REVIEWS OF La Doña Cervecería IN Minnesota

La Dona offers an exciting array of new experiences and beer not found at other MPLS breweries. From soccer to salsa dancing, indoor and outdoor seating, a colorful and vibrant vibe filled with local art... It's a fun and unique place to stop. On top of that, they have a wide variety of delicious beers and typically have a food available. This has easily become one of our favorite places to stop in for a beer.

Jeff Perry

Tried their El Rey (IPA) and quickly ordered a second. Want to get back soon!

Lauren Carter

La Doña Cervecería is an amazing place to grab a cold, expertly crafted brew in Minneapolis. The owners/brewers are extremely knowledgable about their product and the space is awesome!

John Honsa

Good food and beers. If your biking to a Twins Game on the Cedar Lake Trail it is just over the Van White Bridge

Scott Uglow

This beer is truly one of a kind, that diablo IPA was straight fire! Awesome beer, even better staff, and the owner is a great guy to talk about pretty much anything. Hot tip, bring a date to salsa night every saturday; it takes two to tango

Dario C

Great Mexican-themed locale with great food, events, a stage, and drinks. I'd recommend the Michelada (Bloody Mary type drink) while downing a taco or burrito.

Issam Ait Benhaddou

I am currently here and I tell you the bartender is racist and should find another job. The worst customer service ever.

James Tyler

So I have been here many times. And I always noticed the female bar managers bad attitude. And recently I hosted a party here and I thought maybe the manager would cheer up.. but nope shes a real bitter person with no personality or people skills. She made us wait nearly an hour to take the rental fee. Shes didn't want to give me a receipt for the rental fee and she didn't even thank me. And the day of the party she completely forgot about our party and she got a very bad attitude with my cousin. Why wouldn't she be happy with having a full bar? I have been here many times and my party filled the bar up for the first time since this place opened up. And you would think the manager would come over to offer any assistance but she was no help at all.

Brandon Jay Rockensock Sutton

Cool aesthetic. Energetic vibe. The lager I had tasted like a Mexican lager. Hops but not hiding behind hops.

Josh Eckhoff

Great space, 3v3 soccer is a lot of fun to watch. Plus there is a distillery next door.

jorgea MENA

This brewery is my wife and I 89th brewery we have been to. The beers are really great especially the lager. We were amazed with the art and the ofrenda they had. I like the soccer field. The female server needs more attention to detail and better service skills. Other than that we are excited to return here soon.

Chill marketplace with various small shop merchants. Bathroom is amazing.

D Cadreau

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and good beer!

Ashton Yahonde

You gotta come here. Billie is the best in the world. She let us try all their beer and I pretty much liked all of them! #WakandaForever Ps, Billie is the black girl!

Joshua Johnson

We had our fantasy football draft at La Dona this year. They were very accommodating for my friends and I. I strongly recommended La Dona for any gathering . The soccer field outside is super unique and lots of fun!

Kyle

Great beer, amazing atmosphere! No other brewery like it.

Graham Zrostlik

I still haven’t tried their beer but their terrible web operation makes me think these people don’t know how to run a business and maybe I shouldn’t bother This place first had a “coming soon” on the front of the web page for weeks after they opened, no twitter announcement only Facebook, and then just now closed at 9 for New Years Eve with no mention of holiday hours on their website, and an edit to the Google page that said open until 11. I checked before I came.

John Miller

Good beers, small selection but the ones I had we're good.!

Emiliano Urbina

Great beer, friendly staff, and great music on Saturday nights.

Josh de Gruchy

Great beer, community oriented, open space, and clean! Love the art on the walls. Will be coming back!

Mike Oberfeld

Great spot. Good beer, lots of flavor. We will be back!

