I use to love this place but in the recent 2 yrs this place has gone down hill. Many many occasions I wait for over 30 mins for any crab legs. Sushi was good before but now tastes nasty. The last 2 times I was there I was there for over 1 hr each time and no crab legs. These are during crab legs night. Never going back there again. The staff and management are rude and unprofessional

If I could give it no stars I would! Went in around 3:15..the dinner starts at 3:30. They never asked if I was doing lunch or dinner. I had one plate and awaiting the seafood to come out. The dinner items are clearly marked saying if you choose this item you will be charged dinner price. I got some crab legs and the server was at my table right away telling me that's not part of lunch. It's clearly marked..I told her I can read. As I finished I never received a check to I walked up front to pay for my dinner. I was followed by 3 people working there to make sure I paid the dinner price. I paid and told the guy up front again.. I can read..I was not happy..crab legs tasted like dirt.. shrimp was frozen. Definitely not worth the money. This is the second time this incident has happened to me there.. Shame on me for giving it another try. People there are rude.. I will never be returning. I should not have to feel like a criminal when I go out to eat!!

Mandarin Buffet is a better than average buffet serving Chinese and other Asian fare. But, I found out recently that they are a very superior take out restaurant. The food is not cheap, but the portions are large and everything is so flavorful. If you like the buffet, that's fine. It is definitely worth trying. But, if you really want to see what they can do, order food to go.

Not the best food. The staff were very rude and tried to force me to pay adult prices for my children being heavyweight. Even after I told him their birthdays he went to my kids after I left the table and told them they were a different age then what they were. I pulled out something with their birthdays just to prove it. I wouldn't go back. Their food wasn't that great to get poor service like that. I'm giving them two stars because my kids still made the best of that visit

I thought the service was very good, my server was right there with refills. I was told to stay as long as i wanted and relax after I payed. The food is good, not knock your socks off, but still good. I have eaten there 10 of so times, and I have not gotten sick. :) I trust the food to be good, and it is. Price is fair, and Bev./desert is included in price. A family of Three, 2 adults and a child, eat for about $35 plus tip. All you can eat. The English skills are not perfect, but easy to understand.

Look. It's a Chinese buffet. It's exactly what you think it's gonna be. But this one does have a pretty nice sushi bar, the wait staff is really on top of beverages, and it's clean. You're not gonna be blown away by the food, but it's still yummy and there's lots of it.

This used to be one of my favorite places to go would come here at least two times a week I have been very disappointed the last couple of times we have been here we came again tonight and the all you can eat crab legs you only get five put out at a time and then you got a wait another 15 or 20 minutes To get any more several people are waiting for crab legs at a time with only five or six legs served at a time management is disrespectful the whole time we were here he was standing over her eyes staring at us every time we brought a plate back makes us not even want to come again bad experience

There were more wait staff than patrons, and not a single drink refill? Come on. Sushi was bad and the cashier didn't even say hello when I went up to pay the bill!

Didnt even get pop and still was crazy expensive food that you are better off finding in a dumpster behind the break room of a sewer treatment plant. This place is pathetic and dreadfully nasty. Been coming to this location for years, but have noticed a change in food and service since the older gentleman retired. Since the restaurant opens at 11:00, all cleaning should be completed before the doors are opened. We’ve come in on numerous occasions to find they’re just starting the floor & booth cleaning process. Not a good thing to come in expecting to smell great food and instead smell strong cleaning solution. Food also off from previous experiences - as an example, the General Tso Chicken is consistently so over cooked, it’s hard on the outside. Our plates were taken from us without asking us. We’re going to step away for a few months, and then give them another try. These are good people, but they can do better from a customer, food and service perspective. Hope you guys can find your groove.

