Exceptional. We started out for Glam Doll Donuts, saw a Mexican bakery (Marissa's) down the street and got distracted. By the time we bought our Mexican pastries, it was lunchtime and Marhaba was across the intersection. Understand one thing about Marhaba and you will fare much better there: don't expect much from their "American" food (looking at you, fried chicken wings). Everything else is very, very good. They do a Mediterranean buffet better than The Marina a few miles north. I didn't think that was possible and here I sit full an so very much corrected. Things I needed seconds of (some of which I had, some of which I was too full to do again): baklava, catfish, lamb Kafka, tabouleh, gyro meat, meat samosa. $42 for 2 adults and 2 preschoolers on some mysterious pay per year of the child's age system. So probably somewhere around $15/person with a soda. If the quality of the Mediterranean food wasn't so high, I would have dropped a star for the price. In this case , however, I have nothing to complain about: I feel I received an excellent value food:cost. I would repeat here on a date night without kids as the food is lost on their mac n cheese and chicken fingers minds.

The food was really good but inconsistent. The first time we went we got the chef special plate and the portions were generous and cooked well. The second time we got the same thing but this time the chicken was burnt, the portion was pretty skimpy, and it was missing one of the meats from the trio. I would go back but I haven't pinned down when to go to ensure good food and service.

I don't understand how this place has any decent reviews. My husband and I ate their last year and it was, without a doubt, the grossest restaurant I've ever been in. Food: the hummus was runny and warm-clearly not being refrigerated per food safety regulations. It ruined the whole veggie plate. The beef in the gyro was cold and dry and tasted like it sat out on the buffet table for hours. The only thing that was decent was the yogurt sauce. Atmosphere: this place was absolutely filthy. The server was nice and prompt with refills and the check, but that doesn't even come close to making up for what we saw. There were literally dozens of flies just buzzing around our heads and food, crawling on the walls and table. The bathroom was even worse. The baseboards had that gross grimy dirty mop water ring, the fixtures and dispensers were in disrepair. It reeked of urine, as did the surrounding area, and the floor was sticky and wet with what I can only assume was urine. I almost left before our food came. I sincerely hope they have had a change in management and turn things around.

This restaurant had tasty food. The buffet was huge and they kept refilling it. I really enjoyed the food it can get a little noisy and crowded in there but that could have been because I went during the month of Ramadan when lots of people wanted to break their fast. I would definitely go back again.

Best middle eastern buffet in Minneapolis. Owner is welcoming and staff polite. All the taxi drivers eat there, parking is limited. Extremely busy during holidays and Fridays. Fresh tebuli salad available among all other items including fish and shrimp. I like their okra stew and well seasoned rice. I didn’t feel odd being the only white woman there. Took one star off bc it is hard to keep floors clean with so many visitors including small kids.

I thought this place was great. Loaded buffet with delicious, flavorful Mediterranean food. I don't know yet what the buffet cost but I was so impressed with it, I had to sing its praises immediately. Lots of choices for vegetarians and meats for carnivores. So good! Some of the best I've had! The buffet was $16. Totally worth it! Come hungry!

This place has a great variety of Egyptian and Middle Eastern dishes, laid out buffet style. One price gets you all you can eat and as many plates as you can manage. The selection of desserts and breads is very good and there are three long hot tables filled with food. It must be authentic, the local Middle Eastern population eats there. The place is almost always at full capacity during dinner hours. Parking is limited to a small lot in front, you'll probably have better luck finding a place on the street.

The buffet me and the wife had was $15 per person, as a side note we could have eaten for far less of we ordered off the menu, buffet is only encouraged if you are really hungry, this time around they had very few dessert options. Buffet is also a great option if they are serving steak, guess what I am trying to say is do the buffet if you are super hungry and they have good dishes. The food is bland which is good that is caters to a wider audience, I just wish they used less oil in their food, I mean you can steam shrimps you don't need to fry them.

Love love love the food. What an incredible price for all you can eat food. Lamb shank was just perfect. Fish was fall off the bone. Spices were just incredible. Place is not super pretty and ambiance is nonexistent but go for the incredible dishes. I am still giving it a 5 star and coming back every time I am in the cities.

Visited here last time in October 2017 and the staff was friendly. It was my boyfriends first time being in a Mediterranean restaurant and he felt uncomfortable because he thought the customers and staff were judging him because he was the only white guy there. I love how they have a lot of vegetarian options for my boyfriend and how all the items there are fresher than any other buffet. Everything is still crispy when eaten but sadly the time we were there, there was only one falafel left and never brought out anymore the time I was there. Highly recommend

I have known the proprietor, Mohammed, since he was the head chef at Big Marina on 49th and Central Northeast. He's a good kind and generous father, excellent chef, and you people Uptown are extremely lucky to have this place here end capping eat Street. This place is known for its Mediterranean fare, hummus, baba ganoush, tabouli, Gyros, sambusas, grilled chicken, roast chicken, Kafka, pot roast, BBQ rib tips, arguably some of the best mashed potatoes, three kinds of seasoned rice, countless other dishes. You need to bring an appetite, and expect to overeat if you plan on going with the all-you-can-eat buffet option. A more practical and dietary way, is to make your selections ala carte to go, even if you just sit down and eat. That way you take a measured amount, it controls the overeating, and it's more frugal. Mohammed doesn't mind either way, DIY card method means you're less likely to waste food, and as a Muslim, wasting food is considered a sign of disrespect for the gift of the meal, from Allah. I usually get a decent size lunch, for less than $10, ala carte. But enough with words let your eyes be the judge.

I went there for dinner twice back to back. The first night was crowded so I wanted give them a second try and see if the service gets better, but seriously this place lacks service big time. No greeting and they brought my drink after I was halfway done eating. Place is not very clean either. On my second night most of the buffet items were gone, they wouldn’t refill it and yet charged me full buffet price. Only giving them two stars cause the kitchen does a much better job than the front.

I had driven by this place many times as it’s near my house — the reviews were good, and sometimes a buffet sounds good when you want a variety, or just want to eat your feelings. Check it, the food was a lot better than I expected. One of the better, I’d jot the best all-day buffet in Minneapolis. Several kinds of rice, tender lamb, quality tabouleh, chicken, vegetarian.. seriously, I was impressed. ALSO when I went outside I found my battery in my car had died and I needed a jumpstart. I went inside and asked and without hesitation the man behind the register(the owner maybe?) hopped up and helped me. Really, the whole experience stands out to me and will definitely be going back!!

4/5 food & service, but -100/5 for their clientele. If you're an American and want to eat here, be prepared for mean, prolonged stares by their Somali clientele (Which is the vast, overwhelming majority of this restaurants customers). Me and my family have been here 5-7 times, and EVERY single time something discriminatory occurs (No over-exaggeration). My mother informed me of one incident where this Somali family was being seated next to us, and the oldest male looked at her, and conjured a face of annoyance and said "I don't WANT to see HERE" to his waiter. Wish I was at my table when it occurred, we'd have had a nice talk. I find this utterly contradictory considering if they were to dine at a traditional American restaurant where the customers were predominantly American, and we treated them that way, they would be B'ing and moaning about discrimination and unfair treatment. For this reason, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The food is pretty good, even great some days depending on the chef. Some days it's bland, some days it's amazing. Their employees have always been very nice, too. But due to their clientele/environment I can't recommend it. At least to any Americans. P.S. I've had zero issues with any of the other non-Somali's at this restaurant, and before anyone labels me an Islamophobe, I am a Muslim ("Revert").
