get a pizza. When I asked for a refill on my water after 45 minutes, the waitress said she would "when I have the time" aka 25 minutes later. Also brought us the wrong wine and gave us attitude when we told her we didnt order it. Food, as always, was great, but that was no joke the worst service I have had in a LONG time.

muddy’s has amazing food—can provide for almost any dietary restriction with something on the menu. their kitchen is open late, and orders come up pretty fast. it gets really busy, though, all-season! amazing atmosphere, cute little hideaway patio section, energetic and talented staff. sometimes i’ll just swing by for the espresso machine in the mornings.

Great laid back hangout and date spot in uptown. Always very outstanding and unique beer selection with also an excellent wine list and very good cocktails. Food quality is also very excellent but the menu isn't huge and it does get a bit pricey for a casual spot. Staff are generally super helpful. It stays pretty mellow inside even on busier nights so it makes for a perfect place to actually be able to have a conversation whether with friends or a date. Not a very exciting or cheap place to be but a nice spot to hang out. I don't make use of the coffee shop/bakery area nearly as much as the bar and restaurant but my experience with their baked goods has been very good.

Brunched today with some out of town friends. Everyone loved the food and drinks. We sat in a little room in the back which was great for dining with small kids. Damien was a top notch server, he remembered our names and helped celebrate our anniversary. Give that guy a raise!

A little pricey for lunch, but the food wasn't bad. A little surprised when the waiter brought me a second refill of iced tea and told me they would start charging again for each additional refill. I haven't ever been in a restaurant that took that approach for iced tea. We won't go back. There are lots of places that serve "ok" food and don't nickle and dime you on the iced tea.

Muddy’s is awesome. Maybe it’s a bit do nostalgia, but that matters too! I’ve met up with all sorts of friends and family here ...for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A spot where you can hear each other’s conversations. A place to catch an afternoon soccer match when I’m on vacation. A spot to stop in for a latte in the morning. Always a great spot, especially in the outside alleyway seating, to share a drink and food while visiting. Good service is consistent and a memorable location that keeps me coming back.

Muddy waters used to be a coffee shop down nearer franklin and lyndale, but these days is a straight up happening chill place to get everything from coffee and a pastry, to a full meal and a mixed drink or beer... Or wine... The staff is casual and welcoming, friendly and fun! I like coming here to sit on the patio, or at the coffee bar to write, and sometimes socialize with the locals. Ive never eaten here, but the coffee is bar none, and the baristas are awesome.

Solid brunch or dinner option, I've been many times for both and love every menu item I've tried. I also like the atmosphere and sitting in their tall booths or alley/patio gives a lot of privacy of you're on a date or small group. Now for the important part: MOCK DUCK TACOS! Food was good, atmosphere was decent. Server couldn’t accept that I am basic when it comes to beer drinking. My friends were enjoying the micro brews, but I just want a safe, comfortable beer. I was told he didn’t want to serve me a Guinness. I wanted a Guinness. Not a similar version, not the local version, not anything other than what I ordered (which is on the menu!). Took me a 5 minute initial conversion to get a beer, and a minute every other time to get a beer because he wanted to remind me how great the other flavors are. Please let me just be basic!

Good happy hour specials, although service can be a bit slow on the patio. Husky dog is tasty, though the horseradish crema is a bit sloppy and overwhelming; $3 pulled pork sliders are an excellent deal although the dijon mustard overwhelms the crisp coleslaw topping. Actually, now that I think about it 'overwhelming sauces' was kind of a theme.

The food was delicious, but the sizes varied greatly from entree to entree. The burger for example requires that you order an additional side while the salmon and pizza you could share between two moderate to small appetites. This place isn't very big so if you are planning on stopping by I'd recommend getting on their wait-list ahead of time (open table and google's way of kinda letting you make a reservation). Highly recommend overall!

I would have loved to try this place and but after having seated ourselves as directed by the sign up front. Two employees made eye contact as we sat down. Too long passed with nobody even stopping by the table, so we left. It was not packed, only a handful of tables with customers and less than half the seats at the bar were occupied.

Excellent services with good wait staff, this is a pleasant place to hang out and have a drink (non-alcoholic included). The parking situation at this location is rather difficult, with primarily curbside parking as the most convenient option. A number of wobbly stools is kind of irritating but the characterful, rustic atmosphere inside the establishment makes up for it.

I love this spot for drinks and snacks. They have a great tap menu and there are normally a few beers on special for $5 or less. The happy hour menu is awesome-but it ends at 5pm which is a bit earlier than most spots with Happy Hour. I'd recommend going there late night because they are open late and have the same Happy hour deals! Fries are some of the best in the city. I've had dinner here a couple of times, but I felt like the food was a little pricey for the items.

I visited for the first time and loved it so much that I brought my entire family! They have tons of vegetarian and vegan options, which are delicious even for meat eaters! The sides are perfect to share between two people. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you receive! Stopped here early afternoon on a Sunday, so got to enjoy their brunch menu & choose from the Bloody Mary options - we had the basil bloody & the spicy bloody, both were amazing! The ham & rice bowl was good but a bit too sweet - the brat burger, yuca fries, & burrito were all fantastic! This is one of my favorite places to go for brunch. The poutine is fabulous- my only complaint that you can't get the vegan sausage on weekdays. Their crepes are fantastic too, and I've tried every flavor. The lunch and dinner options are also good. I've eaten here plenty and I don't think I have ever been diaappointed. The portions are big and the food is always delicious. I think the prices are decent too. And their beer selections are good. It has, maybe to my luck or timing, also never been too crowded or noisy. I love this place.

Came here on a night that the Lyndale Tap House had a long wait. The food was good, the drinks were good, and the service was friendly. We were seated by the door which doesn't have a insulated-door system so it was pretty drafty and cold (mind you, it was December).

Awesome food!!! So delicious I ate waaaay more than I should have. My teen son was able to be full and still bring home half his poutine! THAT is an accomplishment! Teen boy, full...no way!! Huge servings! Super yummy foods, and friendly service.

Unfortunately, we had a very rude and uncaring server. We only got to the point of ordering our appetizer of yucca fries, which were quite good with the chimichurri. The appetizer took over 25 minutes when they weren't even busy. We had decided to leave right before they finally arrived. The manager did comp the fries for taking so long, but our decision was already made to move on.