Never ever am I'm going back to this roach infested buffet. Yesterday 8/24/19 took my 3 little ones in for lunch after a football game. Took them 5 min to seat us while it was not busy at all. Got seated and drinks ordered, took my 2 little ones to wash up before eating, got our plate of food. Sat down to eat in which my 2 other kid already started eat. My oldest said there is a bug there by the sugar packs, so I looked and guess what?? It was a cockaroch, I called the waitress over to let her know about it. Totally disgusted and lost of appetite, told my kids we are done here. Got up and walked straight out the door, never looking back or planning any future stops here for good. Stay away from places like this. I wish there was and .5 star instead of 1 star.

Started with Sushi. There is a decent selection of sushi and rolls at the buffet line. Not a fan of the huge size of the rolls and the amount of rice on the sushi. However the fish on top of the rice was equally big. Simply too big to eat, so I took off half the rice. You can order sushi from the menu with the buffet too. I tried the salmon roll and Alaska roll. Salmon was ok/good and the Alaska roll was just ok. The avocado on that roll was hard, not ripe, so I took most of it out. Again the roll was way too large, so I also took most the cucumber out. At this point I was ok with the quality because it’s only $13.75 for dinner. However, I think food should be better no mater the cost. Or they shouldn’t sell it. Very important. They added fresh food to the old food on the buffet line. That is a huge no No. most good buffets I’ve been to walk away with the old stuff. Food won’t be fresh otherwise and there can be cross contamination or food that sits out too long. Also, the tongs for grabbing sushi look like they have been sitting out too long and full of sauces in them. The soy sauce jar was also very dirty from people grabbing. This place needs to get better at cleaning things regularly. I tried food from the buffet next. Fried shrimp and imitation crab was not very good and room temperature. Steak was dry and tasteless. Fried cream cheese wontons were really good. Two of the desserts/snacks were good and very different. Tried a couple different meat dishes. One was ok and the other didn’t agree with my pallet. Again, all the food was room temperature except the wontons. Very disappointing for 6:45-7:15pm. In my opinion they should make half the amount of food and bring it out as needed. Way too much food for the amount of people eating during dinner time. Also, I asked the server a question about one of the sushi rolls and she couldn’t understand a thing I was saying. I love other cultures and their food, but a server needs to be able to speak basic English if they want to work in the U.S. It I worked in another country I would learn their language. 30% of the fruit at the salad/fruit bar was not ripe at all. Especially the white looking pineapple. Never seen pineapple that unripe. The fruits and desserts I took were good. Tapioca, chocolate and rice puddings were really good. FYI. I only ate a banana for breakfast as drank a lot of water all day. So I was very hungry when I came. I took very small amounts of each food so I could try many things. Spent about 1.5 hours having a relaxing dinner and writing this review. Egg drop soup was good. Egg roll was ok and warm. Dumpling was hot and good. Chicken on stick was juicy and good but not hot. Sugar doughnut dessert was very good but not hot or warm. Overall, half the food I tried was either good or ok. Nothing was great or super tasty. A lot of the food didn’t look fresh so I didn’t even try it. The other half of the food I tried was not worth eating it again. I definitely ate $13.75 worth of food , but I am not sure if I would come back here. I would rather pay $25 for AYCE sushi at Kyoto where they bring you fresh food to the table. If you try this place, order the sushi fresh, and try the hibachi food because they cook it for you fresh. Most the dessert and fruit were good. Some of the other food was good. Just be careful to pick things you just saw that bring out.

If I could I would rate this place a ZERO. We came during dinner time around 5-5:30pm $13.75 + $1.55 for sodas. The food was hard and dry. Every dish I picked was warm (on the edge of cold from Shrimp, chicken wings to ribs) I honestly couldnt stand the food, so I had them cooked my food fresh from the Mongolian bar. Nasty, dont waste your money. I didnt even stay long. The most disappointing part was that they didnt even have nice selection of sushi bar like pictured.