This new taproom in North Minneapolis is about to become the next big thing. Even though they only have 3 beers on tap when they open, the IPA and the Pale Ale are delightful and enjoyable. The atmosphere is quiet but that is bound to change as people find out that they are open now. Off their patio they had a soccer arena and you can kick a ball around or join their new 3x3 leagues. Watching the leagues play is bound to be entertainment as well that is not found elsewhere at a taproom in Minneapolis. Although I have not experienced it myself I have been told that Saturday evenings have Latin Dance lessons followed by music and more dancing late into the evening. During the weekend days they had food trucks as well, so there should be plenty to do and experience at this taproom in the future.

Nick Cross

The beers we had were excellent and the staff were friendly. It was a Tuesday night so it was relatively quiet but they have some great looking events coming up. We'll ne back for sure.

Casey Kluver

Stopped in Saturday’s night and was excited as I have lived in NOMI for 10 years. However, had a disappointing experience. Came in and was not serviced for 20 minutes, not even acknowledged. The bartender was pouring growlers and there was what looked like another bartender/busboy. The busboy said he was not allowed to serve us - and did not serve us but served other people ) please see picture). Once the woman bartender was done with the growlers she still didn’t serve us until flagged down. I ordered an IPA and she responded “don’t you want the Mexican Lager”. Perhaps I am not privy to a Mexican IPA but it tasted like a lager. Am interested to be educated more as I am used to a Surly Furious IPA and was expecting more of a hoppy IPA bite to it. I then finished the IPA and the “busboy” asked if we wanted another drink. Again, we never flagged him down as he had originally said he couldn’t serve. Really wanted to love this neighborhood place so ordered another beer and had the Bromista. For a pale ale it had a good flavor. Not sure, if we’ll be back, maybe it was since they are new but I was not impressed and with so many other places I and wish them the best and may try again later.

Joshua Lemmer

Love this place! The staff, environment, and (most importantly) the beer are great! Check it out. Glad to have them in my neighborhood. :)

Wendy Friedmeyer

A brewery in a warehouse. Good brown ale and Mexican style lager. Food trucks.

Reynaldo Robles

This place was terrible, the service, the food, the atmosphere all around a joke. They charged me 10 bucks to get in for what? To pay 8 Dollar nachos they bought at the grocery store! Also The bartender was very rude not attending to the customer's. Instead he was busy talking to a girl, 3 people were waiting for drinks as this guy continues to ignore us. The music was blaring terribly as we waited for the band to start. Overall a medicore joint.

Laura Cina

I only drink for sours or fruity beer and they didn't have one that I liked. Beautiful place, outside smells like a dumpster though. Food provided by Flagsmash was good.

Megan Stezka

We live in the neighborhood and have stopped by a handful of times. This time i was very put off. We swung in with some friends (Friday) and was informed that they were closed for a private event. The person at the door told us to come back in a half hour. We went next door for a few drinks and came back and the doors were open, but the beer tender informed us they were closed for the whole evening, even though the event ended. We simply told him what we were told (to come back) and with snark, he told us the person who told us that didn’t work there and continued to make rude responses when we expressed our dissatisfaction about the situation. We dont plan on returning. Last time we visited, there was a cover charge as well for a dance class in another room. No big deal, but it seems like a common occurrence to be inaccessible for folks to just simply grab a beer.

Olivia Luzzi

Great beer, great atmosphere, and great food! I also love how they feature local minority artisans all the time. So many great finds and really vibes with the culture of the place! Highly recommend!

Jake Gumbrill

Every time I come into town I have to stop at La Dona. The rotating craft beer is so delicious and it's one of the coolest urban venues in Minneapolis. I'm obsessed with the classic Dona Fria - Mexican Lager because it's so clean and you can never have just one. The space is huge and caters to whether I'm on a date night with the Mrs for their salsa/yoga nights or if I'm with a big group. The soccer court they have is tons of fun too. Staff is always helpful/nice and the owner is usually around. That guy is the best. Highly recommend.