Dinner buffet costs more because of the crab legs offered on the buffet. Only problem is they don't bring enough crab legs out, and not often either. Very stingy on their crab legs. My son, husband, any I were recently there and ZERO crab legs on the buffet. They FINALLY brought a few out but by the time my husband got up there to get some they were all gone. We complained and asked for a discount on our bill. THEY TOLD MY HUSBAND THAT HE NEEDED TO BE QUICKER!! LOL!!! Are you serious??!!?? He told them that is ridiculous. They threatened to call the police on him!!! They finally offered him 10% off his buffet price only. We will never go back there.

The buffet part was not the best ( crab legs okay but very small ) sushi was very good and I liked how they had a raw station where you make your own stir fry and they cook it for you. Only down side was they did not clean the person before me food from the stove top they were cooking on and all of the spicy peppers from their stir fry ended up making my food very spicy from being cooked right afterwards.

Pretty friendly staff, standard food quality. We got there at 5 after, food had not been changed but somehow that warranted a 10 dollar increase on the bill since it was technically dinner. Also it's extra if you want seafood with lunch, but is only noted on a tiny sign on the end of 1 aisle, which I think is kind of a shiesty practice for elevating cost.

Good food at a decent price. It's very American Chinese fare, most everything is fried. But it's kid friendly and the staff is good. They do have decent selection of sushi which ranges in quality from very good to poor depending on how long it's been out. Don't go here for the crab legs as they're usually very overcooked. The Mongolian grill is very limited in selection, but what they do have is very good.

It's a Chinese buffet; fairly indistinguishable from any other Chinese buffet. I'm pretty sure that most get their food from the same distributor. Even their website is indistinguishable from other Chinese buffets. If you are in the area and you are hungry for a Chinese buffet, here's one.

If I could give this place -10 I would the food was the worst I have ever had it was cold and super grease filled then I had something that was supposed to sesame chicken but was slimy and nasty tasting almost threw up after tasting this saw them dump old cold food on top of the fresh hot food which was totally nasty nothing was hot and when I brought it to there attention the owner did nothing and didn't care at all when I told him about the food. Will NEVER be going back and would tell people don't go there you will regret it way over priced and it's not worth it at all!

My husband and I normally come here for the buffet about once a month. We like it so much so yesterday we decided to order takeout as we have never done this. It was absolutely wonderful!! The portions are huge it was hot and fresh and delicious!! We have lived in the area for about the last nine years and have been in search for a good Chinese takeout but nothing so far has been that great...As a matter of fact some places have been downright awful. The only reason we never tried takeout at Mandarin was because it’s a little further than we would like to drive. From now on this will be our go-to for Chinese take out. SO worth it!!! Good job Manderin Buffet!!!

I went to Mandarin buffet today expecting to get the same service as I used to a couple of years ago. I don't know if the management changed or what but the restaurant does look remodeled. I walked in around 3:30ish on Sun. It was not very busy but a group of servers were gathered around a table ignoring me. I stood there for a couple of minutes before one came to help me. I came for the crab legs which are not part of the buffet anymore. It's now $9.99 a lb for carry out or $3.99 a lb with the buffet. I was told I would have to request them from my server. As I waited for him to bring me my 2 lbs of crab legs I had some sushi. I tried everyone of them and they were horrible tasting. The raw fish smelled like cleaning solution. I almost threw up. Then my server comes out with my scrawny looking two plates of soggy, watery, no flavored mushy crab legs and a cup of butter that tasted like popcorn butter. It was horrible. I couldn't even finish eating the first pound and asked if I could return the second pound. My waiter went to the back and came back and said no. I took a few more disgusting bites because I didn't want to waste my money but I couldn't stand the taste any longer and said I'm ready to go. The server looked confused and asked if I wanted my crab legs boxed up. I said sure if you can but really didn't care. I walked to the counter to pay without waiting for him to box them because I told him I'm not going to eat them anyway. The manager came out and told the cashier to take the one pound off. I will never go back there again. I used to go there all the time for lunch and dinner but the food does not taste the same. I will not even recommend anyone to go there.

It was my sons 12th birthday today, and. For his birthday dinner he choose to go here.. When the waitress asked his age I said he is 12 as of today and she said his birthday and I replied yes.. We ate our food and it was great towards the end of dining experience they brought him out a strawberry shortcake and had a candle in it, and they sang happy birthday to him. Needless to say, we didn't expect them to go out of their way, but they did just for his special day... 5 stars for making my sons day :) Thank you to all the staff, you are awesome.

Then when I went to pay I looked at my account and they took an extra $5 off my account. Went back in and they tell me they never did it. I even showed them where it was taken out of my account. I only gave this place a one star because I had to put something. The food is your typical Chinese food buffet-nothing extra ordinary or special. I went there for the sole purpose of crab legs and it was disappointing! They only brought it out once every hour and half and when they did, it was literally just two plate fulls, meaning-if you weren’t the first two people up there, you don’t get any!! They sit there and stare at you like you’re doing something wrong, it’s very awkward. If you want the typical Chinese food buffet, it’s for you but if you want crab legs and/or sushi, this is NOT it!!! I’d never go back-I’m generally not one to write a review but this place was just a joke I had to make it known! One and done!!!!

Everyone's giving it poor reviews expecting a fine dining experience to the par of Gordon Ramsay. It is a Chinese food buffet, but it is a wonderful one at that. Every time I have gone here it is always been a pleasant experience with wonderful staff, and delicious food. This may depend on what kind of person you are, but it brings me back to my childhood of the yummy buffet, because it is practically the exact same restaurant. I love it and I have a feeling that you will too.

My mouth waters just thinking about the food. One of the best, if not the best Chinese restaurant in the state of Minnesota. I have been to countless Chinese buffets in this state but nothing compares to this one. The food freshest at lunch time and start of dinner. The owner is a wonderful guy. He is very friendly and nice. I can not however say the same about the wait staff that's a hit or miss, but then food is so good I don't care much about that. The place is very clean as well. Trust me if you have not been there you need to go!!

Used to really love this place, but they don't have any food for kids any more like the pizza or Mac and cheese. They don't have the ice cream machine, that has been replaced by cups of ice cream and they kind of taste funny. Bummer because I really liked to put the soft serve on the doughnuts. Also since I haven't been in a while they automatically add a 10% tip.my understanding of a gratuity was to show that I was grateful for my food and service. I enjoy tipping, however I tend to avoid places that presume the food and service warranted that amount. Since the food wasnt very good, and some of these sea food was chewy or so over cooked stuck in the shell. On top of having to get up and find someone for a refill on the drinks at the table. For me the service and food didn't warrent a 10% gratuity but thats my opinion. I didn't read any reviews before I went lesson learned. So long mandrin buffet thanks for the memories.

The crawfish were dark grey inside and the waiter never refilled our drinks. We waited almost the whole dinner to get crab legs, which were gross. The fruit was old, so was the sushi. Definitely not going back

We were greeted immediately with very well mannered servers and prompt service of drinks and taking our dishes away. The food was delicious and plentiful. It was clean and the buffet was well stocked. There was no mandatory tip but we tipped anyways with the great service and food anyways.

Pretty subpar. Food is too sweet and too oily. No flavor from most of the buffet items. I did not try the grill, so maybe it is the redeeming quality. Restaurant area is clean though and servers friendly. At just under $17 for dinner per person I would recommend taking your hard earned money elsewhere.

None of the staff spoke much, I didn't like the chicken here I didn't honestly eat much here. Very clean though, all the food was refilled fast. Never really busy.

This is a okay restaurant. It a large buffet but there were 5 or less veggie options. I would recommend this place one if someone what’s to eat lots of meat.

Only thing this place has going for it is the very polite staff. Food was horrible, even at the standards of smaller Asian buffets. That coupled with the prices (2 Adults and an 11yo child about $50), we will never return. And we will make sure friends find a better alternative.