Johanna Renfro

Whenever I’m in Minneapolis I come here with my husband as part of our visit. In San Diego (where we live) everything is focused on IPAs so I really appreciate that I can get a nice mix of Mexican lagers and the Big Mama Blonde (YUM). The space is so cool with local art and events. Highly recommend!

Filisha Lustfield

Love this place. Friendly staff. Fun atmosphere. Easy to spend a sunny afternoon here with so much space and outdoor activities. Love the beer and salsa nights!

Lauri Woodard

They host social justice groups here & they are amazing! Food is wonderful, music is great & everyone who works here is so fun!

Jon Wycislak

Excellent selection. Not a bad one in the group and food seems really authentic!

Tom Putskey

Very interesting large space. I stopped in because the chili IPA intrigued me. The spice really hits and the finish, but it's otherwise a solid IPA. They've got a shufflepuck table and a small futball area out front and a selection of games to play. Very open space that looks like it could accommodate many people.

Pedro Manancero

Amazing taproom with an energetic and international vibe. FlagSmash has a permanent kitchen now in La Doña dishing up international eats in a Mexican delivery system (tacos, burritos, quesadillas) usually from 5-9 on Thursday, Friday, Saturdays.

Mares Anderson-Duggan

Me encanta. I love the vibe and everything that they offer. Go here mi gente

Mish Senevisai

Went to La Doña for the first to check out their selections on their beers. The theme is very creative and with the brewery being fairly new. Great atmosphere and the bartenders were so welcoming. Will definitely be visiting again.

Esau Rodriguez

Great beer and vibes. The atmosphere was chill and it's easy to converse with your group. Good selection in drinks as well.

Petra Kranzfelder

Good beer, colorful artwork, and great people! I can’t wait to be back again.

Carlos Granados

The beer and atmosphere was good. The service was friendly but the server almost charged me for three extra beers. After correcting her, I asked her about the extra cost and she said it was taxes. I didn't get a receipt. It was not until I saw the emailed receipt that I saw she charged me a 20% tip. But I had tipped her in cash. I trusted her explanation but she abused the situation. Also, one food truck was too little for the amount of people and the food was not worth the wait.

David Lee

Super awesome place, great selection, and a great interior. Will be going again

colin drake

Good beer. Real cool place. Megusta

Jennifer M. Jones

Great selection of beers and all tasty. Friendly service.

Brenna Finley

They have a coffee beer here that I LOVE and the staff is always super friendly. Great service and a nice patio, too.

Karl Pehler

Great brewery with a good selection. The 3 vs. 3 soccer was great to watch, too. Definitely worth another visit.

Adil Najmuddin

Spacious, cool ethnic art, attentive bartenders and good drinks. ++

Owen DeWindt Jr.

I'm really really really cool spot

Andrey Ablamunets

Might be my new favorite brew spot in Minneapolis. Awesome concept of a Mexican style brewery in an odd part of town, but they definitely pull it off. The space is large and industrial, very well decorated with Mexican flare and style, and it is well set up for summer patio time. They have two bar areas and a medium sized event space that I am sure you can reserve. The beer was delicious. It was unique but it was not super out of the ordinary that you were surprised by the taste. The IPAs were top 5 in the city and I can see the Mexican Lager being a complete HIT in the summer. They have a mini-soccer field on the side of the brewery, with leagues starting in the summer. Put this brewery on your list ASAP.

Joseph Cordes

Beer was cold and delicious and staff treat you like family. Great place to catch up with friends and and make new ones. Will absolutely be going back next time I’m in town.

Andy Holmaas

La Doña Cervecería was a great place for a beer. The beer itself is slightly above average but the staff was exceptional. The room is spacious and has cool art hanging. They misjudged the food truck situation for the Women’s World Cup event they were advertising. Food wait was 50 minutes to “an hour or the best we can do.” I would assume a non event day this would be a good enough spot for a beer. Parking was accessible and brewery and bathrooms were as clean as one would expect for a tap room.

Javier Barberena

What a great atmosphere. The place brew unique testing beer. There is plenty of street parking, and parking lot next to the bar. Outdoor space in the summer time. There is also an outdoor 3-3 soccer turf field. They have salsa dancing on Saturday night; get your dancing shoes on

Amanda Soczynski

Soccer & Beer - Great Combo! I play in the 3 v 3 soccer league and it’s the most fun I’ve had playing soccer. Unique and fun experience- great beer as well. Love the atmosphere and the soccer!

James Lynch

Look, Mexican lager is always good, and theirs is totally delicious. Get some plus their art is cool and they have Takis.

Suzy B

Great atmosphere! Good IPA and lager! Tasty food

Gina Bouchie

If you're in Minneapolis visiting or live here, you have to check this place out! It's got great beer, and art; vibrantly decorated and has a 3 on 3 soccer field! It's big enough to gather to watch games on one it's many TV's or meet up for happy hour. Also, check out the Saturday night dance party!!!!

Tiffanie Hendrickson

I will certainly give this place another shot but it was EXTREMELY cold in there. I get it. Might need to figure out the heating situation. Also, service was pretty questionable. Again, new place. I will certainly be back but I do expect a bartender to take my order without acting annoyed.

Todd Mulvihill

A great newer brewery in the up and coming "West Loop". The interior design is distinctly Mexican, as is the beer selections on offer. Stout and Porter fans will not find much here. But you will find some great and unique Mexican-style beers as well as small plate food (snacks) at "La Tiendita" next to the bar. This place is big, great for large groups and usually not super busy. Bar staff are super friendly. Dogs are not allowed inside.

Matt Moertel

This place doesn't deserve to charge a cover. Everything else is great, but I want to send a message.

Ben Jackson

Informal, festive space, decent dance floor.

Alyssa Hernandez

Super cute brewery. Location is easily accessible from 394. Off street parking available. I liked the lager, not so much the blonde. The place isn’t well heated, so consider bringing a jacket during colder weather. The bar layout is a little odd, and it takes longer to order a drink than it should.

Barry Elk

Good beer. Fun atmosphere. 3v3 arena Futbol was fun to watch outside.

Jon Baker

Great beers, great service and Flagsmash was there selling tacos. Definitely worth going back!

Timothy Mattson

Amazing people and amazing beer!

Veronica Thao

I hosted a bridal shower for 70 people at La Dona. Sergio and his team were exceptional: attentive, friendly and very flexible with my group. The drink options are delicious and the space is beautiful. The ambiance is up beat with plenty of common spaces for people to relax inside in the event room, near the bar or outside. The parking lot is a plus! La Dona is a gem, and we will definitely be back!

Evik James

They've got a really nice space, great food, and good beer. The prices are fair.

Matthew Darnell

Great beer, amazing space. Highly recommend.

Mad Wegmiller

Awesome space and great service!!!

Pete O'Grady

This is a great brew pub. Treat yourself!

Sofia Capello

Super cool layout! Will definitely return to try more beer

DMC Wear Parts LLC

Great vibe, helpful staff, fun place to visit.

Robert Barrett

Staff members were very friendly and approachable. Beer was tasty and smooth. Plenty of entertainment for everyone that was with us

Surabhi Singh

Great atmosphere and lovely vibe to the place. They have very reasonably priced beer and great music playing in the background. I ordered the Dona Fria and my friends ordered the Die Nacht and the Big Mama blonde. The beers were really good. There is a little stall for tacos and other snacks and possibly a separate area for private events. An odd order to have with beer but I ordered one of those tres leches and it wasn't that good. A cool mini soccer field outside.

dayan dickson

Fun place. Great Beer.

Emily Herzig

I was visiting from NYC and a friend suggested that I check out La Doña. We wanted a place to hang out for a casual afternoon drink with friends. Great spot! I recommend the ¡Fired Up! -- I've never had a chili pepper IPA. Super tasty! And unique - I'm always looking for a craft brew and brewery that stands out. La Doña fit the bill.

Ryan Flanders

Closing times vary depending on crowd size, so you may want to call ahead. Pretty good beer here, and a nice little patio area. Also a tiny sports field for four people to play soccer or volleyball, enclosed by netting.

Carson Five

Great beer, fun atmosphere and good food too. I had the double ipa and a burrito, and recommend both.

Corina Cortes

Good beer, colorful decor, and Salsa/Bachata night was a lot of fun. Can't wait to go for Beer Yoga, I 100% recommend visiting !

Chris Carson

Amazing beer! Excellent selection with varied styles. The 10oz. Tulip is the perfect size to sample. I'd prefer more food offerings, but the beer more than makes up for it!

Andrew Scheffler

Great spot, great location, great beer, and even greater people. Craft breweries are abundant in Minneapolis, but La Dona is unique and has wonderful character. I personally drink the Big Momma and the Suenos de Cafe (when I want some caffeine). However, they have a huge selection for everyone.

Miguel Ramos

Great beer, great prices and staff. Saturday nights there is dancing. Perfect.

Morgan Finley

Good beer and a good mission, authentic latinx events hosted here. food trucks, good music, tv for football, art exhibits Bromista and la reya are the best brews

Mister Jon

A great new and unique concept for a tap room. Beer selection is ample (but could improve with more "dark" choices, eg porter, stouts, etc). The beer I had was all above average (a tough feat to pull off with such a competitive beer scene). The Mexican lager in particular was very good. Service was friendly and prompt. Prices were reasonable. There is a large outdoor patio and a soccer field. Food is offered at certain times through food truck/visiting chefs. Artwork and ambiance was vibrant and engaging. There is plenty of seating available. Parking is free but could be more plentiful. They do not offer a tasting flight option for the beers (but they should).

Garth Thompson

awesome place!! very Welcoming and friendly staff. Best beer ive had in a long time

Brenna Erdmann

My favorite brewery in the Twin Cities! La Doña has great beer, great events, and great staff.

Terre Heiser

Out of the gate and charging forward. Excellent 'rookie' brewery just recently opened that has quickly seperated itself from the rest of the pack. The Michelada is unique amongst the local taprooms and a perfect blend of beer, spice and tomato. The

yannely sanchez

Dance party was great! But the cerveza was not to my liking.

Eriqah R. K. Vincent

Sergio, the owner is AWESOME. Really laid back and accommodating. Im an event planning consultant and used the space for an conference happy hour. Everything was affordable and fantastic. I will be back!!

Patrick Broderick

Great staff, an increasing number of good brews, and plans to start a kitchen. Has character and culture. Their Mexican Lager is also one of the best Lagers I've ever tasted!

Christa Zangel

We arrived a little after 8pm and were charged a cover fee per person for their salsa dancing, even though we didn’t want to dance. We left at 9pm and salsa dancing hadn’t even started. Beer was okay. Service was awkward.

Dave Dutcher

I really enjoyed the beer, and I thought it was a nice space.

Kevin Duffy

Best brewery I have ever been to. A+ atmosphere with reasonable prices and amazing beer.

Andrew Kassan

Amazing place with wonderful beer. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Couldn't recommend it enough!

Tim Erdmann

The taproom is huge with tons of tables and bar seating, so theres always space to sit down. Very unique Latin vibe and lots of cool cultural art pieces around the place. The beers are amazing, I havent had one I didnt like. Personal favorite is the La Reyna IPA, and the Sueños de cafe is the best coffee brewed beer I've found. Definitely going to be a regular spot for my family and me!

Duke Brix

Cool space, and pretty good beer, although they don't have a big selection. Definitely cool that it's a Mexican brewery!

Grant Nelson

Great beer, great location!

floranorve

First time in super good bive. Lindo lugar excellent selection
